You scar and leave me like a sunburn Last night had been wilder than intended. It had been a while since Noelle and Kai had gone out with their group of friends, since... Well, since the fact that they had shared a drunken kiss made her not want to get too out of control around him ever again. She told herself it was safe with a large group of friends around - ha! They'd kissed with their family in the next room! - and so she'd let her hair down properly last night. It had gone well. She'd been drunk as a skunk, lost her shoes somewhere, and didn't kiss anyone. The night life in Liverpool, where she lived, was pretty incredible, and they had trawled the length and breadth of the city, dancing, drinking, laughing, singing - very off key in Nelle's case - and just generally having a blast. There had been around eight of them at the beginning of the night. That number had doubled by eleven o'clock, and then by the time they were heading home at three in the morning, it was just her and Kai. He had slept in one of the spare rooms at Noelle's apartment - which was nothing unusual - and she had resisted, in all her drunkenness, going across the hall and confessing her love for him like an out of control maniac. She was convinced that the only reason she hadn't poured her heart out to him was because she'd thrown up and passed out on her bed before she got the chance. It was neither here nor there, now, because it was morning, late morning, and she was no longer drunk. She did have the hangover from hell, though, and had worried for her safety while she showered. Was the room still supposed to be spinning? Food would help, she was sure, but she needed to check on her best friend first. She padded barefoot across the hall, her pyjamas sticky on her still dewy skin, hair dripping on to her shoulders as she scrubbed at it with a towel to dry it out a bit. She knocked on the door gently, but proceeded to barge right in anyway. Courtesy was not for best friends. "Kai," she said, voice raspy and just awful. "Kai, get up. I need breakfast and I might burn the apartment down if you don't supervise." It was a legitimate fear in her current woozy state. _______________________ tag: Kai William Baddock words: 426 notes: <3 outfit: Jammy Dodger template by izzy[googlefont="Zeyada"][googlefont="Cinzel Decorative"]

If a story is in you it has to come out
Last night had been wild. Too wild. He didn’t how they got home – Nelle’s home that is, but he remembered holding her hair back as she puked into the toilet and he remembered almost vomiting himself because it was so gross, but getting to the loo, leaving it, get to one of the guestrooms, and undressing were all absent from his memory. As Nelle’s voice sounded like a bloody emergency alarm, the fear that there might have been something else he had forgotten, something tawdry, instantly dissipated from his mind. Instead, all of his thoughts were focused on the intense pain searing through his skull. He groaned and rolled over onto his bare stomach, burying his head under one of the pillows that had managed to remain on the bed despite Kai’s drunken stumbling the night prior. “Feckin’ A, Nelly. Keep your voice down, will ya?” His hearing was being extra sensitive, as were his eyes which already felt immensely better shaded by a thick pillow. Her raspy voice was sexy like a foghorn to his sensitive ears this morning.
He couldn’t imagine eating anything right now, but he probably needed to. “What time is it?” he asked through the foam pillow, his voice muffled but easily understandable for his best friend. He groped at the bedside table blindly searching for his wand but it wasn’t there. He groaned again. Slowly sliding his head and upper body over to the edge of the mattress, he opened his eyes. “Fuuuuuck.” Was the sun actually IN the room with them? There was no need for anything to ever be this sodding bright! He squinted and spotted his jeans crumpled on the floor, one shoe nearby, the other only Merlin knew where. His shirt wasn’t anywhere to be found either. Thank Merlin he had had the foresight to wear boxers out last night, or else this uncomfortable morning would have been taken to a whole other level. Pulling his jeans up onto the bed with him, he stuffed his hand into the pockets and found his wand. He conjured a pair of sunglasses and put them on, then sat up properly and looked at Noelle. “You look purdy,” he teased, though at least she had showered. Kai still smelled of all the things from last night; liquor, smoke, maybe a little vomit – Nelle hadn’t been delicate about it, not to mention his hair was sticking up like a cartoon character and he was wearing only purple and blue checked boxers and a pair of sunglasses. He felt disgusting.

You scar and leave me like a sunburn Nelle enjoyed watching Kai be a giant baby as he slowly came around. She glanced at the clock on the bedside table when he asked the time, and crinkled her nose. It was almost noon. It felt like it should be the crack of dawn, but it appeared not. She shook her head. "It's early," she croaked. It was technically still morning, she could get away with that little fib. Kai conjured some sunglasses and put them on, and Nelle focused hard on rubbing her hair with her towel. "You look purdy." Scrub, scrub, scrub. "And you look..." So hot I could lick every inch of your stinking body. "Gross." He really needed a shower, and she needed to spray some air freshener in the room at some point. Honestly, the thought of him showering scared her. He would be naked in her apartment. Naked and wet. Naked and wet and naked. In her apartment. He was practically at that point already, what with his boxers and sunglasses and not a lot else if you didn't count his sexy tousled hair. "Do you wanna risk drowning yourself, or can you come and help me?" she asked, pointing first to the bathroom, and second to the hallway and the stairs. If he couldn't even cope with sunlight, she couldn't imagine him coping with a slippery wet room, and holy Merlin, she needed to stop thinking about wet Kai. "I'm craving your sausages." Kai cooked a mean sausage. She kind of wanted the full shebang, sausage, eggs, bacon, toast, whatever else she had in her fridge. She could cook it herself, but honestly, trying to multitask like that with the headache she currently had was just downright irresponsible. She opened her damp towel out and threw it at Kai, aiming right at his head to try and cover him up a bit. He wasn't doing her any favours dressed like that, and she needed to get through the next few hours with minimal torture, or she might throw up again. Oh, shit. Had she barfed on him last night? A blurry memory of him holding her hair flashed into her head and she cringed, stepping further into the room and cracking a window open a tiny bit to let some of the smell out. _______________________ tag: Kai William Baddock words: 410 notes: <3 outfit: Jammy Dodger template by izzy[googlefont="Zeyada"][googlefont="Cinzel Decorative"]

If a story is in you it has to come out
He felt gross. Nelle’s comment only solidified it. Kai wanted to take a shower – needed to, really – but Noelle was hungry and needed supervising in the kitchen. His shower would have to wait, plus he didn’t like the sound accidental drowning which was a very real threat at the moment, seeing as simply being upright in the bed took full concentration. A towel thrown at his head didn’t help any, either. It smelled like her shampoo and Kai inhaled the scent instinctively before he realized what he was doing and forced himself to stop. He pulled the towel off his face and draped it over one shoulder. “Lemme take a whore’s bath in the sink right quick, then my sausages are all yours.” He could smell himself and that certainly wasn’t a good thing. The least he could do was splash some water in the pungent places and wash his face, maybe gargle some mouth wash to get rid of the oh-so-lovely cotton mouth he had going on. Hangovers were a bitch.
Kai half-slid, half-crawled to the edge of the bed and pulled himself into a standing position, feeling the pounding in his head intensify. Slowly, he made his way to the toilet where he freshened up the best he could at the sink, then somehow managed to put his jeans on backwards twice before getting them on the right way front. The sunglasses were a necessity still at this point, and he probably looked like a total prick wearing sunglasses in the house but he didn't care. He’d found his second shoe, but his socks and his shirt were nowhere to be found, so he went without either as he made his way to the kitchen. He’d need to wear an apron if he was going to be making sausages. He was already near death this morning, no need to add grease burned nipples to the mix.

You scar and leave me like a sunburn Nelle snorted. "Whore." She smiled to herself as she watched him struggle to get out of the bed, then realised she was staring and left the room as though her heels were on fire. She clung to the railing for dear life as she bolted down the stairs, and paused in the hallway to catch her breath. He just had to be half fucking naked, didn't he. The bastard. She rubbed her hands over her face, squeezing her eyes shut as her heart hammered in her chest. Kai's perfectly sculpted torso seemed to be burned into her retinas forever, and no matter how hard she rubbed with her first, the image refused to fade. Nelle blew out a long breath, steadied herself, and made her way into the kitchen. She poured two glasses of ice cold water, leaving one for Kai on the counter and sipping her own, the chill making her shiver. She opened the fridge, despite the cold, and stuck her head inside, checking the shelves to make sure the food was actually in date before she bothered getting everything out and ready to cook. The sausages were good, the eggs needed to be used by tomorrow, and she inspected everything else as she lined it all up on the counter next to the cooker. Nothing was out of date. That was good. What was not good was Kai walking into the kitchen in jeans and shoes, and not a lot else. Nelle stared for all of two seconds - Merlin's Aunt, he was perfect - before grabbing an apron from a small hook next to the fridge and crossing the small kitchen to him. She hooked the apron over his head and pulled the strings behind his back, her fingers brushing his bare skin as she tied a neat bow, expression one of open agony since he couldn't see her face. She mouthed a good few "oh my fucking god"'s and a few more "I hate this"'s before she patted him on the back and nudged him in the direction of the cooker. "Sausages. Go." She flapped her hands at the sausages, and busied herself cracking eggs into a bowl, every crack making her wonder if it was actually her skull splitting open and not the eggs. Why was it so loud? She didn't say another word to Kai. She couldn't. He was an arsehole for being half-naked in her kitchen, and there's was nothing she could do other than bite her tongue and try and get over it. _______________________ tag: Kai William Baddock words: 450 notes: <3 outfit: Jammy Dodger template by izzy[googlefont="Zeyada"][googlefont="Cinzel Decorative"]

If a story is in you it has to come out
By the time he got into the kitchen, Nelle had pulled everything out of the fridge in preparation for some large morning feast, the idea of which still made Kai want to hurl. All he had been thinking about as he padded barefoot through the house was whether or not it would be worth it in the long-run to have another few beers just to cut the edge off the pounding in his skull. Any thought of having a bit of hair of the dog was quickly thrown from his mind as Nelle draped an apron over his head, her crystal blues staring him right in the face before she moved behind him and pulled the apron strings taught into a bow. He should have been in too much pain to react this way, but apparently no one told his little mister, who grew excited at each inadvertent brush of her fingertips across the skin of his back. If only there were a few more bows needing tying, but soon enough he was patted on the shoulder and sent off to cook sausages, and to adjust his jeans discretely, thankful for the cover the apron provided.
Pulling a frying pan off the rack, it clanged against the other pans and made a terrible noise. “Muggle fucker!” With his free hand he steadied the offending chimes and then went about preparing the sausages. “Last night was…intense,” he concluded, deciding it was the most proper word to describe the events leading up to their mutual hangovers. “I don’t even remember coming home- er- here. We didn’t apparate, did we?” No, they couldn’t have. In his condition, Kai would have splinched himself for certain. The fact that he was currently in possession of all of his body parts was a good sign they’d acted moderately responsibly last night, though it would have been better had they not gotten that drunk in the first place. He struggled to control himself around Noelle, and alcohol did them no favors. He didn’t want to make it a rule that Maggie had to babysit him around his best mate, that was no fair to anyone, least of all Maggie, but she was at least a deterrent for his desires to act on his feelings. Minus that whole cloak cupboard business at the restaurant…
