Finally Sully went for it, and about bloody time, too. There was a big build up of people waiting to get through and some cutie stuck holding the door. Luckily for Sully he didn't need a kick up the arse. As soon as they were in Nala was off, scotching around her awkward as hell brother to try and find something to drink before she got up to much else for the night. She spotted a hot blonde up on the stage in a tight red outfit, singing karaoke. She stared perhaps a little longer than was necessary but it was great to see 1. a hot blonde and 2. karaoke. She was definitely going to be belting out a few numbers tonight, but not before she grabbed a drink, so she made her way to the bar an waited her turn to be served.

A pinky promise was absolutely everything to Nala and her siblings and she’d helped teach Shay and Naia the importance of it too. What she would not be teaching them was her outstanding ability to hold a drink or twenty but it was a skill she was going to put to good use tonight at the party. “Uhhhh …” Nala stared at the door that they were supposed to enter through. Even as they got closer it didn’t seem as though her brother would fit, “Just bend down and go in sideways, if you get stuck, I’ll shove you in.” She said, not afraid to give her big brother ra good nudge in through a tiny door, “Besides, we don’t want to keep this bloke waiting at the door all night, and who knows, it might be enchanted to expand for your giant arse.” She teased. Sully was in great shape, not the best shape of his life, but still okay, and she had no doubts that her brother could take a comment about his arse.

Nala capped her lipstick as Sully called out to her and put it down on Sully’s bathroom sink. A quick pout in the mirror, a tussle of her hair and she was ready to go. “A shed?” She said, scrunching her face a little. A shed or a barn, that seemed weird, but whatever, as long as it was a good party, she’d be happy. As Sully knocked on the door, asking if she was ready, Nala pulled the door open, “Yes! I’m ready! Don’t bang the bloody door down.” She said, running her fingers through her hair and giving it a little shake. “Remember, what happens tonight is all hush-hush,” She said, looking back at him as she made her way through his house, “I don’t want Abby finding out about this, she’ll shit a brick.” She said, rolling her eyes and linking an arm with Sully. Her girlfriend wanted to stay in and talk, but Nala had told her she already had plans with Sully, and while she loved her girlfriend, Nala wasn’t sure if the talk they needed to have was going to be a good one or not. Probably not, to be fair, their relationship was rocky to say the least and going out tonight was only going to put a bigger strain on it.

Yes! A night out with her big bro! Nala loved Kiki but the woman had taken Sully to a party instead of her while she was going through a throughly shitty rough patch in her relationship and so Nala would never forgive her for that ... well she would, she did, Nala didn't really hold a grudge against her siblings, but she was still excited for a night out without her girlfriend, which caused yet another argument before she left for Sully's place, but she'd deal with the aftermath tomorrow, or in a few days, whatever. The school holidays were upon them and that meant lots of free time. Nala had a steady pay check coming in and absolutely no work to do for it. She absolutely had the easiest job at Hogwarts and she loved it. She never had to change up her lesson plans and when she wanted to wow the students she could get her brother in for a visit, sending the quidditch fans, and the Sully fans, absolutely nuts. She was easily the best teacher at Hogwarts and fully deserved a 'Professor' title, but sports got little recognition. "So what kind of thing is this?" She asked Sully, leaning over Sully's bathroom sink to get a better look at herself in the mirror, steadily applying a touch of lipstick.

Nala tried to hold in her laughter but she still wanted to blast it out loudly for the whole world to hear. This guy looked hilarious, but credit to him, he was posing for pictures, and he was even forcing a few smiles, too. It definitely put Nala in a better mood, she loved spending time with Sully's kids, they were the light of her life, but she was in some real need of venting to Kiki about Abby. Later, she kept telling herself, they'd have time later and they could drink and Nala could let Kiki in on everything that was going on but in the meantime she had to get her head into the game of babysitting, and this Jasper bloke had just made that a whole lot easier.

Weird. Well whatever, Nala directed her attention to her niece and nephew, as her sister indicated with all her tugging. The craft table. Well shit. That meant she’d be covered in glitter for the next three months, and just when she thought she’d seen the last of it, a speck would appear, probably on the side of her boob or something, making her wonder where in the hell that had been hiding for so long. “Whaaaaaaa-“ Nala had seen a lot of dress up in her time, she’d seen her fair share of fairy princesses, but she’d never before seen a bloke dressed up as a fairy princess in the middle of a book store event, or anywhere. What made it even funnier was that Kiki seemed to know that bloke, and while she was polite enough to hold back on laughing her arse off, Nala was not. She laughed, quietly at least, and she didn’t seem to be the only one enjoying the action as Kiki’s work friend came up with his kid and insisted on a picture, only making Nala laugh louder. Well who knew that this was going to be such an enjoyable day!

There was no bond greater than that of sisters, Nala thought as Kiki seemed to read her soul perfectly. Wherever the wind took them was perfect for Nala who disliked solid plans, unless they revolved around the kids, for them she'd do anything, even get up early on a weekend and take them to a ridiculously crowded book store, "Perfect." She purred, looking at everyone they passed by, her eyes travelling to Shay and Naia as Kiki waved to someone. Nala turned her head to look at who she waved at just as Kiki had a little moan about not being able to escape work people on her day off, "At least he's cute," said Nala, glancing back for another look, "Is he on a date?" She asked, checking out the hot raven haired woman with the baby that was sat next to him, "Weird place for a date." She muttered, turning her attention back to Kiki and the kids.

The joys of a part-time job at Hogwarts meant that Nala was able to work decent hours and didn't have to stick around for school holidays. Naturally, should Dumbledore need her, she'd be there in a heartbeat, but that had never happened and she doubt it ever would. While Dumbledore was headmaster Hogwarts was a fortress and there were so many staff above her to call in. She was basically at the bottom of the list, which suited her just fine, because she had two incredible little angels she looked after. It just so happened that it was Easter Saturday and Kiki had the day off; no on call or anything. The sisters were together and they had Shay and Naia with them so something kid-friendly was on the cards. They'd go drinking later, once the kids were back with their dad. The girls needed so much needed down time together.
"Yes! Of course you can have all the ice cream, after the stories." Nala would agree to just about anything for her little cherubs. Naia bounced off through the book store and to the back, following Shay and a fully grown fairy. "Where are we hitting up later?" She pulled a book off the shelf and had a peek before putting it back and following the kids outside. She needed a night - or afternoon - out with her sister, she needed to let off steam about Abi and she wasn't going to moan about her grilfriend with the kids around, but she was sorely in need of some grown-up chat. Looking about Nala noted there seemed to be a lot of younger kids, more Naia's age than Shay's, but he was a good kid, he knew how to keep himself entertained, and if he wanted, she'd get Kiki to buy him a book to read, because it was always better spending Kiki's money, she was the more successful sister from Nala's perspective.

PERSONALITY Boggart: Shay and Naia dead on the floor.
Mirror of Erised: Her surfing on the waves along the beach she grew up next to. The UK is her home but she will always long for Hawai'i.
Patronus: Nene - Anything and everything about growing up in Hawai'i! Family, beaches, friends, surfing, flowers, sunshine, rain. Just everything!
Nalani, or Nala as she prefers to be called, is a social butterfly. She loves to interact and chat with almost anyone about anything. She's a bit of a chatterbox and has been known to chat the hind legs off a donkey! She just enjoys talking, non stop, about everything. If there's a lull in any conversation she finds a way to fill it. Whatever little thought pops into her head she'll say out loud. Sometimes its gotten her into trouble, for example when she told Professor Binns that his lesson was more like a lecture and less 'lecture' and more 'torture'. She stands by everything she says, too. She's certain she's always right, but if you can prove she's wrong then Nala will apologise, admit to being wrong and probably buy you an ice cream sundae to make up for having probably been a bit of an arse. Which she can be. She can get very intense at times.
That's the social side of 'Social Butterfly' covered and now for the Butterfly portion. Nala absolutely loves nature. Flowers, birds, bees, trees, random sticks, she just loves it all. Having grown up so close to a beach she's always been a free spirit. She loves to swim and she loves to take in nature. Her magic is at its strongest when she's in nature. She flits around from space to space, enjoying everything from sunshine to rain. She can also be a little deaf like a butterfly, often so engrossed in what she's doing that she barely notices another person around. She loves to fly and has a love of Quidditch. She's always followed her brother's career and supported him in all his matches, unless they'd been against her at Hogwarts.
Romantically Nala has been all over the place, too. She's had long-term relationships and she's had a few (*cough*bunch*cough**cough*) of one night stands. She's into both guys and girls and doesn't have a preference. Currently she's in a long term relationship with a girl she met through a friend but she feels as though there's a little lull in the relationship. In true Nala style she'll keep on pushing through until the relationship just deteriorates. She does have dreams of someday settling down, maybe even having a family, but right now she just loves being favourite aunty (yeah, you read that right, Kiki!) to her sweet nephew Shay and her darling niece Naia, totally named after her, Nala likes to say!
Being a bit of a chatterbox with not a whole lot of filter, Nala's kind of accidentally pissed people off. She's never intentionally gone into a conversation with the aim of annoying someone, apart from one time involving a cute guy when she was a teenager and didn't know how to flirt, but she's usually pretty oblivious to anyone holding a grudge against her. If she does realise that someone's got a grudge then she'll go out of her way to make it up to them. She's got a kindness that just can't be bought.

The third born child, and second daughter, to Haunani Akela and Zachariah Sullivan was the final child for the couple. She was a bit younger than her brother and sister but she never really noticed until they'd gone away to Hogwarts. Growing up she'd seen them able to do things and she'd just always assumed she could do them too, and most of the time she wasn't wrong. She just went head first into situations and somehow managed to do what she was intending. Surfing, flying, hand stands, cartwheels, swimming - she just loved it all. With a bit of practice she got better over time. She wasn't so successful at roller skating, breaking her arm on her second attempt, but it healed up quickly with a little of her grandmother's magic. Overall Nala had an incredible childhood. She loved the magical village they lived in and when it was time for her formal magical education, she was highly tempted to attend Illvermorny. It was the school her mother had gone to and it was in America, she wouldn't be too far from home if she went here. However all the tales she'd heard from Kiki and Sully about their time at Hogwarts just pulled her in. She went to Hogwarts, nervous but excited. She made a friend on the train ride and was sorted into Hufflepuff. Perhaps not the best student she could have been, Nala would chat in lessons and would either not do her homework - earning her detentions - or rush it an hour before her lesson was due to start because there was nothing more soul crushing than having to write about such boring subject matter. Wasn't the fact that she could do it enough proof that she'd learnt it? There were exceptions. She loved Care of Magical Creatures and she was a dab hand at Potions. Herbology was great fun although she did mess around in that quite a bit. People would often underestimate her abilities because she was always so slack with her classes, but really she was pretty good at the practical side of everything magical, she just really disliked the writing of essays. A whole parchment of a spell to turn a feather into a mouse?! Why!?! After graduation Nala went straight back to Hawai'i. She was so happy to be there but the lifestyle just didn't suit her, not twenty-four seven. After eighteen months of living in Hawai'i, Nala moved back to the UK and got a job tutoring potions in the summer holidays. She loved it, she had a real knack for teaching. She got a job in a book shop and then a clothing store. She bounced around from shop to shop and made a lot of friends. She goes to Hawai'i every year for a couple of weeks. Sometimes, if she needs it, she'll sneak off for a second trip. She finds she gets asked a lot of questions about her brother and she's happy to let everyone know about how impossibly loud his snoring is, or how much he farts. Having worked in retail for quite some time, Nala craved a change of scenery. It gave her a lot of time to spend with her niece and nephew, who she positively adores, but she couldn't be stuck indoors any more, so she got a job at Hogwarts, teaching flying of all things and refereeing Quidditch matches. She absolutely loves it! It's only a part-time position and she still tutors during the summer holidays, but she believes she's found an incredible life-work balance, perfect for her.
