How to deal with halitosis really wasn't something Lucius was after. He wouldn't even begin to think of how he might slip a little Angelica root into someones drink and honestly, he could just keep his distance. It was far easier. He would only have to be close to shake hands. That was once for hello and once for a farewell, so long as they parted on good terms. The type of person he was seeing today it could be a rather questionable meeting that might not go the way either one of them was hoping, but Lucius had been dealing with the fellow now since he'd graduated Hogwarts so he was used to what the outcomes could be and able to usually smooth over any disagreements while they were still in business mode. "Angelica root? Hmm." He mused, "I bet you keep a little something behind the bar for the not so pleasant patrons." He said, a slight smirk, eyeing her a little. Undoubtedly a boring conversation for her so he'd get off the subject before she felt that talking to him was all about reminding her of how lowly she was these days, not that Lucius thought of her as lowly, but having such a job as she had was not something you could proudly advertise.
"Enough about work though, I'm sure you don't want to think about it in your free time." Which would be more than fair, eh wouldn't want to talk about his business either, not that many people knew he had any sort of a job, everything he did was very hush-hush. Narcissa of course knew, but Lucius preferred to keep her out of it, she didn't need to know anything. The less she knew if he ever got caught, the better for herself. He loved his wife dearly, he didn't want for her to get caught up in anything untoward, not that Lucius ever had plans to get caught, he played things safe, only meeting with people when he had to. "Tell me more about your plans with little Mimosa." He said, turning the conversation on to something far more pleasing than work, "Going to sign her up for any puppy training classes?" because Dora was cute, she did not need a ferocious little dog keeping away potential husbands. She was still young, only about twenty if he was getting his maths about right, she still had time to find someone and lock them down, but there was no way she'd be able to find someone suitable with a yappy, aggressive little thing nipping away at ankles. A puppy was cute, to some, but as she grew she'd only become more undesirable and now he wasn't sure if he was thinking of the dog or Dora. Cute for now but she'd better hurry along or her heydays would be over and gone in the blink of an eye and this temporary slump she'd found herself in would become more permanent.

Lucius waited, just as he did every night, hoping that tonight would be the night that Narcissa forgave him for whatever wrong he had done her, for he most certainly had to have done something wrong. He had wanted to talk about their daughter, he'd wanted to express his feelings and emotions to the one person he felt safe with but it wasn't possible, Narcissa had shut him out and the strain was immeasurable. Lucius knew there was talk in the wizarding world of the two of them, he knew that there were people that gossiped behind their backs, some of those people were the ones they called "friends" but Lucius could handle all that, he could deal with the gossip so long as he had his wife at his side but for months now he hadn't even had that. Narcissa was killing him slowly each and every night. Withdrawing herself from him was withdrawing herself from their love. There were so few in their world that could marry for love. They were lucky, they were privileged and every second apart felt as though she was throwing that privilege away. They had no living children, they literally only had one another and yet that wasn't enough for Narcissa to come to him.
The door handle turned and Lucius made sure that he was tall and presentable for his wife. His hair was on the damp side and he was in his pyjamas but it was about saying goodnight, going through their nightly ritual so he could be dismissed by her yet again as if he was nothing more than some disgusting house elf, but he would subject himself to the pain and torture every damned night for as long as they were married if it meant that he got a glimpse of her, if he got to graze his lips over the milky, soft flesh of her cheek as he kissed her goodnight.
Thin and ghostly Narcissa appeared before him in the door way. She wasn't the woman he had fallen in love with, the woman that he had married. She was but a shell of that woman and as she stood there before him Lucius knew that he didn't care what version of Narcissa she was, he wanted to hold her close and never left her go. He wanted to envelop her in love and affection and connect with her. For so long she had been a part of him, had felt like she was one and the same person as he, but there was no semblance of that relationship any longer, instead she had her chambers in which he was excluded and all he knew of her life now was that she spoke only to her mother and sister, that she cried, and that she painted. That was all he ever knew. Even young Dobby, the borderline incompetent house elf was of no use to letting him know how his wife was getting on. "I've come to wish you a goodnight, sweetheart. I'm retiring to our bedroom now." In the beginning he'd tried to reach out to her, to stroke her face lovingly but she'd pulled away from him, from all his touches. Lucius was pained beyond belief but continued on, never letting his pain show, not even in private, for a man should not feel such emotion.

Death eater application Blood Status: truly pureblood - Sacred 28 statusConnection to the Dark Lord: Lucius first met the Dark Lord through his father and friends - The Lestrange brothers. Lucius was always part of a circle that had a little of a cruel streak. It was expected of him to become a Death Eater (not to mention something he'd wanted for quite some time) and so straight out of Hogwarts he was eager to join and prove his worth. With training by tutors and his father Lucius was already able to kill and had killed before he first bowed before the Dark Lord, offering his loyalty and allegiance. Brought before the Dark Lord was a thrilling and terrifying experience.Useful Skills: Being rich and from a prominent family, Lucius has been taught by private tutors on top of his formal education at Hogwarts. Lucius is a man of connections and while he doesn't officially have a job, he actually runs his own business procuring dark and wondrous artefacts for others. He has many channels through which he acquires these things and all on the hush-hush. Lucius can and has killed, he has connections to dark objects as well as a respectable, slightly illegal collection of his own and wealth that many could only ever dream of. He is a well respected member of society and gives generously to charitable organisations, a charming do-gooder, what better skill than to deceive the world.Useful Affiliations: Families in the Sacred 28. Many politicians in his pocket. Favours owed to Lucius by "respectable" members of society. Access to men with means to dark and dangerous objects. Himself and his dashing ploy to the world. Why join the Dark Lord? Instilled to Lucius from a young age were the knowledge and understanding of what it was to be a pureblood. He was taught of how he was superior to those with lesser blood, those half-bloods and especially muggle borns. He was spoilt for his blood status and that only went on to prove to the young and impressionable boy that he was something special. He socialised with other children like himself throughout his life. At Hogwarts he was sorted into a house full of like minded people from likeminded families. All these likeminded people were obsessed with a better world, there was hushed talk of someone, that was doing something. A man that could do it, that could bring their like to the top of the world so they'd no longer have to hide their powers and would be able to rule as they should. Muggles were inferior, hey were filth and Lucius knew this. Along with talk that this man would change the world there were tales of his followers; Death Eaters. The Death Eaters were said to be feared by many of the lesser blood and those that were of better purity and status admired them. Lucius deeply sought the admiration of others. He knew that he was incredible, talented and good looking to boot, but this, joining this cause to not only do the right thing but to also for the glory of it was simply irresistible to Lucius. It hadn’t been easy losing a child. The miscarriages in the past had taken the toll on Lucius, as they would anyone with an ounce of yearning, but it seemed there was something more heartbreaking than the loss after loss that he and Narcissa kept suffering in the early stages of pregnancy, they’d lost a baby, and actual baby. Carina had been so tiny, so perfect and yet there was no reason as to why her heart had stopped beating. Magic could not fix what ailed heir lives. Magic was unable to help them in their quest to have a child. Lucius loved Narcissa, that was one thing he truly knew in his life but all these losses … she just wasn’t the same woman. She wouldn’t let him in, she wasn’t allowing him to support her. She would see her mother and her sister, she’d talk to them but she treated him as if he were a stranger. It hurt. His heart physically ached for his wife but she kept him at a distance. He saw her every now and then but his day was full of not Narcissa. They’d been so close, Lucius was pathetic enough to have believed they were soul mates but he was beginning to wonder if that wasn’t just some kind of fantasy. He wondered if there was no such thing as soul mates. He and Narcissa had seemed so right, so perfect, but now he had no idea what to do, how to act, what to say. The one person in his life he had been most comfortable around no longer had any interest in him, in being his wife.
Knocking back his third shot of liquor Lucius lost all thoughts of his wife. A light brunette caught his eye and she flirted from across the room. Lucius was interested. Very interested. She was nothing like Narcissa. She lacked the class and the mannerisms that fine breeding and educating had instilled in Narcissa, her face was a little plumper and her height almost that same as his own. She was pretty but she wasn’t Narcissa. He couldn’t tell from across the room just what colour exactly her eyes were but they looked dark, nothing at all as shining as Narcissa’s. They lacked love, they lacked connection and she was exactly what he wanted. She was exactly the kind of woman he was after to satisfy his needs while the distance between himself and his wife grew and grew.
Lucius turned back to the bar he’d been drinking at. His needs weren't to the point of betraying his vows, not this time around. He finished off his beer and despite his usual routine he decided to head home for the night. He was tired, emotionally speaking, and getting a little fed up with all that was happening. He got down off the barstool, picked up his jacket, swinging it around his broad shoulders and slipping his arms inside. He left a tip for the barkeep and headed out the door, not bothering to give the brunette any kind of attention as he left. He didn't want her tonight but if she was about tomorrow then that might turn out to be a different story. There was no telling. As every day got harder to get through with Narcissa, the temptation of other women became greater. He'd had affairs, he'd kept them to himself and never wanted for Narcissa to find out. He was a man, he had his needs and Narcissa hadn't come near him in the ways he'd needed in months. He didn't hold it against her but there was only so much that he could take. He genuinely loved his wife but how much of this could he continue to take?
Turning right out of the pub Lucius made his way towards a small alley. It was dark and silent until a loud pop could be heard breaking the the still night of the little country town he was visiting. There was no need for a carriage. Travelling alone it was easy to get from one place to another and the walk up the driveway to home would help clear his head a little. It wasn't an overly long walk but it was long enough. Once he reached his manor he let himself in. The home was dead. Not a creek to be heard. He sighed. Narcissa would be in her room and in forty minutes or so she'd be expecting a knock at her door. Lucius took the time to head to his bathroom and freshen himself up, take away the smell and taste of alcohol so that he wouldn't give his wife the wrong idea about what he'd been up to this evening.
After freshening himself up with a shower and brushing his teeth a couple of times, Lucius dressed himself in his pyjamas, ready for bed. He slipped on his fur lined slippers and made his way down the hall to Narcissa's chambers. He hovered at the door for a moment, taking a deep breath while running his right hand through his slightly damp hair. It was killing him. It hurt to know that she was in pain and there was nothing he could do but give her time and space but honestly, how much time and space could he give her? He loved her and wanted to make everything right between the two of them, but when she'd barely let him even say goodnight to her, it made life difficult. Regardless, he would always say goodnight to his wife and for as long as she would let him, he would always give her a kiss and tell her that she was loved by him. Raising his gently curled right hand, he rapped his knuckles against her chamber door, lowering his hand and waiting patiently, not even bothering to hope any longer for anything more than a glimpse and a goodnight kiss.

Ah work, something not a lot of people knew Lucius did. As far as the world was aware Lucius was heir to a great fortune and that was about all, money was coming in from somewhere but anyone that would look and really, truly look, would only find investments made for the wealthy blonde on his behalf. If one really knew how to look then they might find that Lucius was involved in a lot more than just being rich and living a lavish lifestyle. Lucius had money coming from other, illegal means and it was kept entirely hush hush. His father's business was one he was now head of. He had been for a couple of years since Abraxas Malfoy had handed over the reigns in secret retirement. It wasn't a business Lucius would ever speak of and he never partook in talk of any such business. His father had not raised a fool. Lucius was cautious, not just because he could potentially land his arse in Azkaban but because if he was sentenced to Azkaban then what would happen to Cissa? She was fragile enough as it was, he couldn't take even the slightest risk that he could cause her more distress, something that would potentially kill her. Little Miss Parkinson, however, had a job to get by in life, something she could openly talk about although Lucius was fairly certain she might not fancy talking about being a waitress or bartender or whatever it was she did for Fin. Rumours had it she was his whore to boot but Lucius didn't buy in to nonsense like that, Finley was more than capable of finding a woman, he didn't need to pay some down on her luck young woman, and Lucius wasn't even sure if Euphadora was the sort to sell herself, sure she was relatively poor now and she was always flirting, but that didn't mean she was any sort of whore.
Lucius chuckled lightly at Dora, shaking his head just a little, a small smile resting on his lips, "Not at all, rather boring day myself actually. Just catching up with an old friend with some awful halitosis but I'm running a little early." He informed her. "It can be quite a pain having to deal with family friends." He told her, especially the ones with the worst smelling breath you could imagine. Lucius supposed Dora would have her fair share of patrons with bad breath, but if she wanted a little tip then she'd put on a smile anyway. Lucius thought that perhaps he might head out with the lads one night and pay Dora a visit while she was working. She seemed the type to offer service with a smile, and potentially a glimpse of her backside in a skirt the rode up as she bent over to fetch a drink from low storage, certainly something worth a decent tip but most certainly not any form of whoring herself out, at least not in Lucius' humble opinion but then what did he know? He'd never hired a whore before, he didn't have a need to.

Dora's voice was practically an invite into her knickers, a satisfied smirk crossed Lucius' lips as he walked along side the petite little dark haired beauty. She was always so floaty in her movements as though she was walking on clouds. She was raised a lady and despite the difficult times her family was putting her through, it showed. She was well dressed and well manicured, she was the sort of girl you could feel comfortable slipping your arm around as you strolled through the park. She was proper and attractive, her blood was some of the purist. Lucius would not complain to be in her company and if he was single he wouldn't mind taking her out on a date, being seen with her in public. She was the flirty sort, he'd seen her behaviour around other men and experienced it a time or two himself, but right now he wasn't able to just slip his arm around her as they walked, and he wasn't able to reciprocate any flirting but he'd certainly enjoy it. Perhaps someday he and Miss Parkinson could take any sort of flirting to a private chamber somewhere and see just where such talk would lead.
Precious was certainly an interesting word for the little pooch Dora was walking through the muggle park in the middle of the day. It rather suited Dora to have a little dog, something she could show off and accessories with. She was single, as far as Lucius was aware, and she was childless. There was no suitor lined up for her and so with absolutely no commitments it made sense to fill the inevitable void that must have had hold of her in life. The loss of her brother and father too would have been a big upset to her situation, then to have her mother turn her back on her ... well there weren't many people in their circle that would treat their heirs the way the Parkinsons had. "She most certainly is." He smiled at the little dog, his hands behind his back, keeping respectable mannerisms around Miss Parkinson, after all there was no telling just who might be paying close attention to the pair. "It's an absolute pleasure, Miss Mimosa." Lucius bowed his head to the little pup, curious a little about the name choice but not up for the conversation behind such a choice, instead he straightened up and looked to Dora, "Any plans for the day?" He asked, turning his body, ready to continue walking the second Dora decided she was ready. It would be unseemly to leave a woman of her standing alone in a muggle park.

One might not have expected to see such a prominent pureblood such as Lucius Malfoy out in the world, mixing with muggles but that was exactly what he was doing today. Not exactly mixing with muggles though, he was walking among them getting from point A to point B through a quaint little park where owners were letting their dogs run amuck, sniffing at one another's arses in greeting and chasing after balls. Occasionally Lucius thought dogs were much better behaved than some children. His own children would never act like some he'd seen or grown up with but he expected he would make a rather fantastic father and Narcissa, if she were able to put her head on straight, would someday make and incredible mother, however for the time being and the foreseeable future, Narcissa would not be a mother to a living child, it would be more than she could handle to carry another life inside of her again, after all, what if they lost the next child in much the same manner as Carina? Lucius wasn't sure if he himself could suffer another loss like that. His daughter's passing had taken quite a toll and what was more the whole of the wizarding world knew about it and pity was showered down upon the mourning couple. No wonder Narcissa had locked herself in her room for months.
The park was rather glorious in the sun. Lucius had one of his ark navy blue business suits on and walked with purpose along the path. The area he was walking through was rather better off than some locations around London and what was more a very pretty site struck his eyes. Slim and pale, dark haired and well poised. Lucius would have known that figure anywhere, despite the cloak the hung around her shoulders, keeping him from appreciating her dainty little frame as well as he ought to have been.
Picking up his pace a little Lucius pushed his hands into his navy, Italian woollen twill coat until he was level with Euphadora Parkinson. "Why Miss Parkinson," He said smoothly, his voice deep yet inviting, "What on Earth brings you and your little companion to the parks of Muggle London?" He enquired. London during the day was not such a bad place to be although it made it easier to spot the riff raff that someone of her standing ought not be around. Lucius was well aware of her financial standings in the world - it was common knowledge and a laughing point for some - but she was a Parkinson, she had some of the purist blood around and was even able to keep hold of the title of one of the Sacred 28. While she may have been at the lower end of the spectrum Lucius was surprised that no one had snatched her up. Young, beautiful and no family drama's to have to contend with other than her mother, who Lucius believed could be easily rid of for the right price. Surely there was some lower family, not in the Sacred 28, that would be willing to give darling Euphadora a life worthy of her name in exchange for her hand in marriage to booster their own name, or even take her surname as their own, purely for the strong reputation it had once held. All that malarky with her parents and then death of her father was nothing to be put off by, after all, Parkinson had survived worse in its time, all families had.

PERSONALITY Boggart: Narcissa killing herself. The thought that she might do something drastic has crossed Lucius' mind and he worries she may so far as to take her own life. Mirror of Erised: A happy family. Him, Narcissa and so many children he can't count them all in a single glance Patronus: Polar Bear - Marrying Narcissa, seeing her waling down the aisle, dressed like an angel. Is not able to produce a patronus
Lucius has always been sure of himself and through life that certainty has only gotten worse. He's arrogant and egotistical. He's aware of how handsome he is and his ego is rather large. All through his life he's always thought of himself and his own needs and since being married this has continued up until recently. He's always been giving to those that might have certain benefits to him, but Lucius has recently found his wife more in need of him but he's not sure how to be there for her. His attempts so far have failed and he's found himself frustrated.
Lucius has always considered himself greatly loyal to those that deserve it, however in some situations it's far too hard and he's been known, to himself, to cave. Well there's only one situation where his loyalty has wavered in he thinks it's fair. If anyone were to think otherwise, he wouldn't give a care. It's a private matter and as far as Lucius is concerned, he doesn't make mistakes.
He's very certain of himself and not overly friendly with those outside of the pureblood circles. He's a snob and an arse at the best of times. He can be quite level headed and logical but his prejudices make it hard for everyone to see this in him. Those close to him are aware of his twisted sense of humour and how caring he can be when he choses people worthy enough for his affections.HISTORY Mother: Briella Malfoy née Travers, pureblood Father: Abraxas Malfoy, Pureblood Siblings: ____ ____, sister, Pureblood Partners: Narcissa Malfoy, wife, 23, Slytherin Alumna, Pureblood, Sacred 28 Others: Carina Luciana Malfoy - daughter - read below Natalia Nott née Malfoy - Paternal Aunt Theodoric Nott - Paternal Uncle through marriage to Natalia Clementine Gabrielle Burke - paternal cousin, Slytherin Alumna, Pureblood, sacred 28 Lucian Angelus Marcel Burke - paternal cousin-in-law through marriage to Clem, Slytherin Alumnus, Pureblood, sacred 28 Evangeline Lucille Nott - paternal cousin, Slytherin Alumna, Pureblood, sacred 28 ____ ____ Nott - paternal cousin, Slytherin, Pureblood, sacred 28 ____ Travers - maternal uncle ____ Travers - maternal aunt through marriage ____ Travers - maternal cousin, male ____ Traves - maternal cousin, female Bellatrix Lestrange - Sister in law, Slytherin Alumna, Pureblood, sacred 28 Rodolphus Adalrich Lestrange - brother in law through marriage to Bellatrix, Slytherin Alumnus, Pureblood, sacred 28 Aurora Lestrange - niece through Bellatrix and Rodolphus, 6, Pureblood, Sacred 28 Andromeda, Ted and Nymphadora Tonks - Narcissa's disowned family, let's not talk about them
Trigger Warning - Miscarriages and still birth. Lucius was born to a very old and prominent wizarding family. One of the wealthiest in the magical word, not afraid to use their money to buy people, to worm their way in to all sorts of high class societies. The Malfoy family has long been known to mix with all kinds of families, including influential muggle families such as royalty, however because of their influences through the world, no one dares look down on them. They have power, they have influence and they're not afraid to use it to smite those that would talk or act against them. Brains over brawn, influence over power. Lucius was raised to act slyly, to work from the shadows while portraying himself to the public as a giving and generous man. Highly sought after he was the most eligible bachelor in the wizarding world, soul heir to the Malfoy name and fortune it was only the beginning of his life. Having been raised to be a perfect gentleman in private the boy also had a lack of compassion for others. It wasn't that he didn't feel, he just didn't care, and Abraxas Malfoy could not have been more proud. Lucius was the only son. His mother had difficulties with conceiving after Lucius was born, having miscarriage after miscarriage until Lucius' younger sister was born seven years later. More heartache followed for his mother but Lucius was oblivious to it all. He had his high society friends that he could manipulate in to doing as he pleased. All the boys his own age were dim and he found more stimulating interactions with the likes of the Lestrange brothers. They were older but had more smarts. They were easier to talk to and despite the age gap, Lucius made it clear they could not mess with him the way they did with other children, especially younger ones. He was not their equal but young Lucius felt that he was and it gave him a complex of being better than just about everyone. By the time Hogwarts rolled around he'd already had girlfriends. Girls, and the occasional boys, would throw themselves at him. At one point or another he 'dated' over half the pureblooded girls available to him. Dated was a loose term up until about twelve. Before then they just held hands and danced at events. He was highly sought after and he knew it wasn't just his money and family bloodlines, he was also damned good looking. After the age of thirteen he started treating his girlfriends to gifts to make them happy and in return they tried to make him happy. Lucius was never with a girl for long. There were a few repeats in his time and once he reached his sixth year he'd started hooking up with random girls, not dating them but just making out in classrooms or the occasional one night stand. Sometimes some one night stands just became friends with benefits and nothing more. Lucius always felt these girls wanted more than what he was offering but he wouldn't have a relationship with just anyone, but they were clearly glad to have him in any way they could for however long he would keep them in their presence. In his seventh year Lucius came across a fifth year. He'd seen her plenty but she'd always seemed a it dull for his tastes. Having been a champion at Charms he was asked by his Professor to help tutor the youngest Black sister and how could he refuse a direct request? He was Prefect but much to his fathers displeasure he did not make head boy. He was on the quidditch team as Chaser but he never made Captain. He did well at his studies, he had tutors galore, but he was never the absolute best at anything, though he disagreed, he just felt fools purposefully overlooked him. Over the course of his seventh year, Lucius fell in love with Narcissa but she was a fifth year and would could possible be betrothed to another once she was graduated. Lucius had time to talk his father in to talking to her parents. She was the youngest and therefore unlikely to be married off, however her middle sister ran off with a muggleborn and that left her more likely to be married off. Lucius made sure to have his feelings and wishes known and once she was graduated, the two started dating, with her permission and both of their fathers. After six months Lucius proposed, having sought her father's permission first, which he was of course granted. The following spring they were married and travelled a little together on and off. Lucius was in no rush for a child but Narcissa was maternal, she wanted a child and Lucius would have given her just about anything in the world that she desired. Their quest to have a child, a son or a daughter, was not the simple path they had expected. Fo four years they have been trying to conceive and they have been successful on numerous occasions, however they kept trying, Narcissa was desperate and after each loss she grew more and more withdrawn. Lucius started turning to other vices, drinking more, killing more, other women. He loved his wife but the woman she was becoming was unknown to him. They spent less time together despite his efforts and Lucius even began to wonder if he loved her any more. Their most recent loss, just before Christmas, when Narcissa was five months along in her pregnancy was the hardest. It was the farthest they'd got to having a child, Lucius had felt his daughter kicking from his wife's belly. Their child had been healthy until one day she just stopped moving. Narcissa naturally panicked, as did Lucius, only he kept his calm and reassured his wife. He spoke to her belly, wishing their child well and promising to love them forever but he knew it was gone. The healer came and confirmed their loss and Narcissa gave birth to their daughter. Carina Luciana Malfoy was buried on the 23rd of December in the Malfoy family graveyard. She'd been so tiny, so perfect. There was nothing wrong. One day she was moving, happy, darling, the next she was gone. That Christmas was their hardest. Narcissa refused to come out of her chambers and Lucius sought a bar for drinks and, accidentally, company. That was the first time he cheated on his wife but it was not the last. In the months that followed Narcissa retreated more and more, she pulled away from him and only spoke to her mother and her sister, Bellatrix. There was nothing Lucius could do. One day near the end of March she emerged. She was beauty and perfection. Her hairs was perfect, her make-up was perfect and it seemed as though she was herself. It was clear to Lucius that she had lost quite a bit of weight but she was in the process of gaining it back again. She looked well and as she joined him for breakfast in silence he just watched her. Once she was sat he reached out his hand, covering hers for a moment without a single word uttered. He loved his wife but it wasn't the same any more. The couple rarely talk and when they do it's all superficial and light. Narcissa refused to talk about Carina the one time he brought her up and she walked off on him. In his rage Lucius took to the streets, taking his rage out on muggles that crossed his path. Beating them up, ripping them to pieces and even going so far as to kill a few. All Lucius wants is for his life and his marriage to go back to normal but the colder Narcissa acts towards him, the more he feels himself resenting her.
