 Things were all good yesterday, then the devil took your breath away Sophie was actually excited about today. She'd spent quite a bit of her Easter holidays house hunting with Love, and it had put a spring in her step. She was thrilled that Love's dad had agreed to help them out, she just wished her mum would be as enthusiastic when it came time to tell her that she would be moving out after graduation. She hadn't plucked up the courage yet, and she was kind of dreading it. If she didn't think about it, it couldn't put a downer on her excitement. She was blocking it out today by spending some quality time with her baby sister, Susie, who was the only good thing to come out of her mum getting together with Professor Bones. Love was coming, too, of course, and Soph had a bag packed with everything they'd need to survive an outing together, that also meant wearing dungarees with a million pockets. She was fully prepared for everything except the amount of people that had turned up to the book shop for the event. Holy crow, it was busy, there were fairies and elves and princes and other magical little people everywhere she looked, and Susie was no exception. She was dolled up in a sparkly fairy outfit and looked completely adorable. The best fairy in the building, as far as Sophie was concerned. She hoisted Susie higher on her hip and pointed to the kids running around. "Look, Su! Look at all the fairies!" Susie clapped her little hands together and then smacked Soph in the face with excitement. "Okay, great start." She turned around to look for Love, but the blonde girl was too busy fussing and exclaiming over the kids and their outfits . She needed no encouragement. At least she wasn't smacking Sophie in the face, too. "Shall we put her down somewhere or am I supposed to keep hold of her?" Soph wondered out loud, unsure of whether it would be a wise idea to let Susie crawl around with so many people milling about. "I'm tempted to ask you to swap dresses." She did look better in the slightly darker colours, though. And she had more sparkles than Jasper did. She really shouldn't be jealous of how much his outfit brought out the beautiful blue shade of his eyes. Today was a day for helping her cousin and having fun, not being petty over who got a better dress. Pushing the silliness aside, Neve gave Jasper an encouraging grin and took his hand in hers.  Don't be afraid I'll take the blow for you Lilith took a seat just as Lucian and Clem approached them from across the room, and Rabastan stood, offering his own seat to Clem and reaching out to shake Lucian's hand. Nathaniel wriggled at that exact moment and Rabby stifled a gasp as he pictured his tiny son toppling to the floor. Both hands now clasped firmly around his baby, he shook his head at Lucian. "No," he admitted with a chuckle. "I don't even remember what day it is most of the time." He knew today was Saturday because he didn't have work. Or was it Sunday? Damn. At least he was aware that it was Easter, he had to get points for that. Rabby was used to being organised and in control of his life. Having a baby had thrown his world into a state of total chaos and he couldn't remember what sleep was, either. He would have assumed it got easier but he had enough friends with kids to know that that wasn't true. Little Alexander, who was growing bigger by the day, was proof of that. Dorcas let Ariel down to the ground and watched her toddle off with Aurora. They made a beeline for the sparkles at the craft table and Dorcas stood and watched as the began pasting parchment fairies and then sprinkling sparkles all over them. Aurora's was finished in seconds and once she was done it raised int to the air and flittered about, using its "wand" to make little fireworks. Aurora watched in wonder for a moment before helping Ariel with hers. Ariel's little fairy had much more going on. Dorcas looked down to see sparkle and feathers, colourful pieces of parchment and more feathers again. Aurora helped to add a little more sparkles and then the two fairies were off flying in the air, creating sparkling miniature fireworks while glitter trailed behind them.

"Amazing" was not quite the word Jasper thought was appropriate for today, but he smiled anyway, at least glad that Neve seemed to be enjoying herself, he supposed that was the sign of a good date, right? And obviously this meant he'd do pretty much anything for a pretty lady. In fairness Leo could have set him up with a complete troll and he would still have gone through with something as equally outrageous as this, after all he was a gentleman and he wanted to make sure his dates were happy and having a good time. "Wow." He said, looking about the shop as they made their way through, little children smiling and waving, "Did it get busier while we were in there?" He asked, it certainly seemed as though the amount of people in the shop had at least doubled since they'd been gone for all of three minutes.

There was no bond greater than that of sisters, Nala thought as Kiki seemed to read her soul perfectly. Wherever the wind took them was perfect for Nala who disliked solid plans, unless they revolved around the kids, for them she'd do anything, even get up early on a weekend and take them to a ridiculously crowded book store, "Perfect." She purred, looking at everyone they passed by, her eyes travelling to Shay and Naia as Kiki waved to someone. Nala turned her head to look at who she waved at just as Kiki had a little moan about not being able to escape work people on her day off, "At least he's cute," said Nala, glancing back for another look, "Is he on a date?" She asked, checking out the hot raven haired woman with the baby that was sat next to him, "Weird place for a date." She muttered, turning her attention back to Kiki and the kids.

The place was rather crowded and when Soph asked if she should put Su down, Love shrugged her shoulders, "I don't know," She said, "Maybe we could find a little pocket of space to set up camp in." She suggested, "Let me go ahead and get us a spot where Suse can crawl a little." She smiled, "Be back in minute cutie!" She smiled, at Suse. She'd learnt her lesson about ticking the babe under her chin earlier when Suse had taken that as an invite to grab Love's finger and jam it into her mouth. Babies were occasionally a little icky, but Love could handle that, she'd just washed her hands and learnt her lesson.
Making her way through the crowd, Love headed for the story telling area at the back of the garden, situated under a large tree. She side stepped a little between two people but apparently not fast enough as one bent over without checking that everything was clear, and their arse collided with Love's stomach sending her stumbling back into the other person she was squeezing past and she ended up on the floor, "Cheese and nuts." She groaned, lifting her hands up to check them. They were burning a little but thankfully only from the impact of the fall. She dusted her hands off and stood herself up, dusting the rest of herself off as she did so.

Mercifully, Pansy took after her mother in such a way that she was attractive enough to get away with a minor faux pas simply by laughing the event off. Dora was mortified by Pansy’s impressively loud burp but she schooled her features into something more nonchalant as Leo kindly made light of the situation. She wasn’t about to argue with a Healer. “I think the show is about to start.” Dora turned away from the gorgeous man and followed his gaze to a sight she was definitely not prepared for. Jasper, who she knew was going to be here to read stories to the children (for some reason) was in fancy dress. As a fairy. As a girl fairy! Dora’s mouth dropped with a silent laughter that soon turned to empathetic embarrassment. She had to cover her mouth with her hands because she was finding it incredibly difficult to shut her mouth. What on earth was happening? And why didn’t she have a camera at the ready?!

It made sense that Vienna did not recognize Dorian in the same way that he recognized her. They had only met the one time for the briefest of moments but he still had dreams of the woman who looked nearly identical to her at least once a month. He was not offended by her lack of recall in the slightest, though he caught the sneaking suspicion that Jules was finding it a bit more entertaining than he ought to. “Not really,” he answered his half-brother first before his dark eyes met with the woman’s and he answered her query next. “We had only met once. Briefly. Dorian Humbert, I knew your sister.” He withdrew his right hand from his pocket and extended it to her. “And you apparently know my brother. What a small world this is.” Impossibly miniscule. Was Julian dating Paris’ twin sister? No, he was certain Vienna was married and with children, one of which Jules was bouncing on his hip as they spoke, but regardless it was strange to see his brother with his former girlfriend’s sister and not have any idea as to what was going on. It was enough that Dorian didn't even pay any mind to the fact that Jasper had entered the garden in a fairy dress, much to the excitement of the children and a fair few of the adults as well.

This had to be uncomfortable for Dorian. There was no way he could look upon her beautifully sculptured face, a gift from the Gods, and not be torn asunder. "Oh, my," Her smile didn't falter, but he and Julian were brothers? She looked to Julian, eyes scolding him silently, ignoring Dorian's outstretched hand for a moment before her senses and her mind caught up with one another and she gave her right hand as a lady would, not to be shaken, she wasn't so crass as to shake a man's hand, but rather to be kissed, and perhaps it would stir some emotions in her sister's last lover. "This is all quite a coincidence." She said as she looked back to Dorian. Perhaps she could really poke the wound, although it had been quite sometime since her sister had died in her lovers arms, "Were you close with my sister?" She asked. It was no secret that Vienna and Paris had not seen eye to eye. Paris had been the black sheep of the James family and an attention seeker to boot. It was amusing that Paris had found herself a whore of Humbert's while Vienna was a close friend of Julian's. Two brother's that had no inclination of the other's existence back when relationships had been forged.

Clem greeted Lilith and Rabastan as nicely as she could without going overboard. She wanted to roll her eyes and ignore the icy blonde bitch but she had to engage, although Lilith demanding Lucian pick up Alec made Clem internally cringe. Evie would be getting an earful of what a twat Lilith was, tonight. Clem took Rabastan's seat that he'd offered when she'd arrived and when Lilith sat, too, Clem struck up a light, superficial conversation, wanting to drive her fingers into her sister-in-laws baby blue eyes.

"It's Thursday, mate," he replied, taking the piss out of Rabastan who looked as though he hadn't slept in a year, which he probably hadn't. His sister, in all her stature, insisted that their boys have a proper greeting and Lucian was more than willing to oblige. Scooping Alec up into his strong arms, Loosh raised the little fairy prince up to see his cousin. “Say hi, Alec.” With a huge, mostly toothless grin, Alexander squealed “huh” at his auntie and cousin. “One of his new favorite words,” Lucian boasted to his sister. Alec had mastered “mama” and “dada” as well as something that sounded to Lucian like “boobie” though he said it nearly all the time. Lucian and Clem were incredibly proud of their smart little boy who, between walking like a champ and beginning to talk so much they hardly ever had quiet in the house, was well on his way to being as brilliant as his mummy and daddy.
The fairies arrived to read the children stories and help them with their crafts, though Lucian was not altogether comfortable with the bloke wearing a dress around his boy. Lucian liked to think of himself as open-minded, but that sort of display wasn’t what he had been expecting when he agreed to bring his young son to the bookshop.

The book shop was only small, it couldn't hold that many people. She shook her head. "No, there's hardly anybody here," she answered. Besides, he had nothing to worry about, the kids in the shop were already giggling and pointing and looking thrilled at the sight of two new fairies in the room. Neve beamed at them and left Jasper at the craft table. "I'm so happy you're confident enough to do this," she told him. "It's a real turn on." Then Neve turned and headed for her own little corner which had been set up for story telling. She skipped as she went, fairy dress shimmering and swishing just perfectly. "Aww, this is sweet," she said to Nala, pausing behind Shay to peek over his shoulder at the picture he was colouring. A fairy prince. Nice. She glanced around at the other kids to see what they were doing, and then turned her attention to the fairy helper. And froze. "Jasper?" she mouthed, eyes wide. Jasper Flint. Healer. Respectable guy all around. In a fairy dress. Kiki pressed her lips together, trying to compose herself. Things were all good yesterday, then the devil took your breath away Love braved the crowd trying to find them a little bubble of space that would be safe for Susie to have her own little fairy party in, and Soph just stood there, scared to move. She was not one for being scared or not knowing what to do, but when it came to her baby sister she tended to find herself overthinking things, or worrying. What if she wandered into the crowd and someone bumped Susie? Soph would have to kick them in the shins and then explain to her mum and Gus why Su had a purple lump on her head. She trusted herself, but she didn't trust everyone around her to be careful and mindful of the precious bundle in her arms. Urgh.
