Now more than ever, Lunete felt wise in choosing to live in Hogsmeade. The world was not a safe place any more, it may have looked as though it was one the mend, but for people like her, it was only the beginning. Muggles now knew of the existence of magic and they were fearful of it. Their papers were littered with deaths, strange occurrences and attacks. Vile, undeserved attacks. It wasn’t stated anywhere but the lack of muggle retaliation or anything happening from other countries, led Lunete to believe that they had the muggle Prime Minister and some of the tops of the tops, under their control. The ministry was beyond compromised, it was corrupt and Lunete had left, giving up her position as an Auror in order to get away from danger. She’d stupidly stayed long enough to be registered, to have that ridiculous neon yellow arm band strapped around her bicep but she’d left a month ago, getting away from the ministry and taking work at the Three Broomsticks. There she’d learnt of the Order when Dumbledore had come to her and asked her to join. Lunete joined without hesitation, it was the right thing to do. She’d even learnt that her brothers were a part of the Order, and Doc - surprisingly - held no objections to her joining.
Finishing her shift at the Three Broomsticks, Lunete was washing off her hands in the kitchen. She looked about the dark kitchen, the place no longer serving food but it wasn’t really the place you came to for food anyway. Maybe some chips if you were feeling peckish at lunch time, but really people came to drink, maybe have some nuts or crisps, but mostly just get drunk or socialise with friends. Lunete was glad to have a place where she wasn’t constantly looking over her shoulder. She’d had a run in already with someone that didn’t like her “kind” but Roz was on his arse so fast the guy would have had whiplash when Roz had literally thrown him out. The blonde was a lot stronger than she looked.
Stepping out into the pub, Lunete saw the usual crowd that stayed from dinner time until close. Lunete fancied maybe having a little tipple, but she didn’t want to do it at the Three Broomsticks, not while she was still so new to working there, so after she fair-welled the patrons, other staff and Roz, Lunete headed to the dodgiest pub she’d ever stepped foot in, thankfully it was more run-down than actual dodgy but the owner, Aberforth, seemed pretty decent. She’d spoke with him a couple of times after she’d started working for Roz after he’d spotted her arm band. She’d thought he was going to say something about her “kind” but that wasn’t the case. He was disgusted by what was happening but he seemed to have an all too familiar wisdom about him that she kind of liked.
Entering the Hogs Head, Lunete noticed it was busier than she was used to. There were a few beings here and there with their hoods low over their faces that she’d certainly keep an eye on over the course of the evening, but on the whole the atmosphere was a little more lively than she’d ever known. Admittedly that wasn’t hard and the place was nowhere near as buzzing as the Three Broomsticks, but she enjoyed being able to have a drink and then walk home. She placed her order at the bar, Aberforth going to get her drink told her it was on the house. She was appreciative and surprised. Aberforth was always so lovely, but looking about the place, she wasn’t sure how many other people in here were even half as nice.

 And the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night Zach hadn't been one for fancy places anyway, but since he'd been forced to wear that stupid neon strap on his wrist he had been even less inclined to visit upscale bars and restaurants. It didn't matter, not really. The Hog's Head actually served some really hearty steak sandwiches if you bothered to ask. The plates were a bit worn, but Zach wasn't fussy. He wasn't eating tonight, though. Tonight he just wanted to chill with a beer and nobody staring at his neon arm, judging him. Bastards. He had a table close to the bar, close enough that he could just call to Aberforth for another beer and one would float over to him. He had a tab, of course, one that was being paid for by his cushy new job with the Lestrange family. People watching for a solid half hour, he spotted a familiar face at the bar, glancing around as though she were completely lost. She looked lost in a place like this. "Hey, didn't you work at the Ministry?" he called across the four feet of space between them. He definitely recognised her face. He also couldn't help but notice her arm, with its obnoxious band. Zachary Zeller was recognisable by just about every woman at the ministry. He was probably the most handsome guy that had worked there and he was famous on looks alone. Lunete had no idea if he realised how a lot of the women there talked about him but it was almost like meeting a celebrity. Was that strange? She wasn't sure. She'd heard a lot about him, all rumours and probably not true, but it was going to make it interesting meeting him. "Used to," She said, confirming his suspicions. She'd trained as an Auror, managed to make it through the whole three years despite great personal loss, but then the armbands had happened and she was advised to get the hell out of dodge before she was forced ... or worse. It was unsettling to think that so many people were forced out of their jobs, or arrested or killed. Lunete had no proof that there were deaths due to the ministry itself, but a few muggleborns from the ministry had turned up dead, and surly that couldn't have been a coincidence. "Zeller, right?" She knew he was and something in the back of her mind told her she should have faked getting his name wrong, just in case he wasn't who she thought and instead some kind of intruder in polyjuice potion, but then who wouldn't know everything about who they were turning in to, and why would they approach her in The Hog's Head?

He wasn't sure what reputation he was referring to, it could have been anything really. He was popular with the ladies around the workplace, but he was also known as someone not to mess with. He'd punch your lights out if you crossed him, and then seduce your wife just to really twist the knife. Or maybe she knew him as the guy who was always first in line at lunch time, hogging all of the best food for himself. The options were endless. Regardless, she knew who he was and that was enough to stroke his ego. He stretched one leg out and pushed the chair next to him out with his foot. The scraping sound it made pierced the whole room. He was definitely as arrogant as she'd heard. Well, maybe not quite that arrogant, but still, he looked pretty damn smug that she knew his name, he'd even pushed the chair out for her, "You sure that's a good thing?" She asked, her brow rising quizzically as she looked at him. She broke into a smile and chuckled, "It's not all bad," She sat down and looked as though she were thinking back, "Mostly." She took a gulp of her drink then set it down on the table. "What brings you to such a fine and upstanding establishment?" She asked. It wasn't exactly a regular sort of place for regular people. The sorts at The Hogs Head weren't the type you'd randomly meet and want to hang out with and if he was meeting someone then surely he could think of somewhere far better than this dump, and if he wasn't meeting someone then what was he doing there? Lunete was too curious, she had to know.

Zach liked to believe it was because he was open minded and honest, people responded well to that. And to his sexy smirk. He wasn't looking for sexy times tonight, though, he just wanted to drown his sorrows. "You don't get snobs in places like this," he answered truthfully. "I need a break." Lunete laughed as Zach claimed to make bad look good. Lunete could see the appeal of the guy, but to her he just sounded corny and a bit full of himself. Lunete wasn't into pretty boys with arrogance issues, but Zach seemed like a good enough guy from what she knew of him and this limited interaction so far. "Just passing by and fancied a drink." She said. She was on her way home from work at the Three Broomsticks, but she didn't want to divulge that information, Zach may have seemed okay, but he could have been a total stalker! "Besides, I'm involved - sexually - with the bar keep," She said, nodding her head to Abe who was stood behind the bar, watching the pair of them. Lunete smirked, she was most certainly not involved in any way with Abe, but he was a good guy that looked out for her, so it wasn't a surprise to her that he was keeping an eye on her with Zach while he cleaned a glass with a painfully dirty cloth.

And the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night Zach considered this for a moment, his eyes taking in the bundled up sight of Aberforth behind the bar as he swished a dirty rag around like he was in a Disney movie. Nodding slowly, Zach took another sip of his drink. "You're punching," he told the girl. "He's a real catch." Honestly, Zach hadn't spent enough time getting to know the staff or regulars at the Hog's Head yet, but he didn't have anything bad to say about Aberforth so far. He'd welcomed Zach into the pub every time and seen to it that he always had a drink in front of him. They'd had a couple of light chats, but he seemed like a good bloke. Lunete nodded her head like she completely knew that she was batting above her average. "I know, I know, that's why I'm here." she said, "Gotta keep an eye on my man, make sure no one tries snogging his adorable face off." She said with a chuckle. She raised her glass and drank. She wasn't into Abe, no way. He was far too old for her, but she'd play along with the joke, she wasn't above a little bar fun in that sense, and it wasn't as if she'd have to actually take him home or anything so there was no harm.

Zach was a handsome guy and she didn't know where Abe's fancies laid, but to see Zach hitting on Abe was something she could do without, especially if Zach's charms worked on the older barkeep, then Lunete would possibly be finding herself throwing up. "Lu." She said, that was enough, she didn't want to give too much away, although that yellow armband that matched her own did give her the sense that she could trust him a hell of a lot more than most people she came across these days.

Zach would have said so if he'd had a few more drinks, but luckily for Lu he was sober and in control of his mouth to a certain extent. He was about to offer his own name but then remembered that she already knew who he was. Should he give his name anyway? No, that would sound daft. He had another drink instead, not really sure what else to say to this Lu. They sat in silence for an awkward minute until Zach couldn't stand it any more. "It's pretty cold out today, eh?" "What do you d-" Lunete went quiet, they'd both spoken up at the same time but she let him finish, "Yeah, I haven't really noticed it too much, though. Between home and work I don't really spend much time outside. Do you?" She wondered what he was up to now that he was't working at the Ministry, perhaps he was doing private work, he had the muscles for it, although what private work exactly, she had no idea. Security? Working with animals still? He didn't seem like the sort that would be an animal trainer or anything, but she recalled he'd worked for the magical beasts division in the ministry, so maybe he was doing something related to that these days.

"I spend most of my time outside, actually," he said, nodding. "I went private when I left the Ministry, but it's still a lot of handling beasts outdoors all day." He made it sound a lot more impressive than it actually was. In reality, he had gone from handling beasts and capturing some of the most dangerous magical creatures in the country, to looking after a little girl's unicorn and ponies every day. He was a stable boy. A glorified stable boy. But the pay was way better than the Ministry had ever offered, so Zach couldn't grumble. He did miss the adventure of his old job, though. Outside, that was good. Lunete wasn't a fan of all weather, but she liked the good stuff, like snow or warm sunshine. She was used to all kinds, though, she loved Quidditch and if her mum hadn't died, then there was a good chance that she would have ended up on one of the professional teams, making a living that way. After her life at the Ministry was turned upside down swiftly after her auror training was complete, Lunete just headed to where she felt safe - Hogsmeade. Whether it was the sight of the castle or perhaps the familiarity of the village, Lunete wasn't sure, but she felt safe. "Hey, that's really cool that you get to keep in with what you've trained for." She said, impressed he'd managed to bounce back so well, "I bartend at the Broomsticks down the road." He'd given up a little information on his end and so she was willing to give up a little of hers in exchange, and besides, he didn't seem like the sort that would turn all stalker-ish or anything, "Roz was willing to give me a chance even though I've got zero experience. She's good people." She said raising her drink and taking a sip. She liked her life in Hogsmeade, but there was always the nagging feeling that something bad was going to happen.
