And now she was picturing that, too, and bloody Merlin, she wasn't sure she should press the issue because that would just be embarrassing for both of them if her blushing was anything to go by. "Okay." Geralina hovered by the back wall of the house, out of the way so that people could pass. Jasper was testing the punch, which was probably spiked, she didn't expect it not to be at a party full of adults. It wasn't a school dance. Hell, even the school dance punch was usually spiked. So, the wallflower did what she did best. Or not gone into it. It wasn't fancy at all, and that was very Dorian. Simple and stylish. "If it were up to me I'd have got him a book cake. Like a stack of books. Chocolate books." Really, that was Geralina's dream cake, but she thought Dorian might have liked it, too. Maybe she'd drop hints for her next birthday. She kept her voice low, just loud enough for Jas to hear, her eyebrows quirked in disbelief. "You skinny dip?" she asked. That was something she could imagine Tristan would have done, and he had been Jasper's best friend so it wasn't too much of a stretch to believe Jas had done similar adventurous things. She just had a hard time picturing it. And now she was picturing it, and honestly, it wasn't a bad picture. It was quite nice, in fact. A little fall of rain can hardly hurt me now Geralina shook her head with a laugh. "Nah, she'll never go soft," she said, thinking of Dorcas turning mushy on them. Dorcas was one of the strongest women in the world, physically, emotionally and in whatever other way. She was sometimes too tough for Geralina, but it was useful and often balanced the librarian out in sentimental moments. Geralina couldn't imagine Dorcas ever being any other way, even as a mother. Her gaze fell on the counter on the other side of the huge kitchen and Geralina let out a gasp. "Oooh, is this Dorian's cake?" she asked, running over to have a look. It was three tiers, decorated like a dark blue suit with shirt and pale blue tie dripping down the side of the tiers. She felt much more comfortable knowing that this man was friendly and warm, and she squeezed him back, glancing questioningly at Jasper and wondering just what he'd told Leo about her in private. Did he really talk about her? Leo hugged Jasper next and whatever he had said caused Jas to shout embarrassingly loud. People were looking, and Geralina chewed on her lip. What the hell was going on? Jas seemed to be lost for words and eventually revealed that Leo had asked him to skinny dip or something. Skinny dipping with so many people around? Was Leo an exhibitionist? Had Jasper really done that in the past? It took her a minute to realise that she hadn't said anything at all for a long while. She really didn't know what to say, but Jasper looked like he wanted the ground to open up and swallow him so she had to say something. "I think I've learned more about you in the past two minutes than I have in the past fifteen years." She gave him a curious smile. A little fall of rain can hardly hurt me now A kitchen at last! Huzzah! It wasn't that much of a celebration, but Geralina was glad to see a tap with water, if nothing else. She headed in ahead of Jasper and began rummaging through the fridge and cupboards, looking for anything to drink. She eventually came across a bottle that made her face light up. "Vimto!" she said, holding the bottle up like it was a gleaming trophy. "Mission complete," she grinned at Jas, now trying to find a glass to put said Vimto in. Jasper flagged him down immediately and introduced them very politely, which made Geralina feel kind of uncomfortable. Having her full name and job title given made her feel like she was meeting someone official, not just her friends best mate from work. She gave Leo a warm smile and an awkward wave. "Hey, it's nice to finally meet you," she said. Jas had talked about Leo before but she'd never actually had opportunity or reason to meet the guy until now. "You wanna try?" she asked Jasper, thinking it probably would have been easier for her to just drink the bloody alcohol and not be such a pain in the arse. A little fall of rain can hardly hurt me now The thought of travelling on the Knight Bus drunk made Geralina's stomach churn. "Tersha's rich enough," she said. "I think you should get drunk and I'll be the designated apparater." That sounded like a much better plan. In fact, it was always the plan. Every time she went out with any of her friends she was the designated apparater, and it suited her just fine. She had fun, remembered everything, had zero hangovers, and everyone got home safely. It was a flawless plan. And one she hoped she could carry out today, though Jasper didn't have to get drunk either if he didn't want to, she didn't mind either way. In any normal house the kitchen would be close to the dining room, but there were at least three doors nearby. What on earth was in in the other rooms? "You know, some people have their kitchen upstairs," she said, closing the dining room door and wandering further down the hall. Kit's house was a pretty quirky layout, and the only one she'd been to with an upstairs kitchen, but it did exist. Maybe he wasn't the only one. She grabbed the next door handle and gave a push. "Witchy woooooo!" Geralina's eyes went wide as she caught the end of Gabriel Ollivander's song. Freya was cringing against the wall like someone was about to kill her, and Isabella was screaming her head off. Geralina backed out quickly. "Banshee room." She felt a teeny bit more comfortable after Jasper's words, but still gave the hem of her dress a little tug. Jasper had said Leo had a pool, there would probably be people in swimsuits and bikini's here, she had nothing to worry about. So she worried anyway. "Thanks. I just threw it on last minute, I wasn't sure what to wear." Well, that was a big fat lie, but she wasn't going to tell him how much she'd fussed before leaving the house. Jasper, of all people, would understand, but there were just some things that didn't need to be said. "And hey, we're kind of matching," she added, tugging playfully at Jasper's blue top, which was a similar shade to her dress. Either they both had good taste, or no taste at all, either way they were a pair. Again. She headed inside Leo's house ahead of Jasper and paused in the entryway, taking in the lavish decor around her. Her shoes clicked on the highly polished floor as Jasper led her out the back of the house, where people were already sitting by the pool and eating food. She didn't see Freya or Dorian anywhere, which made her feel a tiny spike of anxiety, but she pushed it aside. She was with Jasper, she was fine. She shook her head at the offer of food. "Please tell me this Leo has soft drinks," she said, keeping her voice low enough that only Jas could hear her. "If not, then yes to the food because I don't want to drown in the pool after half a glass of wine." She pressed her lips together to supress a laugh when Jasper began peering around the room like some sort of crazy detective. She had no idea what he was on about, but she went along with it. "Great. Let's check out everywhere else." She linked her arm through his and tugged him out of the room and along a hallway. The kitchen had to be nearby, even if she only managed to get a glass of water, that would do. She opened the nearest door and peeked inside. "Dining room," she said flatly. Though there was nothing flat about the overly fancy dining room, it was gorgeous. A little fall of rain can hardly hurt me now A barbeque sounded fun! Geralina was surprised when Jasper had asked her to go with him, but she'd agreed straight away. Usually she'd give a maybe and then think about it for a few days before talking herself out of it, but she knew Jasper would never ask her to go anywhere she would feel awkward. Still, she tried on five different dresses before settling on one. A white one with pink flowers that was a little bit frilly, and possibly too much for a simple barbeque. "Hang on," she muttered to Pippa, who was laying on the bed, watching with curious brown eyes. Another glance in the mirror, and she'd decided it was too much. Changing to a simpler blue dress, still with a flowery pattern, she gave an uncertain nod to her reflection, and then forced herself to leave her bedroom before she changed her mind again. It was just a barbeque, nothing fancy, nothing to be nervous about. She knew Freya and Gabe were going, too, so she had other people there to talk to if Jasper wanted to mingle without her. And Dorian was going. That was plenty of people in her comfort zone. But was she showing too much leg? The blue dress was pretty short. No. No. It was fine. She was going to be late. Giving each of her pets a kiss on the head, she promised not to be back too late, and headed out the door for the address Jasper had told her to meet him at. "Leo Zabini, Leo Zabini," she whispered under her breath, focusing on the address as she disapparated. She found herself at the end of a long drive in front of a huge manor in the Lake District. And there was Jasper, standing alone. Oops. She trotted over to him. "Am I late? A little fall of rain can hardly hurt me now Her glass tipped toward Jasper's at his cheers, but Geralina crinkled her nose up at the thought of drinking whatever was inside the glass. It was probably champagne, which she hated more than any other kind of alcohol. They had to have some juice or lemonade stashed away in the kitchen for the kids, she'd even take a glass of milk, anything would do, and now seemed like the perfect time to go and find it. "I'm gonna go and raid the kitchen for something less alcohol-y," she told Jasper, popping her glass down on the nearest side table. "Wanna come?" She'd be happy to go on her own, exploring the Lestrange 'castle' - for lack of a better word - would be kind of fun, she always enjoyed getting lost in Tersha's home.
