Blood Status: truly pureblood - Sacred 28 status
Connection to the Dark Lord: Lucius first met the Dark Lord through his father and friends - The Lestrange brothers. Lucius was always part of a circle that had a little of a cruel streak. It was expected of him to become a Death Eater (not to mention something he'd wanted for quite some time) and so straight out of Hogwarts he was eager to join and prove his worth. With training by tutors and his father Lucius was already able to kill and had killed before he first bowed before the Dark Lord, offering his loyalty and allegiance. Brought before the Dark Lord was a thrilling and terrifying experience.
Useful Skills: Being rich and from a prominent family, Lucius has been taught by private tutors on top of his formal education at Hogwarts. Lucius is a man of connections and while he doesn't officially have a job, he actually runs his own business procuring dark and wondrous artefacts for others. He has many channels through which he acquires these things and all on the hush-hush. Lucius can and has killed, he has connections to dark objects as well as a respectable, slightly illegal collection of his own and wealth that many could only ever dream of. He is a well respected member of society and gives generously to charitable organisations, a charming do-gooder, what better skill than to deceive the world.
Useful Affiliations: Families in the Sacred 28. Many politicians in his pocket. Favours owed to Lucius by "respectable" members of society. Access to men with means to dark and dangerous objects. Himself and his dashing ploy to the world.
Why join the Dark Lord? Instilled to Lucius from a young age were the knowledge and understanding of what it was to be a pureblood. He was taught of how he was superior to those with lesser blood, those half-bloods and especially muggle borns. He was spoilt for his blood status and that only went on to prove to the young and impressionable boy that he was something special. He socialised with other children like himself throughout his life. At Hogwarts he was sorted into a house full of like minded people from likeminded families. All these likeminded people were obsessed with a better world, there was hushed talk of someone, that was doing something. A man that could do it, that could bring their like to the top of the world so they'd no longer have to hide their powers and would be able to rule as they should. Muggles were inferior, hey were filth and Lucius knew this. Along with talk that this man would change the world there were tales of his followers; Death Eaters. The Death Eaters were said to be feared by many of the lesser blood and those that were of better purity and status admired them. Lucius deeply sought the admiration of others. He knew that he was incredible, talented and good looking to boot, but this, joining this cause to not only do the right thing but to also for the glory of it was simply irresistible to Lucius.
