Ava wasn't exactly sure what to expect from Cole. They were from different houses but they were the same year. They'd shared multiple lessons over the years but somehow he still seemed to be somewhat of an anomaly. He didn't seem like the type to get close to people, although Ava was sure he had friends, but beyond that she really didn't know much about him. The fact he gave back Mr Snuggles was interesting to her. Half the dickheads in the hall would have lobbed him about, pissing her off until she hexed them in the balls. There was still time to hex Cole in the balls if he pissed her off too much, but she was actually kind of content sitting in silence next to him, nosing in on other people's business, unaware that they were being watched. She stuffed a few chocolates in her mouth, slowly chewing as she concentrated hard, trying to make out the conversation a little out of range. It was no use. They started whispering and Ava just relaxed against the wall as Cole started talking again, "I dunno." She said with a shrug, grabbing a drink, "You're cute and alone, what girl doesn't love a brooding hotty?" She said with a small smirk, just messing with him. She wasn't there because she thought he was hot - although he was - she was just with him because he looked like he could do with the company, even if they didn't talk, and besides, it was a good spot in the hall to see people walking in to the great hall.

Heath chuckled a little as Luce mentioned the chocolate. She shuffled over for him and Heath added his own cushion to her pile. You could never have enough cushions, he'd learnt. Sitting down beside her, Heath offered out the chocolates to her and nodded his head at her book, "What's caught your interest this evening?" He enquired, finding it interesting that she'd brought a book along and was actually reading it. Heath would have brought a book along too if he'd been planning to stay, but he had no desire to stay beyond the twenty minutes he was planning, although he could easily spend that entire time, and then some, having the easiest conversation in the world with Luce. She was such a chill chick that Heath didn't feel as though she sucked his energy from him. She was always a pleasure to hang out with and he was looking forward to hanging out with her after Christmas. A little snooping now and a little book shopping might eventually give Heath an idea of the kind of books Luce was really in to, although he could always take the easier path of just asking.

A sparkle, that was a lovely way of putting it. Hazel smiled. Gus had brought a sparkle to her life too, in the form of little Suzie. Merlin, how she missed her little one. Would it be horrible inappropriate of a chaperone and Head of House to sneak out of the castle during tonight’s event to go check on her little babe? Hazel looked at the time and knew Suzie would be getting ready for bed right about now. She hoped her mum remembered to use the special lavender soap for her bath time, that always helped Suzie sleep better. It had worked wonders with Sophie as well. Her girls were so similar already and it made Hazel beam, but she needed to put her professor hat on tonight. She could wait until morning to check in on Suzie… or maybe at least until Gus arrived. “Oh, brilliant.” Coffee appeared and it was none too soon. Hazel picked up her mug carefully and clinked it against Geralina’s. “To a calm and uneventful evening,” she toasted whimsically.

 Give me love like never before 'cause lately I've been craving more She ran her hand over the front cover of the book when Heath asked about it. "The Secret Garden," she said with a wistful smile. "I found it in a muggle book shop near where I live and thought I'd give it a go. I like the idea of finding hidden places that nobody knows about." And in a place like Hogwarts, that was entirely possible. You never knew what you might stumble upon if you took a wrong turn, or accidentally discovered one of the secret passages. Lucy never had, but she knew they existed. She supposed she'd never gone hunting for one, though if she ever did find one she would be thrilled to follow it and see where it led. She looked up at Heath with curious eyes. "Not your cup of tea, or...?" Reaching into the bowl he had brought over with him, she helped herself to a square of chocolate and popped it in her mouth, realising for the first time that he had actually brought a cushion with him because he must have intended to sit with her. On purpose. Out of all of the people in the hall. Her.  Things were all good yesterday, then the devil took your breath away "Clover!" Soph exclaimed in surprise. She would never pretend to be pregnant just for attention, that was an awful idea and definitely not something Sophie would try. "I am thinking about moving out in July, though. As soon as I graduate. I don't really want to stick around and play happy families." That was how she felt at the moment, though she wasn't fully convinced that she wouldn't change her mind. Living with her grandparents and helping out with Susie also sounded like lovely ideas, but in her current frame of mind she wanted to get as far away from the situation as possible. A little bit of distance might do everyone some good. Even her living at the castle didn't help because her mum and Gus both worked there. She couldn't get away from it no matter where she was. Gus was her bloody Head of House, for Merlin's sake! Her eyes scoured the hall as Love talked, and she saw Eli and Wynnie Toots sitting together. He looked ridiculous. Sophie rolled her eyes. Oh, who was she kidding, she did get a thrill, and she bit her lip to try and hide her smile. "Oh, please, I've seen you in the locker room, it's nothing new." She had indeed caught a peek or two of him after Quidditch matches when they were all getting changed. She preferred post-game Eli, all sweaty and tired, to pre-game Eli, glossy and well, also perfect. The sweat and exhaustion added that darker element that excited her. If only he'd throw her over his broom and give her a good spanking, then he'd really tick all of her boxes. Being cute and alone didn't exactly sound like sexy qualities, they sounded sad and depressing. Plus he wasn't cute, he was hot. And he wasn't alone as in lonely, he was just flying solo. By choice. He had always assumed it was his hair, or his sizzling jawline, or mysterious eyes that made girls want to get in his pants, now he was questioning everything all because Ava Kowalski called him cute. She didn't even mean that he was cute in a good looking way, either. Kowalski would never fancy him and vice versa. Heath, strangely, hadn't read that one. He tilted his head a little, trying to get a peek at the cover. It sounded like a sweet little novel and it didn't look too long at all, certainly something that could be finished in a few hours or so. Heath would have to give it a read if it was something Lucy was interested in. He trusted her judgement and it would be fun to talk about a recently read book together, perhaps a little like an informal book club. "I'll add it to my reading list," He told Lucy as he straightened his head upright. "I'll give just about anything a go." He said, reaching into the bowl of chocolate and pulling out a piece. "Perhaps, after you're done with your copy, I could give it a read?" He asked popping the piece of chocolate into his mouth and chewing. Had the book been a special gift, he probably wouldn't have asked to borrow it sometime, but seeing as it was just a little something she'd picked up recently, he didn't feel at all awkward in asking for a gander.

Love started giggling, laughing at Sophie's reaction. She enjoyed being playful and she nudged into Soph's arm, still giggling just like a school girl. Sophie's idea of moving out was brilliant. Love hopped up on to her knees. "That's brilliant!" She said, sounding excited, "If I wasn't destined to spend another year here I would totally suggest we could be house mates!" She said. "Oh!" She squealed excitedly, thoughts rushing through her mind so fast it was hard to contain her excitement, "Or, if you'd want, we could move in together this summer, then when I'm at Hogwarts just use the room however you'd like!" She suggested. Her daddy had offered to buy her a place of her own once she was graduated, but Love had her parents wrapped around her little fingers and she was certain she could convince her daddy to buy her a place for this summer so that she a Soph could move in together and Soph could have the place all to herself for the school year - except maybe Christmas time. Clover almost snorted at Soph's comment about Phoebe. She wasn't sure that Phoebe's would be that bad, however she almost was!

Ava smirked a little at Cole's admission of always being cute and alone. He was swooned after by a lot of the girls that Ava knew and so she was kind of surprised that he wasn't already being pawed at by desperate cows. Although cows didn't have paws. Bitches? That seemed too harsh, even though she was only thinking to herself and meant a female dog, obviously. Pandas? No, they were way too cute. She was just going to have to settle with bitches, screw feeling mean, it was all in her head anyway. "Ohp!" She said, pursing her lips and preventing a grin, "There you go again, all cute and broody." She said, letting a grin loose, "Keep this up and there'll be rumours about the two of us." She said, nodding her head over to a group of girls that kept looking their way. Ava could practically feel their scowls and she relished in it. "So what was your plan?" She asked, "Sit alone, hope no one would spot you?" She was prying, she was definitely prying, but she didn't mind, he'd laid his hands on her Mr Snuggles without permission and even if he'd not been a twat with Mr Snuggles, he still had to pay in conversation.

She'd seen him in the locker room?! Since when had Wynter Toots turned around and taken a peek of Eli in all his glory? Sure he had a lot to offer, but stealing little glances like that? He was shocked. Shocked! Well, not that shocked. He was pretty damn fit, even some of the guys that claimed to be straight couldn't resist a little peek. "Is that so?" Eli smirked, he was so in if he wanted, "And you'd liked what you'd seen so much, that you just couldn't resist a second glance..." He paused, "Or is it a third glance? A fourth? More?" He quirked his brows up and down a couple of times, "Why Miss Toots," he said, bowing his head, "I'm honoured." He looked back up at her platinum blonde hair, "You cheeky little minx." He winked as he turned back a little bit more, pulling the dressing gown up a little, although not too much to be deemed completely inappropriate, not yet at least.

She couldn't stand seeing books getting damaged like that. It was as though people didn't even care about looking after their property. You wouldn't rub it through a muddy puddle, so why would you bend the pages so they were all gnarly and messed up? It was definitely a pet hate of Lucy's and she really hoped Heath wasn't guilty of doing it. That might just be the thing to put her off him, if there was such a thing. She doubted there was such a thing, to be honest. Nothing against Ava, but he didn't want to be in the rumour mill any more than he already was. If it wasn't gossip about which girls he was supposedly hooking up with, it was stories about him punching purebloods in the face, or nasty rumours about him being a worthless muggle, a worthless Hufflepuff muggle who didn't deserve to be at the castle in the first place. Those particular rumours led him to punching more purebloods in the face, and so the cycle continued. He was in his seventh year, he didn't actually have the energy any more to fight it. People could think what they wanted so long as they didn't say it to his face or cause trouble for him. He'd be out of there in six months anyway. He gave Ava a long hard look as she guessed at his game plan for the night. "Oh Merlin, shut up," she laughed, cringing at herself for her idiotic honesty. She often found herself in situations where she should have kept her trap shut, but she still always spoke her mind and landed herself in it again and again. She peeked out at Eli, who was sliding his sexy Christmas robe up just a touch so that he wasn't completely covered up any more. "Eli! You're terrible." She shook her head at him. "At least wait until we're actually inside the sleeping bag before you do that. Sheesh." The guy's sneaking skills needed a bit of work, but she admired his forwardness.
