It was amazing to Cora how many doors Darcy opened for her. She was able to reach out and get Cora into situations that she’d never dream she’d ever feel comfortable in. She was surrounded by people she didn’t know and the moment they were win the barn she heard someone shout ‘wolf man’ loudly. Her head jerked in the direction of the voice where she saw the culprit chatting to a bloke she didn’t recognise but close near by was Julian. Cora’s nerves were even more on edge now she knew that he was here, and that there was possibly another werewolf in the barn, but she looked back to Darcy, smiling as best she could given how uncomfortable she was, “Snacks are a good place to start, maybe he’s got those little sausages on sticks.” She pondered aloud, although really she just wanted to stay away from the bar and whoever ‘wolf man’ was and definitely away from Julian.

She could leave. She could leave. Cora took a deep breath. She could leave if she wanted. It was no big deal. Darcy was there, she was here, she was supportive and Cora wanted to do this for her. They’d been on so many muggle style dates because Cora was practically terrified to step foot into the magical world, and yet Darcy never complained, not once. This was the least she could do for her girlfriend. Cora squeezed Darcy’s hand back, looking at the people all around, waiting to head into this thing. “Yeah, I know.” She said, smiling at Darcy, knowing that no matter where she went with Darcy, she could have fun, not realising the challenges she’d have to face once she was inside the barn.

Cora was bashfully pleased with her strike, although not for long. Darcy had a way of lifting her spirits and confidence in herself and it was good to feel relaxed around another person, especially such an attractive one that had already seen her break some laws, so what did she have to lose, really!? "I'm sure it's just all that luck you gave me," She chuckled, knowing full well it was not, "You're up." She said, wanting to move on but keeping her positive, up beat attitude. She'd have to ease back a little, maybe go for a couple of spares, try for three or four pins rather than the lot.

Cora watched with a big ol' silly grin on her face as Darcy stepped up to the line. Cora was excited to see what Darcy might do but at the same time she was definitely looking out for any rogue bowling balls flying in her direction. Cora was certainly pleased to see that the bowling ball was heading down the alley towards the pins and she was even more pleased to see that Darcy managed to hit something. No gutter ball. Darcy was better than Cora was prepared for. "Woo!" Cora cheered, clapping her hands and raising them above her head enthusiastically. "I'm counting on it!" She grinned, lowering her hands to her lap, watching Darcy score a grand total of 4 pins. "Yeah!" Cora cheered, clapping her hands once more and standing up. She made her way to lane where she stood where Darcy had been stood, "Wish me luck." She smiled before looking down the lane, pulling her arm back while taking a couple of steps forward and throwing rolling the ball. The ball started to curve, looking as though it was headed for the gutter, but at three quarters of the way down it changed direction and curved back, barrelling into the pins and knocking every single one down in a strike.

Cora did up her shoes and followed Darcy to the bowling balls that were all lined up on the racks. She looked them all over, not minding a heavier ball, but it was hard to find a heavy ball with narrow finger holes. She spotted a green one but her attention was captured by Darcy holding up a hot pink ball that was covered in glitter. Cora grinned and chuckled, "You're on to something with that combination." She told Darcy. Though Darcy would look good in anything with anything.
Walking to the bowling balls, Cora noticed that the one she'd been after had been picked up by someone else while she'd been gazing at Darcy, so she just grabbed a random ball from the lighter section. She made sure her fingers could fit in the holes before she carried the plain navy blue ball off to their lane. She sat at the table and put in Darcy's name followed by her own. They'd have a couple of games, maybe, and hopefully Cora would come out of this on one piece. She'd certainly be keeping Darcy's advice in mind and not stay too close behind her while she bowled, although she'd definitely be checking out her arse while Darcy bowled. "You're up first, just so I can get a few pointers." She said with a playful smirk.

Bowling was something Cora loved to do but it felt like aeons since she'd been. To share something she enjoyed with Darcy was a part of dating that Cora missed. It felt as though it had been forever since she'd been on a date. There weren't many people that she'd been interested in dating after she'd been bitten. No one really knew of her condition, her family were the only ones she'd told. The people she used to work with had figured it all out from rumours around the time she'd been bitten, and Julian had wound up naked with her in a forest after a full moon. Beyond that no one, as far as Cora was aware, knew of her condition. "So prepared. You can give me some tips." She smiled. Once upon a time a smile from Cora had been difficult to extract from the brunette, but with Darcy it was always just lurking beneath the surface.
Walking in to the bowling alley Cora was looking forward to striking a few pins. She may have feigned needing tips from Darcy but the truth was Cora was actually pretty good at bowling with her wolfy abilities. She'd have been better closer to the full moon but she wasn't going to be half bad right now. She took Darcy up to the desk and paid for their lanes and hire shoes. Even through the dousing of sterilising spray could be smelt on the shoes, Cora was getting a whiff of the feet that had previously been in her pair, but she said nothing, taking off her own shoes and leaving them at the counter while she slipped in to the bowling pair. "Promise you'll go easy on me." She chuckled to Darcy, looking to the empty lane 6 they'd been directed towards.

This was the only adult sort of relationship that Cora had ever had. She’d had partners before but it was never really anything special. It was always just going on dates and hooking up. Cora wasn’t the type to just drop her knickers for the first guy to come along or anything, but she wasn’t a total prude either. She’d had a little fun, although she’d spent most of her time as a wallflower, but around Darcy she was seen and she liked to be involved in what was going on. Darcy brought out the very best in Cora. Best of all, Darcy didn’t judge. Cora had never expected in her life to come across someone as kind, strong and understanding as Darcy. She took the news of Cora being a werewolf and barely seemed to bat an eye. Cora had practically been rejected by her own family, but Cora couldn’t ever see Darcy seeing her werewolf problem as anything other than a part of who she was. Hell, she even fought for werewolf rights!
It was over a year since Cora had first seen Darcy asking for signatures at the ministry, only back then Cora had had no idea what an impact Darcy would have on her life. Ten months ago they’d liberated some magical creatures and it had been the start of something Cora believed to be special. A year ago Cora would only have ventured into the magical world when absolutely necessary. Now she went at least once a week, with or without Darcy. In that year she’d had some incredible personal growth and she’d found out about the existence of the Order of the Phoenix. Naturally she had joined in its fight of the Order and was surprised that her younger sister Emmeline was a part of the resistance and had never breathed a word to Cora about it at all.
After apparating them both, Cora straightened out her skirt with one hand for a second, her other still holding Darcy's from their side along apparation, “Ta da!” She said, raising her hand from her skirt straightening and opening it up towards the building that stood in front of them and more specifically to the bowling alley end of the building, “I figured we could do a little bowling!” She grinned, figuring this would be a fun date for the pair of them. It was in the muggle world, but it wasn’t far from a few magical spots, so maybe after some bowling and some Alley food, they could head towards The Leaky Cauldron and have a few drinks before heading either back to hers or back to Darcy’s.

Everything seemed to be happening impossibly fast. Cora was being pulled by the witch and she went willingly, although she did take just a second to look for her sisters. As she ran she couldn't believe what she'd done. She recognised that something inside of her had just snapped, however there had been no predicting that this would have set her off, nor that she would have gone to quite such extremes. As they came to a stop, after darting through the crowds and the witch leading Cora to what she could only presume was a safe enough spot, Cora took a moment to really think about what she'd done. Unlike the witch before her, Cora was not out of breath, she could have carried on running for a bit before she'd have begun getting breathless but she couldn't really take credit for that, it was the wolf inside that kept her fit and healthy. If she ignored it when she could feel it stirring beneath her, then she would have gone mad a long time ago, thankfully she was able to keep her mind clear with a hell of a lot of walking and running.
"Never," She said looking to the witch and then down at the ground, realisation sinking in more and more as she let herself think about what it was that she had done, "I can't believe I just did that." she said, raising her eye level to look at the witch, "I've never done anything like that before. I just saw those cages and ... and I hated them." She said, as though that were some kind of an explanation although it felt like a crappy one. She was curious as to what the other witch had gotten up to in the past. This was her own first act of rebellion but the other witch certainly seemed comfortable with making a scene and just as good at making a quick get away, too. "Do you do this kind of thing often?" She asked not at all sure why she was delving into this now. Something had struck her tonight, something had stirred her into acting out a little and while it was completely unlike her usually, she was kind of glad she'd done it.

Cora felt nervous about such a crowd gathering around but her rage was enough that it took over her mind and body, allowing her to run on a small surge of adrenaline. Cora had her wand still out and pointing towards the man in the cage that seemed absolutely furious. The woman that had started all this was freeing the diricrawl. It escaped and then the witch was asking for help. Cora froze for a moment, looking at the cages and the creatures inside, trying to figure out if they were safe or not. The activist made mention of the purple toad and so Cora hoped there was nothing else that was dangerous as she set to work, opening the cages as fast as she could, trying to coax some animals out while others leapt as though their lives depended on it. Doubt started creeping in to Cora's mind but she knew she'd started something she couldn't back down from right now, especially considering she had a small nest of bowtruckles buried into her arm, all squirming around trying to get away, and quite possibly the laziest animal she'd ever met, a moke that quite contently allowed her to place it on her shoulder while she tried to open another cage.

Cora didn't mind the occasional night out. They were very rare but sometimes she needed a bit of fun dancing and what not to let off a little human steam. Her wolf form felt a little cagey too, ever since she'd started with the Wolfsbane potion her inner wolf had been denied freedom. Leading up to the full moon that meant she was more on edge than usual. Her little wolfy ticks were more noticeable but only if you knew her. Cora's sisters wanted her to have a little fun tonight so they were going to grab a few drinks go dancing, get some crappy take out on the way home and call it a successful night. The only part of the plan Cora disliked was that it was taking part in the magical world, a place she usually tried to avoid, but for her sisters she was willing to venture once more into the magical world and she just prayed she wouldn't be recognised by someone she used to work with.
When you were talking about a night out in the wizarding world, there was no place better than Whimsic Alley. Cora had let her sisters dress her up for the night, giving her tips on flirting and dancing, despite Cora pointing out that she was a werewolf and not a nun, she could still recall how to flirt with people she found attractive, though she was left thinking about the last time she flirted with someone and it had been quite a while. Years in fact, so perhaps she should have paid attention to her sisters, but she wasn't going to ask for those tips again, she could figure it out.
Whimsic Alley was crawling with all sorts. Cora had her arm linked with her sisters, one on either side of her, as they walked down the Alley. Emme pulled them over to a shop window to look at a cute pair of shoes but Cora's hearing picked up on a voice that sounded completely outraged. Cora was always on edge around voices that sounded disgusted because she assumed it would be directed at her. Her head whipped around, her hair flying over her shoulder. Cora's eyes came to land on a familiar looking woman. Cora didn't have many interactions with people so it was easy to recall where she knew people from. This woman was from the Ministry. She'd been protesting in Support of Werewolves rights and Cora's heart skipped a beat. It was strange that she would see that particular woman on a night out. Cora felt a lump in her throat as she told her sisters she'd be back in a minute, and made her way over to the scene the Werewolf Rights Activist was making. "How would you like to be tormented in a cage?" She asked rhetorically, pulling out her wand, giving it a wave over the man, forming a cage similar to the one he had the diricawl in, all around him. "Dance, monkey, dance." She said, waving her wand, causing the cage to shake. Perhaps she had gone a step too far but this was all hitting far too close to home. There was a strong possibility, with the way that things were going, that she could one day be kept in a cage, if not outright killed for what she was, and the idea of this man caging people like her for entertainment pissed her off beyond belief. Sure he had animals cage right now, but how long would it be before he'd try and cage people too? How long before the ministry would let him?

Cora wasn't exactly greeted by the shop owner but she was acknowledged by him. She supposed that was just what life was like for her when people knew of your condition. Paying customer or not, it didn't matter, she wasn't a human to these people, she wasn't worthy of respect or even basic decency. She knew that was what it was like in the magical world and it solidified why she stayed away from the magical community. Had this never happened to her then she'd have carried on with her life, working at the ministry in a nine to five job, Monday to Friday. She'd go to the pub on Tuesday nights with her colleagues, she'd go to the pub with her sisters on Thursdays, she'd go out on Fridays, spend time with her parents on Saturday, go out again Saturday night and then spend Sunday recovering. Simple, repetitive, easy. There was no need for life to be more complicated. She hated that her life had been turned upside down but she had to cope the best way that she could, the safest way, and if that meant needing this potion then she'd take it for as long as her parents were willing to pay for it. No doubt they had weighed up their answer carefully when she'd asked for the funds to purchase the potion. On the one hand they didn't want anything to do with Cora and her lifestyle, on the other if it was found out that Cora had done something unforgivable, then that would absolutely tarnish their reputations, something that could not happen.
Cora stood before Lucian, pleased that he at least didn't recognise her from school, had he realised who she was then she very much doubted it would have made a difference in their dealings, however he'd have her real name, something she could have given him before but she couldn't risk being found out by anyone else. What if there was some kind of paper trail that lead right back to her and some sick individual, that thought they were doing the right thing, tried hunting her down? Today was an exceptionally stressful day and the full moon wasn't too far off, making her a little more on edge than usual, still she managed to listen and follow Lucian's instructions and nodded her head silently. Once the potion was in the bag Cora took the bag, "Thank you." She managed, thinking it would be very rude of her not to offer some kind of thanks, even though he was being paid and he'd charged an extra fee and she'd paid three months in advance and her imagination was running wild with the idea that something might happen to her! Still she got through the two very simple words before turning and leaving the establishment. As she walked down the street it took everything she had to keep her chin up, to focus on not looking down at the ground. The more she shied away, the more noticeable shed be. She was blessed with dull brown hair and an average sort of frame, she got through the alley unnoticed, blending in with the crowd before she disapparated home, ready to unwind and not return to the wizarding world for quite some time.

Cora was keen to get this over and done with, she wanted to be gone and for no one to be any the wiser of her presence her or what she was asking for. This whole experience was going to have her hidden away for the next couple of months, just sticking to the muggle world because in her mind, everyone would be talking about what she was doing there, judging her. It was ridiculous but she felt as though everyone would know her shame, they would judge her and they would make life hell for her. It was far from easy living with her anxiety and while she knew it was ridiculous, it did nothing to lessen the fear she felt, for it was indeed fear that her anxiety generated.
Taking the slip of paper Cora was too frightened to look at it. She was worried it would have something horrifying on it, 'For the werewolf' or 'Wolfsbane Potion for the little bitch' could quite easily be scrawled cross the paper but she was too scared to look. She just took the paper to the front, made an exchange of cash for a receipt and she was done. All she had to do was come back and pick it up and she'd be able to control herself on the full moon, even through the agony of the transformations, but she wouldn't risk getting out of her cage again, she wouldn't risk harming anyone and facing a death sentence over an accident.
Silently making her way out of the shop Cora knew she had a few hours to kill but she couldn't think too straight. She left the wizarding world the old fashioned way - walking. She wandered the streets of muggle London for quite some time. She grew hungry and even more anxious, thinking that she'd be welcomed back at Elixirium by a mob ready to lynch her and tear her limb from limb. She was too worried to head home, she couldn't apparate while so preoccupied by her strange theories and besides, if she headed home and her sisters saw her then they'd know there was something the matter and they'd insist on going with her. Cora didn't want that. She didn't want her sisters anywhere near the beastly side of her life so she stopped at a cafe for coffee and dinner, she made her way through the back alleys, all the way back to the magical world where she was relieved not to be jumped on by an angry mob. She even managed to make her way all the way to Elixirium before her worries almost got the better of her. It took her a moment of hovering at the handle before she let herself back into the now empty shop.

This was terribly awkward. Cora didn't have the nerves to just walk away but she couldn't sign that petition. There was probably something that prevented you from signing with a fake name and so she was at a loss of what to do. The woman that had stopped her went off talking about things Cora was already well aware of. To her it was all old news but it was refreshing to hear it being spoken of out loud and not in hushed whispers or inside the safety of a closed room. This was the Ministry of Magic, a very public forum and here these people were, talking about a subject that greatly affected Cora and yet one she had a fear of speaking about. Something she hid as far down as was possible to the point that what? It was preventing her from signing some petition that would give her more equal rights? A petition that would probably just be dismissed and ignored? Cora was well aware that she was what one might call a coward but this life imposed on her wasn't an easy one and as much as she truly wished she could sign, she wasn't wanting to make her life more complicated.
"I've never met someone so passionate about werewolf rights," She said as she looked over the form, a small hint of a smile on the corner of her lips. There weren't many signatures but Cora appreciated each and every one that was there. "But I don't think I can sign, not today." She told the enthusiastic witch, "I'm sorry." She stepped to the side, knowing deep down it felt wrong to walk away but it was the safest option to keep her life as fuss-free as possible. The was no doubt in Cora's mind that her sisters would sign the form without hesitation, but for a werewolf to actually sign it could mean so much trouble and Cora didn't want to bring that down upon herself or her sisters. They lived with her, they helped her out in so many ways that she couldn't bring that kind of trouble to their door. "Have a good day." She said, sounding apologetic, "I hope you get more signatures." And off she went, walking towards the lifts, hoping to get a good spot to sit and read while she waited for her appointment time to creep closer and closer.
