Peter had no idea what Sirius was on about but it didn't really matter, he was just a body for Sirius to talk at, not to, at. Sirius liked his little monologues and he needed an audience, that audience was Peter and Peter was ecstatic! He loved listening to his friend's complaints, it helped him feel as though he was an active part of their lives and as though he had brother's that weren't total wankers. Peter's life, he thought, was dull and uneventful, but Sirius had a hot wife that was, well, totally nuts, Remus was a werewolf, and James was wanted by the scariest wizard in the world! Peter was just Peter. There was nothing exciting about his life really, but he enjoyed being included where he could be. "Total nutter!" He agreed, groaning and rolling his eyes before he looked at Sirius who seemed very pissy. "What's she gone and done now?" He said with an exasperated tone as though they should have expected her to do something else crazy. Peter raised his beer to his lips, taking a couple of mouthfuls, waiting to hear just why Sirius was complaining this time.

Peter was a good friend. Even without knowing what Sirius was on about, he was right by his side, agreeing blindly. That non-judgmental, blind faith was exactly what Sirius needed right now. Merlin knew he couldn’t find it at home. “She wants a baby,” he said with a whine, scrunching his eyes up and furrowing his brow as if he could will the idea away. No such luck. Sirius leaned forward on the couch and reached for the beer that was waiting for him. “She’s already gone and got herself pregnant! Fucking….” He sneered and shook his head instead of calling her a foul name and then took a very large swig of beer before hanging his head in defeat.

Peter was of the disposition that Padfoot was, of course, overreacting to something. Peter casually drank his beer as one of his best mates said his wife wanted a baby. Well that was the naturally progression of a relationship, right? Sure what Padfoot and Regina had wasn't normal, but in Regina's mind it was so it made sense that she wanted to take the next normal step, right? Peter took another mouthful but pretty soon he spat his beer out, coughing and spluttering while Padfoot hung his head, "P-pregnant? Already?!" Peter coughed. Padfoot a father? Really? "What - what are you going to do, mate?" He asked, not sure what else to ask and he had no ideas on how to fix this.

Finally Wormtail was catching up to the proper level of shock and… well, shock! This was sodding shocking news, not something you just casually sat with a beer and chatted about. The bitch had trapped him in this fake marriage and now she’d gotten herself knocked up. Sirius would loved to have believed it wasn’t his kid, but Regina was absolutely obsessed with him, he couldn’t see her fooling around on him, not that he would have minded. It would have been a blessing to find out Regina was screwing other blokes, because then he wouldn’t feel so bad about messing around with other witches. Not that he had done so often – Regina sort of put a damper on his sex life. And not that he should have felt bad about it when it had happened, because they weren’t actually married. Not really. Only in the legal sense but apparently shit like this happened in Vegas all the time. How come people never talked about the fallout of drunken Les Vegas weddings? No way in bloody hell did they all live happily ever after. “I told her to get rid of it,” he answered bitterly, taking another big swig of his beer, but it didn’t calm the rage.

Peter was stunned at what he was hearing. He couldn't believe that Regina would be so manipulative as to force Sirius into having a child with her. Surely it was all some mistake? An accident? It had to be. "You didn't." He said in disbelief that Sirius would say such a thing, "What did she say?" He asked, curious as to what Regina's take on Sirius' comment was. It was a bit of a cruel thing to say, Peter thought, but then maybe Padfoot was right and she should just do as he said.

“No idea. I was out of there.” He may come to regret the way he handled Regina in that moment but Sirius was still too worked up over it all to get to that point. Annoyed, he stood and began pacing the length of Peter’s couch. “I mean, what the hell was I supposed to say? I can’t have a kid with her! She’s an absolute nut!”

Had Peter Pettigrew been a braver man then he may have perhaps told his friend that he didn't actually have much choice in the matter. He had a wife whether he liked the situation or not, and to add to that, he'd clearly been intimate with her, and Peter doubted there was only one incident, so he had to face the consequences of that. If he was dumb enough to sleep with a woman that had married him in Vegas, then surely he should have known to shag some other blonde and not his wife, but Peter was a coward and a such he nodded and sipped his beer while Sirius paced, "Absolute nut." He repeated, taking another sip of his beer.

It was clear that everyone agreed with him; Regina was a basket case. All he needed to do was lay low until this whole thing resolved itself. Regina would get it all taken care of, they'd get a proper divorce, and he'd only ever have to see when he passed by one of her poster outside a concert hall or something. Hell, she could turn the whole thing into a song, for all he bloody cared, so long as she was gone. "I'm gonna need to crash here for a bit," he told Peter, not even bothering to feign asking because he knew it wouldn't be a problem. If Pete ever needed the same from him, his place would always be open to him. That was just the sort of friends they were. Tell, don't ask. "Fuckin' women, man." He finished his beer and headed to the kitchen for another.
