“Yes, summery dessert for a summery day.” She said, popping the containers away in the fridge. There wasn’t a whole lot of room but as Killy chatted away to someone, Halley finished up. She shut the fridge and turned to see what trouble Killy was getting himself into. At least he was being friendly, she supposed, not that he would ever be anything but. “Hi,” She smiled brightly to the Dorian fellow with a little shrug of her shoulders, “I’m Halley, I work with Leo.” She headed to the pavlova that was sitting on the counter and picked it up, carrying it to the fridge. She pulled open the door and slid the container into the spot she’d made for it and closed the door shut. Usually she would have waited until last minute to decorate the pav, but she wanted to be able to enjoy herself and besides, the container it was it would keep the dessert just as it was supposed to be without compromising its crunchy texture.

Leo was more Jasper’s friend than Felix’s but they all worked together at St Mungo’s and Felix appreciated the invitation to the man’s barbecue this year. The P&P Healers talked about Leo’s Easter barbecue every year, despite Leo being in Spell Damage with worked more closely with A&E, not that Felix felt slighted only having received his very first invite this year. Jasper was obviously going to be there, bringing along a date, and while Leo had graciously given Felix a plus one, he opted not to use it. A pool party at a lake house? He’d find a girl there, he was sure of it.
Things seemed to be in full swing when Felix arrived on the front walk, the front door opening for him as he approached. He could see Leo and others outside in the sun but having never been to the older healer’s home before, Felix decided to give a little look around before wandering out to greet the host. He found the living room with a nicely stocked bar and two very attractive ladies making themselves a few drinks. He recognized them both immediately, and knowing that one of them was unavailable, his odds of scoring in this room had significantly dropped. “Afternoon, ladies. What are we drinking?”

She was just about to comment on it when Lunete burst into a hushed frenzy, eyes fixed on the impressive figure of Kal Sullivan, the Falcon's Beater, sitting in a chair by the pool. Lo had to admit that it was a mighty fine sight, and though she didn't want to offend Ollie, also a Falcon's Beater, at all, she did stand and gawp for a few seconds before pulling herself together. She nudged Lunete in the ribs. "Go and say hi," she said. "He's Ollie's friend, he's bound to be cool." She unlinked her arm from Lunete's and gave her gorgeous friend a shove towards the sexy Quidditch star, sidestepping towards Leo and the barbeque, where Liam was dishing out burgers at an alarming speed.  And the world was a song and the song was exciting Everyone headed outside, and Liv followed, glad she had her sunglasses on to fend off the glare from the sun shining high over the lake, which was enormous. She wished she'd brought her camera to get some shots. Maybe she could have a word with this Leo guy and see if he wanted any pictures taken around his home, she'd adore doing that, the place was beautiful. London shoved Lunete towards some burly guy in a chair by the pool, and the others all headed towards the food, but Liv wasn't hungry. She also didn't want to be associated with the muggleborn standing next to her, so she politely stepped away. "Hey, I think I saw someone I know inside, I'm gonna go and say hi," she said, excusing herself and flitting back into the house for a nose around. Maybe this guy had a dog or something. Lunete was way out of earshot, having been shoved halfway across the patio by Lola, so Echo focused on the food instead. "I just want chips. A huge plate full of chips." With burgers or bacon or other tasty things on the side, of course. Lola was already eying the goods and Echo pulled Ollie up beside her to grab a plate of... well, anything, it all smelled so good! She turned to hand an empty plate to Johnny. "Tuck in, Townsend," she said, shuffling over to make room for him to help them empty the table as soon as it had been filled. Luckily the barbeque was going strong, there'd be more food ready any minute. "Is she alright?" he asked no one in particular, but everyone was too busy helping themselves to food to really care. Might as well join them. Johnny took the plate Echo offered and squished himself in beside her. "Don't mind if I do," he said, reaching for a burger and adding all the toppings. He took a huge bite and let out a groan of appreciation. "Compliments to the chefs!" he called to the two guys manning the barbeque. They were doing a great job. Killian glanced through the kitchen doorway to where Dorian had pointed, but he could only see groups of people milling about, because apparently this chilled out barbeque was turning into a full on house party. Killian scrunched up his face adorably and turned back to Dorian. "You think you could show me?" he asked. "I'd hate to walk into a private room or anything." That made this place sound like a brothel, but he'd said it, it was too late. He glanced at Halley as she stuffed the pavlova into the fridge. "You okay if we go and put some music on?" he asked, knowing the answer already. Of course she'd be okay, she was Halley, she could talk to anyone, she'd probably have a fascinating conversation with the next person to enter the room. She'd be fine. Killian put a hand on Dorian's back and grinned at him. She never would have been a barmaid, but it did sound pretty idyllic, now that she'd thought of it. She'd love to live back home but she would miss her siblings far too much to ever make the jump back to her home land. England wasn't that bad, a bit chilly, but that gave her an excuse to have as many holidays as she could cram into a single year. And she did. She was brought out of her daydream by the sight of Felix Flint entering the room, looking delightfully undone. "Healer Flint," Kiki purred. "I don't think I've ever seen you out of work robes. I approve." He looked damn fine. Kiki spread her arms out in front of the shelves behind the bar. She felt a teeny bit more comfortable after Jasper's words, but still gave the hem of her dress a little tug. Jasper had said Leo had a pool, there would probably be people in swimsuits and bikini's here, she had nothing to worry about. So she worried anyway. "Thanks. I just threw it on last minute, I wasn't sure what to wear." Well, that was a big fat lie, but she wasn't going to tell him how much she'd fussed before leaving the house. Jasper, of all people, would understand, but there were just some things that didn't need to be said. "And hey, we're kind of matching," she added, tugging playfully at Jasper's blue top, which was a similar shade to her dress. Either they both had good taste, or no taste at all, either way they were a pair. Again. She headed inside Leo's house ahead of Jasper and paused in the entryway, taking in the lavish decor around her. Her shoes clicked on the highly polished floor as Jasper led her out the back of the house, where people were already sitting by the pool and eating food. She didn't see Freya or Dorian anywhere, which made her feel a tiny spike of anxiety, but she pushed it aside. She was with Jasper, she was fine. She shook her head at the offer of food. "Please tell me this Leo has soft drinks," she said, keeping her voice low enough that only Jas could hear her. "If not, then yes to the food because I don't want to drown in the pool after half a glass of wine." The witch approached and introduced herself as one of Leo’s colleagues from St Mungo’s, to which Dorian smiled. “Nice to meet you.” Well at least that explained why such a young couple were at Leo’s party, since it’d be practically impossible to crash without Leo’s knowing. He felt impossibly old around these two, who he assumed were not much older than Hogwarts graduates, judging by their baby faces. They could practically pass for Tristan’s mates. Killian asked, for lack of a better word, for an escort into the living room which Dorian couldn’t politely get out of. He didn’t really have anything else to do, so why couldn’t he show the lad to the stereo. Why? There had to be a reason….
Nope. Damn. "Sure."
Dorian nodded as Killian clapped him on the back and he turned out the door he’d just come through and headed into the living room where a small crowd of people were already gathering. Dorian wasn’t sure when exactly he’d become a crotchety old hermit, but the thought of chit chatting made his jaw tighten. “Leo’s got loads of records. I’m sure there’s something you’ll fancy.” As promised, the stereo was to the left of the bar, a collection of records stacked neatly on display.

“Chips are a given.” Ollie, Echo, London, and Johnny all crowded around the food table, filling their plates. Ollie wasn’t ashamed to pile his sky high, knowing at least one of the ladies would, at some point, pick off his plate when instead of getting up from wherever they would plant themselves to get a second helping. It happened every time without fail. “Those types don’t eat,” Ollie said softly to Johnny as he asked where Liv was headed off to. Ollie knew Liv and knew the type of girl she hung out with; more tolerable that some lot but really focused on their waistline. It was a real shame because this food was delicious. “Mmmm,” he offered his ineloquent appreciation for the potato salad he’d snuck a bit of while piling pickles on his burger. “Oh yeah. Good show this year, man,” he said to Leo, who probably wouldn’t remember him considering it had a been over a year since their paths had last crossed. “Shall we?” he asked of Echo, ready to park it under an umbrella near the pool and properly dig in.

Lunete laughed a little nervously as Lo pushed her along and she looked back at Ollie and Echo as Ollie commented he was a star too. Lunete knew that, and as much as she loved Ollie, he wasn't a Quidditch legend that she'd admired since she was a kid. "Hi," She said, grinning like an absolute star-struck moron, fully believing that she was wasting a quidditch god's time, "I just wanted to say I am such a hug fan of yours." although she didn't want to be a bother, she couldn't help but gush a little more, "I was in the stands when you did the Ronski Blitz into the tree table, into the krab-dive and into the somersault blind-knoof against The Wasps in '74." She said, although he hadn't been a Kestrel back then. "It was amazing!" It wasn't the only match she'd seen him play in, but that was one of the most incredible dodge-hit-dodge-double hit combos that she'd seen in her life. Her dad used to take her to quidditch matches and he too had grown a love for the sport, being a muggle he'd never heard of Quidditch until Doc had turned him on to the sport and convinced him to take them to a match, from then on, he was as obsessed with the sport as much as any of his children. Her dad was going to freak out when he heard that she'd met the legendary Kal Sullivan at a random barbecue!

 I got the heart of a warrior I'll never back down Leo Zabini had saved Roux life twice. That's right, twice. The first time was in his seventh year, during the Easter holidays. Roux had been out having lunch with a few friends and choked on a creme egg. Luckily Leo had been in the same cafe and had managed to dislodge the egg and save Roux. The second time he'd saved Roux's life was not actually that dissimilar. Instead of a creme egg, it was a chocolate truffle two Christmases ago in the same cafe, and honestly, for the same thing to happen twice in the same place, with the same people... That was kind of freaky. Leo had insisted it was kismet or something, and they'd struck up a friendship. Just in case it happened a third time and Roux needed him. It wouldn't be happening a third time, Roux was extra careful when eating small round foods, but he thought if destiny was to strike one more time, attending Leo's barbeque today would be as good a place as any for it to happen. He kept it casual with jeans and a t-shirt, his long hair messy and unkempt, as it usually was, and apparated to Leo's house with a few tubs of his favourite ice cream that he'd picked up from Fortescue's yesterday. The weather had been pretty warm for the end of May, Roux imagined he wouldn't be the only one up for an ice cream cone today. And if he was, more for him. The front door opened automatically to let him in, and Roux headed straight for the kitchen to find the freezer. A cute redhead was in there alone, and he gave her a smile. "Hey, I'm looking for the freezer," he said, not completely at home in Leo's house. He'd been over a few times but never needed to help himself to anything in the kitchen before. He plonked the box full of ice cream tubs on a counter and opened a door, only to find a fully stocked fridge. Not the freezer. "Pavlova. What do you think he'd like? Or most of the people here. I only really know Halley and she'd have me play Valentine songs. He's a bit... raunchy for something like this." Valentine's music was incredible, but maybe more for a real party, not a chilled out vibe at all. Killian began pulling out records, scanning the titles, and putting them back. He found a couple of The Hook's albums, which would be good if Dorian didn't have any suggestions. He looked like a cool guy, though, someone who had good taste in music. She couldn't imagine what those kinds of girls lived like, picking at salads and watching their figures so obsessively that they must have just been permanently starving. It made Echo's stomach rumble just thinking about it. Her plate was full enough for now, so she nodded when Ollie asked if she wanted to find somewhere to sit. She was already eating her chips as they headed for the shade of an umbrella where they could really tuck in. "Lunete looks like she's about to die," Echo said, nodding across the pool where Lunete was chatting to Sully like he was some sort of God. He looked the part, but he was just a bloke, nothing special except for his Quidditch skills. It was cute to see her friend practically idolising the man. Echo grinned as she watched.
