She'd met Mrs Flint a time or two and she was a lovely woman, she had raised her kids well, or at least one of them. Jasper was amazing. "Fine," she chuckled, "But only because I don't want to let your mum down." He'd played the card he knew she couldn't argue with, so now she had no choice but to feel bad about the gifts, and then feel worse letting him buy her tea and cake. Urgh. She linked her arm through his as they set off for Madam Puddifoots, leaving footprints in the snow behind them. "You don't have to make up for not being around," she told him as they walked. "You've been thrown in the deep end, you can't help it. We do miss you though. Even Dorcas and Tersha. Tersha was asking about you just last week, though between you and me I think she's just looking for her next victim, errr, husband, and you're looking a little bit richer than usual." She was joking, Tersha did not want to marry Jasper. As far as she was aware, anyway. A little fall of rain can hardly hurt me now The hall was filling up nicely, and soon Professor Vector joined her. Geralina grinned as Hazel pointed out one of the Hufflepuff boys in sexy underwear that barely covered the essentials. Technically, Geralina was one of "Gus' lot", and though she liked that her old house had a beautiful reputation, she couldn't deny that yes, the Hufflepuffs had always had a special sense of fun that people never often expected from them. She recalled a particular night in her sixth year when a group of lads had smuggled a load of food in from the kitchens and they'd had a secret party in the common room. Chocolate had been licked off of body parts that night, and not a single member of her house had told a soul about it the next day, and they all carried on going about their school life as the cuddly bears of the castle. She smirked at the memory. "They add a certain sparkle to things," she agreed in her own tactful manner. She stifled a yawn. "The house elves are bringing coffee. I think we're gonna need it." she added. She would have preferred hot chocolate, but that would have had her snoozing in the corner all night instead of watching the kids. Moments after she had said it, a mug of steaming coffee appeared on the bench beside her, another at Hazel's side. A little fall of rain can hardly hurt me now Her smile was a little bit more relaxed when Jasper put the pyjamas away. That portion of their day was well and truly done with, and thank Merlin for that. Her relief was short lived though, as Jasper handed over a gift for her. It was in a beautiful white bag with sparkles and pink paper, and she was loathe to disturb it, it looked so pretty. Internally cringing because she knew whatever was inside would be a million times better than what she had given Jasper, she carefully peeled back the pink paper to find a matching pink box inside. She was smiling, curious, but inside felt mortified because it was small enough for jewellery, and jewellery wasn't even in the same league as novelty pyjamas. She opened the box and her mouth dropped open in surprise. "Oh, Jas, you shouldn't have, this is beautiful!" It was a necklace, but not just any necklace, her birthstone and symbol, etched in diamonds which sparkled like the fresh snow on the edges of the village. She took it out of the box and looped it around her neck, fastening the clasp with well practised fingers and trying to glance down at it. It sat just above her dragons tooth necklace that Llian had given her when she was a teenager. She wore it every day, but the little bit of glitz complimented it perfectly. "It's perfect. Now I feel bad, thank you so much." She leaned up on her tiptoes - not really necessary given her naturally tall stature - and kissed Jasper on the cheek. He was such a good friend. "Let me treat you, Madam Puddifoots has my favourite yule log, I saw it in the window the other day. I think we need some." A little fall of rain can hardly hurt me now To her dismay, Jasper insisted on opening his present right there in the street, and if she could have sank into the wall behind her and disappeared, Geralina would have. And now he was holding it up and modelling it for everyone to see. She should have stayed at home and invited him round for a cuppa and some chocolate cake. Then he could have modelled it in her tiny cottage in private. Wait, that didn't seem right either. It dawned on her that there really was no way of her giving him this gift without suffering some kind of embarrassment. She should have just kept the pyjamas hidden away in her wardrobe. Or donated them to charity. No, that was a terrible idea, too. Cringing and grinning at the sight before her, Geralina tried not to make eye contact with any of the shoppers glancing their way and giggling. "Stunning. You look like some sort of Christmas God." He did. He probably had a similar body hidden underneath his impeccable clothes, to be fair, he hardly needed the pyjamas to look like that. He gave a little wave, and she would have returned it only she had one hand stuffed under her cloak for warmth, and the other was holding the naked Santa gift bag. She tried to make her smile that little bit brighter to make up for the lack of a wave, and stepped back a bit to make room for him. Her back brushed against the side of the shop she had been standing by, but her cloak kept out the cold from the slightly damp stone wall. Her eyebrow shot up and she lifted the bag with a cheeky smile at Jasper's greeting. "I've been very, very naughty," she admitted, then felt like a right tit being that kind of playful with Jasper. She let out a barely audible snort of laughter and crinkled her nose. "Merry early Christmas," she said, offering the bag. "You don't have to open it in public." A little fall of rain can hardly hurt me now Geralina was pretty pleased that Dumbledore had liked her idea. Not only had he liked it, he had approved it immediately, and she had been able to organise it within plenty of time. Her idea to have a mass sleepover in the Great Hall had been something she wished she could have done when she was at school herself, but the staff back then hadn't been as free-thinking or fun. Having all of the houses invited to sleep in the hall together and have fun would have been seen as a bit radical back in her school days. Not now. Now she was ecstatic to be lighting fires in the fireplaces around the great hall and dropping piles of cushions on the floor every few feet. The Christmas trees were lit up with enchanted lights, the house tables had been removed altogether, the ceiling showed a clear, starry night, and she only needed to finish dotting huge tubs of marshmallows and popcorn and other sweet treats around for the students to help themselves to. There were refreshments, cozy corners, and a sleeping bag for every child, though they were welcome to bring their own if they wanted to. Staff members were on hand, too. Geralina was in charge but she wasn't the only one who would be there, students needed supervision, after all. Pyjamas were compulsory, even for the adults, and she as donned head to toe in a polar bear bear onesie, with matching fluffy white bear slippers on her feet. The hall was warm with so many fires lit, but she had her hood up anyway, just to show off the cute ears on it. It was late evening, and already the first of the students had begun to arrive, and she had a smile on her face seeing the different houses excitedly mixing around the hall, finding comfy spots to settle down in. She had insisted that there be no curfew for the night. What was the fun in a sleepover if everyone had to be asleep before midnight. No, they could all please themselves, so long as they stayed in the hall under supervision. A little fall of rain can hardly hurt me now Geralina stomped happily along the snow covered street that lead from her house into Hogsmeade, the tops of her boots already white and wet. She loved the snow, and the rain, and any wet weather, really. Her hood was pulled up to block the winter chill from her cheeks, the fur framing her face and keeping in the warmth, and she carried a blue Christmas gift bag in one hand, swinging it in a rather unembarrassed fashion while she was on the deserted road. That would change as soon as she reached the busy village. You see, the gift bag didn't just have a picture of a snowflake on it, or something else simple and pretty. Oh, no. It had a picture of a half naked sexy Santa on it. She'd chosen it on purpose, thinking she might as well add a bit of humour to the occasion, but walking past actual people with it would be a challenge. She kept it pressed against her leg as she reached the first of the shops. It was a Saturday afternoon, and right before Christmas, which meant that Hogsmeade was bursting with people scrambling around to get last minute presents for their loved ones. Geralina was all done, she had finished her festive shopping at the beginning of the month, liking to be a little bit ahead of the game, but there was an extra present that she didn't want to leave under a tree for someone to open on Christmas day. She had been shopping a few days ago, not looking for anything in particular, maybe a new jumper, but she had turned into the men's aisles by accident and a sales assistant had been right there. Geralina had been pounced on immediately and it hadn't taken much persuading to convince her to buy something. "Your boyfriend would love those!" the assistant had crooned, pointing out different things hanging around the rails. Geralina had felt too uncomfortable with the confident woman to tell her that there was no boyfriend and she didn't want to actually buy anything. So she had left the shop with a pair of men's pyjamas. But not just any pyjamas. Oh, no. They were naked Santa pyjamas. The top was a ripped torso in a red jacket, the bottoms showing an image of some red fur-trimmed underpants - very tight ones - and lean legs that begged to be licked. She carried said pyjamas in the matching bag at her side, all through the village until she reached the corner where she was supposed to meet Jasper. He was the only one she could tell. Heck, he was the only one she could give such a pair of pyjamas to. She'd have given them to Flynn but she had already gotten his present. She'd have given them to Llian, only she'd given him his gift early because he was away for Christmas this year. She'd have given them to Dorian, only... no, she wouldn't have given them to Dorian. There wasn't really anyone else, and she couldn't very well keep them, or take them back. Imagine the embarrassment of trying to return or exchange those bad boys! No, she had to give them a new home, and Jasper was the only one who would understand how she'd ended up buying them in the first place. Everyone else would just laugh and tell her she was insane. Jasper would get it. It happened again. I took a wrong turn and ended up in the men's clothing department yesterday. The shop assistant collared me and made me buy something for my non-existent boyfriend for Christmas. I couldn't say no! So, you're getting an early Christmas present because there's no way I'm telling my brothers about this, and I can't wear men's clothes. Well, technically she's about to be a big sister, but she's not best pleased about that, so we'll try not to talk about it. Her dad died when she was about ten years old, and it affected her greatly, and turned her into one of the most determined people you will ever meet. Her mum is the Charms Professor and Ravenclaw Head of House at Hogwarts, and they live in Hogsmeade with Soph's grandparents.[break][break] Sophie is a good FRIEND. She's reliable, sensible, outspoken, and efficient. She would rather study than party, but her close friends know how to tempt her away from the books and get a drink in her hand. She's not a fan of getting drunk, and is pretty upstanding in most ways, really. She is a Prefect, and embodies the role perfectly. She might turn a blind eye for a friend breaking a minor rule here and there, so if you're her friend, she's got your back, but don't do anything too bad or she'll have no choice. Soph wants to be Minister one day, she's got a code to live by.[break][break] LOVE is not something Sophie is looking for at all right now. She's kissed a couple of guys, but never had a proper boyfriend. Honestly, she was curious about dating until recently, when her mother got knocked up by the Care of Magical Creatures Professor (and Soph's Head of House) and the whole thing just put her off the idea of anything romantic at all. For now. I'm sure she'll get over it.[break][break] Sophie's ENEMIES will never be looked at again. Ever. They don't exist to her anymore. She's a cold cow when she has a fall out with someone, and she can have a real attitude on her. She's good as gold most of the time, but if you get under her skin, or try to start something with her, she will flatten you like a bulldozer and never bother with you ever again. She has recently had a bit of an attitude towards Professor Bones, because she really doesn't ant anyone trying to replace her dad, so she's a moody arse with him, but again, she'll get over it, he was once her favourite Professor, time will heal her attitude. His temper is easily triggered, though, and he is easily baited, and hot headed. He will argue his point until the cows come home, and isn't a stranger to throwing punches as well as hexes.
