There was silence. Dorcas didn't really expect anything to happen but she went ahead and got herself a glass and poured the orange juice. Tonight could have been so fun, but of course Tersha had decided to hook up with a vampire, probably without even realising what she was getting up to. They'd gone out tonight because Dorcas was pregnant, expecting twins, and if Tersha ended the night knocked up by a vampire, well Dorcas would cackle her arse off until she collapsed. It would shit up Tersha's plans, but she deserved it, making Dorcas get married was evil, Dorcas needed her revenge. Why oh why hadn't she poked holes in condoms? Maybe she could add sugar to Tersha's morning after potion, if she were to take one, and fuck it all up. Dorcas took a gulp of orange juice. She'd not fuck up her friends life that much. Probably. Maybe. Nah. Besides, what the hell would Tersha know about raising a half-vampire? Dorcas supposed she could talk to Kit about it. Perhaps it was that she was now sober, or perhaps because she'd thought of the incompetent tit, but Dorcas finally connected the dots. When she'd found out what Kit was, she'd dived as deep as she could into his life, without his knowledge of course, and she'd found out about his parents. His mother had died of an addiction, and given that one of his parents was a vampire, she highly suspected that his father had been the one to be immortal, one Maximus Devereaux. So why, when she'd met a vampire in a club called Maximus, had she not connected the dots? And what was more, Maximus was the spitting image of an older, more mature, ad definitely sexier, Ollie Devereaux, someone Dorcas didn't really know but that she'd seen about in person a couple of times and she'd watched him at matches. Everything was laid out in her mind and she could have slapped herself for being so slow. Alcohol really was bad. "Well if you're just going to stalk me all night then I'm just gonna have to talk." She warned Max, even if he wasn't listening in on her, if he wasn't anywhere near by, then she could still have a perfectly lovely conversation with herself, for herself. "Let's see. I'm a Scorpio, I work in the ministry but I'm pretty sure you already know that," Because without a single doubt in her mind, Dorcas knew, just knew that Kit would obsess about her at home. It was crazy how much he wanted to shag her. "I like Quidditch, horse riding, and swimming." She paused for a second, "And what about you, Maximus?" She wasn't holding out hope for an answer, but she'd carry on the conversation anyway, after giving him time to ignore her, obviously.

Dorcas tapped her foot impatiently in the lift as it went up. She folded her arms, a clearly sour look on her face. Eventually, after what felt like bloody forever, the lift dinged and the doors opened. Dorcas pushed her way out of them before they were even finished opening and saw the backsides of Tersha and the vampire going into a room towards the end of the corridor. Dorcas looked at her room key and moved to the door closest to her on the right, next to Tersha's room. Along the corridor there were only four doors, two on the right and two on the left, and they were all quite distanced. Dorcas unlocked the door to her suite and walked in, locking the door behind her at once. The room she'd walked into was huge, easily large enough to home a family of four. There were three large, cream sofas that surrounded a large glass coffee table over by the far windows. There was a bar just to her left. On the right was a kitchen with a breakfast bar and four barstools. It wasn't the biggest suite, nor the fanciest that she'd ever stayed in, but it was pretty impressive. Heading to the fridge in the kitchen, Dorcas peered inside to see it fully stocked with all kinds of drinks. She picked herself out some juice that was probably intended as a mixer but Dorcas wasn't drinking so it was just straight orange juice for her. "And just how long do you plan on watching me?" She asked the room. It was a question directed at Max, even though she couldn't be certain that he'd followed her, but if she was in his position, she would have been following herself.

Dorcas had told Tersha that she wasn’t going to go to the weird barn party in the middle of nowhere because she had too much on. She’d thrown herself into her work after a new lead came up, and she was certain she was going to stay home for the night. Until she wasn’t. She was bored, she’d come to another dead end about the white fucking wolf that could possibly help her track who it was that she’d been attacked by and she needed a break, so throwing on the first short dress she found in her wardrobe, Dorcas put on some heals, did her hair and make up and left, disapparating from her room and landing in a field, a stones throw from a shed, Ger, Jasp, Leo, and that Dora chick that had made Leo’s barbecue worth mentioning in passing conversation to Tersha. “Hey.” She said, nodding her head to the crew but she wasn’t going to wait around for a drink, she pulled the door open, more than happy to gate crash, wondering if Tersha was going to come or not. “See you guys inside.” She walked in, looking about the decorated barn and spotted a bar right at the back. Oh sweet Merlin, yes. Now this was how you did a party. She was going to have a shot or two and then she was going to dance her round little tooshie off.

Dorcas followed the snogging couple all the way down the alley and onto the next. There weren't as many people this way but the vampire sure knew where he was going. He carried Tersha into a hotel and Dorcas watched from outside through the glass doors. She could figure from there what the vampires intentions were. The likelihood that he would have himself a snack seemed to significantly reduce, after all a vampire wouldn't take someone to a hotel, just for a snack, not that Tersha was going to snack on anything beside the obvious.

How? His coyness was irritating, and Dorcas went so far as to roll her eyes. "How indeed." She drawled in a shitty posh voice. Her drink was placed down in the bar in front of her and she wasted no time in picking it up and consuming it. She just consumed the tall glass of blue liquid in one go before almost slamming the glass son the bar. A cold sensation washed over her as though she'd been dunked in a pool of cold water. The chill that ran over her made the hairs on her arm stick up on end and she shivered for a second, "Well Maximus, this has been entirely unusual, but I have a witch to see about a vampire." She said, still tingling a little from the drink as she felt the her mind freshening up. She turned about and headed for the exit to catch up with Tersha, knowing Tersha she'd be pinned up against the wall in some alley close by, hopefully just snogging the crap out of the hot guy and not having her life drained from her.

Dorcas watched Maximus hold up three fingers to the bartender and he immediately went to work, pouring three rums. Dorcas didn’t need any confirmation that Maximus was a vampire, the evidence was overwhelming, but what about his friend? Dorcas suspected that he was very much the same as Maximus here but he wasn’t flaunting his abilities, he was keeping his head low; on Tersha, apparently. “There're mysteries to unravel, are there?" She quirked an eyebrow, there were always mysteries, but not many got by her, or so she liked to think. "Have you ever heard of 'One's an incident, two's a coincidence, three's a pattern'?" She asked, stepping against the bar, "Hair of the Crup." She said to the bartender, if he'd even make what she'd want, but she looked back to Maximus, certain she knew who he was.

Dorcas had had quite a bit to drink and she knew that she wasn't exactly the best at judging situations when she'd had a few. Her tiny stature meant that booze tended to affect her a little harder than someone like Tersha, but her training and her gut were kicking in well enough to know that something wasn't right with this bloke, no matter how handsome he was. He had a bartender hovering behind him, fidgeting even. Normally a matter of wealth could account for someone having a bartender as their own personal server all night long, but this was the Ambrosia Lounge, a place owned by her uncle, a place where every staff knew her name and face, and it didn't matter how rich someone was, because now she was married to Rodolphus, she was the richest person in just about any room, something she usually hated, but tonight it came in handy, because if she couldn't get served, despite being a regular that dropped. a lot of money on the place, then how did he have someone at his beck and call? Dorcas felt she knew the answer. "How 'bout your name." She said, stepping closer to him, locking onto his gaze, looking for, well, anything.
