“Upstairs?” Jasper chuckled, “I suppose that maybe it might be more economical spatially speaking, for the likes of townhouses and such.” He pondered aloud. His own kitchen was on the ground floor, near the dining room, like in a normal house hold, although his home was rather large, also, so perhaps it wasn’t as close as he thought, perhaps it just seemed close because he was just so used to it. Jasper decided he was thinking far too much about floorpans and cut himself off by looking at Geralina’s back as she lead the way. Was it strange to be attracted to someone’s back? It wasn’t as if it was some kind of fetish or anything, but Jasper thought Geralina’s back had a nice curve to it. What in the name of Merlin was he doing?

Jasper turned and noticed Leo headed their way. He smiled to his friend before rolling his eyes at Leo’s comment. There was no way in hell he was taking Geralina upstairs, that was ridiculous! Jasper turned back to Geralina and shrugged his shoulders, “On to the next room, I suppose.” And that was most certainly not upstairs!.

Last minute? How did she look a million galleons for just a last minute outfit? Geralina was just incredible. As she pointed out that they were matching, Jasper looked down at his own shirt, like some kind of moron that couldn’t remember what he’d put on. He chuckled and looked to Geralina’s dress that really flattered her figure. “So we do.” He chuckled, just glad there were no naked Santa’s involved this time, Jasper was already in a huff with Leo, he didn’t want to give the guy more fuel for the fire.

Geralina wanted to know if Leo had soft drinks and Jasper nodded his head, “You’ll be fine, I’m sure there’s a few non-alcoholic options. If not then I’m sure Tersha will be grinning from ear to ear at all the business the Knight Bus will be getting after this afternoon.” The Knight Bus was a genius business, really. There were plenty of witches and wizards that liked a good drink, but once you were drunk you couldn’t apparat and navigating the floo network exits could be tricky, as well as all that soot involved, so the Knight Bus was a good option for getting home, provided you were on the mainland, of course, there was no travelling over water, although when you were drunk, the zipping and sliding of the Knight Bus wasn’t exactly the best for your stomach or your head. “We’ll head out back and I’ll check with Leo about the soft drinks.” He said, leading the way through Leo’s impressive home.

The kids near him all seemed to have arrived, Jasper deduced as they started their way towards Leo’s front door. He wasn’t used to Geralina being late, she was usually so punctual and for a moment he wondered if he was supposed to have met her at her home or perhaps she had stood him up, not that it was a date or anything, but it was possible, he supposed. The familiar cracking sound of someone apparating caught his attention. He turned to see Geralina and he was relieved that she had decided to come, although his mouth suddenly felt extremely dry as he looked at her. That was an incredible amount of leg she was showing but Jasper was confident enough he could hold himself together and not turn into a blob. “Nah, you’re fine,” He said, hoping to reassure her as they walked to the front door of Leo’s home. “I only got here a couple of minutes ago.” He had been there a little longer than that, but it was okay, people were still arriving and would continue to do so for a while, he expected. “Your dress looks good.” He complimented as he got to the door. He wasn’t quite sure what compliments would be appropriate, but ‘good’ seemed like a pretty neutral, positive term that didn’t scream ‘I love you and want to sweep you off your feet’, so that was … good.

The front door swung open and Jasper let Geralina step in first then followed. Once they were both in the door shut behind him and he took the lead, heading through to the back where a whole group of people seemed to have gathered. It seemed bigger than last year, but then Jasper had been out of commission pretty early on last year. “Can I get you a drink or something to eat?” He asked Geralina, hoping she’d be okay with all these unfamiliar faces around.

It was hard looking casual. Trying to look casual and as though he'd just thrown on a tee shirt was incredibly difficult. Every time he changed his shirt, Jasper just knew he had probably swapped his outfit more than any woman in the entirety of existence. Was this what it was like a being a woman? Usually Jasper was happy to throw on a nice suit, or just a casual button up shirt, but for some ridiculous, insane reason, he had kept out of his comfort zone and had asked Geralina if she'd go to Leo's barbecue with him. It wasn't like this was a date, or anything, they were just friends and he was more than certain that Geralina saw it that way too, but having the hugest crush on one of his closest friends was an incredibly difficult line to walk, and to add to it all, he was now unsure of what in the hell to wear. Why did this have to be so difficult? It didn't matter, a quick look at his watch told him that he was going to be running late if he didn't get his arse into gear, so he left as quickly as possible, without breaking into a run, and disapparated to Leo's. He saw little huddle of girls and noticed Lola in the middle. He smiled and shoved his hands into his pockets, waiting for Geralina, wishing that he'd brought Dorcas, at least then he wouldn't be so nervous.

This was beyond embarrassing. Jasper was never going to live this down, and what was more, Neve's attempt to pump him up, or whatever that comment was supposed to do, didn't work at all, he was far to embarrassed and nothing was going to happen between himself and Neve. There could possibly be some action between himself and Leo, for example a dumping of glitter onto his former friend's head, but that would be all. Jasper just introduced himself to the kids, his voice holding steady as he showed them all the crafting table had to offer, that was, right up until Leo came over and asked how the date was going. If looks could kill then Jasper was sure Leo would be a smouldering heap of ash because he was certain he'd never stared at someone so intently in all of his life, but the worst part was that he couldn't even say anything! "Fairy Princess." He said, not entirely flatly, but damn well near it. He still wanted this to be a great time for the kids, he couldn't go ruining their day, so he was just going to have to play along and then kill Leo later.

They all shouted 'Surprise' and Dorian was clearly surprised. That was the aim, right? He didn't seem like the sort that would like this sort of thing, but Jasper supposed Dorian had a lot of friends and family now that wanted to spend time with him and let him know that he was loved. Jasper hadn't known him for long and he didn't know him as well as some of the others that were there tonight, but he certainly felt as though he could call Dorian a friend, he was a decent chap to get along with.

After the initial surprise, Jasper made his way quickly to Geralina. He recognised a lot of faces there but he was most comfortable with Geralina, not just because she was the most beautiful woman in the room but because they'd been friends for what felt like forever and it was just easy. He chatted with her a while until Dorian came back and Moody mentioned something about gifts. Jasper peered curiously, watching to see what it was that Dorian had been given by Julian. Jasper wasn't fully aware of everything that went on between the two but he had the general gist of it; half-brothers that had found one another after never knowing each other. Pretty simple.

Dorian seemed to look over his gift and then leave to take a moment for himself. Jasper grimaced a little and looked to Geralina, "Maybe he just needs a-" He was cut short by the man of the house loudly announcing his need for his wife. Jasper visibly cringed and then Rabastan popped his head around the corner. "If only I had someone to romance like that." He sighed wistfully, clearly sarcasm because honestly, who would ever want that? Jasper had known Dorcas for quite some time, and while he wasn't as close with her as he was with Geralina and Paris, he was certain that even Dorcas wasn't impressed with that kind of thing. Then again, she was a bit nuts and unpredictable at times, so who even knew!

Jasper scotched over to let Neve in. She seemed just as surprised as him that there was a dress involved but she insisted that they just had to get on with it. Actually no, no he didn’t, as lovely as Neve seemed, this was not for him, this was not the kind of date he wanted and he wouldn’t go along with it any farther. He was a grown man, appreciative to Leo that he had set this up for him but this was too much. Yeah, as if Jasper was going to see anything. He was already in the dress and taking a deep breath in, completely unsure of what the hell he was going to do manning an arts and crafts station. He didn’t know how to do arts and crafts! He didn’t have children! Still, there was no way he was going to refuse. He’d just get through today, murder Leo tomorrow and pretend as though this hadn’t happened, naturally he would have to hide for the next ten years or so, but the humility would die down eventually, right? “Let’s do this.” He said with a nod, pumping himself up to step foot into a crowded bookstore, dressed as a fairy, with a baggy front due to not having any boobs to fill the front of the dress out.
