Come as you are,as you were Come doused in mud, soaked in bleach,as I want you to be, as a trend,as a friend,as and old Galanis Estate resided just outside of Surrey, England resting on a large swath of private land owned by the Galanis family. The front gates of the house bore the name Galanis on it and led to the mansion that had just been recently renovated after Sybil became Minister. The grounds of the estate filled with several private gardens away from each other including several greenhouses, that held magical plants ranging from dangerous to completely harmless. The backyard of the house was filled with tables and chair among colorful magical plants and flowers planted around them in large garden boxes with a big fountain which statues were enchanted to be a bunny among flowers to represent the Spring decorations of the party. Several colorful enchanted sphere lanterns floated around the backyard proving plenty of light for the guests. The inside down floor of the house led from a grand entrance area, to a dining hall extended by several enchantments. A large glass table decorated with fancy center pieces of flowers of bright colors like yellow, pink, green, and purple. Each placemat was a different color of the spring colors creating a colorful pattern down the table. Floating in the air above each plate was little name cards for a painfully crafted seating plan with everyone next to their plus one and poetionel social conflicts that Sybil or the Minister’s staff were alerted to were seated away from each other.
The doors from the dining hall led into a magnificent ballroom which was accompanied with balloons, a sitting area. The celling enchanted showed offed a starry night sky with a purple moon and the hints of other colors like green, pink and yellow. All the décor had been picked out by Sybil who stood in the middle of the ballroom, in a lace pink floral dress. Her normal black hair had been magically changed back to a blonder with brown highlights. She took in all the decorations before heading out of the opened French doors to the backyard of the house where the guests were being led to as the entrance instead of the front. Looking around the backyard she notices a few of the many Aurors assigned to be the security of the party and to ensure the safety of the Minister in such a brazen open environment. Some might see the Minister’s public party at her own house inviting anyone and everyone almost as a foolish thing to do but this was Sybil proving how accessible she was to the people, the ones she needed to like her, so she could stay in power.
Watching as the gates to the driveway were opened and people started to fill into the backyard she smiled before removing her wand from her the floral bag her aide picked out for her and placed it to her throat whispering ”Sonorus”.
”Good evening everyone and welcome to the first of what I hope to be many Spring Gala’s I will host. Tonight, I welcome you into my house to visit with friends and family and mingle with other community members, and of course be able to ask me questions about anything. I understand we are going through troubling times and with such political upheaval at the Ministry it causes more confusion and uncertainty. Tonight, I want to clear up as much as confusion as possible. I want to find out how I can help you and our community, we all know of the trouble we face but let us not forget about the other issues no matter how big or small, my job is of a public servant to all of you. Most importantly please enjoy tonight feel free to wander the grounds of the estate including the first floor of our house and dinner will be served shortly” spoke Sybil her voice magically amplified as it traveled through her estate. Finishing the welcome speech she grabbed a glass of wine from a waiter and moved down the steps from the house and into the backyard garden to greet the guests that were arriving.

I bet you feel like a real big fish, swimming around in your puddle of piss Seams like you got a death wish, if you’re coming at the King you better not miss TAG:HE'S JUST SAYING HI TO MINISTER, ANYONE ELSE WANTING TO CHAT, TAKE HIM! LOL. HE CAME ALONE LADIESWORDS: 385. NOTES: credit to Meghan Linsey & Aloe Blacc for Lyrics. OUTFIT-SEXY Big social parties were not part of something he did on his time off, he rather be spending time at the bar or at home, anywhere but a gathering of rich people and snobs. However, this one was different, the new Minister Sybil Galanis was throwing a Spring Gala, selling it as a point to celebrate some light during darkness and to know the person they elected as their leader. Alvar had voted for the lady himself last year despite people saying she was inexperienced to lead the resistance against Voldemort. He had scoffed at that thinking seeing the woman as someone who brought experience, a wealth of contacts from around the world, and of course how accessible she was. He had even met her while she was campaigning and how she planned to hire more Aurors and give them pay raises. The hiring of more Aurors came, the extra pay raise hadn’t come at least not yet. He arrived at the front gates of the magnificent estate wearing his light-colored suit, sleeves rolled up and no tie. He could just catch the end of what he could chalk up to Minister Galanis’s speech as he walked through the gates and on the path to the backyard of the estate where people were told to enter from.
He could see a few colleagues who were working and had been assigned to the party to ensure protection of course since the Minister was inviting a good chunk of the community into her home. Alvar wouldn’t be surprised if some death eaters in disguise were walking among them tonight, drinking wine and eating the Minister’s food. He looked around taking in the beauty of the plants that surrounded him, the floating colored lanterns, and just overall how everything came together. She knows how to decorate for a party thought Alvar as he spotted the Minister by herself heading more into the crowd of people. Grabbing his chance, he wanted to say hi to the Minister it didn’t hurt to be on her good side, if anything it would help Alvar. ”Minister, thank you for the invite, Alvar Bellerose. Of course I stand ready to serve if you need anything” said Alvar putting his hand out to shake the hand of the most powerful person in the Ministry.

Spring Gala Evie usually loved a good party, an excuse to schmooze and mingle with the fabulous purebloods of the world, and if it wasn't a pureblood event, a chance to feel like a wonderful person, surrounded by those that thought the sun shone out of her arse. There were drinks, beautiful men, gorgeous dresses, food, fabulous decorations. What was there not to love? Even this spring gala that the Minister was throwing was something she was excited about. She didn't have to work as security, that was all on the Aurors to deal with, and she could just look pretty and have fun for the entire night, whilst managing to appear wonderful, friendly and a complete asset to the Ministry. It really was a win-win situation. Of course there would be more unsavoury types there, those with tainted blood, but she could - and did on a daily basis - overlook that. It didn't matter. She was an incredible actress, and she would enjoy her time at the gala. Nobody was going to drag her down, not even Alvar Bellerose who was currently kissing the Minister's arse. She had been led around the back of the building, a rather unusual way into the place, but whatever floated old Sybil's boat. There were people in droves, all wanting a piece of the new Minister, all dressed to the nines, though none as stunning as Evie herself. She had on a pink two piece ensemble, the skirt of which was embellished with roses. It was full and swishy and just beautiful, and she felt like a spring princess lifting the front of it to navigate stairs in her heels. Her hair was plaited at one side of her neck, neat and beautiful, allowing the weak spring sun to kiss her bare shoulders. Merlin, she was a vision. Much more so than any of the other peasants in the crowd as Minister Galanis made her boring speech. It was a task not to yawn, but Evie managed it, and only glanced at the lovely pink sapphire watch on her wrist once to see how long the woman had been prattling on for. When Galanis finally finished her rambling and made her way down the steps, Evie's dark eyes followed her, and landed on Alvar Bellerose as he approached the woman and tried to talk to her. Bellerose was a traitor. A fine pureblood who would have made an incredible husband to anyone of Evie's standing, but he had turned tail and fell for someone with filth in her veins. There was a price on his head, and rightly so, though Evie would not get involved. She would, however, glare at him as she passed by on her way to find herself a drink. Stupid Bellerose in his stupid hot suit. _______________________ tag: Everyone! notes: <3 outfit: Spring rose! template by izzy[googlefont="Mrs Saint Delafield"]

If I am an angel paint me with black wings
The divorce had been announced a few weeks ago and while the proceedings were far from being over, it should have been of no surprise to anyone that Rodolphus arrived at the gala without his wife. Somewhat more surprising, for those few who knew the real Rodolphus, was the fact that there was no gorgeous woman on his arm at all. Had he wanted a date for the affair, Rodolphus Lestrange would have had no trouble in procuring one. He was handsome, heir to the richest family in all of Britain, and once again single. Rod could have had his choice of any woman this evening, but what sort of image would he be portraying to the public to show up to a public affair with another woman on his arm less than a month after announcing the divorce from his wife? Roddy might have been a womanizing whore of a man behind closed doors, but to the rest of society he knew better than to let his true colors show.
The Minister’s home was quant. The new renovations showed she wasn’t having too difficult a time adjusting to the pay raise that came with leading the country, but it was evident from a nice stroll around the parts of the property that had been opened up to guests of the night’s events that enlargement charms were needed to properly host such a large gathering. It was almost adorable how hard Sybil tried but her money just wasn’t enough to bring her to the same level as the Lestranges. Her political power, however, was something that kept Roddy from making any backhanded compliments about the “coziness” of the Minister’s mansion. Ushers had escorted him to the back gardens where it appeared the guests who had already arrived were gathering, but of course Rodolphus wanted to have a bit of a snoop, snatching a glass of champagne from one of the trays being served and then strolling off to look around. His unescorted tour didn’t take long and before he knew it he was back in the garden, a fresh flute of champagne in his hand. The minister began to speak, and he politely turned to his attention to the older woman.
Her speech left something to be desired but then, Rodolphus supposed it did make her seem “of the people” which appeared to be what she was going for. Roddy didn’t have any interest in being a political figure for that exact reason; he was not “of the people” and he did not have any desire to pretend as such. It was trying enough to curb his naturally crude and cruel nature when in the public eye, but to have to pretend that he also understood the common wizard was simply too much to ask. Business suited him. In the boardroom he commanded attention, as his father had taught him, and he didn’t have to put up with anyone’s shit, yet he was revered if not loved. He would leave schmoozing the public to Sybil and let her deal with the unworthy masses. That was, after all, one of the reasons his family had given so generously to her campaign; she would be the mouthpiece for the movement the Lestranges and families like theirs were hoping for.
The Minister finished her welcoming address and Rodolphus’ attention turned now towards the crowds. His brother, Rabastan, and his fiancée were supposed to attending the event, but Roddy hadn’t seen them yet on his stroll around the property. He rather liked his future sister-in-law and not just because she gave good head. She was a smart match for his baby brother and hopefully their union would be slightly more amicable than Rod’s marriage had been. Arranged marriages were always a bit of a gamble but seeing as how he and Bella had been the best of friends when they were younger, it really was a shock to everyone, Rodolphus included, that the marriage was not salvageable.
No Rabastan as of yet, but Rodolphus did catch sight of any old friend – a term which was applied loosely in this case. Alvar Bellerose had had such promise, once upon a time, but he threw it all away when he marriage a muggleborn. It was of no surprise to Roddy to see Alvar sucking up to the Minister herself. He was always such a pathetic little snot, even when he ran around Hogwarts trying to impress Rodolphus and his gang of older boys. They let him follow along and pretend he was a part of the group but really he was as expendable as the next bloke, if not more. Rodolphus sipped his drink as his eyes traveled over the younger man, who’s nose couldn’t have been any browner if he was fully inside the Minister’s arse, and then Rodolphus spotted a more pleasant sight. She was young and attractive, and of course Rodolphus knew her to be of upstanding character, considering where they had first been introduced. Not to mention she was a pretty decent shag. “Miss Nott, it’s a pleasure to see you here.” Roddy tracked her gaze over to Alvar and then met her eye again. “How has the evening been treating you?”

She was a little bit ruined a beautiful disaster but she was magic
Dora’s birthday had only been a few weeks ago and as a special gift to herself she had nicked her bestie’s credit card and gone on a little shopping spree. She didn’t go wild with Fin’s money, not really. When she was younger and Dora had stolen her father’s cards and gone shopping, there was always a little bit of revenge in her spending sprees. Heath Parkinson had been the only man Dora ever truly loved and all she wanted in return was for her father to show the slightest bit of interest in her. The older she got, the clearer it became to the raven-haired witch that she wasn’t worth of her father’s love. She never stopped trying to earn it though, but still there was a secretive little part of her, way back in her subconscious, that wanted to make her father furious at her because at least it would be something more than ignoring her existence. She would push the envelope, as it were, and buy things she didn’t really need, though she always adored them. To this day, her closet was brimming with dresses and shoes and handbags that she had bought in an attempt to get her father to notice that she had stolen his cards but if he ever did notice, he never mentioned it to his daughter. Stealing Fin’s cards were completely different and totally an act of love, though in which direction this love flowed was still to be determined.
Using Fin’s money and knowing that there was a fancy gala coming up, Dora bought herself a gorgeous ballgown. Gold, glittery, and absolutely stunning. Not to mention that it had pockets! She wouldn’t need to worry about carrying a handbag with her or fumbling around under the layers and layers of fabric to get to her wand which she normally wore in a garter on her thigh. It was the perfect gown for the occasion and as she dressed and admired herself in the mirror she was certain her date, Fin, would agree. “You be a good girl, Mimi, and mummy will bring you back some posh snacks.” Dora patted her pup’s head as she stuck her wand in the deep pocket of her dress and scurried to the door.
Fin was waiting on the street with the carriage and as she stepped out of her apartment building she made sure to give a little twirl so that he could properly admire her. “I know, I know,” she remarked before he could warn her. “No ritzy carriage sex.” She grinned at her best friend and let him help her up into the carriage, then sat and smirked devilishly at him as he climbed in behind her. “Not until I’ve had a few drinks, anyway.” Dora make sexual jokes and flirted casually with Fin throughout the carriage ride, allowing plenty of opportunities for him to shower her with adoration and compliments. She did look absolutely stunning tonight. Fin, as always, looked hot as hell and she told him as much several times.
Their journey didn’t take very long and before she knew it, Dora and Fin were being escorted into the Minister for Magic’s back garden which was done up like something out of a fairytale. There were already so many people in attendance and Dora felt both nervous and excited at the night’s potential. “Oh, there’s Evie,” she whispered excitedly into Fin’s ear, gracefully gesturing to her friend who stood among the crowd further in to the party. “And she’s chatting with your friend, Lestrange. I didn’t know they knew each other.” How close Fin and Rodolphus were was not quite clear to Dora. She knew they hung out from time to time. Dora would catch a glimpse of the older man coming or going when she was living with Fin, and she always gave him a flirty greeting and of course she had mentioned to Fin how cute she thought the older wizard was. When she found out who he was, the wealthiest bloke in Britain, he magically became even hotter. It made sense that Evangeline would know Rodolphus Lestrange, their families, like her own, were often invited to the same functions but she had never considered that they might actually know each other more than just in passing. Maybe they didn’t, maybe they were just being polite. “I heard he’s getting divorced, the poor chap. Think he’s on the rebound yet? Euphadora Lestrange has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?”

Usually a ball sort of thing, or gala whatever, was not Dorcas' scene. Tersha yes, her parents, from time to time, but her? No bloody way. It involved dresses and being fancy and whatever else you had to do to schmooze amongst the sleazy that all harboured their own ulterior motives. These people were not her people, these people were mixed but ultimately there would be an over whelming presence of the elite arseholes that wanted to support Minister Galanis in her career, paying her off and using her like a puppet to formally spew the words they forced into her. Forced was probably too strong of a term, she accepted money for it, most politicians were easily bought, some were a little more difficult and even fewer actually had some kind of integrity. Those politicians were a rare breed and usually total dicks. Some people worked in the Ministry with the intent to raise above the ranks to take the position of Minister, or major Minister suck up. Others did jobs just for money, others did thing because they wanted, because it was always what they'd wanted. Dorcas fell in to the always wanted to group. Or at least since she was twelve. She had no intentions of getting promotions, running the Auror department or ever becoming Minister for Magic, that would be bloody insane and she knew she'd balls the job up right royally, but she was a good Auror and she would stick to that.
Convincing Dorian to take her to this thing was easy, though it really didn't actually require any convincing, just good timing. Waiting around the corner of a hallway in the ministry, Dorcas had waited until Dorian was heading from the opposite end of the hall, on his way in to a meeting he couldn't afford to skip. She'd hurried a little along the hall, slowing down just as he was going in and placed her hand on his upper arm to get his attention, she then told him her mum and dad would have Ariel on the 14th and that he'd be taking her to the Minister's gala to make sure she didn't get too drunk. After that she'd just carried on her way, a little quicker than normal. It was kind of true, she'd probably need someone to make sure she didn't get too drunk but that wouldn't be until after she'd done some snooping on the current Minister for Magic, who was surprisingly opening up her home to the public. A bold and probably stupid move to make considering her position but Dorcas wasn't going to look a gift unicorn in the mouth. She was going to take advantage of the Minister's tactics to gain popularity and snoop around whatever manor she called home.
The event was somewhat of a formal one and so Dorcas had actually put a little effort in to her appearance, buying new shoes, a dress and even getting her hair and make up done, much to Tersha's surprise when Dorcas asked her for her hairdressers name. After Dorian greeted her warmly at his door the two set off and disapparated when they reached outside of the building with little talk. He complimented her or something but she wasn't after that, she knew she looked hot as hell and Dorian was just being polite. If he ever decided to really compliment her, then he could do that by pushing her up against the nearest wall and having his way with her. He was way too much of a prude, he'd never be up for that, but Dorcas didn't care who he'd dated in the past or whose brains he'd screwed out, she'd still pounce him in a heartbeat. He was hot, crazy hot, and she so wanted to see what scars he'd acquired in the line of duty and what kinks he was in to. She was willing to bet he could put that belt of his to some very creative uses and if he couldn't think of anything, she'd certainly have a suggestion or four and given a little extra time she was sure she could come up with another four.
The walk to the minister's home was kind of what Dorcas had expected, and if the minister thought she was opening herself up to the public then she could think again. This was just a chance to show off, she wasn't appealing to anyone in the general public because no one could relate to this, instead it was just painfully obvious just where their tax money was going. This was going to be a disaster and Dorcas hoped she got to witness all of it but not before she found some dirt on the minister herself, and her intentions. She was trying to come off as a minister that cared but Dorcas didn't buy in to it. She was a pain in the arse, always snooping about and Dorcas disliked it and didn't trust the woman, as she'd made painfully clear by telling her to 'bugger off' on more than one occasion. Working in the Magical Law Enforcement department meant she didn't have to answer to the minister on anything, and the woman getting herself involved with cases, wanting to know all the little details or even just the bigger ones, was enough for Dorcas to be suspicious of her motives.
The home itself was nice. It lacked the warmly touches that she liked in a home but she didn’t have to live there so she didn’t give a crap. She grew up in a house cramped and cuddly, with faces beaming at you from every wall. You were never too far from a snuggly blanket, even in summer and there was always the smell of something delicious on the air. Just about the only thing her mum could make successfully every time was brownies, beyond that her mother was rather flat when it came to cooking but her father was some kind of food genius. This place looked like it was purposefully on display and the only aromas came from the flowers on display and probably something a little artificial behind it. Nothing homely in the slightest.
Dorcas had left her cloak and cardigan at the entrance with a lovely woman that looked far too cheery to be working this dumb event and made her way with Dorian to the back garden where she listened to the speech the Minister gave, attempting to seem like one of the people while showing off this mansion of a home. Hardly going to work. Dorcas was just bored shitless listening to some pansy arsed speech but at least the home was open. "Oh for Merlin's sake," She mumbled, rolling her eyes and grabbing a flute of champagne as a server brought a tray around. She turned her body in towards Dorian, "Someone's trying to make up for that leaked memo and doing a piss-poor job at it too." What a shit-filled memo that had been too. Talk about taking drastic measures. The Minister was brutal in her attempts and in the back of Dorcas' mind, she couldn't help but wonder if that memo was leaked on purpose to enforce the idea that the minister was actually attempting to clean up their world, despite the ragingly obvious flaws in her plans. Surely there wouldn't be enough idiots in the Wizengamot to agree to the proposals and actually follow through with any.

Spring Gala Rodolphus Lestrange was a man who could make people scream either through excruciating pain, or sheer ecstasy. Evie had known the latter a couple of times, and she didn't regret her dallies with him one bit, but she was surprised to find him approaching her in the crowd. She snatched a flute of champagne from the server she had been zoning in on, and raised it to her lips, looking the eldest Lestrange over and deciding she still liked what she saw. There were fresh rumours doing the rounds that he was divorcing Bellatrix, which no doubt made far too many pureblooded women happy. In fact, Evie would go so far as to bet that half of the women here had dolled themselves up hoping to catch his eye. One of the richest men around, good looking, powerful and in need of an heir, looking for a new wife? He wouldn't be looking for long. Evie didn't fancy herself as a Lestrange, fortunately. She'd happily screw his brains out in a back room after a few more glasses of champagne, but she had seen him in action as a Death Eater, he was dangerous. She didn't want to get too close to that, she valued her pretty little neck, and wanted it to stay pretty, thank you very much. "Rodolphus," she purred, running a finger over the collar of his suit, sexy eyes meeting his as she smirked playfully. "The most eligible bachelor in town." She enjoyed him for a moment before dropping the act and her hand as she answered his question. "Dull," she said with a pout as her glass rose to her lips once more. "If this party doesn't pick up, I'll be in bed by nine," she complained, glancing at him at the mention of bed. She wasn't inviting him to join her, though she got the feeling he would think the same thing as she had, that she would fare better if she had company. As it was, she didn't want company tonight, not in that way. She was simply here to seem supportive, and show her face amongst her work colleagues so that they'd know she attended and had a good time. Minister Galanis was incapable of throwing a gala to rival the events Evie had been going to since she was young, and all of the fancy decorations in the world couldn't change that. They were more tacky than fancy, though, if you really bothered to take in the details. She was sure most of the flower displays were plastic, and there was no way this house could host so many guests without a few enlargement charms being thrown about. Cheating wasn't classy. _______________________ tag: Rodolphus Adalrich Lestrange and Everyone! notes: <3 outfit: Spring rose! template by izzy[googlefont="Mrs Saint Delafield"]

Spring Gala Fin hadn't actually been too bothered about going to this spring gala that the Minister of Magic was throwing. He didn't work for the Ministry, so he had nobody to suck up to, but his father had talked to him about going. Being a longstanding employee of the most boring building in the world, Aurelius Avery wanted his son to show his face and look respectable for the sake of the Avery family name. Of course Fin had agreed. He hated his father, but he wouldn't do anything to sully the Avery name, and if arse kissing with the Minister of Magic and her pals helped his family to be looked upon in a shinier light, then he would attend. And naturally as soon as he'd mentioned it to Dora she had insisted on being his date. He didn't mind, he was happy to always have a date for things whenever he didn't have a real date, and Dora was stunning, she looked fantastic on his arm at every occasion. Tonight was probably the most dramatic example of that. He had told her he'd pick her up in a carriage, and when she'd exited her tatty little apartment building, Fin's jaw had practically smashed into the floor. She was wearing a ball gown. Was it a ball gown, or had she enlarged one of the Christmas baubles he'd brought around for her in December? Either was possible, but she certainly couldn't be missed in the gold sparkly ensemble. How she had fitted in the carriage was beyond him, and Fin was a smart man, but she'd managed to squeeze herself in, and he'd helped her out without laughing when they'd arrived at the Minister's house. How ridiculous inviting a load of complete strangers into your home at a time when Death Eaters were running amok and people were being killed all over the country. She had to be as thick as pig shit to make such a move, or else she was looking for a way to get to the Dark Lord to make a deal with the devil. Politicians were all corrupt, but opening your doors to murderers was a bold way of trying to get your foot in the gateway of hell. Fin couldn't blame her, the dark side was delightful. He'd recommend it to anyone. Anyone except for Dora. She didn't need to get tangled in that web, she was fragile enough as it was. That was exactly why Fin's eyes went wide, jaw clenched at hearing Dora rambling on about Rodolphus Lestrange being single again, and how she wouldn't mind becoming his new ball and chain. "Oh, no you don't," he told her firmly, steering her away from Roddy and Evie, who looked like they were doing fine all by themselves without any interference from a flirty disco ball. "He's too old for you. You need someone younger and better looking." This was not going in the direction he wanted it to. Either he was going to somehow end up telling her that she needed someone like him, which was wrong because she was Dora and he was Fin. That didn't work. Or, he'd end up encouraging her in the direction of a total stranger, and then feel guilty as though he had palmed her off on someone else for the night instead of spending time with her. He'd dressed up. He looked nice. He should spend time with her. "Look around and pick anyone else. Absolutely anyone." He said, taking hold of her shoulders gently and spinning her slowly on the spot so that she could take in all of the trashy males in the area. "And then forget about them all and dance with me," he said, turning her fully until she was facing him and pulling her into hold for a slow dance to the boring tune that was playing over the gardens. _______________________ tag: Euphadora Rose Parkinson and Everyone! notes: <3 outfit: Mr. Sophisticated. template by izzy [googlefont="Allura"]

If I am an angel paint me with black wings
The young vixen knew what she was doing as her fingers trailed over the collar of Rodolphus’ suit jacket. Her lips curled upward in a sexy little smirk. It was a shame he had to play the part of the noble gentleman for the public, or else he might have made Evangeline a tempting offer that would remove them from the party for at least a short while. As it were, Roddy was well aware of his surroundings and the mask he wore this evening was not one of black and silver meant to strike terror in the hearts and minds of muggle sympathizers across all of Britain, instead it was one of upstanding moral character and utterly refined tastes. He allowed Evie to play her little seductress act for a moment, but when it was dropped for something more natural, Rod didn’t mind.
“Bed by nine does sound inviting,” he retorted casually, leaving out the heavy innuendo in his tone that he would normally have used if they weren’t surrounded by the hordes of people who had come out to gawk at what they thought was a posh mansion and to suck up to a Minister that wouldn’t have paid them any mind unless they had money to fund her campaign. Despite his casual tone, his meaning was clear to anyone who had met the real Rodolphus, as Evie had. He would gladly warm her bed for the evening but there was socializing to be done first, and networking.
Sipping his champagne and letting his eyes travel first over Evangeline’s festive ensemble, her stunning legs on display, then over the sea of nameless faces that surrounded them. “I would have thought there would be more notable wizards in attendance,” he commented rather dismissively. “Not that you ministry folks aren’t notable, but are you really the target audience for this little ‘gala’?” His final word coming out in a lower tone, emphasizing it as if to show his disapproval for such an event. Parties were all well and good, Rodolphus had played host to a number of lavish affairs over the years, and he’d been in attendance at hundreds more, but the sort of party Rod and his kind fancied were a bit more highbrow than this, and exceedingly more restrictive on the guestlist. “Galanis certainly is the ‘Minister of the people’, is she not?” Roddy turned his attention back to the young witch. Who the fuck wanted to be ‘of the people’ when you could simply be better than everyone else?!

I promise to keep you safe always and forever
There had been something strange about Dorcas over the last few weeks, but nothing substantial enough to confront her about it. She carried on with her work and made inappropriate gestures or remarks in Dorian’s presence to get a rise out of him. She was helpful with the baby on Sundays when they had tea at her mum’s house. Dorian couldn’t even state definitively what it was that made him look at her a little longer than he naturally would or offer her a cuppa when the evening hours grew later at the office. There was just something. Perhaps it was that something that caused him to don a nice suit and meet up with Dorcas this evening, or maybe it was the fact that she had flat out told him he was going to do so and then scurried off without giving him the proper chance to work his way out of such an event. Dorian would much rather have been here as one of the working security instead of as a guest, though in honesty he would have rather not come at all, but here he was escorting Dorcas to a gala at Minister Galanis’ home on a nice spring evening. What madness was this?
The Minister’s home was nice, though far too large for Dorian’s tastes. He was growing out of his tiny little flat, now that Ariel lived there as well, but Dorian imagined living in a mansion this size would be much like living in a maze. A maze bought, remodeled, and decorated thanks to the tax payers of the wizarding community. Dorian listened to the Minister’s speech and applauded politely at the summation. Dorcas didn’t seem too thrilled with the woman’s words and truthfully, Dorian couldn’t blame her. The event did appear to be expertly timed with the Daily Prophet’s report about the leaked memo. “That was evident before we arrived,” he retorted. “And yet, here we are, so we might as well make the best of it.” Dorian still had no idea why Dorcas had insisted on him being her date for the evening, beyond trying to aggravate him by making suggestive remarks all evening or hanging on him as if they were dating – neither of which she had done yet tonight but the night was still young and the witch was nothing if not predictable in her attempts to make Dorian uncomfortable.

Spring Gala A spring gala was a fancy kind of event. Jules hadn't done fancy for a long time, not since he'd been a werewolf, at least. He had dressed up occasionally for a wedding or funeral here and there, and he had friends dotted about the country who would have parties that required one to look nice, but nothing quite of this caliber, and nothing that involved rubbing shoulders with the likes of the actual Minister of Magic. Julian wasn't impressed by power or authority figures, in fact he had always had a bit of an issue with them, and found it his duty to go against them in small ways. He was no upstart, he wouldn't land himself in Azkaban, but he certainly would not be shoving his nose up the Minister's backside to win her approval or affections tonight. He couldn't give a toss if she liked him or not, he did give a crap about her views on werewolves, though. He told himself that if he got a moment to approach her in private, he might ask her just what her stance was over his people, and how she intended to treat them during her stint in power. He knew that he was more likely to devote his entire night to the girl who he had asked to be his date for the event. Lunete was a beauty, beautiful in a way he hadn't known for quite some time. She was pure, almost innocent, if you like, with a genuine way about her that made her completely enchanting. She wasn't like the women he screwed and never laid eyes on again, she wasn't even like the ones that came back for seconds and thirds. She deserved better treatment than that, and he hoped by courting her properly, taking her on dates, showing her a fun time, that she would be as enchanted by him as he was by her. Their first date had been a success, even though he'd made an idiot of himself by attempting to fly with her. She'd enjoyed their time together, and he'd even managed to kiss her without getting a slap in the face. It was going well, and tonight was just another step in the right direction. It was also a step in the direction of getting under his brother's skin by flaunting his student under his nose. Dorian was so far oblivious that Jules was dating one of his trainee Aurors, and it would delight Jules to no end to see the look on his face when he spotted the two together at the gala. Tonight would be full of perks, it seemed. His suit fitted like a glove, and he had on sunglasses to try and disguise the shadows under his eyes from the full moon only two nights ago. He was tired, but he'd get through the night, and as soon as the sun set he could remove the glasses so he didn't look like a complete egotistical prat wearing them in the dark. He had picked Lunete up and they had apparated to the Minister's home together. She looked incredible, and it had taken all of his willpower to not stare at her through the entirety of the Minister's speech. He'd only stared at her for most of it. "Did you listen to any of that?" he asked her, leaning his head down so that his lips were nearer her ear, words for her only. "Because I don't remember a word of it. I'm far too distracted." His smile might have been a tiny bit naughty as he stood there in the beautiful gardens of the grand home with the most beautiful girl in the building by his side. He was certainly luckier than his brother, who he had spotted with that tiny little Dorcas whore on his arm. They had to be the most mismatched couple here, unlike Jules and Lunete, who complimented each other perfectly. Then again, Julian would compliment anyone perfectly, he was devilishly handsome and everybody knew it. _______________________ tag: Lunete Penelope Dearborn notes: He's so modest. Come as you are,as you were Come doused in mud, soaked in bleach,as I want you to be, as a trend,as a friend,as and old It didn’t matter if it was months ago, the leaked memo had created such an uproar among the public and the Ministry that it was still fresh in the minds of most people. Some believed the memo would be beginning of the end of Sybil’s beginning tenure following a close election, others wondered who in the Ministry would leak such a memo to damage her. Damage a funny word in this case, because Sybil didn’t see the memo causing any damage as she smiled and nodded while a group of older women spoke peevishly about her wanting to put people in jail without trial. They’d failed to mention she proposed it for known Death Eaters not regular day people. ”I understand completely your point mam but, I strongly believe we should at least have the public debate about this matter. I would argue that criminals, the ones like Death Eaters do not have the same rights we hold, but of course with any such action like this strict oversight and regulation must be adhered too.” spoke Sybil pleasantly and fully engaged with the group of woman. After a few more minutes of further debate and some other questions on the memo they proceeded into the ballroom with at least one of them happy with Sybil’s answers.
Before proceeding any further, she was greeted by a young Auror Alvar Bellerose who was off duty but still made sure to point his readiness to serve. A brown-noser indeed, but he was playing the political game his way and was smart to brown nose up to Sybil. ”Thank you Alvar, and I’m happy you could attend, you know your Uncle Ignace was a good friend of mine he helped me a lot during my time as an Ambassador to the French Ministry” said, Sybil, as she shook the young man’s hand. It was true Ignace Bellerose had been a strong supporter of Sybil and a friend. He helped introduce her to several important contacts in France during her stint as Ambassador, he was a key ally of her until his death. She knew how he died but she also knew better than to involve herself any further with such a murderous and power-hungry family, one that kills each other for a simple title and power over the family. She made small talk for another few minutes, praising him for his work so far and promising to push for the raises that Aurors deserved. They did deserve them as Sybil saw. She parted ways with him telling him to find a cute girl to dance with as she shared a laugh before walking to other guests. Smiling at the arrangement of people who were starting to arrive she found herself once more hounded by a group of people demanding answers to the memo. This time demanding to know how such a document could be leaked, and that shouldn’t the public should be allowed, have a say. ”The Ministry does have those employed who serve to advance their own political agendas and careers including those in the Wizengamont and maybe have leaked the memo for that specific reason. With that in mind plus the enormous amount of public feedback, I’m going to propose that the Wizengamont hold an election over such proposals, so you the people can vote and have your say not a bunch of self-severing politicians. It will be up to the Wizengamont to decide if you should have the final say and I believe you all should” spoke Sybil pleasant but firm tone. The question was planted, the man had been contacted by her staff in advanced to pose the question tonight around a group of people. She wanted to strike a separation between herself and the Wizengamont and was slowly trying to poison the influence they held. All going to plan thought Sybil as she engaged the group in a meaningless talk on economic policy, including regulations on rare magical creatures.
The current environment showed just how skilled of a politician Sybil was and just how unique she was to most. She didn’t shy away from questions, was willing to debate those she disagreed with, and above all remain friendly and personable, despite the oversized fancy mansion. As she greeted people she threw out their names asking how their family was, finding ways to make the conversation personal even bringing up her own grandson and his last year at Hogwarts. ”My own grandson is at Hogwarts so I understand you’re, concern but I have complete trust in Headmaster Dumbledore in keeping the school safe, you’re son is safe mam I assure you. You tell your son he can write me anytime I respond to every letter to me personally” she said empathetically as she held a woman’s hand and gave her a hug when asked about her son being in possible danger at Hogwarts. The last bit was true, any letter written to the Minister’s Galanis received a personal response from Sybil, not a staff member, except for the ones who sent threating letters.
Breaking away from the people she grabbed another flute of champagne, Sybil spotted a few people she could recognize arriving from the Hit Witch Evangeline Nott to the eldest Lestrange brother Rodolphus who were talking together. Nott, Sybil had met at work, since she made it a priority to know those who work in the MLE Department, and Lestrange was known just due to his family name, and that he was rumored to be a new bachelor again, something Sybil found odd. Not to mention the fact that the Lestrange’s had given financial support to Sybil’s campaign. She could spot two Aurors that arrived together Dorcas Meadows and Dorian Humbert, both skilled Aurors with the former finishing her training a year early, and the latter being an Auror over a decade even finishing his entire training in a year alone, an impressive feat. Finley Avery, the son of one her department heads and his date, a Parkinson she believed had just arrived as well. Her eyes traveled along the crowd to see a man she believed to work at Slug and Jiggers a shop she frequented when in Diagon Alley arriving with a date of his own, an Auror trainee Lunete Dearborn.
Unsure of who to approach first she took a few sips from her glass and just watched those arriving some staring in awe of the decorations and other’s barely giving a crap. Despite the fact that Sybil spent hours decorating, and spending hundreds of galleons for real flowers. Couldn’t please everyone but she planned to make this event a success, she had other motivations for this little gala more than the simple public ones she made in her fluffy speech. Deciding who to greet next she made her way to Rodolphus Lestrange and Evangeline Nott, while she didn’t want to interrupt them she knew not greeting and showing respect to a donor’s family would be considered disrespectful something she couldn’t have. The Lestranges need to be her allies, or at least not her political enemies.
”Pardon, my interruption you two I just wanted to say thank you both for coming tonight Mr. Lestrange and Ms. Nott. I hope the evening is treating you both well, please send my respects to your parents Mr. Lestrange” spoke Sybil as she put her hand to forward to shake both of their hands. Sybil made sure to address both by their last name as a sign of respect, something she made a habit of doing unless she felt she could address or greet them by their first name. Dinner would be served shortly as seven o’clock was approaching soon.

The first annual Spring Gala of the new Minister for Magic. So far not so bad, Lilith supposed. Her arm was delicately placed through her fiancé's as they entered the gala, the perfect couple. Beautiful, powerful, and did she mention beautiful? Lilith had to admit she was a little disappointed not to be announced to the room and attention drawn to her dress and hair. She'd spent what felt like an eternity getting ready for this evening and no one was openly staring and admiring her, what in the name of Merlin was wrong with this Minister?! Lilith supposed the place was full of commoners so it wouldn't do well for the minister to highlight more influential persons amongst her crowd of guests this evening. People would come to stare at her beauty in their own time and with her well to do fiancé people should really have been staring at the pair. They were beautiful, rich and the most influential couple there. The Malfoy’s weren’t around and they were holding less and less favour in the wizarding world now that they were unable to conceive. Rodolphus - her former employer and future brother in law - was in the process of a divorce and she expected women to be hanging around, looking out for an in with him. Undoubtedly he was the most eligible bachelor in the wizarding world but honestly, some women had no standards, he wasn’t even divorced yet, give the man some room to breathe. Lilith was more than happy with her own fiancé, she wouldn’t need someone like Rodolphus, someone that was only going to sleep around on you anyway. Her eyes drifted to his direction and she scoffed silently, turning her head forward again, of course the skank sister of her brand new sister in law was practically draping herself all over Rodolphus.
Once the Minister was done talking, Lilith looked about the gardens. They were rather beautiful in a simplistic sort of way. She wondered, briefly, what it was like to be poorer than she, then she remembered she didn’t actually care and instead turned her attention to her fiancé, a man that was ten times the gentleman of anyone else at the gala, including his own brother. Honestly, the man couldn’t even get his wife to give him a son and now they were divorcing? How unheard of. Everyone knew if a woman refused to birth her husband an heir there was only one way she was getting out of that marriage and it was not divorce. Why Rodolphus didn’t just deal with Bellatrix the old fashioned way was beyond Lilith’s levels of comprehension, he was certainly creating himself a reputation of being quite a soft touch by letting a woman walk all over him! The eldest Black sister was by no means the friendly sort, Lilith had made a habit of avoiding her whenever she could, but surely Rodolphus should have been able to handle his own wife! The situation was really rather laughable! Rabastan wouldn’t have to worry about any such shames from her, she would give him as many heirs as he desired and she would be the perfect wife through all scenarios. It was how she was raised - properly. “Such a pleasant evening.” She smiled to Rabastan, “The Minister has clearly attempted her best for the gala.” Lilith was not being kind. Her words may have sounded it, her expression may have been rather friendly and approachable but she was not feeling the Gala at all. It was drab compared to the types of events that her family held and it was all of mixed bloods. Lilith was rather disgusted but it was a political thing, she and Rabastan had to be seen together and supporting this Minister. There seemed to be quite a bit of interest surrounding Galanis from the upper purebloods and while politics was not something Lilith had ever been taught to concern herself with, she knew the merits of mixing with the right people.

Lunete couldn't believe it! A second date! Their first date had been amazing! Well she had thought so. Julian had taken a couple of tumbles, falling from his broom but he managed himself well, he hadn't seemed embarrassed in the slightest, if anything he was more charming and thank Merlin she'd been on a broom for half the date because he made her weak at the knees! She'd never met anyone like Julian before, she didn't usually have crushes on guys she'd never met before and she certainly had never dated one but how bad could Julian be? She'd seen him talking to Agent Humbert at the Ministry and later found out through Julian that the two were brothers. Admittedly that was a bit of a shocker but Julian was so lovely she was most definitely willing and excited to have a date with him and to see if he was as kindly as she'd hoped - and he was! The date had even ended with a sweet kiss, something she'd been hoping for the entire way through but he was such a gentleman and she didn't feel lit was her place to make such a bold move, perhaps he didn't like her the way she liked him. That was always a possibility she supposed because she really quite liked him, she was a little bit of a sucker for the charmers, but he'd kissed her! That had been a very good sign of a great date she thought!
The Minister's home was amazing! Absolutely stunning and lavish. Lunete found it a tad intimidating but she was comforted by Julian's presence next to her. They'd arrived together, talking about this and that. The Minister's little speech was lovely, very welcoming and friendly indeed, something Lunete had expected. It was rather nice of her to open up her home to the public but it did seem perhaps a little bit show-offy, but Lunete appreciated it all the same, and the Minister seemed to have the public's best interest at heart. She really wanted to make the world safer for them and their kind. Lunete giggled a little at Julian's words, blushing just a little and looking to the floor for a moment. He was such a delight! His charm seemed to have no off and she was enjoying every second of it! "I seem to be having trouble recalling her exact words." She said with a small grin, turning her head towards Julian a little, their faces not too far apart. There were several people from the Ministry that she recognised, Aurors on duty going above and beyond their call to ensure the Minister and her guests safety which was just marvellous She hoped, however, that no one she recognised saw her for she'd not told her brothers about Julian and she rather hoped that Agent Humbert wasn't around to see her on a date with his brother, not that she was embarrassed to be seen with Julian, far from it! She was just a little worried that people that knew the both of them might jump to conclusions a little too quickly when all this was, was just a second date. A really fantastic date so far!

It was indeed evident. The Minister was in need of a major clean up of her department if something like that had been leaked. If it was leaked without her knowledge then she seriously needed to weigh up who she could and could not trust and find whoever had leaked the memo. If, as Dorcas had suspected, that the memo was leaked with her permission, or even if she was the one to leak it, then she was in need of a scapegoat. She needed to get on with that before it was too late. Dorcas suspected she was rather calculating so no doubt someone, or a couple of someones, would pay the price, right at a time that suited her best. No doubt she'd survive political scandal after political scandal but her luck would eventually run out, until then Dorcas wanted to know just what she thought she was playing at trying to get herself so involved in the Auror department. The fact she'd demanded Auror's for protection tonight was a bother for Dorcas too, that wasn't the purpose of an Auror, protecting the Minister was not hunting down dark wizards. She had her own personal guard and she had a hit wizards at hand - use those unqualified arses.
"You're far too chipper." She said, rolling her eyes a little. Dorian was crap at bitching. Tersha would be better, or even Geralina, she had a fun and bitchy streak when you got her in the mood but she'd probably be at Hogwarts playing Librarian until it was time to shut up and even after that she wasn't exactly the bold and social type but she had been stepping out more and more often after Paris' death. Dorcas tilted back her champagne flute and choked on the fizzy liquid as the sight of two familiar faces caught her roaming eyes. "What-" She coughed, "Is your brother doing here with little baby intern?" She coughed again, knowing little Dearborn, Tristan's little sister, was in her second year of training but to look at the little baby-face you'd think she should have been in her fourth year of Hogwarts, not off in the big wide world fighting all the bad guys! Dorcas took a sip of champagne to help although it of course did bugger all but she wanted to get drunk tonight. Not too quickly, she had a few other things to be getting on with first.
