PERSONALITY Boggart: His boggart would turn into himself, sick, weak, dying. Illness scares Roux, he doesn't like getting so much as a cold without secretly fretting and worrying that it might be the end of him. He doesn't tell anyone this, but if he ever gets sick, you won't see him or hear from him until he's better, he will lock himself away so nobody gets to see how much of a mess he is. Mirror of Erised: He is Head of the Auror department. Older, distinguished, respected by everyone in his department. Hell, respected by everyone in the Ministry. Patronus: Black Panther - Roux's happiest memory is getting accepted into the Auror training program! It seems so simple, but the pride he felt at getting in is unreal. Achieving his goals and dreams is a huge buzz for him, and he's sure his happy memory will be replaced over and over as he goes through life following and achieving his ambitions. Roux is a strong lad, he has high ambitions, he's confident, honest, and he doesn't shy away from life. He was a Gryffindor at school, and rightfully so. He is no wallflower, and will handle anything life throws at him competently and bravely. He can switch between being outgoing with friends, to being the brooder in the corner. He is a very deep thinker, and it's easy to think he's annoyed with you, when really he's just trying to decide what to have for dinner, but he does it passionately. Every choice in life matters. Every single one. With his friends, he is often coerced into making questionable choices, but all in the name of fun. He's never been in too much trouble, not with the law, he's been grounded a fair amount by his dad as a teen, but aside from that he's a good lad. He likes to let loose with his mates, he likes to go on whatever adventures they're planning, but he will be in work bright and early the next day, working his butt off. Roux is a bit of a ladies man, though he doesn't brag about it. He can charm the knickers off most women, though he will be respectful during and after, never getting sucked into revealing sordid details to his mates. He has had a few girlfriends but nothing that he ever saw lasting. He is very much a relationship person at heart, though you wouldn't think it seeing him pull women in a club. He longs for commitment, for a partner in life, to come home to the same person every day after work. He's young, there's plenty of time for that, and he is more career focused at the moment, but you never know what or who is just around the corner. If you're on the wrong side of the law, Roux is a formidable enemy. He is very, very serious about his job, and has high ambitions to run the show one day. He switches his emotions off at the door, and picks them up again at the end of the day, so if you face him in a work capacity, expect a ruthless, efficient opponent. In his personal life, Roux can be a bit of a hot head when people piss him off. If he's had a drink, he will throw a punch or a hex, if he hasn't, he will run his mouth off just enough to get under your skin, then walk away. He is always in control of himself, because he won't screw his life and career up lashing out on an angry whim. You're not important enough for that. He screwed up big time. At the tender age of sixteen, he became a father with a British girl he had been seeing whenever he visited family in the school holidays. They had been together on and off for a year, seeing each other at Christmas, then Easter, then spending the entire summer holidays together, sneaking around in Louis' Aunts house in the English countryside. It was cute, they were cute. Until Genevieve Blackthorne began to gain weight suspiciously just around her middle. The Christmas break of 1947 it became more obvious, and after a quick trip to the hospital, they learned that they were to be parents. Louis was horrified, Gen was upset, and as incompetent teenagers, when their son was born the following March they made the most rash decision of their lives, and dropped him off at an orphanage when he was just one day old. The nameless baby haunted Louis for the rest of his life, but he still went on to graduate from Beaubatons and eventually moved to England for work. In his early twenties he met Sylvia, a blonde haired, green eyed goddess. She was young and vibrant and captured his heart immediately. They married quite quickly, and within a few years their first son was born. Roux Arden L'amour was Louis' second child, but the first one he got to raise and love, and it turned out he was actually good at being a dad, which was an even bigger kick in the teeth for him. Little Roux never knew about any of the trouble his father faced in life. He was a happy kid, confident, competent, and bold. He was the apple of his father's eye, and though he had his mother's hot temper, he was a sensible kid with a heart of gold. He became a big brother when he was four, and little Sebastien was pretty cute. Roux loved having a sibling, especially a brother, and he and Bastien soon became fast friends, inseparable, and thick as thieves despite the occasional sibling rivalry. Roux was the cause of that sibling rivalry, mostly because he was so ambitious. He wanted to be the best, though not in any kind of obnoxious way, he just did. Bastien would get wound up by it now and then, but it was never serious, Roux didn't have a cruel bone in his body, though he never felt guilt at winning a game, or being first, he just didn't rub it in anyone's faces. It was a private kind of victory. He was sorted into Gryffindor when he went to Hogwarts, and was pretty happy about this. His friends were all loud and confident, and he blended in perfectly, being dragged along on adventures, though never thought of as a ringleader, or a troublemaker by Professors. He worked hard in lessons, getting brilliant grades to the point where he was eventually offered the position of Head Boy in his seventh year, after being a Prefect since his fourth year. He was also the Gryffindor Keeper for the last three years of school, which was a lot of fun, and taught him how much he loved being physical. He wanted to be an Auror, and he was definitely cut out for the workload. Graduating Hogwarts, he spent a whole year in France with his grandparents, his dad encouraging him to "get it out of your system" before settling down with a job and responsibilities. It kind of worked. He had an absolute blast of a year, travelling, making new friends, having fun with girls. He was almost nineteen when he left, and twenty when he returned. He got himself a little place of his own to settle in, and immediately applied to the Auror Training Program. He was accepted straight away, to his utter joy, and Roux is now in his final year of training, and very much looking forward to becoming an Auror, with his sights set on being Head of the department one day.
