Daily Prophet Main Offices

The Daily Prophet office is rather large, but the directory in the hall is less than helpful if you need to find your way around. Photography is listed on three different floors, the generically named “news” department isn't on a numbered floor at all instead it's on the floor lettered N (presumably for news), and the receptionist is located on the ground floor which, despite the name, is not located on the same floor as the street entrance.

Eeylops Owl Emporium

A specialty shop for owl owners or those wishing to become one. Eeylops sells all breeds of owls, as well as cages, treats, and other owl necessities.

Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour

A popular place for witches and wizards of any age, Florean Fortescue's boasts a spectacular 333 ice cream flavors. Sit for spell at the tiny metal tables just outside the shop, or ask for a cone and have your treat on the go.

Flourish & Blotts

On the north side of Diagon Alley rests the famous Flourish & Blotts. This bookshop is busy year-round but come the end of summer it's filled mostly with Hogwarts students and their parents picking up the next year's school texts.

Gambol and Japes

A joke shop for all you budding comedians out there. Stock up on Filibuster Fireworks, Whizzing Worms, or any number of your favorite prank devices.

Gringotts Wizarding Bank

Created by the goblin Gringott, this is the only wizarding bank in the world. The Diagon Alley branch, like every other Gringott's branch, is owned and operated by Goblins. In addition to storing money and valuables for wizards, one can go here to exchange muggle money for wizarding money, and vice versa.

The Leaky Cauldron

A popular wizarding pub and inn located in London and serves as the gateway between the non-wizarding world and Diagon Alley. The rear of the pub opened up onto a chilly courtyard that contains the entrance to both Diagon Alley and Knockturn Alley. To muggles, the pub appears to be a broken-down old shop front on Charing Cross Road.

The Whitmore Arcanium

One of the oldest and largest magical libraries in the country, The Whitmore Arcanium is located right on the edge of Diagon Alley, hidden from muggle eyes, and containing some of the most powerful arcane tomes in the world. It is open to the public, with every kind of book under its roof, but you will need to hand your wand over if you wish to explore the second floor of the ancient building, where all of the more powerful books are kept in pristine condition. The library is owned and run by half-vampire Elijah Whitmore.

Knockturn Alley

A shopping area filled with numerous shops devoted to the Dark Arts. Usually, unusual, dangerous, and scary people are found here. It is not a place you want to be caught unawares.

Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions

The name says it all; whatever your occassion, Madam Malkin's has you covered. Purchase school uniforms, dress robes, travelling cloaks, and, on very rare occasions, invisibility cloaks.

Magical Menagerie

A crowded, noisy little pet shop that specializes in familiars of various species; owls, cats, rats, and more. Items for pet care are also available here.

Obscurus Books

Selling the most popular literature, along with the classics. Inside the bookshop is a small tea shop and a lounge for the leisurely patron.

Ollivanders

Ollivanders is the sole wand shop of Diagon Alley. Peeling gold letters over the door of the shop read: Ollivanders: Makers of Fine Wands since 382 B.C.. The shop's display consists of a solitary wand laying on a faded purple cushion in the dusty window. The shop is tiny, empty except for a single, spindly chair in the corner. Thousands of narrow boxes containing wands are piled right up to the ceiling of the tiny shop, and the whole place has a thin layer of dust about it.

Cauldrons and cauldron accessories are sold at Potage's where you'll have your choice of size, material, and thickness. There's no place better for all your cauldron needs!
