PERSONALITY Boggart: His daughter, Aurora, with her throat slit Patronus: Roddy cannot produce a patronus, however if he could it would be a three-headed dragon, conjured by remembering earning his Dark Mark before his wife Bellatrix Mirror of Erised: Himself standing among a bevvy of women and gold Rodolphus, known as Rod or Roddy to his friends and the more affectionate ladies, is a fiercely loyal man, though he may have a difference of opinion on what constitutes loyalty in a marriage. Despite his adulterous ways, Rodolphus cares for his wife as a great friend, and would incinerate anyone who dared to speak ill of her in his presence. He is definitely the sort of bloke that will strike first and ask questions later, especially when it comes to the people he loves or his beliefs. He has quite an explosive temper but has learned to refrain from compulsive actions in front of anyone import like those of a certain social standing, business prospects, or the Dark Lord. His parents raised him to be a proper pureblooded socialite, to believe that muggles and mudbloods were scum. With a new Dark Wizard in town propagating such beliefs, it was only a matter of time before Rodolphus fell in line with Lord Voldemort’s ranks. His ex-wife, Bellatrix, is by far the most alluring of the Black sisters; her psychosis being perhaps the most attractive aspect of her character and while Rodolphus didn’t have any true feelings for her, he saw the benefits in such a pairing. Rodolphus does not believe in romantic marriage as such notions could hinder the continuation of the truly pure bloodlines, which would be a severe mistake. Because he had few romantic feelings for his then-wife, he regularly had affairs with other attractive women, giving no shits about what his wife thought of the matter. He does, however, concern himself with public appearance, and for that reason his dalliances had always remained private, and since beginning the divorce proceedings he has aimed to keep his family's name out of the tabloids by continuing to keep his affairs in the shadows and out of the limelight. To the world, Rodolphus is an upstanding citizen, a loyal father, and a brilliant businessman. In private, he is a crude, lecherous wizard who would sooner chop off your genitals and sell them back to you for a profit than apologize for a misdeed. His biggest soft spot is his only child and currently the only heir to the Lestrange fortune; his daughter, Aurora. At first he was furious that his wife bore him a daughter, but he quickly became smitten with the creature and she with him. He lavishes affection on his princess and gives her everything her heart desires. Aurora has Rodolphus wrapped well and good around her little finger. As such, they have a duty to the wizarding world to continue their illustrious line which is why at the age of 26, Adolph Lestrange wed a rather homely 22-year-old pureblooded witch; Ceres Rowle, despite having no romantic feelings for her. For years the couple tried to get pregnant and when Ceres was 37 they finally had what close friends and family called their “miracle child.” Adolph was elated when Rodolphus was born, and in fact Rod’s birth quite literally saved the Lestranges’ marriage. After so many years together, Adolph and Ceres were quite comfortable with each other and loved one another in their own way, but their marriage was not one of romantic love and Adolph had threatened to find a younger wife who could bear him a son and continue the affluential Lestrange name. As the “miracle child,” Rodolphus was given everything he ever wanted. When he was four and demanded a dragon, his parents acquired and stabled on in Romania where such creatures were legally available as pets, and the nannies would take little Roddy whenever he wanted to play with the firebreather. At age 9 when a temper tantrum resulted in the death of one of his nannies, the Lestranges disposed of the body quietly, bought Rodolphus an ice cream, and told confirmed that the nanny had been in the wrong. He was permitted to get away with much more than his younger brother, Rabastan, though Rabastan was given plenty of leeway as well, and the two boys became a fearsome duo around the Lestrange properties. Rabastan was born two years after Rodolphus, and Adolph was not keen on having a second son, knowing what brothers were capable of. Adolph himself had, at one time, two brothers. The eldest died at the young age of 2 to a disease that required him to be quarantined for nearly 4 months before his passing. Fearing he would one day be forced to share his family's wealth with his little brother, Adolph at the tender age of 13, murdered his younger brother after sneaking out during a Hogsmeade weekend, paying a drifter to side-along apparate him to his family's home to commit the crime, then returned to Hogsmeade where he then killed the drifter and reclaimed his money. As Adolph had an alibi for his whereabouts while being away at school no one ever discovered the truth about his brother's death, but Adolph always kept an eye on his sons, just in case. The Lestrange brothers were raised primarily by their mother, along with a slew of nannies who did all the real “dirty work.” Their father appeared as the traditional patriarch of the family and instructed them on the proper way to present one’s self. Rodolphus took this lesson and excelled; becoming the prime example of what a Slytherin pureblood should be while in school. While at Hogwarts, Rodolphus was an excellent student, hardly needing to open a book to receive top marks in all his classes. He is naturally intelligent and utterly insightful. Roddy joined the Quidditch team in his third year and was an accomplished beater; his lean strengths allows him to easily bat bludgers into the opposing teams as if he were flicking a wad of paper with his finger. He became the Slytherin quidditch captain in his fifth year, a title he held until graduation. In addition to his formal education, Rodolphus trained with a private tutor acquired by his father in the art of Black Magic and dueling. Rodolphus is a skilled duelist, both in formal affairs as well as actual street duels. He was dueling champion four years in a row In his seventh year, Roddy began shagging a younger student; Dorcas Meadowes. Dorcas was a beater on the Slytherin quidditch team and after a poor play on the pitch in which Meadowes cost Slytherin the game, Rodolphus saw to it that he punished her mistakes. What had started as a simple tongue lashing quickly became the older boy dominating the pretty brunette in the locker room and leaving her with bruises and a thirst for erotic pain. What followed was a long-term game of cat and mouse with Dorcas claiming she wanted nothing to do with him and Rodolphus proving she wanted at least one thing from him. The pair defiled most every room in Hogwarts and after his graduation he would return to Hogsmeade, claiming to be visiting his younger brother on the Hogsmeade weekend, and drag Dorcas into the toilets to make her scream. There is hardly a loo in Hogsmeade that hasn’t seen this pair at one time or another. Despite Rodolphus’ and Dorcas’ carnal compatibility, the younger girl was a known bloodtraitor and Rodolphus insisted their affair be kept quiet. As Rodolphus is a proud wizard supremacist, Dorcas did not argue against his demands. After graduating Hogwarts, Rodolphus was granted the title of Chief Operating Officer at his father’s international company; Lestrange Industries. An 18-year-old Rodolphus had no clue how to run a business but again his father hired the best wizards to tutor his son and Rodolphus quickly caught on and surpassed his parents’ expectations of him. It was a year later when Rodolphus learned of a Dark Wizard with aims to rid Britain of the muggle infestation. He pledged his allegiance as a devoted follower of Lord Voldemort and encouraged his friends to do the same. At 20, Rodolphus agreed to marry his long-time friend Bellatrix Black. The Black family line was the most ancient pure wizarding family in all of Britain and by merging the wealthiest family with the oldest, Rodolphus and Bellatrix would form a union that would ignite the wizarding world’s passion for purity. The wedding was a lavish event and the couple were compared to royalty. While on their honeymoon, the couple engaged in amorous activities, followed by a little murder and mayhem on a small village in the south pacific. The day after returning home with his bride, Rodolphus was marked by the Dark Lord and welcomed into Voldemort’s inner circle. Using his superior dueling skills, Rodolphus quickly became the go-to hit wizard for Lord Voldemort, often bringing his wife Bella along on his missions as the two found murder to be excellent foreplay. After three years of marriage, Bellatrix gave birth to the couple’s first and only child. Rodolphus arrogantly assumed they would be having a boy, a proper heir to the Lestrange fortune. He was crushed and livid when it was announced that his first child was a girl. Against logic and reason, Rodolphus blamed Bellatrix for her poisoning his bloodline with her family’s apparent curse; having only daughters. The couple’s marriage was rocky for nearly a year but in that time Rodolphus found himself drawn to his daughter Aurora. He would watch her sleep when he came home from a late night of working or philandering. As Aurora grew, Rodolphus spent more time and affection on his little princess, threatening the staff with death should they reveal they saw him playing tea with his daughter and several of her stuffed teddies, all wearing sun bonnets at the request of the dark-haired angel. Rodolphus expected to have more children in the future, but Bellatrix refused, claiming his averse reaction to the birth of their first daughter was enough to solidify that he did not deserve to have her bear anymore of his children. Rodolphus has since filed for divorce, using his exceedingly deep pockets to procure a lawyer that would ensure his daughter remains in his custody while he is free to pursue a more amenable mother of his future heir.
