Regina could barely keep her hands off of Sirius. He looked so handsome in his Christmas suit but she couldn't wait to get him into his birthday suit later on. She was going to have to make sure that his glass was kept topped up and he was going to have to have be able to apparat home alongside her or else he'd be a complete mess and totally useless. She'd not spent a Christmas with him before so she wasn't sure if It was a time he mourned losing his family or if he enjoyed being away from them. He had a turbulent relationship with his family but Regina truly believed that given time, they would work things out, especially if they were to have a baby together.
Sitting at the table Regina smiled, looking at the food all laid out before them, "This looks amazing, Lily," She smiled, taking a seat, Sirius joining her pretty soon after. Regina looked to the red-head, surprised that she hadn't just placed a pile of garbage on the table "Oh my gosh, those beans smell amazing." They were sat right in front of her and scooped some onto her plate, smelling the garlic and bacon they were cooked in. At least all that talk about fruit flavoured thongs was over because that had really ground Regina's gears, not that she would ever let on, she would let her darling Sirius have his fun because Regina knew that nothing whatsoever was going on with the mudblood because she had married Sirius and he would be true to her for as long as they were together, that was what marriage was all about.

For the first time since everyone had arrived, Lily was amused. Remus cut James off and it was probably for the best. They tottered off to the kitchen and got everything out onto plates in no time, once something was on its serving plate it flew into the dining room and took its place on the beautiful table Lily had decorated. Everyone started making their way in, taking their seats, ready to eat. Harry was in his highchair and Regina was wedged between Sirius and Remus. Lily sat at the head of the table because honestly, she needed the most awkward angle possible so she wouldn't throw herself at Regina and strangle the daft cow. Speaking of, the compliments that Regina gave rolled off her, feeling fake and mocking, Lily forced a smile back but she dared not say anything, instead she took the roast potatoes from Sirius who was next to her and put some onto her own plate, jaw clenched, eyes focused purely on the crispy potatoes in front of her.

 Tonight we can truly say together we're invincible Seated at the table, James gave Lily a wink as he piled food high on his plate, not caring if there was any left for anyone else. He was starving, and there was no being polite just because they had an unwanted guest. Regina was dishing out compliments but James' wink beat those hands down. That wink conveyed everything in the universe to his wife. It said "you're an amazing cook, you're so sexy, you're the best hot mama in the world, you're handling today so well, I'm thinking about you in edible underwear, I know you cooked a small chicken just for me and saved it for later, I also know you stashed all the boxes of chocolates upstairs so that Moony doesn't find them and eat them all on us and you're just fucking fantastic."  They have stolen the heart from inside you but this does not define you There was only one thing on the table that Remus didn't like, and that was the beans that Regina was drooling over. Well, she was too polite and well raised to drool, but it was obvious that if she was common as muck like the rest of them, she'd have drooled a river. Ick. Remus piled broccoli on his plate, and saved the most room for meat. All the meat. Well, not all the meat, he actually had a small plate next to him which he was adding things to, just in case Peter showed up. Remus couldn't bear the thought of James eating every last crumb and Peter having no Christmas dinner. "So, Regina, where do you usually spend Christmas?" Remus asked politely, kicking himself as soon as the words left his mouth because he knew nobody at the table wanted to hear about Regina. What was wrong with him? "Merry Christmas." Peter said to his family who were all gathered around for a Christmas breakfast, he was absolutely exhausted already. His Christmas was what it always was. He was forced to go to his parents for the morning or else his mother would be heartbroken. Usually he followed her around the house, literally room to room so that his brother's would pile on top of him. He hated Christmas and any family gathering that put him in the same room as his brothers, they were bullies and he was always the one they picked on, they couldn't turn against one another, oh no, they had to go for him.
After three excruciating hours at his parent's home, Peter almost jumped up out of his seat the second the clock chimed to signal the half hour, meaning that it was time to go to James and Lily's place for Christmas lunch. "Love you mum." He said bending down and giving his mum a peck on the cheek, letting her stay sat where she was for her own comfort. "Thanks for having me, breakfast was great and I really love the socks." He grinned, then turned to his dad who stood up from his armchair, "Bye, dad." He said, shaking his father's hand. It was then he noticed that he had no idea where his brother's were, they weren't making a single sound. He felt instantly uneasy but he picked up the bag of presents he had for the Potter's thing, and the small bag he had from his parents and brothers. "Happy Christmas." He smiled at his parents, giving an awkward wave as he left the living room and walked down the hallway to the front door, his brothers nowhere to be seen. Relief washed over him as he reached for the door, uninterrupted. He tugged on the handle and pulled the door back and ... nothing. His brother's weren't there. He sighed, finally relaxing and stepped out of his parents home, only for both of his brothers to jump on top of him with the most primitive screams he'd ever heard. Peter screamed, crushed by his older, much larger brothers. From inside he could hear his father laughing loudly and his mother scolding him.
Peter had no idea how much time had passed, but he was shivering. His brothers had tied stripped him to his underwear and tide him to the front door. To make it more festive they’d nestled twigs of holly here and there along with some mistletoe hanging over his underpants. They’d added a little tinsel, a few gold beads and popped and Christmas angel on top of his head. It wasn’t until a neighbour passed by, taking their dog out for a walk, that he was let down. Shivering while his brothers and father laughed, Peter dressed himself shakily. The bags the presents had been in were crushed and he was fairly certain the presents hadn’t held up, after all he’d flattened them when his brothers had jumped on him, but he didn’t stick around to fix them, he wanted to get the hell away from his family. Shakily he disapparated and landed in Hogsmeade. Snow blanketed the picturesque village and Peter sat himself on the edge of the fountain, going through all the presents he’d bought and repearing them with magic. His whole body was shaking, he’d never felt so cold in his life, even with his warm coat on top of his jumper, tee and thermals.
The second Peter was done, he headed for James and Lily’s place and knocked on the door. He stood there, shaking from the cold when Lily answered. She invited him in and he headed straight for the fire to warm up. “I’ll be in in a minute.” He told her with a smile, taking his gloves off and rubbing his hands together while Lily went back to the dining room for lunch. Peter took off his coat and hung them up. He left the bag of presents for everyone by the tree and put his own presents under his coat on the coat rack. He gave his arms a quick rub and headed into the dining room where he spotted a free chair. “Merry Christmas.” He smiled to his friends, making his way to his seat, “Sorry I’m late. My brother’s were huge jerks again.” He said with an eye roll. He didn’t want to tell them all exactly what had happened but he’d told them enough in the past about what his brother’s were capable of and that was enough, he didn’t want to dwell on his crappy family for any longer than he already had, instead he dished up a plate and tucked in to a most delicious Christmas meal, spending the day with his real family, laughing and enjoying the day the way it should have been spent.
