Dorcas watched as the girls danced. They seemed to be enjoying themselves, which was good, but the fact he she didn’t have a drink meant that the day was passing by at an impossibly slow pace. Another child joined the girls and Dorcas kind of recognised him. Tristan, Julian’s child, although how anyone could have a child with that massive twat was anyone’s guess. Dorcas highly suspected something untoward had happened, but she had nothing to back that up so she had to keep her mouth shut. “At least the kids are having a good time.” She said, folding her arms and looking about the place, her eyes scanning the scene, people enjoying themselves, although Dorcas could see one sour face standing out from the crowd, not that she was surprised her sister in law was a little bitch about the day. Why had they even bothered coming? Tristan called for Dorian to watch him and Dorcas watched the girls, and Tristan, as they tried to dance. “He’s got your moves.” She smirked, giving Dorian a gentle nudge with her elbow.

Lilith scowled at Clementine as she wandered off with the wretched little creature that Euphadora had brought into existence. Lilith had heard all sorts of rumours that Dora had no idea who the father was, and Lilith could believe it, the girl never kept her legs shut, it was quite a wonder that this sort of thing hadn’t happened sooner to the silly little witch.
Rabastan joined Lilith, whose face lifted as she had reason to smile again. She took Nathantiel into her arms and cradled her darling sone, “Honestly Rabastan, why would you give a thought to that woman and whatever it is she’s up to.” Lilith stood, “We’re leaving, I’ve had quite enough of this horrid afternoon.” It was too busy, there was absolutely nothing for her young prince to do and the there was riff raff absolutely everywhere. Lilith was just done with the place and began leaving the spot they were sat.

“A pleasure.” She smiled. Vienna had kept a soft, straight face. She didn’t want to appear too harsh or as though she was enjoying herself, but the sight of Tristan bonding with his uncle Dorian was both amusing and a cause for concern. Tristan seemed to like his uncle, which Vienna couldn’t see as a good thing. Julian didn’t need the likes of goody-two-shoes getting involved in his life, especially one that was so closely associated with blood traitors. On the other hand, seeing Tristan ditch his father was quite funny. “So that was your brother.” Vienna had heard Julian bitch about his pompous half-brother before, but names were never really brought up as it was a subject rather not talked about, “You never mentioned he was so tightly entwined with blood traitors.” She said, ignoring that Max had started pulling books from their temporary shelving set up for the event.

He stared at the woman telling the story nearest them for a few seconds before standing up and following Lilith out of the shop. She was right, there was nothing there for Nathaniel, not while he was this young, and Rabby was honestly desperate for a bit of comfort. "Perhaps if we'd been more forthcoming with details we might have figured out that our estranged siblings dated. Fancy telling me about that?" Jules gave her a look that said he wouldn't give up until she did tell him everything, so she might as well just spill all of the juicy details. There were a lot of secrets that Vienna was keeping from Julian, and she always had the impression that he kept a fair amount of his own. Their relationship worked because they respected one another’s privacy, however it seemed they’d missed out on months of being able to torture Julian’s estranged brother purely because they rarely discussed their lives outside of one another, and now Julian seemed to want to change that, at least a little. “Fine,” She said, rolling her eyes, noticing her little angel drifting off on Julian, “I heard tell that when my sister died,” was murdered, “She died in her lover’s arms, that he was an auror. I looked into him and that’s it really.” Juicy enough? Probably not for the likes of Jules, “I met him once before in a book shop, he wouldn’t let Ariel have any fun,” At least that was the way Vienna had seen it, “I didn’t realise at the time that it was your Ariel.” Vienna hadn’t really met Ariel before, nor after. Tristan she’d met quite a few times and he was even having sleepovers with them, but Ariel hadn’t had play dates with the kids. “I need a drink.” She muttered, wishing there was a bar in the bookshop.

He couldn't help but wonder why he'd never been privy to this information before now. Was it simply a case of Dorian not wanting to open old wounds by sharing? Or was Jules just not worthy of this type of inside information in the eyes of his half brother? Dorian had had enough opportunity to mention it, he had been the one Julian had turned to when Scarlett had died, that would have been a prime opportunity to mention his own experience. Lost in thought, Jules rocked Tilly some more, and then glanced up when Vienna mentioned needing a drink. He gently passed Tilly back to her with a smirk. "Well, not today, love, I'm going to get my Ariel."
Jules sauntered off across the little book shop to find his niece, spotting her dancing with Tristan and Dorcas' step daughter. Resisting the urge to make any snide comments Dorcas' way, Jules grinned at the kids, pleased when Ariel spotted him and danced his way. "There she is," Jules said, dropping to his knees to wrap Ariel in a tight hug. She squeezed him back. "Uncy Jules! Come and dance!" Jules glanced up at Dorian, avoiding looking at Dorcas altogether, and set his jaw. Dance with a fairy in a book shop full of kids? He could see River's gleeful smile in his mind, imagine her taking pictures for a family album. He couldn't say no. "Okay, sweetheart. You show me what to do." There was never any trouble remembering exactly where she was meant to go whenever Hunter called her, but without his summons Dora struggled to remember where the vampire lived. There had been times when she felt the hunger for his bite but had no means of seeking him out. It was frustrating to say the least, but at this moment she only felt an eager excitement as she arrived outside of the little church the vampire ironically called home. The door was unlocked, as it always was when she was called to him, and Dora let herself in as she unbuttoned the collar of her top expectantly.

Alec was happily roaming among the crowds but his walking wasn’t strong enough yet that Lucian felt comfortable in allowing his to travel anywhere without holding his hands. The toddler’s arms were stretched up over his head as daddy waddled along behind him, half hunched to reach his son’s little hands. They chased some fairies and Alec gnawed on a crayon before Lucian scooped up the little lad and they headed back to mummy for some cuddles, only Clem wasn’t where he’d left her and she was no longer child-free. “Is that Dora’s girl?” he asked as he approached, Alec sitting on his shoulders like a giant, tugging on his father’s hair. “Is mummy getting busy in the loo with a stranger?” he asked Pansy in a sing-songy voice, knowing the child couldn’t understand him and half expecting his wife to slap him for speaking of her friend so poorly – and accurately.

Dorcas nudged him playfully, to which Dorian replied “you’ve not seen my moves,” implying that perhaps Tristan was a tad bit better than his uncle, when in truth Dorian was quite good at some forms of dancing; fairy party dancing not being one of them. Thankfully, his brother saved him from having to join in the dancing by making a spectacle of himself for Ariel’s sake. Dorian spotted Leo nearby with his nephew and, conveniently, a camera. Unaware that Leo had spent all his film mocking their mutual friend only minutes earlier, he nodded his head in Leo’s direction and said “hey mate. Mind capturing a bit of this?” Dorian gestured to Julian, Ariel, Tristan, and Aurora who were all dancing with the story-telling fairy. Pictures of this moment would go perfect in his photo albums.

Dorcas chuckled at Dorian, "I've seen a few of your moves." She said, knowingly. He was a pretty good dancer, he was better than her when he'd taken her for a little spin around his apartment a couple of years back. "Although I would love to get you dancing in a nightclub." And she would have, if only he wasn't a stick in the mud. The one time she'd actually seen him in a nightclub he'd stood around, doing practically nothing. The next time she had a case that required going to a night club, she was taking Dorian along with her. The idea of Dorian in a nightclub kept her distracted from noticing Julian ignoring her. She didn't really give a crap that he was there, although Dorcas was always about 85% suspicious of his motives for just about anything. He was a sneaky kind and Dorcas really didn't like him much.

She was twirling her wand, and acting out all of the parts, and Blaise was clapping excitedly. He stood up to join in, and Leo took a few pictures to show Kara later. A larger figure joined in not too far away, and Leo looked up to see Dorian's brother dancing with Ariel. Leo glanced around, spotting Dorian a few feet away with Meadowes. Again, Leo had to wonder what those two saw in each other, it was such a weird pairing. Dorian asked him to take a few snaps of his brother dancing, and Leo chuckled, lifting his camera and clicking away as Julian did a spin. “I went for your birthday once. That is plenty, thank you very much.” Once was more than enough, though Dorian was not unfamiliar with the club scene, especially in his younger years when he could more easily blend in with the crowds while on assignment. He was getting a bit old for undercover nightclub work, thank Merlin.
Leo’s camera was back in action and he had appeared to have gotten a few of Ariel and Julian. “Next time,” Dorian replied with a shrug. Had Ariel asked either of her uncles to wear a fairy dress, Dorian was quite certain they both would have said yes. Dorian himself was getting far too used to donning one of Ariel’s tutus whenever they played dress up.
