Doc sounded like the name of a dwarf but Dora nodded and repeated “Doc, then.” At least he could speak, that was an improvement. Leo snorted in laughter, not subtly covering it by clearing his throat, and Dora glanced at him, amused. Was he picturing a dwarf as well, or had she missed some inside joke hidden in the man’s meager sentence? “I’m here with my friend, Kit,” she replied, glancing over her shoulder and quickly trying to scan for the tall, dark haired hunk she’d accompanied. Where was he? Hiding somewhere, most likely, since she wasn’t at his side to absorb all the socializing for him. “Not sure where he’s run off to. Probably got scared off by the colorful language,” Dora mused, wondering whether Kit had turned completely red at hearing Rodolphus Lestrange call for his wife’s girly bits or just a tad pink in the ears. “I’m here though, lucky yous.”

Jasper linked arms with Geralina and they headed off in the direction of something. Something. What something, though? Jasper was at a loss, he was used to large homes but when the Lestranges hosted events it was Roddy's parents that opened up their boastful home. It seemed that Roddy's tastes had not fallen too far from the tree. His home was extravagant, also. Jasper had kind of expected it in fairness, and he was sure that Rabastan and Lilith's was probably about the same, although probably more gold, that Lilith person was always in gold, he'd noticed. "Oh! But that should mean a kitchen is nearby, right?" A kitchen could be two or three doors away, but surely not many, Jasper thought as he checked out Geralina's arse before coming to his senses and peering down the hallway.

Gabe was doing everything he could to calm his little Buttercup. he shh'ed and he bounced but nothing seemed to be doing the trick. Frey suggested he sing to her and a light click din his mind, "Oh, good idea!" Not that she could hear over Isabella's screaming, but Isabella hopefully could. "Witchy-woo, witchy-woo," He began, "Why do you seem so blue?" He carried on, "Oh witchy-woo, my witchy-woo, I love you." Isabella started calming down, Gabe had always known that Frey was a genius and this just went to prove it.

So the whole D-Man was a runaway train and Ant was surely going to be murdered for it later on by Dorian, but it was all worthwhile when they go to Doc's name. Ant snickered at his friend's lack of fortune, it wasn't good. Leo and this Dora chick seemed to know one another so they were happy chatting where as Ant felt like a third wheel, although he had Doc, but Ant kind of wanted to get away from the cute girl after he'd totally made an arse of himself. "Poor Devereaux, I'll go find him and see how he's holding up." He said, "It's been a pleasure meeting you Dora." He smiled before departing the group and looking out for Kit, or anyone he wouldn't make an arse of himself infant of, really.

Isabella began chewing on Gabe's hair and Frey took that as a sign that she was feeling more comfortable, so she edged closer, reaching out to stroke her baby's sweet cheek, and then Gabe's. Had he run off to hide somewhere? That was just typical, and Leo wasn't having any of it. Ant made a lame excuse to get out of the conversation, and Leo followed, though his excuse was genuine. "Hey, I'll be back in a minute, I'm gonna find the birthday boy." Was Dorian okay? Had he had a heart attack and needed urgent medical attention? He could be laying in a side room somewhere clutching his chest in horror and nobody would even know. Leo patted Doc on the arm with a wide grin and said nothing as he left him with Dora, heading out of the living room in search of Dorian. He passed Jasper in the hallway with that Geralina chick he had a massive crush on. Dorian wasn't with them, so Leo passed them by, giving Jasper a quick pat on the back and thrusting his hips with a nod at Geralina, who was peeking into the kids playroom. "Take her upstairs!" he whispered, before moving on down the hallway. He checked a few more rooms until he eventually opened a door and saw Dorian sitting in silence with Dorcas Meadowes' dad, who seemed a strange but nice fellow. Leo hovered in the doorway. "Why are you hiding out in here?" he asked, looking Dorian up and down intensely. Something wasn't right. He had been best friends with Dorian since school, he could tell when something was up, but he couldn't imagine what it could be other than the obvious: Dorian hated them all for throwing this party and intended on sitting in this room and sulking until everyone left. Roddy laughed, amused at himself mostly, and shoved his own sandwich into his mouth. It was bloody awful.

Dorian wasn’t sure what to say to Andre, but he appreciated the offer. Sitting in uncomfortable silence was about as comfortable as he was going to get, and so he sat there with Andre, saying nothing for a decent amount of time. After a long while, Dorian sighed, and looked up to Andre just as the door opened again. This time it was Leo, who entered and gave no offer of peaceful silence. Dorian shoved the letter from his birth mother into the inner pocket of his jacket as he looked at the man standing at the door. “Well since there’s a party out there, this seemed like my best option at avoiding it.” Honestly, whomever thought Dorian Humbert would like an event like this, was off their rocker. But of course he’d been told who it was that set the whole thing up, and Dorian couldn’t possibly be annoyed with his brother for trying to do something nice. A party. A letter from their mother. To anyone else, it would have been a perfect way to celebrate a birthday. He couldn’t fault Julian for his plans.

First Ant buggered off and then Leo, too, decided to take leave, leaving Doc alone with this woman. He took a gulp of his beer to avoid talking to her, but she asked a question and he sputtered his drink. Doc wiped his mouth with the back of his sleeve and looked to Dora, frowning, "Merlin's bollocks no, what are you, fifteen?" his face scrunched in disgust and disbelief that she'd act like that at a party, honestly, Kit had crap taste in friends, it seemed. Doc headed off in the direction of Alastor and his wife with a friendly smile, he no longer worked at the ministry but having worked in the muggle-worthy excuse committee, he'd had his fair share of dealings with various aurors, and Alastor had always been a decent bloke, "Hey there big fella, how's life treating you?" He said with a nod, "Evening, Mrs Moody," He added with a polite nod to Moody's wife, hoping that gross little slag was staying the hell away from him.
