Sirius had been for a visit to Prongs’ and Lily’s for a little ‘in hiding’ brunch. If they weren’t going out and about anymore, for fear of Voldesnort, the least they could do was throw a mid-morning rager with their toddler son in tow. Lily tried to argue that there was no such thing, but Sirius won out and he enjoyed his time spent with the Potters and their little bub. Harry was growing so big that Sirius was going to be able to take him on his motorbike soon enough, though again Lily (and strangely James this time, too) seemed to think his plans were unwise. They were turning into such adults, it was disgusting.
Belly full, Sirius flew through the clouds, avoiding a flock of geese as he made his way home. The rumble from his motorbike sounded his approach as the tires gently touched ground and he rolled up the gravel parkway before coming to a stop in front of the old vicarage. He ran his hand through his shaggy hair as he hopped off his bike and headed up the path to the front door, humming a song by The Damned he’d had stuck in his head for the last fortnight. “Guess I knew that I always would. I can't stop to mess around.” His head bopped back and forth as he pushed open the front door and paused in the doorway for a brilliant air guitar solo complete with headbanging.

Regina drummed her nails on her dresser, chewing at her bottom lip. She'd gotten home from her six week tour yesterday and had gone to bed alone and woken alone. She wasn't sure if Sirius had come and gone in that time or if he'd just not slept with her at all last night, but it didn't matter because she'd been exhausted anyway and even if he had come to her, looking for a little fun, she couldn't have done anything due to the sheer exhaustion she was feeling. She hoped Sirius had come to bed and just slept beside her, or even better had a little snuggle, but at the end of the day she was used to her husband falling asleep on the sofa or staying at a mates house, and she was fine with it, he needed his freedom to be him. Today, however, she needed him for a little bit. She had some news that she thought was amazing! After months and months of trying to lock the marriage down and ensure Sirius would stay with her, Regina had finally fallen pregnant. She was nine weeks along and it was time to share the news with Sirius.
Patting the top of the dresser a couple of time Regina was ready with what she wanted to say, the only trouble was Sirius was not home. Regina decided she'd make him his favourite meal for dinner tonight, she could break the news to him when he was in a brilliant mood seeing that he wasn't home now. All she'd need was a new outfit and the family house elf to actually do all the cooking.
Regina pulled out her bag from her wardrobe just as a loud roar came from outside. Sirius's bike was unmistakable. Loud and obnoxious it put a dent in the sounds of the countryside. Regina supposed that maybe she could break the news to Sirius now, she wanted to do it as soon as possible really, and then the lasagne could be a wonderful celebration meal, and who knew, perhaps he'd want to invite his friends over, celebrate together. They were family to Sirius and now his family was growing by one more.
The front door could be heard opening and Regina made her way out of the master bedroom and down the hallway. As she came down the stairs Sirius came into view, headbanging away. Regina smiled, enjoying seeing her husband being absolutely bonkers and she was certain that news of a baby would only lift his spirits higher, after all he was ever such an amazing godfather to Harry so it only made sense that he'd be just as amazing, if not more so, as an actual father. "Hello, darling," Regina smiled a she stepped off the last stair, placing her bag on the floor near the bottom step, waiting for her husband's solo to be over.

Sirius was completely lost in his own actions, shredding a brilliant make-believe guitar solo, eyes squeezed shut, and hair flopping front to back. He looked like a fucking rock ‘n roll sex god, he knew it even though there was no one around to confirm – “Hello, darling.” Sirius let out a yelp and stumbled to the floor, scrambling for his wand which he managed to get out of his jean pockets just as he realized he was not being attacked (technically) but that he was, in fact, just a married sod. “What the fuck, Regina?! When the bloody hell did you get here?” She’d been gone for so long, Sirius had all but forgotten she existed. It was a nice several weeks but now the good times seemed to be at an end.

Regina was surprised as Sirius was so shocked by her beauty that he stumbled to the floor. She smiled sweetly and held back a chuckle. He seemed to be okay which was the main thing. "Last night," She said, knowing that meant he hadn't come to bed with her and that he'd likely not even been home. "I've missed you so much!" She said, unable to stop herself from approaching and wrapping her arms around him, placing her lips on his. After she was finished kissing him she let go and shut the door behind him, "Come in, get comfy, I've got some amazing news." She beamed.

She assaulted him with a kiss which Sirius begrudgingly returned, his arms practically pinned to his sides as she had enveloped him with her string-bean extremities. Sirius was certain that if he pushed her off him he'd break her in half and while that was a very tempting thought, he was sadly not that bad of a bad boy. "Another tour?" he asked hopefully. If she could just leave for months on end, his life would be perfect. Sirius trudged over to the sofa and plopped down on it, setting his wand on the end table and silently pleading that his wish had come true, that she was leaving for good.

Another tour? Merlin he was hilarious! Regina chuckled and patted his shoulder, scolding him playfully. She'd just got home and she was willing to bet that tonight they'd have a few drinks and have a wonderful, romantic night together, especially after she broke their big news! "Sit! Sit!" She said excitedly, bouncing on the balls of her feet as she followed him over to the sofa, waving her wand to start his drinks amixing while she slipped her wand away. Once he was sat she clasped her hands together in front of her and brought them up in front of her mouth. With his drink mixed it floated on over to Sirius. It was time. Taking a deep breath before lowering them. "This has been the best year of my life." She told him. "We've been married for ten incredible months and you've made me the happiest woman in the world." She said, "And now," She unclasped her hands and placed them flat on her stomach. "And now we're going to have a baby." She beamed, the news being nothing but amazing, and she couldn't see Sirius taking it any way other than hugely positive.

Ten months?! Was that all? Merlin, it felt like so much longer than that. It felt as though Regina had moved in years ago. Honestly, a decade in Azkaban was more inviting that a year with Regina. He really had to put an end to this. He’d been avoiding the inevitable for too long now, purely out of laziness and perhaps a teensy bit of pride. Having woken up still drunk and shockingly married in Las Vegas ten sodding months ago, Sirius had sworn off alcohol but being married to Regina had effectively reversed that resolution. He was teetering on the edge of alcoholism these days, if only to cope with having to be around her so bloody often. No, he had to wizard up and take care of this. He had to tell Regina she was off her sodding rocker, their marriage was an obvious sham, and she was high as a sodding broomstick if she thought they were going to plan a lavish anniversary party or whatever she was going on about. He’d reached the end of his ropes, which was a pity as Regina’s next words made him want to hang himself. “Like bloody hell we are!” he said with a look of shock and disgust. What sort of a sick joke was she playing at? They couldn’t have a baby! He didn’t want a baby! Not with Regina anyway. And not now. What the fucking fuck was she thinking?!

Regina's smile didn't falter. She was just to ecstatic! Yes, Sirius' reaction wasn't the best, perhaps he'd hoped that they'd have more time together as a couple before they had a baby, but this was happening! "I know this must be a huge shock, my love," She paused, taking a deep breath, her heart racing with excitement, knowing that once the idea had settled into Sirius' mind that he would be overcome with joy at the situation. "But we're going to have a child. You'll have an heir." Regina was carrying the next generation of sacred blood. The next generation of Black, and he, or she although hopefully he, would be part-Malfoy, too, a most splendid, perfect combination. Their child was going to be smart and beautiful, Black and Malfoy, Pure and Perfect.

At first blush Sirius thought she might have been hinting that she wanted to try for a baby but it was now all too apparent that this wasn’t a distant future sort of discussion. Fuck, it wasn’t even a sort-of-far-off future. She was sodding pregnant and Sirius felt his body moving of its own accord. “We’re not having a sodding baby, you nut job! This isn’t a fucking relationship, it’s the one-night stand from hell! Fuck, Regina, are you really that obtuse?! Delusional?! Who the bloody hell would want to have a baby with you, because it’s certainly not me!”

Wha-How? What? Regina's and was a muddle and she either couldn't take in what her husband was saying, or didn't want to, but either way she couldn't follow his ranting. Her brow was furrowed in misunderstanding. Had she missed something? Was there something going on that she wasn't aware of? Sirius seemed quite ticked off and Regina just couldn't figure out why. "Darling," She said, hoping her soft voice would help to soothe her agitated husband, perhaps it was because they were still so young that he had a problem with them having a child right now, but it didn't matter, they were having a child and Sirius was acting out from shock, "Let's just talk about this, hmm? This is a wondrous gift for us, my love." She smiled, although her eyes gave away the fear she felt in the pit of her stomach. She couldn't quite place her wand on what that feeling was, but it was something unnerving.

“There’s nothing to sodding talk about. You’re getting rid of it.” He was pacing now, wearing a hole in the rug from where his tough motorcycle boots trudged back and forth over the same spot. He wasn’t sure when he’d gotten up from the couch but he was up now and his body refused to stop moving. Dark eyes flashed toward the front door, his motorbike just outside. “Just… just get rid of it, Regina.” He started for the door, for freedom from the insanity that was playing out in his lounge. What in the bloody hell was actually happening right now?!

What was happening? Regina was both confused and hurt and she couldn't figure out why. She was pregnant. That was incredible news for the both of them, but Sirius didn't seem to think so. Instead he seemed to be throwing some sort of tantrum over the whole thing. Regina was shocked, absolutely shocked. Was this too soon? No, they'd been in love for ten glorious months! This was due. Perhaps she should have told him a little later on. No, she couldn't keep a secret from her husband, they told each other absolutely everything. So why was he telling her to get rid of their child? Why was he heading for the door? Regina followed him torn between running for him and giving him his space, "Sirius," Merlin, even when she was confused his name felt so sweet rolling from her tongue, "you don't mean that." She wanted him to stay, she wanted him to admit that this was an amazing thing but to do all that, she needed him to stay, "Stay," She stood where she was, the sweetest blue eyes framed by her perfect blonde locks looked too her husband, silently pleading with him to stay with her, to wrap her in his arms, breathe into her neck and just admit that this would be amazing. This would be the making of them. They would be the happiest family on the planet.

“I do. I bloody well mean it. You’re insane. You’re a nutter! This isn’t a real marriage and we are not having a kid. Just get it taken care of and fuck off.” He was out the door and on his motorbike without even a solitary look back at his house or the crazy witch. He had to get out of there and fast. If he stayed there’d be no telling what he would do but he felt as though he was about to leave his body and the only thing grounding him was the thought of jumping on his bike and flying off as fast as he could. So that is precisely what he did. He wasn’t sure where he was going until he arrived, but as the tires touched the ground outside of James’ and Lily’s house, Sirius felt the anger surge again, through no fault of his mate’s. He couldn’t storm in and rage about Regina falling pregnant in front of Harry. A brief moment of clarity had Sirius spinning around and heading somewhere he was sure not to be judged; Wormtail’s.

Peter stood in front of his bathroom mirror, brushing his teeth. Work with his father had been doing his head in a little lately and so a month ago he'd asked for a week off. Today was day two of his five days off and Peter had slept in until about midday, then he'd spent a little time in bed, just starting his day off right, and then he'd rolled out of bed and taken what he believed must have been the worlds longest piss. After that he'd not bothered to wash his hands and instead just made himself some toast. After that he'd had a shower, spending a decent chunk of the time thinking about Emmeline. He got out, brushed his hair then teeth and realised he could hear the deep, unmistakeable rumbling of Sirius' motorbike. He turned his head, trying to hear better. Yep, that definitely sounded like Sirius. Peter quickly rinsed his mouth and toothbrush. In a hurry he got himself dried off and dressed. His flat wasn't too messy, just a few empty beer bottles here and there, his plate from breakfast in the sink and an empty pizza box on the kitchen counter. He wasn't a messy guy, but he wasn't exactly someone that kept a perfect place. There were times when he wouldn't clean up for a week, but that was usually when he was only home for one meal and to sleep before having to head to work and do things here and there for the Order or get drunk with Sirius so he could pretend like Lily and James being all cooped up together didn't bother him, or like for the last twelve months or whatever it was complaints about having a hot wife. Peter kind of got where Sirius was coming from but at the same time he thought Sirius was lucky to have a wife that didn't ask so many questions. Sirius could be whoring around Europe and she'd turn a blind eye. She was a total nutcase, though, so Peter kind of got where Sirius was coming from. Kind of. Hopefully he was there to moan about Prongs and Evans, Peter always kind of enjoyed that, but he'd take bitching about Regina, too. He was a pretty good 'yes' man. Peter grabbed a couple beers out of the fridge and made his way to the sofa. He set an open beer down on the bare coffee table and leant back on his sofa, waiting for Sirius to let himself in any minute.

“Bloody hell, Wormtail. She’s really lost the plot this time!” Sirius let himself into the flat, having been muttering to himself the entire time he was trudging up the building’s stairs, announcing himself seemingly mid-conversation. There was no need for formalities and certainly there wasn’t the time! Regina was trying to trap him with a sodding baby!!! There weren’t enough exclamation marks in the whole of Britain to convey the shock, horror, and urgency of the matter.
Peter, for his part, seemed as though he’d been readying himself all morning for this conversation. There was even an extra beer waiting for him on the ring-stained coffee table in front of the scrawny bloke. “I told you she was a loon! A complete nutter. They ought to lock her up at St Mungo’s and throw away the key.” He plopped down onto the sofa, leaving enough space between him and Peter that two more men could have sat there, and sank into the cushions. He let out an anguished groan as his head fell backwards and he stared at the ceiling. There were spots of something on the ceiling, most likely old beer from when Sirius had attempted to chug a pint while doing a handstand and ended up crashing into the table and catapulting the other mugs of beer across the room. The splatter looked like a constellation, but he wasn’t sure what the picture was supposed to be. Probably a sodding baby, the way his luck was going.
