They carefully made their way up the stairs, dodging around a guy sitting on the top stair looking glum. Frey gave him a friendly smile as she tried not to spill her drink on his head. Gabe was already peeking into a bedroom, and he backed out quickly, announcing that it was occupied already. Frey's eyebrows rose. "Really? By who? she asked, moving around him to open the door again and poke her head around it. There was no one inside, but she could hear noises coming from the ensuite. Frey caught sight of a drink floating out of the room and quirked a brow. What had she missed? She wasn't sure she wanted to know. The younger guy left the room, and the couple on the table were seemingly oblivious to everyone else. It seemed like everyone was having a good time. Even Dorian had a beer in his hand, which was nice to see. He looked more relaxed today. She was used to seeing him so formal and focused at work. "What's your poison?" she asked Gabe as he made himself a drink. Frey shrugged and grabbed the bottle, popping the top off with a loud bang just as Ant turned the music up and set loose some disco lights, creating a real party atmosphere. "Let's party, baby!" Not the plain gold shoes on the floor behind her, or the diamante gold shoes that had been flung on the bed, but the ones with the strappy bits. Noelle was minding Isabella for the entire night. A sleepover! It was a rare occasion, but Frey was happy that her kid was confident enough to stay out with family. It was nice to get a break every now and then. Her hands clasped the shoes in question, and she tugged them out. "Got them!" she called, slipping her feet in quickly and heading downstairs to find Gabe, who had been patiently waiting for her to get ready for what must have felt like an age. "I'm here. Let's go." She rushed to his side and gave him a peck on the cheek and a grin that said "I'm sorry for taking so long, thank you for putting up with me." It was adorable, and so bloody attractive. He was no Raphael Hookum, but he could carry a tune and he had a lovely tone that warmed Freya's... well, never mind. The baby was calming down, and Frey slowly crept into her line of vision, still keeping her distance. Isabella stared at her with big green eyes, red-rimmed from crying, but she only whimpered. No more wailing. "Hey, lovey," Frey whispered, scared to make a noise in case it kicked the crying off again. "Is your daddy a good singer? He is, isn't he!" Isabella began chewing on Gabe's hair and Frey took that as a sign that she was feeling more comfortable, so she edged closer, reaching out to stroke her baby's sweet cheek, and then Gabe's. The other tots in the room were all looking at them as though they were aliens, and Frey felt awful about the whole thing. Never again would she change her hair colour. Not until Isabella was older, anyway. "Why don't you try singing her song," she suggested. The baby loved it when Gabriel sang her special song to her, that was the most likely thing to calm her down. That and Frey staying far away until she changed her hair back to its usual shiny blonde. Freya liked a bit of cheese, a bit of romance, compliments, lovey-doveyness and all that jazz, but even she could admit it was slightly cringey. But she loved it. She also loved the way Gabe scooped Isabella up into his arms and gave her kisses, making the tiny little angel squeal with delight. What she didn't love, was her baby's reaction when she laid eyes on her mother. "Hi, sweetpea," Frey cooed, leaning in for her own kiss and getting a big slap in the face. Isabella burst into tears, just like she had this morning when she'd seen her newly brunette mother. Blowing out a defeated breath, Frey cringed. "I'm sorry, baby, it's mummy, look, it's just mummy."
