Merry Legs What the hell? The woman seemed to be Italian or German or something, and Echo gaped at her when she came out with a load of foreign gibberish. Echo did not speak any other languages. The most she knew was a couple of swear words in French, but none of those had come out of this woman's mouth, so she was genuinely clueless as to what was being said. Her bewilderment was cut short though when the peeing brunette went on to speak in perfect English - minus the drunken slur - that this wasn't the first time she had been to the toilet in front of someone. Well, that wasn't surprising in the slightest. Honestly, if first impressions were anything to go off of, this woman didn't give a hoot who saw her bits and what they thought of them. It was kind of admirable in a way, but Echo was too desperate for her own wee to really give it that much thought. Instead, she leapt straight into the cubicle as Bare Arse exited, and swung the door shut so that she could still see her through the three inch crack. Peeing and watching someone try to fix their dress without much success was a task and a half if you didn't want to pee down your leg (Echo would not sit on filthy public toilets, thank you very much). Deciding to just wipe and get out of there, she pulled up her own knickers, feeling like an elegant swan princess compared to Bare Arse, and went to wash her hands. "You're showing your breakfast," she said to the woman as she rinsed the soap from her fingers and grabbed a paper towel to dry them. Tossing the towel in the bin, she sighed and crossed to the woman, grabbing the back of her dress and shimmying it down until everything was covered up. "Nice knickers," she commented, leaning against the counter beside the older woman and giving her a wry smile. She was gorgeous, and clearly insane, but her don't give a shit attitude was very familiar to Echo, and she felt a hint of a kindred spirit emanating from the woman. Either that or the rum had gone to her head. She had not thought herself that much of a lightweight, though. Nah, this woman was definitely made of a similar kind of steel to the blonde girl. _______________________ tag: Dorcas Amilie Meadowes notes: <3 outfit: Almost growded up. template by izzy [googlefont="Over the Rainbow"]

Sugar Rush Their battle through the crowd was uncomfortable, to say the least. Thanks to it being pretty cold outside, everyone was wearing chunky coats and big boots for her to trip over. She wasn't the most graceful creature, but she managed to not step on any toes. Something touched her hand as she carried on squeezing past people in the noisy pub, and she almost lashed out in surprise until she glanced down and realised it was Remus taking hold of her hand. It was a strange moment, and Echo smirked. She definitely wasn't the kind of girl to need someone to hold her hand so she wouldn't get trampled by beasts, so to speak, she could definitely tame a beast or two with ease, so it was funny to have a guy show some sort of protective urge towards her. Protective probably wasn't even the right word. Chivalrous? Maybe. Either way it was half insulting and half sweet, and she allowed it as they worked for that table, managing not to get separated. If anyone beat them to it, she'd be making a scene arguing with them. Luckily they made it through in one piece, and quick enough to claim the table, and Echo released Remus' hand pretty quickly and shrugged off her jacket, hanging it over the back of one of the chairs and glancing at the crowd around the bar. "You are insane for coming here on a Hogsmeade weekend," she laughed, glad that someone would come over and take their order and they wouldn't have to queue up at the bar for ages. She sank into her seat with a sigh of relief. It was good to know she could just chill out for a bit. Plus, food. Where there was food, there was always a happy Echo nearby. She picked up one of the menus from the table and gave it a quick glance. She really already knew most of the things that they served here, since she'd been here, well, a lot over the years. They had so many nice things for just a pub, but she kind of already knew what she wanted without having to look. Still, Remus didn't need to know that she'd practically memorised the menu. That was just embarrassing. If that kind of information got back to James, she'd never live it down whenever she saw him. No, she could pretend to peruse the meals on offer for a bit. _______________________ tag: @junebug notes: <3 outfit: Comfy and warm. template by izzy[googlefont="Over the Rainbow"]

Merry Legs Echo and her mother had been sitting at a lovely little table at the Ambrosia Lounge for about an hour or so now. They had been having an evening of what Callysto Everwood liked to call bonding time, and she had insisted that her youngest baby spend some one on one time with her tonight, just the two of them. Aeon and Nova hadn't been bothered at being left out, they had their own lives to lead, but it was strange to just be with her mum after months of being away at Hogwarts. Honestly, she had loved every minute of it. They had dressed up nice, something Echo always groaned over, but it was nice to be fancier than usual for a bit, and they'd had a pretty posh meal in one of the restaurants in Whimsic Alley. It was expensive, and Echo had fretted that they should have gone to the pub down the road instead, but her mother had insisted that she wanted to treat her, and so now here they were, a couple of redcurrant rums in their system - yes, her mother was allowing her alcohol since she was legally of age, despite her student status. "I'm just gonna nip to the loo," she said quietly to her mum, who nodded and picked up the drinks menu. "Shall I order us some fruity cocktails for when you get back?" Callysto asked, her elegant fingers trailing over the names of all of the fancy drinks on the list. "Yeah, that'd be great," Echo grinned, standing up and smoothing down her skirt as she glanced around the room, feeling a bit out of place. She was sure she'd get used to this kind of thing the more she did it. Once she graduated it'd probably just become completely normal for her to be going to bars, and dressing up. That was a weird thought, but she looked forward to it. Not so much the high heels, but the fun and drinking and other shenanigans. A little bit like those two women she'd seen laughing their heads off at the bar a few minutes ago. They were gone now, but the two seemed pretty far beyond sober, and Echo had chuckled with her mum, watching the pair, though Callysto had told her daughter that that was what she shouldn't be doing after graduation. Or ever. The walk to the toilets was long from where their little table was, but Echo made it in one piece, holding her head up high so as to not let on how much she felt like a fish out of water. She wasn't a kid any more, she belonged here just as much as everyone else, and the people who cast glances her way were just admiring her. That was what she told herself as she tried her best not to pee herself in her skirt and blouse and heels. That wouldn't be a good addition to the night. She was really desperate by now, and as she neared the doors that led to the toilets, a small crowd of people - probably on a work night out or something by the sheer number of them crossed in front of her, making her halt in her tracks while they passed. Didn't they know she was going to wet herself if she didn't get to the loo in the next three seconds!? Rude! "Excuse me," she said firmly as she decided to just part the crowd rather than wait for them to pass. She was only short, but she shoved her way through as politely as she could until she reached the toilets, and ran to the nearest one, pushing the door open. Yes! It wasn't occupied, and the door swung right open, Echo surging in to the tiny cubicle only to find someone mid-pee right in front of her. "Jesus, Mary, and Joseph! I'm so sorry!" she bellowed, eyes wide with shock as she stood there staring at the drunken woman from the bar. She should move. Turn around. Close the door. With her inside or outside? Outside! Definitely outside. Though if the woman was nearly done, it would be quicker to just wait until she jumped off the loo, then Echo could jump on and nobody would wet themselves. Really though, she should not still be staring. Echo stared. _______________________ tag: Dorcas Amilie Meadowes notes: <3 outfit: Almost growded up. template by izzy [googlefont="Over the Rainbow"]

Sugar Rush "Well obviously I'm made of rainbows and sparkles," she joked at his comment that she couldn't be that bad if she was a Hufflepuff. Honestly, Echo didn't see herself as bad at all, just fiery, and there was nothing wrong with that when it was used to stand up for yourself and your loved ones. She was no saint, but she might have had a tiny bit of rainbow about her. "Sounds like I should keep you around, then," she added, thinking that she really could use someone in her life with the ability to smooth situations over when her mouth got the better of her. It would be very handy indeed. Plus he was cute, looking at that face a bit more wouldn't hurt at all. Not in a pervy way, definitely not, but she could appreciate a pretty face when she saw one. She wouldn't be telling Remus that, there was honest, and then there was just unnecessarily awkward, which she was not. And now she was just getting way off track. "Well thank ya very much," she grinned, taking the Quidditch compliment on the chin and trying not to feel uncomfortable about it. She was good, she should own that! She did duck her head after the grin, and busied herself with paying the witch at the counter. Finished with her purchase, she stepped to the side to wait for Remus to pay for his own stash of sweets as he chatted about being rubbish at potions. Was he the male version of Echo? She was beginning to wonder, minus the whole being able to control his mouth thing. She laughed and tried to disguise it as clearing her throat. "You know what, maybe we should get someone else to make the sweets, and we can just taste test them. I'm crap at potions, too." Though she could make a mean pizza, but that technically wasn't cooking, was it. He held the door for her as they left the shop, and she ducked under his arm and out into the street, a spring in her step which was very much down to the happy morning she was accidentally having. "I'm not gonna lie, I'd usually have at least half a bar eaten by the time I get out of the shop," she told him, cringing. She was hungry for something other than junk food, though, and The Three Broomsticks always had pretty nice food for just a pub. The village was busy, but the pair dodged through the crowds until they reached the pub and headed inside. It was packed, but there were a few empty tables, and Echo nodded to the nearest one, which had a good few people blocking it from them. "Reckon we could fight our way through?" she joked, perfectly willing to go shoving through a crowd to get to the table, though she was only small, the taller people in their way might not even notice her until they felt her elbow in their ribs. _______________________ tag: @junebug notes: <3 outfit: Comfy and warm. template by izzy[googlefont="Over the Rainbow"]

Sugar Rush His scrutiny of her made Echo smile more than it should. She'd never really thought of herself as an instigator in any way, more a reactor, she couldn't stop herself in most situations if her buttons were being pushed. "I've never been called that before," she admitted with a grin, not sure if it was a good or bad thing. "I'm more the can't control my mouth and make situations worse kind of person, to be honest." Well that made her sound wonderful, didn't it. Describe yourself as a big mouth with no brain to mouth filter and a knack for worsening situations. Very nice. Of course she had a heart of gold, and her temper was usually flared when it came to protecting or standing up to or for people. She was a warrior at heart, though not enough of one to want to have any part in this war that was brewing, no thank you. She'd fight her own battles, and those of her friends and family, but not the worlds, that was for far braver folk than Echo Everwood, no matter how mean her right hook was. "They did," she nodded happily, glad to be talking to someone who knew their Quidditch. Or knew it well enough. The fact that people who had been through school just a few years before her were now playing in the pro leagues was highly encouraging. It gave her hope, and Echo didn't have a clue what she would do if that hope was shattered and she didn't make it. She wasn't the most intelligent person out there, she had to work really hard to get average grades, and flying was the only thing that came naturally to her. If she couldn't dedicate her life to it, then she had no backup plans. She had a knack for healing, but it wasn't something she enjoyed at all, as caring as she was, looking after people all day every day just seemed like a chore to her. Her mum and friends encouraged her to become a Healer, but she didn't want it for herself. If she didn't make it in the Quidditch world, she would undoubtedly end up working in a bar somewhere and punching drunks in the face every night for a living. "Hopefully I can do the same," she smiled wistfully and gave a shrug. Remus confirmed that he had no job as of yet, and Echo thought that he wasn't doing too bad. He had ideas, which was more than she had. "That's great that you know what you'd like to do, though," she encouraged. "I mean, if you don't end up teaching D.A.D.A, and I fall off my broom trying out for the Arrows, we could always open a sweet shop together somewhere," she laughed, crinkling her nose as he waved a triple fudge bar at her, having spied her sneaking one into her own bag. Caught. Oh, well. He decided that he had enough goodies in his bag for the time being, and Echo had to agree, though her ears tingled at the mention of lunch at the three broomsticks. A sure fire way into Echo's good books: Food of any kind. How could she say no to that? Besides, she was really enjoying talking to Remus, it might actually be fun to have a bite with him, it would at least be easy, since she found him a dream to talk to. "Uhh, sure," she nodded. "I don't have any other plans. It's better than sitting at the fountain in the square eating fudge flies by myself." Very true, though she would have done that all the same. Echo made a beeline for the counter as she spoke, her free hand rummaging in her pocket for some coins to pay the witch who was waiting to serve them. _______________________ tag: @junebug notes: <3 outfit: Comfy and warm. template by izzy[googlefont="Over the Rainbow"]

Sugar Rush Echo narrowed her eyes skeptically when Remus insisted that James never cheated. Maybe that was true, but she was convinced he would have gone that step further had he been able to without getting caught. His stunts and tricks were bad enough, she wouldn't have been surprised if he'd taken it there. "Hmmm." She stopped herself from making any further comments on Potter's flying habits. She'd never get past Remus' 'defend a friend' mode, it seemed, so there was no point trying. She did admire his loyalty to his mate, though, especially since said mate was a bit of a rebel. It was nice to see others willing to stand by their friends no matter what. Echo was cut from the same cloth, but she knew not everyone was so loyal, some people would run screaming and leave you to your fate, even if they were doing it by just failing to stick up for you when someone was making false claims about you. Ah, well, Remus was a good'un, it seemed, and that brought a smile to Echo's face. "Oh, I believe that," she told him with a nod of her head. "You come across as a genuinely decent guy. I'm sure you were the Jiminy Cricket of the gang." Would he know about the muggle cartoon movie Pinocchio? She had come across so many baffled people in her six and a half years at Hogwarts that she was surprised she still bothered to make muggle references, but they just slipped out. She couldn't erase her muggle father from her life that easily. He might have died four years ago, but he was still a huge part of who she was, and she didn't really want that to change. Whether he had any idea who Jiminy Cricket was or not, a bar of triple fudge mint choc toffee swirl praline was practically waving at her from the shelf, and that stole her attention enough for her to not really be too bothered about what Remus did or didn't know of the muggle world. Heck, he could have been a muggleborn himself for all she knew. It didn't really matter anyway. That bar of sin did, though. She eyed Remus to see if he was watching her before trying to subtly take one of the praline bars off of the shelf, tucking it into her sweetie bag and sliding back into conversation like she hadn't just decided to buy a treat straight from hell itself. It had to be to be that yummy, right? Completely naughty. "The Canons are great," she agreed with a grin, enjoying talking about Quidditch immensely. "I'm an Arrows fan. Imagine if I could get myself a spot as an Arrow! They'd soon be top of the league," she added cheekily, imagining herself in the Appleby Arrows uniform, flying out there at the Quidditch World Cup, people screaming her name and waving banners declaring "We love Everwood!" That was the ultimate dream, and not for the fans and the banners, but for the sheer joy it would bring to be able to do what she was best at for years, and for her skill to be recognised. To finally not be the average Hufflepuff student who has to work her backside off just to get an A in certain classes. To just be Echo Everwood, the girl who is fierce on a broom and can almost take someone's head off with a Bludger. Well, that would just be perfect. Of course she'd settle for any team that would have her, really, it didn't have to be the Arrows, but she could hope. "What do you do?" she asked, realising she knew nothing about Remus as an adult, as a guy who had been out in the world for a good eight months. "Or what do you want to do?" she amended, realising that it could take time to get yourself into something. There were probably far too many kids who graduated from school and had a job lined up for them, a house gifted to them by their outrageously rich parents, and not a care in the world, but for the little folk, the normal folk, it took time. Maybe Remus was one of those lucky people who had it all worked out, but she got the impression that he was as normal and down to earth as she was, which probably didn't mean he was rolling in money and servants. It was unfortunate, but it was rare to find a really nice super rich person. There were a few, she wasn't one to judge too harshly, but the majority were snobs and elitists. The majority wouldn't be seen dead buying stashes of chocolates in Honeydukes when they could have a house elf do it for them. Echo would never be like that. Even if she found herself rich one day, she would never take advantage of it, and she would always be found filling a bag full of treats in the middle of her favourite shop. _______________________ tag: @junebug notes: Oh my gawwwd, I'd LOVE to go there! Starlight New Year Ollie was talking, something about an apology for bumping into her but Echo could only concentrate on the fact that he had his arms either side of her, effectively pinning her against the table. She could have happily stayed there all night, but it wasn't something she was supposed to be enjoying. He was older than her. Only by a few years, but she was still at Hogwarts, and he was out there playing at being a grown up. She really didn't want to be fancying the pants off of someone that she probably wouldn't get to see for another six months until she graduated. That was just asking for torture. Imagine all those nights in her dorm, daydreaming about him while he was out there living it up with other girls. That wasn't a fun prospect at all, not that that was what she would do, she had more self control than to let daydreams rule her life. Echo had her feet firmly on the ground, she wouldn't be swooning, she would be working her cute little arse off to get the best grades she could manage, and get herself an audition for the professional Quidditch teams in the summer. Whether she had her feet on the ground or not, she could enjoy tonight and be carefree, and she was disappointed when he released her from her little cage. The distance didn't last long though, as his expression turned to one of concern, his hands running along her arms and making her skin tingle as he asked if he'd hurt her. "No," she breathed, unable to keep the slightly dazzled smile from her face. "I'm fine." She was better than fine, she was wonderful. A throat being cleared loudly behind her made her glance over her shoulder. Aeon was the throat clearer, Nova beside her with a wicked smirk on her face. Crap. "Err, this is Ollie," she said quickly. "Ollie, these are my sisters." Her words were actually much quicker than quick, and she gulped down the last of her drink and looped her arm through Ollie's before either he or her sisters could speak a word. "I need a new drink. Keep me company?" she asked, aware of her sisters waving, slightly stunned, as she gently tugged Ollie in the direction of the bar, her feet a tiny bit steadier on her heels than they had been when she'd first arrived. _______________________ tag: @oli and everyone! notes: Poor Ollie is spending his night being dragged about by bossy blondes! Starlight New Year "You can't just leave us to go and flirt with some random at the bar!" Aeon huffed at Nova as the middle sister gave eyes to some guy she'd spotted at the bar. He was about a foot taller than her - not an unusual thing, since Nova was tiny - and very handsome, Echo had to admit. Green eyes, dark golden hair, tanned, just lovely. In fact, with Nova's own green eyes and blonde hair, they'd make a pretty stunning couple. Not that Echo was marrying her sister off to a complete stranger in her head. She totally was. Aeon totally wasn't. She was annoyed that Nova wanted to break from the group already. It was still early, there was no need to go running off with the first guy you laid eyes on, according to the eldest Everwood, and Echo had to agree. She felt bad, though. Holding her sisters back wasn't something she liked to do, if they wanted to do something, then Echo believed that they should do just that. Unless either of them was planning on becoming a Death Eater. There were some things off limits. Hitting on a hot guy wasn't such a crime, though. Not in Echo's eyes. "Aeon, let her go, we'll be fine," she piped up with a shrug. She was happy to spend the night just with Aeon if Nova wanted to go her own way. Her drink was half empty by now, and Echo was really getting into the swing of things, looking forward to getting on the dance floor and having more drinks and just being completely carefree for the night. She didn't expect to be crashed into from behind, not until much later when everyone was blind drunk and couldn't stand up straight. So she was surprised at the bump, and spun, mouth hanging open in protest, and then hanging open even more in shock at who it was who had bumped into her. Oliver Devereaux. Drop dead gorgeous older brother of her friend Roma. Drop dead gorgeous or not, it didn't stop Echo from being happy to see him, though she did give a rather bewildered look at the tall blonde girl apologising behind him. Had she knocked him into Echo? Possibly. Echo didn't really care, she was just happy to see Ollie, and she didn't hesitate to reach up and wrap him in a hug. "Careful who you're bumping into, Ollie-O," she greeted with a grin, feeling the eyes of her sisters on her as she hugged a hottie right in front of them. She released him and pretended her sisters weren't there, eyes locked on Ollie's face. Her sisters would not get the opportunity to embarrass her right now. She'd disown them before she'd give them the chance to even speak to Ollie. _______________________ tag: @oli and everyone! notes: Heeheeee! <3 outfit: Bombshell. template by izzy[googlefont="Over the Rainbow"]

Hush Hush Kitty was talking, but Echo was too busy trying not to fall asleep. It would have made more sense to focus on what her friend was saying to keep her brain ticking, but Kitty's soft voice wasn't helping at all. And it was so nice shutting her eyes for a moment. Between the crackling fire, the hush of people talking in whispers around the room, and the cosiness of being curled up on a squishy couch with her friend, it was just the perfect recipe for dozing off. She wouldn't, of course, that would be rude, but it was a struggle to force her eyes open, to make herself think about anything other than napping. She didn't often nap, usually having far too much to do on any given day to have the time, but Echo did love her sleep. She wasn't a morning person in the slightest, and usually had the temperament of a disgruntled bear around her dorm while she was getting ready to go upstairs for breakfast. It took her a while to come around, but food usually perked her up for lessons, at least she had something to snap her out of it so that she could focus on her school work. Right now she had nothing. Nothing but the sinking disappointment in her stomach at Kitty's question. Realising that tomorrow was Monday was not a fun feeling. "Sunday all day," she answered with a groan. It probably sounded like she was groaning because it was Sunday, but it was most definitely because it was the end of the weekend, and nobody liked to think about that. "I think we should have another Sunday tomorrow," she went on, face glum as she stared into the fireplace. "I'm not ready for Monday yet." She was ready for Wednesday, though. Hufflepuff Quidditch practice was always a welcome thing, and Wednesdays and Fridays were their days to rule the pitch. If tomorrow was Wednesday Echo would be nothing short of dying with eagerness for it. She was captain of the team this year, and whipping her teammates into shape had been so much fun. The Hufflepuff team were stronger than ever, and they had a real chance at winning the Quidditch Cup this year, something that Echo would be ecstatic about if she was the one to lead them to the win. It would only help her chances of getting into Professional Quidditch after graduation, too. Yes, she definitely would have preferred tomorrow to be Wednesday. _______________________ tag: @kitty notes: Outfit. <3 template by izzy[googlefont="Over the Rainbow"]

Sugar Rush It took him a minute, but he finally clicked and asked if she was Everwood. "That's me!" She laughed, shaking her head at Remus' words. It was true, a lot of people liked to shout at James during matches, and during practices and tryouts and any other flying related incident. "It's a bit boring without anyone cheating and causing dramatics fifty feet in the air," she quipped, smiling up at Remus and wondering why he hadn't joined his friends on the Gryffindor team. Of course, it wasn't up to him, he would have had to try out like everyone else. Maybe he did try out and didn't get a spot on the team. It was probably best not to ask in case it was a sore point, but he seemed like he'd make the perfect spectator, so that worked out well for his friends who had him cheering them on in the stands. Echo had her own friends for that. Those super loyal people who liked to holler her name and make her nearly take someone's head off on the pitch because she was so distracted looking to see who was screaming for her. Fun stuff. She really did appreciate the support they gave, though, despite the dangers over enthusiasm could bring. Her face broke into a grin when Remus told her that the castle needed some new troublemakers without them. She narrowed her eyes playfully at him, though she meant what she was saying. "I get the feeling you might have been the real naughty one in the group," she said, moving past him and heading in the direction of the chocolate bars and chocolate everything, her hand tapping his arm to encourage him to go with her. "The quiet mastermind in the background?" she guessed, picking up a bar of raspberry bubble chocolate and scanning the other kinds that were on offer. There were too many to count, but luckily she'd been in here often enough to know exactly what she did and didn't like. "The title will have to go to someone else," she sighed. "I'm hoping to go into Professional Quidditch, I've got to keep a squeaky clean record for the year." She had been doing well all year to not land herself in detention. When the scouts came closer to the summer, they'd be checking school records as well as looking for talent for tryouts for the big teams, she needed to keep herself on track if she wanted to stand a chance when the time came. Not that she was much of a trouble maker. Her honesty and willingness to stand up to idiots sometimes got her a detention here and there, but she was generally a pretty good student. Maybe some of the sixth years would step up and fill the fun and mischievous hole Remus and his friends had left behind them. Echo could think of plenty of adventurous people off the top of her head who would fit the bill perfectly. _______________________ tag: @junebug notes: These two have such an easy vibe, it's lovely! <3 outfit: Comfy and warm. template by izzy[googlefont="Over the Rainbow"]

Sugar Rush If she'd have known Remus had such a lovely sense of humour she'd have maybe made more of an effort to say hello to him at school. Her smile was genuine as she enjoyed his line about chivalry, and blue eyes flashed with a dash of mischief as she looked up at him. "Let's just pretend you did," she told him, appreciating that he had a bit of honesty about him, too. Echo was nothing if not direct and probably too honest for her own good. Her brain to mouth filter was very much intact, but she didn't always give it the power it required, and overriding it was something that came naturally to her. She believed the truth was always the better option, even if it wasn't always what people wanted to hear. It got her in trouble occasionally, but it also gained her a lot of respect from her friends, who always knew where they stood with her. She supposed it was a fair trade, a bit of trouble for a lot of trust. Echo was more surprised than she should have been at Remus asking if him being friends with James and Sirius would end their conversation. Of course, she understood that the two boys and their friends had been the cause of much mayhem during their school years, and a lot of people were left with ruffled feathers because of them, but as someone who had only ever seen the good sides of them, it took her a minute to shake off the surprise. "Of course not," she said with a sincere shake of her head, despite feeling like he was once again jesting. "You lot didn't get on everyone's bad side, some of us enjoyed the show." Echo mostly enjoyed the show on the pitch, though it had irked her to no end whenever Hufflepuff had played against Gryffindor and James had just been awful when it came to cheating and playing dirty. She liked the guys competitiveness, but for Merlin's sake, it was completely out of line. And then off the pitch, he was hilarious. Luckily she could detach her Quidditch feelings from her every day life and not let it ruin friendships. "I'm Echo," she said easily, not at all bothered that he didn't remember her name. Why would he? They had never been a part of each other's lives, it was nothing to be sorry about, though he seemed like such a nice guy she might actually find herself feeling sorry she'd missed out on having him as a friend along with the others. "You've probably seen me screaming at James on the Quidditch pitch a time or two over the years," she added, wanting to give him something, anything, to possibly pin her face to so she might not be such a random stranger to him. Then again, picturing a raging blonde Beater shouting the odds at a Quidditch rival thirty feet up in the air might not be the best image to pin on herself. Oh well, too late now. Her eyes darted to the chocolate aisle at the mention of chocolate frogs. "I'm a terrible chocaholic," she told him, biting her lip at the thought of adding a chocolate frog or two to her bag. "You shouldn't encourage me." She really loved the encouragement. "Though I was thinking about grabbing a bar of that new raspberry bubble chocolate. Apparently it makes little pink bubbles fly out of your mouth when you talk." She knew she sounded far more excited about that than she should, but she had such a weakness for new weird and wonderful products, and made it a mission to try out every new sweet that Honeydukes got in, even if they seemed a bit extreme, like that time she'd drank some lemonade that made you whinny like a donkey. That had been fun. _______________________ tag: @junebug notes: No worries, lovely! <3 outfit: Comfy and warm. template by izzy[googlefont="Over the Rainbow"]

Hush Hush Echo would happily go to the kitchens right then and bake biscuits, but she knew that if she didn't get through the book that sat closed on her lap, she'd probably miss something important and get a 'T' in Herbology. She'd never gotten a grade that low in Herbology, despite not being too great at it, and she didn't want to start now just because her stomach told her it was a far better idea to make biscuits than study. She wasn't the most naturally smart person in the world, but she was capable of working her little backside off like a trooper until she got passing grades. If she managed to get on top of her homework, she'd be happy to skip down to the kitchens for some fun through the week. "Maybe one day through the week if I can get through my homework," she said sensibly, knowing Kitty would understand how much Echo liked to put in the hard work to keep herself afloat in lessons. Her free time was often given away to school work, and in her final year that was more important than ever, though it was also important for her to enjoy herself this year, because it was the last chance she was going to get to just do the things she loved to do around the castle, and she wasn't eager to let the year pass her by without some fun. Echo let out a breath of a laugh when Kitty told her that not falling asleep in the library was definitely a super power. "Don't let the librarian hear you saying that," she whispered, blue eyes glancing about for signs of any of the library staff. One of them, a young woman with dark hair and a very pretty face, was actually really lovely, and Echo wondered if the woman had ever kicked anyone out of the library since she'd worked there. She wasn't keen to test the woman now, so she kept her voice hushed and leaned her head back against the back of the couch, closing her eyes. "A nap would be so nice right now," she admitted, feeling the pull of the fire, taunting her, whispering to her that if she would just relax, the most amazing sleep would suck her in. A shiver ran down her spine, and she curled her knees up, wrapping her arms around them for more warmth, even though it was far from cold in the room. She needed to liven up a bit and get through her book, but it was so cosy. Maybe just a minute of resting her eyes. Or half a minute. _______________________ tag: @kitty notes: Outfit. <3 template by izzy[googlefont="Over the Rainbow"]

Sugar Rush Her bag was full. It really was. She wouldd probably get the shock of her life when it was weighed at the counter and the scale broke and she was charged ten million Galleons for the sweets and the broken scale. If she had that amount of money to her name, she would have paid it, too, anything for the bag of yum she had in her hand. She folded the top of the bag over, telling herself firmly that she was done, and didn't need anything else from the pic 'n' mix. She especially didn't need those honey clusters. Nope, she did not. Blue eyes lingered on them, all golden and crunchy and shimmering in the light as though they were winking at her. No. No, no, no. Echo sighed. "Damnit," she muttered to herself, shoulders sagging as she knew she wouldn't be able to talk away without some. Just one. One cluster. One tiny cluster, because she still had those cauldron cakes to get, and maybe a bar of chocolate or three. She really needed to land herself a good job to fund this food obsession she had, it was ridiculous and probably really unhealthy. Opening her paper bag back up, she reached for the scooper she had just put down, her hand closing over the handle, and another larger hand closing over hers. The strange hand retracted immediately, and Echo jolted with the surprise of having her hand grabbed, dropping the scooper in the process and cringing as it clattered loudly into its holder on the shelf. Better than it falling on the floor, she supposed. Her eyes shot up to the familiar face of Remus Lupin. James and Sirius' friend, the quiet one. He was a year older than her, and so already graduated, but she supposed it wasn't all that unusual to see a familiar graduated face around Hogsmeade, it was a popular place with adults as well as students. "It's fine, you were just warming my hand," she joked with a smile, reaching out her hand once more to steady the rattling scooper and keeping hold of it this time, because she'd be damned if she walked away without a few honey clusters. "You're Remus, right? James and Sirius' friend?" she asked, never having really talked to him at all. She was friends with James and Sirius through Quidditch, and so she knew who Remus was, but he had always been much quieter than the others, sort of in the background. She supposed that was why they'd never really known each other, but she had certainly noticed him over the years, he was so handsome, how could she not? "I'm finished with this, I just couldn't walk away from these bloody Honey Clusters," she said, scooping a few - what happened to just getting one!? - quickly into her bag and holding out the scooper to the blonde boy beside her. _______________________ tag: @junebug notes: Not at all, I'm excited to get to play with Remus! Hush Hush Echo had never had much luck with making biscuits, either. She hadn't exactly given it much of a try, though, if she were honest. Burning those cookies when she was fourteen surely didn't count, did it? Maybe another try was on the cards. "We should commandeer the kitchens one night and try and make some, I'm sure the house elves would help. Then we wouldn't have to wait for your mum to send some." It was a fine idea in Echo's head. She often visited the kitchens, and had not been a stranger in trying to make her own food if the house elves were busy, so attempting shortbread wasn't much different to her making her own pizza at midnight, or rustling up a sandwich when she'd been late for dinner. The tiny people who ran the kitchens were more than accommodating and understanding, and they did love a visitor. Plus there was the bonus of being taught by them. Sure, they used their magic for a lot of things, but they knew how to bake a mean pumpkin pie, and learning from the best was a huge perk of going down there and not being too lazy to help prepare whatever it was you wanted. "Oh yeah, allll the singing," Echo confirmed with a nod. She wasn't a bad singer, but she wasn't great. She could hold a tune, and she had rhythm, but was no ballerina. Music was just a life essential for most people, wasn't it? Echo liked to have a radio on for background noise when she was doing homework, or just hanging out with friends. At home she even had earphones that she wore when she was out flying. It was weird not being able to hear the world around you while you soared through the sky, and quite worrying at first, the prospect of a bird crashing into you, or even another person because you just couldn't hear them coming, but music and flying... bloody brilliant combination once you got past being disoriented! Flying to a rhythm, and even swinging your bat to one, or throwing a Quaffle through a hoop in time to the music was fun, and taught a surprising amount of control, sticking to a beat like that. As far as music in her dorm went, Echo didn't mind singing in front of her dorm mates, or any of her friends, for that matter, she wasn't shy. "You love my singing," she teased, nudging Kitty playfully. "And sorry, but I am definitely not more fun than a secret passage. Today I am homework girl, and my super power is not falling asleep in the library." She'd only done that once before, and nobody had been around to see. She had woken up in a chair by the fire, with drool on her chin and a pencil stabbing into her bum where she'd shifted in her sleep. Her parchment was crumpled from being squished under her armpit - she had no idea how it got there - and she'd had a dead leg, but aside from that she had considered it to be quite the decent nap. It really was the most peaceful place in the castle, especially in the summer when everyone would rather be outside in the sun. Of course, Echo usually preferred to be outside in the sun too, there was nothing like being out in nature to make you feel good, but the peace of the castle when it was abandoned was just lovely. She imagined it would have been like that over Christmas, too, but there was no way she'd ever miss going home for the holidays, not that she had that many left to skip before graduation. _______________________ tag: @kitty notes: Outfit. <3 template by izzy[googlefont="Over the Rainbow"]
