Things were awkward and it seemed that everyone could sense it, even Regina, although would she fuck off? Lily scolded herself. She really did need to be nicer to the bimbo but it was so hard to do when she was clearly a bloody sociopath. She'd gotten Sirius drunk and married him. Who even did that kind of thing? Although Sirius had the chance to file for an annulment but apparently couldn't keep it in his pants so he was a little to blame for this whole thing right now, although still not as much as Regina. That woman was definitely wired wrong but Lily supposed when you looked at where she came from, this was probably considered normal to some degree. Whatever. Lily would just get on and enjoy her first Christmas with this evolving family of hers. "It's fine." She chuckled at Sirius, a spill wasn't anything a little light magic couldn't fix, "You've got it under control, looks like Regina's trained you well." She smirked, enjoying the thought of Sirius as a proper little house wife.

Sirius picked up Harry and was having a great time with him, right up until he knocked the drink out of her hand and it spilt all over the floor. Regina gasped, completely surprised that the punch had spilt and that Sirius hadn't seen a glass of alcohol! "Oh dear," She said, ready to help clean up but Sirius seemed to have it under control. He was ever such a wonderful guest. Regina chuckled at Lily's comment. Sirius didn't need any training, he was simply perfect as he was and anyone that couldn't see that was a bit of an idiot to be honest, but then again, there were a lot of a girls after Sirius so clearly there weren't too many idiots out there, although why Lily hadn't gone after Sirius was a bit of a mystery, Regina had always thought of her as rather smart in school. Regina supposed that maybe she knew she didn't stand a chance with Sirius. She was pretty but not in the kind of way the Regina was.

 Tonight we can truly say together we're invincible Nobody answered him. James threw his hand up in frustration. Was anyone even listening to him? They were all fussing over spilled milk, and he just wasn't interested in the carpet like they seemed to be. "I get more response talking to the cat," he grumbled, flopping down onto the sofa next to Moony, who looked like he wanted the thing to open up and swallow him. James had seen a sofa do that once. It had been a terrible spell, it had burped after swallowing the poor bloke and everything. Nobody ever saw the guy again, though there were rumours that he was spotted wandering around Peru, lost as a holey sock. "You can sit next to Lily for dinner, mate," he said to Remus, patting his friends leg comfortingly. "I'll take the bullet and sit by Regina." He could just ignore her and keep his mouth full of food, that was a reasonable reason to not talk to someone. So reasonable. "I'd probably be the more polite option for her," he reasoned, though he didn't know why he was trying to argue for a position beside Regina at the dinner table. He didn't want the seat. He really didn't, James could have it. "Thanks, though." He reached down and rubbed James' hair like he was a puppy. It didn't make a difference to his appearance, he always looked like someone had just rubbed it with a dish sponge. He nodded to the box under the tree. "There's nothing exciting in that," he told James, knowing he was eager to get to opening things. "It's mostly practical stuff for the baby. You know, clothes, bibs, socks. Some summer stuff, because you'll have a wardrobe full of winter clothes and the hot days will just creep in and he'll be out in the garden in a woolly hat and boots in the scorching heat." James was staring at him. Remus shrugged. “Yeah…” Regina training him was absurd, mostly because Sirius didn’t spend enough time at home for any of her attempts at training to stick. Though she seemed to think the sun shone out his arse – which, let’s be honest, it did – so there wasn’t much training needing to be done in the first place. Maybe he could train her to run away. That’d be a nice Christmas gift. He doubted Father Christmas could wrap that up under the tree, and the way Regina reacted to Lily’s comment only gave him a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach. Never mind the women, he’d deal with them later. “Mummy thinks everyone gets training, ‘cause she trained your daddy up so well. Can you say ‘whipped’, Harry?” He made a whipping gesture with his free hand and a little “whu-pah!” sound in James’ direction, who was sitting with Moony, both looking a little sullen. “For Merlin’s sake, Prongs, are we going to wait all day for Harry to open some presents? The kid’s dying for some wrapping parchment over here!”

Lily was torn. She was so excited to see Harry spend his first Christmas with loved ones and to be spoilt rotten, but she also had the strong desire to hide in the kitchen and hide the hell away from the intruding blonde she was fairly certain none of them wanted there. She was beginning to think Peter's tardiness was a smart plan rather than misfortune. "Hush up, Black." Lily moved to a comfy crimson chair and sat down, "Come on, play Santa, I think we can hand out everyone's gifts, Peter can have his whenever he decides to bless us with his company." She said,the sarcasm untraceable unless you knew her, which the majority of the people in this room did.

Regina watched the room silently, a smile on her face as she enjoyed watching Sirius with the people he cared about. She knew that with a little luck he would be a father in no time. They'd have a gorgeous baby together. Half her, half him, their little angel would be the most beautiful, precious child on the planet. He would be so in love with their child and by extension - her. They'd be the perfect family and hopefully by next Christmas their child would be the one everyone would be cooing over, adoring and making a fuss of.

Tonight we can truly say together we're invincible Padfoot was whinging about it taking too long to get to presents, and James rolled his eyes. "Well get over here, then!" he said, waving his arm. "You're the one hogging Harry, we could have had half of this open if you weren't flaffing about." Honestly, sometimes Sirius was oblivious to himself. It was legitimately like having a puppy sometimes. Or all the time. James stood up and began pulling presents out from under the tree shoving them closer to the couch, making sure to pick ones out that Sirius had brought just because Merlin help them all if they didn't fuss over Sirius' gifts. "Get stuck in." It gave him less opportunity to have to talk to Regina if his mouth was full, he could pass it off as being polite. He had a lot of tricks that helped him look incredibly well mannered when actually he was being quite rude. Everyone else at the table would know what he was up to, but as long as Regina didn't suspect that he didn't like her, all was well. Finally, they were getting around to the good stuff. Presents. Sirius was generally shit at gift giving, especially if it was a gift that required thought and care. He was brilliant at inside joke gifts and really anything he thought was humorous. So naturally, James would enjoy his gift, Peter would think the world revolved around his, and Remus would attempt to hide a smirk. Lily would scowl, he already knew that for certain, and fuck all if he knew what Regina would do. At least he had actually remembered to get Regina a gift, or rather Remus had pointed out that it was expected. He only needed one witch throwing daggers at him today.
Sirius rested on the arm of the sofa, turning little Harry around so that he faced the rest of the room. James was chucking presents at people but Harry was looking at him mum and making a pouty face as if he was going to cry. Sirius wanted to remark to the babe that he too wanted to cry having to be so close to Regina, but he kept quiet and tried to jiggle his leg a bit hoping a little bounce would help soothe whatever little troubles were going on inside his baby brain. “Oh, that one’s for later,” he directed to James who had just picked up a small box wrapped in green paper with a card addressed to Lily. “There should be another one in there for Evans. A less slutty one.” He gave a teasingly sexy wink in Lily’s direction, as if they were having a torrid affair right in front of her husband but in reality, he just didn’t want Regina seeing anything she oughtn’t to, like the location orb he’d set up for Lily that tracked the rest of her family’s whereabouts with the hopes it would give her some peace of mind. Regina must’ve shoved that one into his pack when they were getting ready because he didn’t remember putting it in with the rest of the gifts.

Lily didn't want to be in the room, but at the same time she wanted to be right in the middle of it all, helping her little lad open up his first Christmas presents, it was just one person making this whole thing all awkward, and the dumb bloody blonde seemed entirely oblivious to the whole situation. Did she honestly think that anyone here wanted her to gatecrash their Christmas? Lily moved closer to Harry, James and and Sirius, standing opposite Regina so she could get a good look at what Harry was getting and trying to make sure she could confiscate anything she deemed too dangerous before Harry had a real good chance to bond with anything. Hopefully he would be more into the wrapping parchment than anything he shouldn't be.
The presents were wonderful, Lily was pleasantly surprised. There was no confiscation needed as of yet. She peered at the next present, spotting her name but Sirius insisted it was for later, "Like I've told you before, if it's more edible fruit-flavoured thongs, then I'm willing to take one for the team. Anything to get more vitamin C into you." She was not and would never allow Sirius to eat anything off of her body, however the temptation to get beneath Regina's skin was just there for the taking and Lily couldn't resist. Perhaps she should have because it was Christmas after all, but this was Regina, it wasn't as if Lily owed her any favours.

Watching the room dote on Harry made Regina feel like a little bit of an outsider. She didn't really know all that much about the Potters or their son, but it was clear to anyone that paid the slightest ounce of attention that Sirius absolutely adored the child and Regina knew that when the time came for them to have their own child, then Sirius would be absolutely smitten with him or her too, after all, how could he not be? Half her, half him? It would be the most perfect combination, and hopefully, this time next year, they would be sat with their own little Sirius Jr who would be the centre of attention, everyone cooing over the couple. It was a beautiful daydream but Regina was brought out of it quickly when she heard Lily flirting with Sirius. It was obviously and very bad, tasteless joke, but Regina forced and obviously fake laugh in an attempt to save face, to show that such a thought was amusing and not a bother, "Oh you two," She laughed again, rubbing her hand over Sirius' shoulder for a second before she adjusted his hair. If Evans thought she could weasel in on Regina's husband, then she could bloody well think again.

He could recall the exact night that James was about to regale them with, but Regina didn't need the torment of listening to that, she was already stroking Sirius' head like a possessive lioness grooming her cub. Standing up, Remus crossed to the kitchen, thankful to be in a different room. He hoped his interruption had been enough to break up the conversation, but he didn't dare try and listen to see if it had worked. Instead, he busied himself with vegetables and potatoes, eager to get to the part where everyone's mouths were full and they couldn't say anything to make things any more uncomfortable than they already were. Regina’s fawning was growing evermore annoying and while he enjoyed watching James and Lily join in with poking fun at her, he was actually quite pleased when Remus suggested they switch gears and head to the table. He could keep Regina’s hands busy with her food instead of fondling him like a new puppy. “There’s a good lad,” he said to Harry as he plopped him carefully into his highchair next to where Lily and James would be sitting, then reluctantly took his seat next to Regina. “Looks great, Evans,” Sirius said as he scooped a large helping of potatoes onto his plate.
