Cora wasn't used to people seeing her naked, especially not under these circumstances. She'd never come across another werewolf since she'd been one but she was very much aware they were out there. Some restrained themselves like she had tried to do, while others, like Julian here, seemed to prefer to roam around completely care free. Cora couldn't ever imagine doing that and yet she could remember last night, she could remember the fun she had being free of her cage and exploring the forest. Once she'd come across Julian she'd had even more fun, playing with another werewolf was not something she ever thought she would do, she'd always been so careful but last night something had obviously gone wrong. Cora was kind of glad in a way that she'd come across Julian because who knew how far she might have roamed and if she came to civilisation then what? She could have killed someone, it was there in the wolf's mature, not in hers in the slightest but the wolf ... most definitely. She didn't want to be a murderer, she didn't want to hurt a single soul and so she'd make sure that next month she was locked up a damn sight better than this time and put a few extra safety precautions in to place, not for her, for the people.
One of the topics Cora rather disliked was how long she'd been a werewolf. It made her think back to that night when her life had changed. Julian describing it as a curse was precisely spot on so what exactly made him think she would want to relive that night? Did he enjoy reliving his bite? Probably not, it wasn't a pleasant thing, so she skipped over his attempts at conversation, "Are you going to talk the entire way?" She asked, clearly not in the mood for light chit-chat with a naked former school mate. There had been a time when she'd gotten on rather well with Julian. They'd not been the same house and he was one of those people that jumped around from group to group but he'd been easy going and nice to talk to back in the day, but clearly, much like her, his life had lead him down a darker path and the Julian she'd known during school was quite the charmer and right now, naked in the woods, Cora didn't really feel like chit chat and charm.

Seen it all before Yeah well not hers he hadn't, at least not until right now and he seemed to not really give many cares that she didn't want him looking, though to his credit he did look the other way, focusing, what she recalled were bright blue eyes, elsewhere. It was hard to believe that she was naked, in the woods, with someone she'd known in school, someone she'd considered a friend. This seemed so very random, it was hard to believe that someone from her own year would also be what she was and that they would stumble upon one another in such a way. Knowing Julian made this whole situation so much harder than it needed to be, if this was just some stranger then they could go their seperate ways. Being that it was Julian it was all rather a fast catch up, which made her so uncomfortable given her current clothing state. Julian didn't seem to mind but she certainly did. She didn't want to see him parading herself around and she certainly didn't want him gawking at her naked form. Perhaps she was just a bit of a prude still but it was honestly the most uncomfortable she'd been around someone in quite some time.
Julian nodded his head towards a hill where there were apparently spare clothes waiting. That seemed rather sensible and convenient but she supposed she had no reason not to believe him, still a lot had clearly changed since their school days, she was fairly certain Julian hadn't been a werewolf back then, surely she would have noticed if he'd been missing every full moon, but then it wasn't as if she shared a dorm or even a common room with him so really how would she have possibly known? "If that's true then lead the way, I'll follow on, and make sure you keep your eyes ahead of you." She said, her tone still strong but perhaps a little more on the gentler side than she had been. She wasn't really in the mood to play catch-up right now but if Julian was able to help her out then she could at least be nice, though why did he have enough spare clothes for two? Did he have someone else in the area that he usually ran with? Cora hadn't seen another wolf about last night but if he had a little wolfy girlfriend then Cora wasn't much in the mood for getting her head ripped off by a potentially jealous - and naked - woman.

There was nothing to suggest that Cora had company. She was travelling in to the wind the blew so anything coming from behind had no scent to her. She heard nothing but then she was suffering quite a bit from the headache her recent transformation had caused and she felt as though she'd been out drinking all weekend. Her transformations were still rough and she was at a point where even with the wolfsbane potion, she felt as though it wasn't going to get any better. This was it, this was all it would ever be, but she had to admit that this morning, she didn't feel quite as bad as usual and she wasn't sure why. Her body still ached, she had a small cut across the top of her chest and a few more scrapes than she had entered the night with. She found her right shoulder was aching and that had been where she was throwing herself at her little prison. She'd obviously escaped and it had been worth it for her wolf but if she'd have hurt someone, she would never have forgiven herself, and there was no way the ministry could know she'd gotten out, her transformations were tough enough without the ministry getting itself involved in her business.
A voice spoke out and instinctively Cora's hands moved to cover herself. Her right arm crossed over her chest, pressing her breasts against her forearm for cover while her left hand shot down and cover herself below. There was nothing she could do for her arse right now and there was no point, whoever was behind her was probably copping quite the eyeful but she still turned her body a little, her head jerking around to see who the familiar sounding voice belonged to. Julian. Julian Blackthorne. While he was noticeably naked Cora refused to take liberties and look over his completely bare body. Back in school she'd considered him a friend but he fell in with a rather questionable crowd and now, she supposed, he was a werewolf. And she had his scent all over her body. And she was stood nude in front of him. And he had clearly not been ashamed about looking at her or being looked upon but Cora wouldn't take a peek. She, held her head high and licked her bottom lip. It was dry but so was her mouth. "If you could find the strength to look absolutely anywhere else right now, it would certainly be appreciated." Her words weren't kind, they were an order and right now she needed some clothes before she'd spend forever mortified and unwilling to ever be in Julian's presence again. This was really quite a turn up for the books and as awkward as she felt right now her brain was still trying to absorb the information that Julian was a werewolf.

Percival was quite a serious looking guy to look at. When his face was resting he wasn't the sort of guy you'd willingly approach. He had a dark sort of aura but it didn't matter when you knew him because when you knew him and you saw that smile, he became a totally different person! Resting he looked serious, happy he looked as though he couldn't get enough happy kitten snuggle fluffy rabbit news. He looked like a big softy and he really was one of the sweetest guys that Cora knew. He was a good friend, an absolute gem and one in a million. He didn't look at her any differently once he'd discovered what she was, he didn't treat her any differently after she was bitten and he didn't ask any awkward sort of questions that would leave her feeling uncomfortable or like a second class citizen. She'd lost her position in the ministry because of her affliction. She had to be registered and so many people learnt about her furry little problem. Thankfully having been a bit of a wallflower, even at work, had paid off, and while most people had heard, it wasn't s if she was all that recognisable. Hell even her boss hadn't known properly who she was. Nine times out of ten he called her 'Linda' and Cora never corrected him.
"Ireland?" She asked, quirking a brow, "That'll be fun. What's in Ireland that's so special?" She asked curiously, taking a seat. She honestly hadn't thought that she'd run in to Perce of all people because he was off around the world at every chance he got and she supposed she was very lucky to grab him for a bit of time now because he was off again tomorrow, even if Ireland wasn't all that far from home sweet home. She took a lick of his ice cream, wondering if Perce had official work in Ireland or if it was just something he was doing for himself. It wasn't all that far from home and it wasn't a tropical or hot sort of place so perhaps he was doing it as more of a hobby. Perce was lucky, he was one of the few people in the world that did what they loved for a job. He had his literal and mental scars from his traumas that his work caused him but on the whole it was an adventure. "Same old same old, I don't live the life of the thrilling like some." She chuckled and then took a lick of her ice cream, just a few simple flavours combined.

Curled up under a bush images flashed before Cora’s eyes. Her night had been unusual but she was fairly certain she hadn’t seen anyone else. Not a human at least. Her memories were all there, tucked away and slowly coming to the surface after a night of prowling the forest, running, hunting and even playing. Animals were usually under no threat when she was in her werewolf form unless she was attacked and she was defending herself, that much she knew and she was grateful for when having to suffer through this curse, but humans were different, it was like she wanted to attack them, as though she had to. Last night she’d been locked away in a tunnel that ran underground. It was her safe spot, somewhere she couldn’t escape and hurt humans for in her werewolf state she knew she wanted to seek out other humans and bite them. Change or kill it didn’t matter to the wolf that she harboured, she just had to hurt them in some way and she had no control over it. The wolf did what the wolf wanted. Last night she had not been safe. She’d burst through her cage and roamed the forest she was hidden away in. It was fun, free and thrilling and she’d come across another werewolf. There was another werewolf out there, one that wasn’t locked up. Perhaps he, and it was most certainly a he, had been locked up but had somehow broken through his confines too. There was the chance that maybe he wanted to hurt people, but then why would he be so deep in the forest if that were the case? Cora looked about, easing herself up from the cold dirt floor, completely nude. She was relatively warm still from her transformations but she knew that wouldn’t last long. She looked about, unsure of where she was. She had no clothes, no wand and no clue where she was. This was no an ideal situation and to top it off there was someone else in this forest, someone she recalled playing with because there was no other word for it. Prowling by his side, running and chasing, pouncing and tumbling, biting and nipping. It was all in fun but there was a sense of familiarity that she just couldn’t shake. It was as though she knew that other wolf and she wondered if perhaps that was the one that had bitten her. Could he have been the one to have started all this for her?
Cora got up and brushed herself off. Her head started pounding the second she was up and the daylight made it feel all the more worse. She was tired and exhausted all at once. Her body craved a soft bed and comfortable pillows to sleep on but first she had to find her way to her little hole in the ground and get her clothes and wand, preferably without anyone else spotting her and without getting entirely lost. It was a shit start to the day. It was already shit having spent part of the morning as a werewolf, it was even shittier being lost in the forest. At least she was in a space she’d come to know relatively well, or as well as you could get to know a forest without actually living in it, so once she found something familiar, she hoped she’d be able to make her way back to her little hole, get clothed and get the hell home before finding out if that other werewolf was friend or foe.

Tuesday afternoons were always free for Cora. She worked Wednesdays to Sundays and her weekends were Mondays and Tuesdays. Today wasn't so warm but then again it was Winter. In a month everything would be ever so slightly warmer and a hell of a lot wetter as Spring reared it's stunning little buds. Things would be blooming before they all knew it and then it would be summer. Things would be busy, the sun would occasionally shine down without being locked behind a thick veil of clouds every day and the stars would be visible, shining brightly and fiercely. Everything would be beautiful, although there were always those times of the month that Cora did not look forward to. Every month she wolfed out and it was not for the feint of heart. She'd come to accept her fate in some ways but she still resented it in others. Life shouldn't have been this way for her, or anyone. She'd always wanted a family of her own some day and that wasn't going to happen, not biologically speaking, and what man would want a wife that couldn't bare him children? Hell, what man would want a werewolf for a wife anyway? Cora wanted within her heart of hearts to be loved, to love and to have a family of her own but there was no way that was possible in the way she envisioned it. She'd thought of adoption but she couldn't put a child through that. How would she care for it on the full moons? How would she even explain to a child what she was?
Cora didn't spend much time thinking on her future, nor on her past. She very much believed in living in the present and being present. The past could not be changed and the future was unknown so why dwell on either? Her accident - if it was that - had been a sobering reminder that life was short. She'd been lucky to have had company that night and not just wondered out in to the meadows alone. Had she not had company then who knows what would have happened to her, what she did know was that she could have died and while her fling of the evening had taken any notice of her after that night, she couldn't blame him. She knew the stigmatisms around her kind all too well and she faced it from everyone that knew of her condition, it was why she didn't venture all that often in to the wizarding world, preferring to mix and mingle amongst the muggles.
Today was different. She needed a few supplies and things were just easier bought from Diagon Alley. There was a chance she might be seen by someone she knew but at the same time it was going to be busy so hopefully by the time anyone caught a glimpse of her, she'd be gone from their line of sight. There were of course a few people she didn't mind seeing but they were few and far between, most of them not even in the same country as herself right now anyway, but she kept her head low, walking in to the Ice Cream parlour and ordering herself something to regret later when she was suffering the curse that was brain freeze. Thankfully the full moon had already passed for this month and she was almost back to being an entirely normal human being. She watched as a bowl of something delicious made its way by and noticed it land on the table outside with a very familiar face sat to it. A little smile caught at the corner of Cora's lips. She hadn't expected to have seen Perce. He was always off around the world on one adventure or the next so his presence at the ice cream shop was a brilliant one. Once her cone was ready she took it, heading out of the doors and standing near Perce, clearing her throat, "Mind if I join you?" She asked, smiling widely at one of the few friends that hadn't rejected her the second they'd found out what she'd become. Even her parents had issues with what she'd become but thanks to her sisters, Perce and a few other close friends, she was making her way through life, even if she was a but of a recluse at times.

Julian Astraeus Blackthorne and Cora Calliope VanceOld school friends that haven't seen one another in a fair few years! He's been off with his werewolf lot, she's dropped off in to the muggle world and then one morning after the full moon - BOOM! Nakey wake up times and freak outs x'D she'll feel so happy about having someone that she was friendly with in the past, understanding what she's going through but then she'll feel guilty about being happy about him being a werewolf when she knows the hells of what it's like! Christopher Erebus Devereaux and Cora Calliope VanceYou know you can't say that and then expect me to keep her away, right!?! You're either completely insane, don't know me at all, or you WANT them to meet dundunduuuun!! I'll keep her away for a little bit, but you bet your cutie little booty that he'll be seeing her - soon! Geralina Amara Drake and Cora Calliope VanceWell I'll make it that she works at the same book shop that Emily worked at. Emily gave up work in August so she could help Dorian out with Ariel so Emily would have invited Geralina to the book shop lots for new releases and some old classics, putting aside any first editions for her and she could have met Cora that way! Picking up a book Emily put aside for her and so on! I think they'd get on pretty well! Tristan Jude Dearborn and Cora Calliope VanceI want Cora to gravitate towards the Order! She could be brought in through a combination of Geralina, Emily and her sister Emmeline perhaps, if she's already a part of it. We'll see! In the meantime she can have some kind of run in with a student in Hogsmeade or something and Tristan can come to her rescue, take names, kick arse, all that kind of thing and then when she joins the Order she'll be all 'Hey, Hogsmeade-guy' xD Okay, you got one plot out of me, that's all I can manage xD

@percival and Cora Calliope Vance Close friends! He looked out for her in school and they were the same year and house. He'd know she was a werewolf one way or another. It's not exactly a secret because it happened a little way from a party when she was with a guy. She then got healed and treated at St Mungo's and of course gossip would have spread through the Ministry, especially when she got fired. I imagine he could have heard through a mutual friend that worked at the ministry. She would have appreciated him sticking around after she was bitten and possibly gotten a little closer with him, thinking of him as one of her closet friends.

Cora Calliope Vance and @junebug A little closer to the full moon and these two pass one another by. A glance from both as they recognise the scent of their own. A lingering glance until they’re both forced to face the way they’re travelling, he gets distracted bumping in to someone and apologises. Cora turns off and then watches him for a moment from next to a stall and then she carries on her way, he spots her standing there with a quick glance but once he looks back again she’s gone! So basically they recognise one another as werewolves and they’ve not yet properly met. Cora’s heard of Remus as her younger sister, Emmeline, was in Remus’ year at school and there’s no way she wouldn’t have at least mentioned him. Cora wouldn’t recognise him all grown up, she was much older than him in school, but she thinks he’s a cutie and they should probably meet some day! He can have a werewolfy pal!

1st of February, 1954 - 25 cedar, dragon heartstring, 11 3/4" |
PERSONALITY Boggart: Seeing her younger sisters hurt. The boggart just approaches her as one of her sisters, bent and bleeding, bruised and helpless, begging for help but there's nothing that Cora can do. Mirror of Erised: Settling down with a husband and three kids in tow! Cats, dogs, you name it, the full family life, white picket fence. Everything! Patronus: Lamb once upon a time, now a wolf - Becoming a big sister for the first ever time. Cora cannot produce a patronus.
Once upon a time Cora was a wallflower. She was quiet and easily considered a pushover. She let people treat her just about any way they wanted and she was always just considered so sweet because people couldn't really form much of an accurate opinion about her. She had a few friends in school. She was a good person, could probably still be considered a good person really, but she has changed plenty over the years.
Cora is an extremely protective person. She's aggressive in doing so too. She won't just lay back and be walked over and she won't let any of her loved ones be walked over either. She's fierce and she's angry - a lot. Suppose it kind of comes with being a werewolf, bitten and not born. There's little about Cora's personality these days that resembles what she once was but ever since she was bitten under the light of a full moon and nearly lost her life she's learnt to take on a less passive role in the world, though admittedly her werewolf side is probably also to blame now, especially for anything of an aggressive nature.
Once shy and a bit of a wallflower, Cora now stands out. Not always on purpose but she does tend to draw in stares when she calls someone out on their BS. She's blunt but not always honest. She's deceptive but not always lying. Anyone that knew her from her former years would not recognise the woman she has become. The shy little bookworm is no more. Though she does still love a good book - who doesn't!?
After becoming a werewolf Cora found adjusting to life was hard and that further shaped her personality. She became more resilient of the world around her and more self-sufficient. She had to if she wanted to survive. It took a while but she became accepting of her lot in life and unlike a lot of witches and wizards in her position she did not hate what had happened to her. She hated the person that did it to her - still does to this day - but she deals with things the best way that she can. Life is not easy and life is not kind, a hard lesson to have learnt but one she carries with her everyday. She does not want for her sisters to go through anything like what she's been through and she will fight for them every day that she breathes.
HISTORY Mother: Angelique Farah Vance Father: Henry Fredric Vance Siblings: Emmeline ____ Vance, sister, nineteen, pureblood. ____ ____ Vance, sister, eighteen, pureblood. Partners: None Others: Great-Great-Grandmother Corrina, whom she was named after.
Life was so very simple and basic for Cora growing up. She was the first born child after three years of trying to conceive by Angie and Harry. The dotted on her and loved her with all their hearts. Her mother, a lover of the arts, often referred to her daughter as her muse and aptly so for her middle name was that of the muse Calliope. Her first name came from her father's side of the family from his great-grandmother, Corrina. Her father was not particularly close to his great-grandmother however he and Angie did rather love the name, even if it was simple in meaning.
Life was beautiful and when Cora was six she got a little sister, something she'd always wanted! She spoke to her mother's belly as the little life grew, she sang songs and she loved her sister before she even knew if it was a boy or a girl. She wanted a friend to live with, she wanted someone to be close to. When her little sister was born, Cora was overwhelmed with emotions and the first time she held the beautiful little infant - she cried.
Cora was always protective of her sister, right from the get go. Even during her mother's pregnancy she would remind her to watch out for her belly when she opened doors. She was a caring and compassionate child that just saw the bright and the good in the world. Everything in her life was vibrant.
As if one sister wasn't more than enough Cora was blessed with another little sister. Her mother spent a little longer in hospital this time around but Cora didn't really notice. Her parents never spoke to her about it and she was just so happy and proud to have another little sibling. Another sister!
Unfortunately Cora didn't have very long with her younger sister because when she was three, and Cora 11, Cora was off to Hogwarts. Excited for the journey ahead of her while at the same time missing her family greatly. Her heart ached to be with her sisters again but she promised to send them things from Hogwarts. She had no idea what but she'd find something to send them.
Sorted in to Ravenclaw Cora's life was comfortable and enjoyable. She was alongside some of the brightest minds of her year and even brighter minds of the older students. She was looked out for by students that had a motherly instinct. Plenty of them wanted to coddle her and treat her like a child. She kind of hated it but she never spoke up about it and she found these sorts of friends useful for when she was stuck on homework. They were patronising but they had excellent insight and a far better understanding of the work she needed to do so she put up with them. And perhaps she put up with them because she was too much of a chicken to say anything to them about the way they treated her.
Because of her rather docile nature through school she was an easy target for some. There was one particular bully that seemed to target her repeatedly but Cora just let it go, figuring the sad, pathetic whelp would grow tired. Plenty of other people stood up for her and eventually the bullying stopped. She didn't even really realise but once she did she had no idea why it had stopped and she didn't question it. It wasn't within her nature to question a good thing like that, she didn't want to look for trouble and start everything up again.
Cora did well on her OWLs and NEWTs and went on to a career in the Ministry. young, quiet and unassuming she fit right in because people hardly ever noticed she existed. She ran around after people higher up than herself and did a good job. She got to know more people and came out of her shell a little more but one night things didn't work out as well as she'd have liked.
At a friends fancy dress birthday party on the 20th of September, 1975, aged just twenty years, Cora was bitten. Having been drinking the usually quiet girl from the department that no one could quite remember was having fun. Dressed up as Little Red Riding Hood she was getting herself more attention than she'd ever done before. She was lit up and she was enjoying the drinks, the atmosphere and in particular, one handsome young man's company. Together the two made their way away from the house where the party was being held and traveled through a field, laughing and giggling as they went. Things started to get a little hot and heavy until a rustling caught Cora's attention. She brushed it off as nothing more than the wind but not long after there was another sound. A beast lurched at the pair of them and a searing pain drove through Cora's right thigh in so many places. Her screams tangled with the growls of there beast and the guy she was with blasted the beast but with its teeth still clutching at her thigh when the beast went flying, so did Cora. It let go and the guy from the party scooped her up and disapparated with her in his arms to St. Mungo's where Cora remembered nothing but waking up the following day.
The news she received on the 21st of September, 1975 was crushing. Cora was a werewolf. The guy that had brought her in hadn't stuck around. Her parents were notified but her sisters were both away at Hogwarts. It was hard seeing her parents reactions, they recoiled from her when she went to hug them and the exchanged glances that Cora didn't need to be a legilimens to read. It hurt more than the bite, it hurt more than knowing she was going to be a second class citizen for the rest of her life.
Life became hard. Something that had once been so perfect and then so bland was now terrifying. Cora faced the unknown - alone. Her parents were of no use and the only person that came to talk to her in hospital had been someone from the werewolf registry department. It was crushing, it was damaging and blow after blow followed. When she was released from hospital Cora was told she no longer had a job. She couldn't rely on her parents and her housemates she'd been living with had booted her out, throwing her stuff to the curb in the middle of the night. She had nowhere to comfortable go but her parents paid for her to stay in some cheap, seedy motel.
Cora couldn't find work in the wizarding world no matter how hard she tried. She turned to the muggle world where she found a few little jobs here and there and then settled in a book store. She got an apartment in the muggle town she worked in and mostly kept to herself. Her sisters were stars. Both of them wrote to her and told her of all the things they were researching when it came to werewolves. They made her weep with happiness and sadness but they were her strength in the darkness. After graduating, Cora's middle sister got a flat with her and the two moved to a nicer location. After their youngest sister graduated they moved again so they could all live with one another.
