Dipping her toes in the water. That's all she was doing. Salem had no idea if this was the sort of thing that people would like or not. This was supposed to be a fun afternoon for the kids, something in the fairy garden she'd put together out the back. She hoped to Merlin that people turned up, flyers had been out for a while now and it was finally time to get on and do this. There were drawing tables set up for kids that liked to keep their hands busy. There were costumes to wear for any children that hadn't dressed up but might want to. She had her cousin joining in with a friend that Salem had two fairy costumes for and she had both of her shop assistants in for the day to help any customers while Salem was out the back, hopefully doing a good job of keeping the children entertained.
Ten minutes to go. Salem looked out the front of the shop as people started entering. There were a few little girls dressed up as fairies and she spotted a little boy dressed as an elf. It brought a smile to her face as she greeted them all and guided them through her shop to the garden where a few little activities were set up along with a little children's reading area, however she was now beginning to think that she didn't have enough space, but she would manage. There wouldn't be anyone left out. If Neve and her friend didn't arrive soon, then Salem was just going to have to get started without them, not that it mattered, Salem was sure she could do this on her own. Maybe. Probably Yeah, she definitely could, although it would be a lot easier with others lending a helping hand with bubbles and colouring and hopefully controlling the children. Who knew what sort of stampede they could cause.

Leo's set ups hadn't been the greatest. Jasper appreciated that his mate didn't want him to be lonely, but Jasper wasn't all that great at dating, to be fair. He could be awkward, he could be too nice, he could be too much of himself. Apparently that could be quite off putting and didn't deserve a second chance. Still, for some reason Leo kept trying, and as long as Leo kept trying to set Jasper up, Jasper would continue going on dates with girls Leo thought were 'the one'.
Today was an odd day for a date, Jasper thought. He didn't know much about his date for this morning beyond her being Leo's cousin and that they were meeting at a bookshop in Godric's Hollow. Jasper had been there for five minutes, waiting out the front of the store, looking about for Neve based on the description Leo had given him, but honestly, he was beginning to think that he had the wrong place, especially when families started walking in with their children in costumes. What was this place and what in the heck was going on? Jasper was beginning to wonder if this was some kind of prank that Leo was playing on him but he quickly brushed that thought aside, knowing that Leo wouldn't be so mean. So Jasper waited, patiently, for his date to arrive. If 'date' was even the right word. It was nearing ten thirty in the morning. That wasn't exactly 'date' time.

Beautiful dreamer, wake unto me starlight and dewdrops are awaiting thee It was a nice day for early April. The sun was shining, the cold weather had kindly buggered off, and Neve could wear dresses without sleeves for a change. It was wonderful. And to top it all off, she was going on a special Easter date with one of her cousins handsome friends. Leo had a lot of good looking friends, Neve had noticed, and today she was meeting someone she'd never crossed paths with before. Or at least, she didn't remember ever running into Jasper Flint at any of Leo's parties. She wasn't one for paying attention to her surroundings at such events, so maybe she had, but if she didn't remember it, it never happened, right? Right. It was fresh, new, exciting. And she had managed to fit her date and her promise to help her other cousin, Salem, all into the one occasion. She had felt so smart after organising that one. Sunglasses on, though they may not have been completely necessary in the weak spring sun, she sauntered down the street towards Salem's bookshop, offering admiring glances and comments at all of the families turning up with their children dressed in the most adorable fairy and elf costumes. They looked fabulous, and Neve almost felt broody until she remembered that having babies ruined your body. Still, she loved other people's kids. Today was going to be so much fun! She spotted a gorgeous man standing outside of Salem's Lot, looking up and down the street. That had to be him. He was around Leo's age, she thought, and there was no one else to fit the bill in the area. "Jasper?" she asked as she approached the man, taking off her sunglasses to get a better look at him. Damn. "Wow, Leo never mentioned how handsome you are!"_______________________ tag: Jasper Ignatius Flint and Salem Lyric Rose and everyone! words: 339 notes: <3 outfit: For now. template by izzy[googlefont="Charmonman"][googlefont="Cinzel Decorative"]

Stay out, and we'll live forever now Neve had told him what today would involve and Leo had excitedly encouraged his cousin. Shamelessly so. He had pushed her and Jasper together for a blind date to see if they'd hit it off, Merlin knew Jasper needed a woman, and his cousin was single and a stunner, so he saw no reason not to give it a shot. He'd been delighted to hear that Neve had planned to ask Jasper along to a book reading she'd agreed to help out with. Dressed as fairies. Camera slung around his neck, Leo had arranged to have Blaise for the day, not feeling like rocking up to a kids event without a child. Kara didn't really have a say, he minded her son at the drop of a hat whenever she demanded, he would bloody well take him somewhere fun when he fancied. The one year old had been dressed up in an adorable fairy costume for the day, complete with little sword and handsome shoes, and he looked good enough to eat. Leo was pleased as punch. Excited didn't really cover it. He'd actually mentioned to all of Jasper's friends that this was going down. Jasper was the only one who didn't know what was about to happen on his date. Maybe he'd enjoy it and end up happily married to Neve one day down the line, there was no telling. Blaise on his hip, Leo meandered through the brand new book shop to the area out back which had been set up like a fairy garden. "Wow, they did a good job here, didn't they. Look at the fairies, Blaise. Shall we go and play?" Blaise was nodding enthusiastically and kicking his legs to get down, so Leo let him loose, keeping a close eye on the tot as he toddled over to a table set up with fairy colouring pages, grabbing a crayon and scribbling over everything in sight. Leo found himself a seat nearby and settled in, making sure his camera was ready to roll at a moments notice. _______________________ tag: Everyone! words: 375 notes: <3 outfit: Happiest man in the room! When the world's against me is when I really come alive Dorian had mentioned a kids event happening in Whimsic Alley, and Jules hadn't been sure whether he'd be able to make it or not. He was supposed to be working, but he'd managed to swap his shift, and now he was stood inside the new book shop with the weird name watching Tristan run around with a group of little girls dressed as fairies. Tristan was also dressed up as a fairy prince. He had on a little waistcoat with gold trim, fairy pants and shiny boots. His hair was mussed up, golden curls sticking up in every direction, and he looked like a dashing miniature version of Jules. He was adorable. They were both adorable, and Jules leaned against the wall at the back of the shop, checking the clock every now and then. He wasn't unhappy at the event, it just wasn't his kind of thing. He did enjoy seeing Tristan having a nice time, and he'd stay as long as his son wanted, but he hoped they would get to the main event soon. _______________________ tag: Everyone! words: 210 notes: <3 outfit: Too sexy for this shop. // Tristan template by izzy [googlefont="Dancing Script"][googlefont="Cinzel Decorative"]

She was a little bit ruined a beautiful disaster but she was magic
A year ago, Dora had been out partying with friends and flirting from across the pool with all of London’s handsome healer mates. Now she was attending a children’s book reading and pushing a pram about; my how things could change so quickly. At least she wasn’t a bulbous cow this Easter. She hadn’t shied away from wearing a skimpy bikini to Lo’s Easter barbeque, even eight months pregnant, but she much preferred to saunter when showing off her body instead of waddling around like an overweight penguin. It was easy enough to add the stretchmarks of pregnancy on her stomach, thighs, and breasts to the long list of scars she hid magically every morning (or afternoon, depending on when she actually got up). One long scar running up the length of her leg from knee to hip from where a chandelier fell on her during an attack on a shop she’d happen to be in by Death Eaters some years ago, numerous scars across her thighs from severing charms used on herself to quell the pain of existence that were becoming less commonplace thanks to her newest addiction, and most recently the little puncture wounds on various parts of her body from Hunter’s enchantingly erotic vampiric bite. She was a sight to behold without her vanity charms in place, but there was one useful thing Rebekah Parkinson had instilled in her daughter from a very young age that Dora could never be anything but thankful for; worth is in the eye of the beholder, and attractive witches catch more kind eyes than dowdy ones.
Assuming she and Pansy would arrive fashionably late for the fairy book storytelling, Dora was slightly miffed as she pulled open the bookshop door and pushed Pansy’s pram inside, having realized that she had gotten the time wrong. They weren’t early nor late, but rather right on time which meant their arrival didn’t have the same impact as she’d been hoping for. She was fresh faced and all dolled up for the occasion and she was expecting people to turn and stare when she entered. The only person who seemed to notice her was Pansy as she squealed happily and looked back at her mum before reaching for a plush rabbit that was waving at the children as they came in. “You’ve plenty of stuffies at home, lovey.” Pansy didn’t seem to understand but Dora pushed her further into the shop and let the door swing shut behind them. “Auntie Alice said Jasper is going to be here to read to you, won’t that be fun? A handsome bloke reading a story just for you, you’re a lucky little girl. Mummy needs to get lucky soon or else she’s going to explode.” Dora muttered the last bit under her breath to herself, green eyes scanning the little shop for where the storytelling would be taking place. There was a sign pointing guests out to a garden patio and Dora followed, hips swaying prominently as she heard the door open behind her and wanted to ensure any eligible bachelors that might be entering got a good look at what was on offer before she was sitting with a bunch of other mums with a toddler on her lap.
There was already a little crowd of children running around, most dressed like fairies and pixies, though a few clearly had dullards for parents and were just wearing normal everyday clothes. Pansy was most certainly not one of them. Smothered head to toe in tulle and frills, Pansy would have been the perfect little fairy had she not screamed bloody murder every time Dora attempted to fix her fairy wings on the back of her dress, but was perfectly content with tiny butterflies surrounding her everywhere else. So she was a non-flying fairy, she was still the most adorable little one at the event. And the most easily contained, by the looks of it. Pansy wasn’t walking yet, so her only options for the story was to sit in her pram or in her mummy’s lap. Dora’s heels were too tall today for her to be able to let Pansy hold her hands while she tried to take a few steps, but that was probably for the better. A pair of girls, twins by the looks of it, ran past Dora and Pansy, nearly running smack into the side of the pram before zig-zagging around it at the last second. “And that’s why you’re never allowed to learn to run, Pans. Reckless little monsters,” she said with a grin, coming further out into the garden and having a look around. She spied a few familiar faces but one stuck out as particularly handsome and so Dora turned Pansy’s pram and headed in the direction of one Healer Leo Somethingorother. “Fancy seeing you here,” she said with a flirting tone, taking a seat near Leo without waiting to be offered one. She parked the stroller in front of her, Pansy facing Leo where she would be sure to get all the compliments on her outfit. Dora was hoping for a few herself. “Do you often come to children’s events by yourself?” she inquired, not remembering him mentioning a child of his own on their last encounter.

Jasper was waiting patiently, a lot of people were passing him by, entering the shop and then an extremely attractive woman approached him, saying his name and taking off her sunglasses. Jasper smiled. She seemed lovely already, extremely flattering. "I was starting to think I was in the wrong place." He chuckled. He hadn't expected a first date to be at a bookstore, especially when it looked as though there was a kids event about to take place inside. "You look stunning, by the way." He complimented in a way he hoped was friendly and not at all off-putting. "Are we headed inside or off to somewhere else?" He asked curiously with a smile, praying that this was just a meeting spot and that they weren't headed into a book reading for children that seemed to be advertised in the window that he was now just noticing. Did she have a child he didn't know about? He wouldn't have minded at all if she did, however he would definitely have found it strange if she brought a child along on a first date. What the hell had Leo got him in to!?

The shop was getting busier than Salem had expected. She greeted everyone, an uncontrollable smile on her face from all the people and the excitement. "Here you go." She said, reaching across a table for a crayon for a little girl that couldn't quite reach. Salem was enjoying seeing her shop so full of people but she wished Neve and her friend would hurry up. They still had a couple more minutes but Salem wanted everything to be perfect, at least this first time, anyway.
Salem headed back into the shop from the garden, greeting more people as they looked around the shop. Everyone had a child or two or three and it was all so exciting! There were a lot of little ones that she hoped she could encourage a love of reading and adventure in. There was so much to see and do for the little ones that she hoped at least half would come back the next time!

Julian had mentioned doing something with the kids. Vienna had to check her schedule and it seemed that the date he'd proposed was doable. Fairy and Elf theme reading at the new book store in Mystic Alley, Godric's Hollow. It seemed different and child orientated so Vienna was wiling to take her two little ones along, despite the probability that they'd be mingling with half-bloods and possibly even muggleborns. At least the muggleborns were easy to spot these days and they made for easy targets, not that Vienna would be targeting anyone today, today was all about the kids.
With Maxi and Tilly all dressed up, Vienna walked into the busy book shop where she was told to head to the back and to the garden. This was an outdoor thing? At least the weather was nice enough for it, she supposed, although the shop could do with being a little more spacious. She spotted Julian leaning against a wall, looking so effortlessly casual she wanted to roll her eyes. Was he trying to attract a single mother? "Are we cramping your style?" She asked with a smirk as Maxi tugged at her dress. Vienna hoisted Tilly up in her arms a little more, moving the fairy wings out of the way a little and looked down at Maxi, "Mummy, can I play with Tristy?" Vienna looked up and about, spotting Tristan, "Of course darling. Have fun." She turned to look at Jules, "Go to uncle Jules a moment, Tilly," She said holding the one year old towards Julian, definitely destroying the loner look he seemed to have made for himself, feeling her dress was a little uneven with having adjusted her hold of Tilly on one side while Maxi had tugged at the other.

It was rare that Dorcas was on time for anything like this but today she was making an effort for Aurora. She'd not bothered telling Roddy what they'd be up to but she had mentioned she was taking Aurora out for the day so not to make any plans for her. Usually Aurora was off all over the place on weekends. She visited her grandparents and aunts and uncles, but this weekend Dorcas actually had some time off and decided to spend it with her girl. "Sure," She shrugged as Aurora asked if she could have a pair of sparkly high-heeled shoes. They were for kids, how high could they be? The shop assistant helped Aurora get into a pair and wobble for a second. "Cute." Dorcas said with a nod of her head. "Go get the matching bag." She told the shop girl. Dorcas hated shopping for clothes and just about anything girly, but shoes were her weakness. She had hundreds of shoes and naturally you couldn't get shoes without getting a handbag. "After this we'll head to the book shop." She told Aurora, "Can I wear my new shoes?!" she asked with a squee, "Nope." Said Dorcas, leaving it at that. Aurora frowned, not happy with that answer, "But I want to wear them!" she said, stomping her foot and falling down. Dorcas winced but quickly hid it while Aurora sobbed. "Come here." She said, trying not to laugh at her daughter's tantrum that resulted in a bugger of a fall, "I've got you." She helped Aurora up and then picked her up, holding onto her while Aurora sobbed into the crook of Dorcas' neck. After a good five minutes of dramatics and the shop help quietly asking if there was anything they could do, Aurora was back up and up to her usual tantrums. "Well we can just leave and not get you anything if you'd prefer?" Said Dorcas with a shrug. Aurora hadn't liked that so she'd settled for a new handbag to go with her fairy costume and the rest of their shopping was sent home.
Dorcas walked hand in hand with Aurora up the street until they got to the book shop. She spotted Jasper out front with a hotty and made her way in with fairy princess Aurora. She was definitely going to keep an eye on whatever was going on there! Who was she? Were they a thing? Was Jasper dating and she didn't know about it!? She'd get the details later. This was definitely going to call for a few drinks with Tersha and a massive gossip sesh. "Go have fun, I'll be about." She said to Aurora who happily bounded off, her wings magically twitching away behind her, making her look like a real fairy about to take flight. Maybe later Dorcas would take her out for a fly on her broom so she could go more than three foot off the ground, or whatever it was those kids brooms let them do. Dorcas made her way farther into the shop, looking about at the shelves and looking for any familiar faces.

Reading was something Lilith did every day with her darling boy. Her little Prince was three months old and Lilith still wasn't up to taking him out on her own. He cried with her a lot less now after Lucian's advice but she still didn't feel confident playing mummy. She'd always thought it was a role that would come naturally to her but she was struggling far more than she'd care to admit. It wouldn't have been so bad but Rabastan seemed to have taken to fatherhood like a Hippocampus to water. Lilith was struggling and her husband wasn't. It wasn't that she wanted him to be an awful father, but could he at least struggle here and there occasionally?
For today's outing they were in Mystic Alley looking like the perfect family. Nathaniel was the most magical little being in his father's arms. Despite having his arms full with their precious bundle, Rabastan still held the door open for her and she walked into the book store. He was effortless and handsome and while she still put all her effort into her beauty, she just wish he'd fail at something. Just once. Although not publicly, she couldn't deal with that humiliation right now.

Stay out, and we'll live forever now It didn't take long for someone to join him, and Leo was quite pleased with who it was. Dora Parkinson, the beautiful young witch who he'd ran into quite a few times now. His first meeting with her had been when she'd been in labour with the adorable bundle who now sat in a pram dressed like a butterfly fairy. It was strange seeing the kid now, sitting up, babbling, being a real person instead of a ball of squish squeezing its way through its mothers insides. Okay, he didn't think of unborn babies that way, but she certainly looked like a big girl now. Leo grinned at Dora as she sat down, turning the pram to face him. "Looks like it's my lucky day. Two beautiful princesses to keep me company." He beamed down at the baby, but spared a flirty glance for Dora, who looked impeccable, as she did every time he saw her. He glanced over at Blaise, still scribbling away happily and nodded his head to the tot. "I'm here with my nephew," he explained. "Hey, Blaise, come over here and see the baby!" he called, Blaise turning his head, eyes wide with interest. He toddled over to Leo and peered into the pram. "Baby. Fairy." He reached a small hand out and touched the baby's dress admiringly. Leo raised his camera and snapped a quick picture, then realised his mistake. "Sorry," he said to Dora. Don't be afraid I'll take the blow for you An enchanted reading in a new book shop seemed like a simple enough afternoon for the new family of three. They could handle that. They totally could. Rabastan had been gearing himself up all morning for it, convincing himself that they would make it through the event without Nathaniel screaming the shop down and making a holy spectacle out of them. He had gotten better since Lilith had started to wear a bit less perfume, but he was still a crier. Rabby hated to admit it, but he really was. He was a crying ball of whingyness. But he was beautiful, and he was a pureblood prince, magical royalty. It didn't matter if he cried a lot. Rabby loved his son unconditionally, and he was quite happy with how well he was taking to this parenting thing. He liked to think time with Aurora had prepared him a little bit. He was a good uncle, and a better father. He carried Nathaniel as they strolled down the sunny street towards the book shop, opening the door for Lilith, his grip on the baby tightening just a little bit. The room seemed impossibly dark when they stepped inside, and Rabby took off his sunglasses, blinking to let his eyes adjust from the bright light outside. The place was packed already, and he hoped they would get a decent seat for the reading. He would drag someone out of their chair to make sure Lilith was seated at the very least, though he hoped it wouldn't come to that. Glancing around, he leaned in to speak quietly to his wife. "It looks like everyone is going outside," he said, bouncing Nathaniel a little bit as he fussed in his sleep. His gaze fell on Dorcas across the other side of the room, and he immediately looked away. He wouldn't be talking to her today, not with Lilith by his side, the two didn't like each other one bit and he wouldn't be stirring the hornet's nest if he could help it. Leading the way outside, he dodged Meadowes like the dragon pox and tried to find him and Lilith a seat. _______________________ tag: Lilith A. C. She was a little bit ruined a beautiful disaster but she was magic
Dora's lips curled upward as Leo complimented her and Pansy. He was incredibly charming and then there was that smile.... If they'd not been in a room full of children, Dora might have reacted very strongly to that smile but managed, somehow, to keep herself together. Leo explained he was here with his nephew and pointed out a little boy in an adorable costume. "Oh Merlin, isn't he precious!" she exclaimed softly as the toddler hurried over to get a look at Pansy.
Pansy was thrilled at having a new face to look at, squealing and giggling in a way that often gave Dora headaches but at the moment it was too cute to look away from. A camera clicked next to her and then Leo apologized. It was a strange reaction to taking a picture, but Dora supposed she liked being asked permission before her daughter's image wound up Merlin knows where. "Of course not. Pansy's going to be a model, she needs loads of practice in front of a camera. Isn't that right, love?" Dora smoothed a stray curl on Pansy's head and then flicked one of the butterflies on the infant's dress to make it wiggle for Blaise and Pansy. Pansy squealed and reached for the butterfly, her hands clasping around it and shoving it into her to suck on happily.
"Are you having fun with your uncle?" Dora asked, leaning forward and talking in a more gentle tone to the little boy. She was secretly wondering why anyone would name their child after fire, and hoping there wasn't another nephew or niece wandering around named Smoke or Ember. Actually, Ember was sort of a cute name if you were going with a fire theme to match Blaze.

Stay out, and we'll live forever now "A model?" Leo gave Pansy an appraising look. "She'd be a supermodel, but I think she looks more like a Healer." He flashed a cheeky smile at Dora. Blaise was busy poking at the butterflies on the baby's dress, but he paused to nod at Dora when she spoke to him. He had really nice manners, something Leo adored in kids, and though he wasn't talking properly yet, he'd mastered please and thank you and other basics well enough. Blaise pulled out his toy sword and held it out to Dora so she could see it, a smile not too dissimilar to Leo's on his little face. Leo watched for a minute before ruining the moment with chit chat again. "I see you took my name advice," he said, remembering the hospital when she'd been pretending not to be in agony and he'd been offering up suggestions on what to name her baby if it was a girl. She'd expected a boy, but she seemed happy enough with her lot. A mini Dora wasn't such a bad thing. _______________________ tag: Euphadora Rose Parkinson and Everyone! words: 217 notes: <3 outfit: Happiest man in the room!
