A girl should be two things classy and fabulous
Liv’s voice lowered as she caught sight of something behind Lyra, who turned promptly to confirm her suspicions. Lilith had arrived. She looked beyond stunning and while no one read Lilith quite like their brother Lucian, Lyra was sure she sensed an air of approval as the eldest sister looked around the room and took it all in. “The bride has arrived!” Lilith announced herself proudly and the room erupted into cheers and wolf whistles, Lyra among them. Linked together, Lyra and Liv scurried happily across the dance floor to meet their sister. Lyra bounced on the balls of her feet as she squeezed Lilith gently and gave an excited “hiiiiiii”.
Liv passed out champagne, ensuring Lilith was double-fisting it not two minutes into her attendance just as planned, and Lyra took a glass. “Yes!” she cheered to Liv’s toast. They clinked glasses and the younger girls drank much more in one helping than was probably appropriate but to hell with it all, their sister was getting married. “My sister’s getting married! Woo!” Lyra shouted as she turned to face the rest of the party, her voice projecting across the room with an excited squeal.
Grabbing Lilith’s wrist gently enough that she didn’t spill either of her drinks, Lyra dragged the witch further into the building where she was promptly surrounded by her adoring fans. As guests congratulated Lilith and complimented her on her dress, her hair, her future husband, Lyra dashed through the crowd and across the dance floor to where the performers were waiting. “Ready boys?” she asked as she opened the door and looked in on them. Six burly business men stood before her, each looking dumber than a box of rocks but so damned pretty, she was certain Lilith would enjoy the show. She smirked, raising her eyebrows a little and then scrunched up her face excitedly.
Lyra turned and popped up onto the stage where the band was playing, the music dying out as Lyra took the mic. “Lilith, my dearest sister,” she started, capturing the attention of the crowd and no doubt killing her sister a little, but it would all be worth it hopefully. “For twenty – something years you’ve been there for us, helping us with homework and snogging tips when we were younger. Giving us advice on our budding careers as you were excelling in your own. Basically being the most brilliant big sister a girl could ever have asked for. We are so excited for the journey you are on and there seemed no more appropriate way to send you off into wedded bliss than with a little show of appreciation.” The band struck up as soon as Lyra finished her sentence, a well-rehearsed little introduction. Colorful lights began to swirl and a mist rolled into the room from seemingly nowhere. Lights flickered and then went out momentarily and suddenly the dance floor was empty of people except for Lilith, the rest of the party goers having been ushered off to the side as the dancers appeared. “Wooo!” Lyra gave a loud wolf whistle as she stepped off the stage and moved to rejoin Liv as the strippers worked their magic, both literally and figuratively. Champagne still in hand, Lyra danced to the music as her sister became the center of attention once more.

Cutie was talking to her more now, speaking louder in attempt for her to hear him but the pulsing bass of the music kept Lyra from fully understanding what he was saying. He was delicious though so perhaps she could try a little harder to make out what he was trying to say. Something about honesty and the bayou. Perhaps he’d had a little too much to drink, between clobbering her feet and now talking nonsense. “What?” she said loudly, pointing to her ear to signal that she was having difficulty hearing him. “I can’t hear you.” She shook her head lightly, a pretty yet apologetic smile on her face as she tried to keep eye contact while still keeping rhythm with the music.
She could have been perfectly happy dancing the cares of her day away, letting the music take her and escaping for a bit, but talking with this lad could turn out to be just as fun and Lyra loved saying yes. Yes to new adventures, new people, new anything. Saying yes was a part of her performance training and it had served her well thus far in her career as well as her personal life. The worst that could happen was for this utterly attractive man to turn out to be a dullard and she would have to brush him off or call on one of the security guards to escort him out if he got a little pushy. She’d done it before and knew there was no harm in giving it a go – completely disregarding her stalker who wasn’t so easily deterred.

A girl should be two things classy and fabulous The people around her were gorgeous, though not as gorgeous as she, and Lyra was happy to press her body up against them as she swayed to the music. Closing her eyes and letting her head fall back against the shoulder of whatever handsome stranger currently had his hands on her hips, a relaxed smile spread across her face. Lyra was in her element; attractive people, loads of attention, music, lights, and a buoyant energy that infected everyone around her.
She had finished a drink already, and hadn’t bothered to yet order another. Lyra didn’t like to get too drunk in public without someone around that she trusted to watch out for her. There were people in the world who were utterly obsessed with her, despite what her older sister might say with a superior looking roll of her eyes, and Lyra was smart enough to not give them any added incentive to think they could take advantage of her. Two was her max when she was alone, and she tried to space them out enough to create and maintain a nice buzz without affecting her ability to apparate home safely. She knew from observation that others didn’t monitor themselves as closely as she did, and the large foot falling onto her designer heels only reinforced that notion.
The bloke who’d stepped on her foot turned and apologized, a wide grin covering his face. Lyra could hardly fault him, he looked like he was really enjoying himself and that drink in his hand. If he’d not acknowledged the mistake she might have gone off on him, or if she was in a different sort of mood, but she was in high spirits and so she smiled in return as she continued to move to the music. “It’s alright,” she replied loud enough for him to hear without contorting her facial features into a yell to be heard over the thumping beat.

A girl should be two things classy and fabulous
The bright lights blinded her to the faces of the cheering crowd as she took her final bow. The movements of their clapping hands and the noise it created was an unmistakable applause as Lyra beamed, her chin high as her back straightened as she came back up again. She felt a flutter in her chest, that indescribable sense of adoration from her fans. She loved it. She craved it. The actors around her stepped back and Lyra bowed once more, basking in the glorious applause, supported by hoots and whistles and someone in the back of the theatre shouting her name. They loved her. The women wanted to be her and the men wanted to be with her. Nothing on this great green earth could replace the feeling of a standing ovation at the final curtain.
“Thank you,” she said with a practiced smile on her face as she passed a stagehand in the wings on her way to her green room. They all adored her, even her fellow thespians. Lyra couldn’t walk ten feet without someone telling her what a magnificent job she’d done tonight. She didn’t need telling, it was obvious in and of itself but still the congratulations were welcomed right up until the moment she shut her dressing room door and the noise of the theatre died away.
Reds, pinks, and purples covered the vanity, obscuring her view of the mirror as she sat on the plush little stool to tend to her face. Plucking the card from the center of the bouquet, Lyra gave a haughty grin as she read over the card, knowing instantly whose name would be signed at the bottom. Only one person called her his ‘golden goddess’ and while she quite liked the sound of the epithet, she didn’t much care for the man who had coined the phrase. She had dealt with worse offenders than this one, but her parents worried and had hired someone to keep this stalker away from her; clearly the body guard wasn’t doing his job properly. Lyra rose and moved to the door which led to the rest of the backstage. Pulling it open, she popped her head out and caught the eye of the first person to pass by. “Pardon, have you seen Rhys about?” Lyra would be having a chat with her father about her absentee body guard. She rolled her eyes as her question was answered. “Well ask about for him. I’ve got this bloody psychopath on me again.” She raised her hand flippantly, the card from her stalker on display. All the more attention on her, with the rest of the cast worried for her. Shutting the door again, Lyra threw the card in the bin and sat back in front of her vanity, admiring the beautiful flowers in front of her. He might have been a creep and a pervert, but her stalker did know a thing or two about arrangements. He never failed to get her something beautiful.
Her hair was perfect; long blonde curls that bounced as her hand ran over them, brushing them behind her shoulder. The makeup was a bit a heavy, as theatre makeup tended to be, so she pulled open the top drawer of her vanity and drew her wand. A few elegant rotations of the wrist and Lyra was ready to be seen outside of the playhouse. She changed out of her costume and put on her own clothing; a red dress with a high neckline and peek-a-boo cutout to show off her considerable cleavage. Pulling her fur-lined cloak over her shoulders, she left the flowers in her dressing room as she headed out a side door into a well-lit alley way that would lead her to the high street.
It was early still, only half past eleven, and Lyra was in high spirits after such an amazing performance. A good show did wonders for her energy level and tonight she felt like dancing. Turning towards the pounding thump of a bass, Lyra headed in the direction of the Charmed Nightclub. She walked straight past the queue out front and smiled at the door man, who let her inside after a kiss on the cheek and a compliment on her looks. The music was pulsating, and the lights swirled in a colorful haze around her. Lyra was given a private booth as she always was, and she flung her cloak over the seat as she ordered a cocktail and told the booth attendant to keep an eye on her things. Only moments later, Lyra was on the dance floor, letting the music take her over.

A girl should be two things classy and fabulous
Slug & Jigger was not Lyra’s apothecary of choice. Most of the time, her shopping was done in nicer establishments where her wealth and status was not only recognized but also catered to, but Lyra wasn’t in the market for a new outfit or some spectacular new cushions to decorate her flat. She needed a potion and while she normally would just pop over to Lucian’s shop, Elixirium, in Whimsic Alley for any draught or tonic she might need, her request for this particular potion would only cause him to worry over his little sister, something Lyra wished to avoid. Not only did she not want to cause Loosh any undue stress while he played the dotting daddy to a brand new little boy, but she also didn’t find her current situation to be much of a real problem.
All she needed was a little Calming Draught to soothe her anxiety over the creepy knob who’d been sending her love letters to her flat. Usually fan mail was sent to her agent, sorted by the help, and only a few lucky select pieces would actually make it in front of Lyra’s emerald colored eyes, but her new stalker had managed to send the letters straight to her flat. How this man managed to find her personal address was anyone’s guess, but she had people working on the problem to keep the stalker at bay and stop any future nutters who might have a similar idea of how to express their undying love. In the meantime, she just needed something to ensure she wasn’t a fretting wreck during her performance this weekend. Friday night she was singing at the Ambrosia Lounge and she had two performances as Anwen in the musical Oh! Merlin at the Winchester on Sunday.
The bell over the door announced her arrival but it was hard to miss Lyra in her bright red outfit and stunning blonde pinned up to keep it tidy in the chilly January wind. She enjoyed standing out and, much to her older sister’s dismay, bright colors that drew the eye were part of a signature style for the songstress/actress. There was nothing in the proverbial socialite manual that said she couldn’t be sophisticated and bold at the same time. As the middle of five children, Lyra had always made a point of making herself seen, and she wasn’t going to stop simply because she was an adult living on her own with a flourishing entertainment career. She wasn’t the only patron of the little apoethcary but the shop wasn’t nearly as busy as she had seen Lucian’s store before. Perhaps this was just a slow time of day? She really didn’t have any concept of when the masses ran their errands. Frequenting more high-end establishments, Lyra often was provided a private show room or in the very least a personal shopping attendant. Slug and Jiggers wasn’t the sort of place to provide either, so she strolled along the aisles reading the labels along the shelves, looking for a hint as to which section she might find her desired elixir.

A girl should be two things classy and fabulous
On its face, the evening would seem a very classy affair. Liv and Lyra had worked hard to ensure the evening would be a success and still allow Lilith to get a little wild. Hopefully a lot wild. As Lyra fixed her lipstick in the toilet mirror, and adjusted her top, she felt rather pleased with herself. They had rented out the entire Ambrosia Lounge for the evening to avoid any riff raff stumbling in, not that that was a common occurrence for such an establishment, but everything tonight needed to go off without a hitch. Their big brother had been married earlier that same year and the hen party for his bride had been a rather fun one, but Lyra knew her older sister well and knew she would want to outdo their new sister-in-law at every turn. Clementine was a lovely witch and she seemed to get on well with Lucian. There was no reason but Lilith’s need to be the best to attempt to one up the woman, but here we were and Lyra hoped the evening would please her sister.
Giving her backside a check in the mirror and finding her appearance flawless, Lyra headed back out to give the place a final look around. Liv had the staff hang some amazing banners around the room, Lilith’s gorgeous face plastered just above them. Her younger sister was checking her handywork as Lyra passed through the lounge and headed just beyond the stage where the band was tuning their instruments to a door which led to some offices in the back. “How’re you lads holding up?” she asked, taking in the spectacular sight of six well-muscled men in various stages of dress. Lyra admired them for what they were worth, a good fling and 65 galleons a piece for a stunning show. There was no real need to check in on the strippers other than to gawk at them, but she made simple small talk with them and admired their bodies as they stretched and prepared for their performance. Lyra had claimed dominion over reserving the entertainment for the evening, booking an amazing band and this harem of men dressed in tailored suits to gyrate on her sister’s face. For all the prim and proper Lilith embodied, all bets were off once the girl was drunk. Drinks and food had been Liv’s responsibility and Lyra had the utmost confidence in their little sister with regard to making sure the lounge created several signature cocktails and shots to honor the oldest Burke girl.
The party appeared to be gearing up when Lyra returned, and she spotted Liv shimmying her way across the dancefloor, breasts on full display. “How many charms did you have to use to get those to stay in place tonight?” she asked, joining her little sister with a sway of her hips. Lyra spun around slowly, admiring their work on the whole and scanning to see if Lilith had arrived yet. No such luck. She spun again and looked at the busy blonde. “Think the boys will have anything this brilliant planned for our new brother?”

Lyra is the quintessential middle child, often feeling the need to be the center of attention because of a perceived lack of notice growing up. She has never wanted for anything in her life but there's always been something missing. She's had plenty of boyfriends and girlfriends, one night stands, and a few long-term relationships that never panned out. She's happy being a star in her career as a singer and actress but has rarely felt like the leading lady in her personal life. A significant other would do wonders for her, though she isn't actively looking for anyone in particular. MYSTERY MAN
WIZARD - 23-28 YEARS OLD - PUREBLOOD - CHRIS EVANS
This Mystery Man is fairly open, as far as name, personality, and history are concerned. He would be someone creative enough to find kindred spirit with Lyra but not fight for the spotlight with her. His profession might be something along the lines of a painter, writer, or musician. Something close enough that they could meet naturally and find common ground to bond over. The name, age, and family are open, but he should have enough money, either on his own or from his family, to fit into her world comfortably. Pureblood is a requirement, as is his delicious face claim; Chris Evans. PM if you have any questions. <3

A girl should be two things classy and fabulous
Lyra could have spent all day trying on dresses and drinking champagne with her sisters, listening to them squawk playfully at each other over dogs and dressing rooms. What else was she to do after having her rehearsal cut short by imbecilic staffers? It worked out marvelously well that her sisters had met up near the theatre, though it wasn’t too much of a coincidence knowing that the finer shoppes were in Whimsic Alley, if you wanted to avoid muggle fashion. Livvi probably would wear muggle clothes without a second thought, not because she was fond of muggles in any regard but simply because of her wild streak. She wasn’t rebellious, not like some pureblood wizards who disgraced their families, but simply wild. Adventurous. And a little audacious. On the other hand, if Lilith even so much as suspected muggles had been involved in designing any piece of clothing in her wardrobe, she’d have burned the whole thing to the ground. Lyra, as in most ways, was stuck in the middle of the sisterly spectrum that were the Burke girls.
Deciding not to purchase anything, Lyra joined her sisters at a few more shoppes where she found a pair of boots and a cloak she liked. She had it sent to her flat directly, so that she wouldn’t have to carry her purchases around in a bag just to get wrinkled. It was a lovely turn of events to have a shopping day with her sisters, but soon enough it was time to part ways. They were all grown witches now, with jobs and social lives of their own to keep up. In their younger days they would have just kept each other company until bed time, then retired to their own rooms and chat through their enchanted mirrors with each other until one of them inevitably fell asleep. Parting now was much more orchestrated and deliberate, and not nearly as fun as bewitching a pig nose on Lilith when she began to snore before Livvi and Lyra.
“We’ll need to plan a proper wedding planning date,” Lyra remarked, giving her older sister a kiss on the cheek. “Drinks and dresses and whatnot.” She smiled and turned to give her younger sister a farewell smooch as well. “Ring me when you want to get together, again. I’ll have Bernard move my schedule at the theatre around to fit whatever you’d like. Except show dates, of course. Ticket holders get so up in arms if you cancel a show for a dinner date,” she said playfully, clearly joking as she would perform unwell, getting sick in the wings before cancelling a performance if she could help it.

A girl should be two things classy and fabulous
There was absolutely no doubt in any of the women’s minds that Lilith wouldn’t be perfectly poised and prepared come her wedding day. Lyra half wondered if Lilith hadn’t already chosen her sisters’ gowns and was just taunting them by not letting them in on it, but that wasn’t Lilith’s style either. Liv might have done that, had it been her wedding. Then surprised them all with a decoy dress first that made Lyra whine and Lilith go silent before showing off the real bridesmaids’ gowns. Or bridesmatron, as Lilith would most certainly be by the time either of her sisters walked down the aisle. Lyra hated the word matron. It brought to mind feeble, wrinkled old women sitting in rocking chairs knitting and feeding her twelve cats. It was a wicked thing to call someone as lovely as her sister but that would be her title once she was married. Thank Merlin Lyra wasn’t getting married herself, or else the title would be lurking nearby for her as well.
Liv asked about bringing her dog to the wedding and Lilith, true to form, did not respond. Lyra, on the other hand, broke into a smile. “Meg would look lovely in a little lime green dress. You know, to match ours.”

A girl should be two things classy and fabulous
The clock was officially starting. Today her older brother Lucian would marry. Later this year, Lilith would be wed. The next in line would be Lyra and as of this moment there was no one she wanted to spend the rest of her days with, which made it ever more likely that she would find herself in an arranged marriage one day soon. Hopefully not too soon, she had so much she wanted to accomplish before she became a wife and mother. She wanted her figure to last for years to come. She had a marvelous body, it would be such a shame to stretch it all out just for a child. She couldn’t even imagine the terror Lilith would become as she started getting fat from pregnancy. That thought made Lyra giggle as she entered the church, gently pulling the front of her gown up so that she didn’t step on the delicate lace as she took the stairs, her date’s arm around waist.
William was a charming chap, a friend the theatre and her date for the evening. The pair weren’t formally dating but the tabloids had spotted them out together a time or two and reported that they were an item. No doubt the paparazzi would spy them here together make assumptions once more. Lyra didn’t mind. She enjoyed having her picture in the papers and her name on everyone’s tongue. It came with the role of starlet that she had taken on, and it suited her well. Today, however, was not about her. Today was about her handsome brother Lucian and his new wife Clementine. She didn’t know her new sister-in-law very well, but she seemed decent and Lucian appeared happy enough with the arrangement.
Lucian’s happiness was really all that mattered. He was the heir to their family’s wealth and would carry on the family name with whatever witch he took on as a wife, so the making of a smart match was relatively easy on his end, at least in Lyra’s mind it was. Clementine would be replaced with any number of well-to-do witches from pure lines and it would be of no difference to Lucian, but his happiness was the real thing at stake here. Sitting in the pew near the front of the church, Lyra could see the happiness on her brother’s face as he exchanged vows with his bride. The dull part was nearly over, and the reception was fast approaching.
She stood alongside her siblings and parents for a few photographs with the bride and groom but were dismissed shortly after as Clementine’s family were next for the photographs. Mummy and daddy would have to wait about for some pictures with the parents, but the siblings were free to take advantage of the lovely little party her brother’s wife had arranged for their guests. She danced with William, and Lucian and Lysander as well. The food was delicious and the company of her sisters was always a treat. All in all, as far as weddings were concerned, this was a gorgeous one.

A girl should be two things classy and fabulous
Thank the gods that Lyra knew her sister well enough to know when Lilith was having a laugh. You certainly couldn’t tell by looking at the oldest of the sisters. Her fair features were as stoic and collected as if she had just made a comment on the weather to a passerby, instead of making a joke with her dear sisters. Lilith had always been a bit more buttoned up than the rest of the Burke children, but she wasn’t a bore by any means. You just had to know her.
It made Lyra wonder, as she rolled her eyes at the idea of a lime bridesmaid gown, whether Rabastan had learned enough about Lilith to know when she was teasing him. Would Lilith tease him, or would she find that too juvenile with a fiancée? This was, obviously, the first fiancée Lilith had ever had, and Lyra had no way of knowing how she behaved in private with a man she’d been instructed to marry. Lyra couldn’t imagine Lilith making more obvious jokes, smiling broadly and laughing obviously just to ensure Rabastan knew she was taking the mickey of him. No, definitely not. Lilith was not that sort. She wouldn’t put on a show just to make her point known. That was more Lyra’s forte.
The perky blonde moved to pale gold-colored dress that hung on the rail beside the turquoise frock she’d been admiring. It was more subtle than what she would normally flock to but the fabric had a lovely sheen that caught the light when it moved, and that could most certainly work for the young starlet.
A shop attendant came out with a tray of champagne and asked if they needed any help. Lilith, true to form, didn’t respond straight away. Lyra was not so reserved. “Start a room,” she said to the woman, gesturing to the golden dress without making eye contact with the attendant. Lyra simply moved on to the next thing that caught her eye, and while she was having things put in the fitting room for her, she was in no hurry to actually make her way over to the curtained alcoves. She would much rather chat with her sisters and take her time. There wasn’t even any guarantee that Lyra would even try on anything the woman collected for her, but if she did choose to she wouldn’t want to wait.

A girl should be two things classy and fabulous
Literally stuck smack in the middle of her older and younger sisters, Livvia linked on her left arm, Lilith on her right, Lyra was always middle child in every sense of the word. She made up for it by always making herself center stage to counteract her siblings’ positions, both physically and chronologically. Their heels clicked sharply on the pavement as they headed down the street, Lyra’s head held high knowing she was the best dressed witch in Whimsic Alley. Her sisters came in at second and third, but nothing could outdo the bright pop of her pink collar from under her chic cream coat which matched perfectly with her high heeled boots and sleek designer handbag. Lyra was utter perfection and there was no need to humbly hide her knowledge of such a fact. She didn’t boast about herself in public, but she also refused to play the meek and mild. Her eyes met with everyone they passed that was worth making that tiny bit of connection with, even if it was simply to silently say that she knew they were jealous of her, and that it was only natural to be envious.
Lilith entered the shop first, with Lyra on her heels. A house elf appeared to take their coats and Lyra undid the buttons of her fashionable outerwear and dropped it on top of the tiny creature who mumbled “thank you, miss” from under a pile of fabric. Fifth Element was a bright shop, clear of the usual clutter one would find in a mainstream clothier. Crisp white walls surrounded the Burke sisters in a circular room, the center of which was a black iron staircase that curled upwards, leading to the shoes and other accessories. Mannequins dressed in designer frocks arranged around the room, changing poses every so often so that one could see how the clothing moved. Curtained areas hide changing rooms, which Lyra knew from experience extended farther than they appeared and held inside each one a sofa, a pedestal, and a round of mirrors.
Of course, before they could shimmy into the dressing rooms they would need to have a look about the shop. Lyra was a sucker for a pop of color and a marvelous teal piece was calling her from across the room. “Have you thought anymore on our dresses for the wedding?” Lyra asked, her head turning as she looked over her shoulder at Lilith who was due to marry the hunky Rabastan Lestrange. Lucian’s wedding was coming up, and Lyra already had her outfit picked out for that event. Clementine had not asked Lyra or her sisters to be in her wedding, despite marrying the oldest of the Burke siblings, but once Lyra got over the initial bruise to her ego she found she was really rather pleased at how it turned out. Not being in the wedding party, Lyra was able to wear pretty much whatever she wanted; she wasn’t confined to a certain color or style, or Merlin forbid a matching dress. She was, however, a bridesmaid in Lilith’s wedding and the picky witch had yet to make a decision on what her sisters would be wearing.

A girl should be two things classy and fabulous
Still wary of this man’s intentions but temporarily placated by his seemingly sincere apology and offer to buy her a drink, Lyra moved to the stool nearest the handsome blond. She placed her heel on the bar at the bottom of the chair and pushed herself up, sliding gracefully into the tall seat. She was closer to the man now, and she could better see his eyes; a sterling blue that made Lyra a little weak in the knees. The proximity, however, also meant that she could better smell him and he smelled as though he had rolled around the inside of a cask of whiskey.
Jerome was once more flagged down to their side of the bar and Lyra brushed her curls over the back of her shoulder with her left hand and a glint of something shiny caught her eye. A badge. He was in law enforcement though the badge was only visible for a moment and one that was simply too quick for Lyra to read what sort of law he enforced. For all she knew he was with the Department of Magical Food and Drug and only here because of a report of rodents or something gross yet completely boring. She didn’t think so, though, judging by his build. He had arms the size of tree trunks and Lyra suspected that wasn’t the only sizable item on his person, and her eyes quickly traveled below his waist before flashing back up to his baby blues.
Jerome interrupted her thoughts and she blinked as she turned to face the bartender and leaned forward to place her drink order. “Apple martini,” she said with a smile, loud enough for Jerome to hear her over the music and the crowd of people around them. The second Jerome confirmed that he had heard her, Lyra’s gaze was once again set upon the blond. “Do you have a name or are you trying to keep your identity a secret so I don’t go to your boss to file a complaint?” Her eyes flicked once again to where the badge had before been visible. “Officer,” she finished, a cheeky little grin appearing at the corners of her mouth.
