She was a little bit ruined a beautiful disaster but she was magic
As the door opened, Dora’s smile was whisked off her face with the force of Hunter pulling her into his home and pinning her against the door. She took a moment to catch her breath before her smile reappeared. “Euphadora.” Merlin, her name on his lips was like heaven. She melted every time he said it, and when he was angry with her like he seemed to be right now it reminded her even more of when her father used to scold her. His hand moved to her throat, and she smiled through the tightening pressure as he spoke to her. “Whatever you want, daddy,” she answered in her most seductive voice. The scrap of parchment was still in her hand, and she offered it to him, a crude visual of her many attempts to find him. Vague notes like “wonky streetlamp” and “Scotland?” had been crossed out and below them replaced with clearer details such as “Paisley” and “stone church”. His exact address still eluded her but it didn’t stop her from finding him. “I need you.” Her heart was racing inside her chest, though not for fear but of excitement. Her adrenaline was pumping strong, giving her a tingling sensation that started in her chest and spread throughout her extremities, it was like butterflies in her stomach though there was an emptiness there as well. A hole that only his bite would be able to fill.

She was a little bit ruined a beautiful disaster but she was magic
As she padded toward the pool, another even more familiar face caught her eye. Splayed on his back, long hair flowing out around his head in the water like a crown, was Ollie. She smiled brighter and continued toward the edge of the pool to call to him when suddenly she was met with a shock of cold water that made her gasp. Her front was soaked, and she stood there open mouthed for a moment, allowing her brain to work out what had just happened as a crashing sound could be heard from the house behind her. She was too stunned to bother turning toward the chaos inside. Brushing water from her eyes, Dora looked to Ollie in the pool and then saw the culprit that had dowsed her with an inconsiderate splash, prematurely ruining her poolside look. “You bloody twat,” she hollered at Ollie’s dumb girlfriend, still dripping onto the patio as her dazed expression turned angry.

She was a little bit ruined a beautiful disaster but she was magic
Ollie had Pansy sleeping soundly before Dora had even finished getting ready. She appreciated that he didn’t mind coming over early so she could focus on herself before heading out, and it gave Dora a little time to catch up with Ollie without his horrid girlfriend hanging on. Especially after what she'd been told had happened last week at Leo's barbeque. Dora didn't remember much from that day, but London and Liv had filled her in on the bits they were privy too. Ollie tried to talk to her about it as well, but she deflected the topic, knowing that it would only end in the friends bickering which is exactly what his twat of a girlfriend wanted. What a sweet bloke like Ollie Devereaux saw a pedestrian cow like Echo Everwhore was anyone’s guess, but tonight wasn’t a night for bothering herself with Ollie’s love life or his heinous trollop, she was going out with friends and Ollie knew not to expect her until very late in the night.
A few of the girls had suggested going to the Starlight, which felt like a jab at Dora who was only a few months out from having worked there every weekend night, but they ultimately decided to start their evening at Charmed. The evening started as most did, with the girls all dancing together but soon enough Dora found herself distracted by a member of the stronger type. She'd been making out with some muscular wizard on the dance floor who was wearing too much cologne and not allowing his hands to roam as freely as Dora would have liked. A hand on the bum was all well and good but she was giving no signals whatsoever that she was anything but up for it, and yet all they were doing was snogging. She needed more excitement and it was early enough in the evening that she had no qualms in ditching Cologne Prude for the chance at better options. Dora tried her chances at the bar, ordering two drinks at once so she wouldn’t need to wait for the bartender to come around again. Sipping on a piss-poor excuse for a dirty martini while holding her backup in the other hand, Dora scanned the sea of faces for anyone worth her time. She spotted her friends, still all dancing together, laughing and smiling without even noticing or caring she wasn’t among them. Bitches. She took a larger swallow of her drink and looked in the opposite direction. Locking eyes with a thin bloke standing at the door to the patio, smoking. Dora smiled and headed over. After a little banter and having finished her second drink, sixth overall tonight, Dora and Smokey were locking the stall door in the ladies loo, much to the cavil of the other patrons in the toilets.
It was the expectation of polite society that after several minutes on her knees, she would be returned the favor in some manner but Smokey was apparently not of polite society, and Dora once again found herself at the bar looking for someone to help her confidence shine. A tap on her shoulder seemed promising but when she turned around it was just one of her girlfriends letting her know they had decided to hit the Starlight after all and they understood if she didn’t want to join them. What a total bunch of cunts. Dora headed through the exit a few paces behind her friends, but as she stood on the street she realized where she actually wanted to go. Turning to head in the opposite direction as her friends giggled on their way to Fin’s nightclub, Dora opened her handbag and found the little scrap of parchment she’d tucked away in case of emergency.
She’d been having more frequent emergencies lately, but she knew Hunter enjoyed having her around. And she was completely smitten with the vampire as well, or at least with the way he made her feel. Apparating to his street, she looked for the church where he lived. It was baffling to her that she could never remember his exact address despite going there quite often, but she remembered enough details to make it work. Hunter even seemed surprised the first time she showed up unannounced, but Dora assumed it was simply because he’d not been expecting her. She tried the large door at the front of the church, but it was locked. She knocked impatiently and then moved to look through the stained glass windows. “Hunter? Are you home? Hunter? It’s Dora.” She moved back to the door and knocked again, her hunger for him growing with every second she waited.

The man introduced himself and Dora stared up at him with dreamily dazed eyes. Killian. The name sounded funny in her head, so she said it aloud and smiled. “Killian. Killy-an. Killin.” She laughed, at herself or his name it was unclear, but she fell into his chest as she did so. “Killy and Dora.” Still pressed comfortably close against the stranger, Dora slowly raised her head. “You’ve brilliant lips.” She raised her hand and pressed her finger to his lower lip. “This one’s my favorite.” A splash at the pool distracted her from his handsome smile and she slowly wandered towards the water and the sound of laughter.

She was a little bit ruined a beautiful disaster but she was magic
‘You’d hire the best lawyer for Jovi if she asked you,’ Dora thought bitterly but she had cooled down enough to know better than to voice her insecurities again. The last thing her hangover needed was another screaming match. Instead, she gave him a small smile, took another sip of champagne, then rested her head on her arm and closed her eyes. It was as much of an apology as she was willing to give her best friend.

He had gotten what he'd wanted from her, and she was smart enough not to pout as he bid her farewell. She was well aware what her role was and she had no qualms about playing the part, especially if it meant a good time and a new book. Oh, and someone taking Pansy off her hands for a few moments. Dora knew she wasn't good for much, but she was definitely a good time. Toby clearly thought so. She knew he'd be back whenever he got an itch he needed scratching and until then she'd keep herself busy and relatively out of trouble.

She was a little bit ruined a beautiful disaster but she was magic
Painted fingernails scratched absentmindedly at the invisible scars on her neck, drawing little red lines on her otherwise pale skin. Dora chewed her lip as she tapped her heel impatiently on the floor beneath her desk, waiting for nothing in particular except a need that would be hours from being fulfilled at least. There was filing to be sorted and memos to be copied and sent out but none of it was distraction enough from the urge within that said she should apparate to Hunter’s home and bang on the door until he gave her the sweet relief she desired. Dora was aware, at times, that he was growing weary of her and she had even considered finding another vampire to satisfy her needs but it wasn’t as if she could simply ask around for a referral. Her relationship with Hunter was taboo and not even something she had shared with Fin, which was practically killing her. Keeping secrets from her bestie was difficult but the way Hunter made her feel was unlike anything she had experienced in her still short life and she couldn’t risk exposing that and losing everything; her friends, her job, Pansy. The dull sensation on her neck turned sharp and as Dora pulled her hand away she saw a fleck of blood on the pad of her finger. She sucked the liquid from her finger, imagining what Hunter would think of her in the moment. So absorbed in her internal fantasy, it took several moments before she realized her name was being called.
Dora snapped from her thoughts, pulling her finger from her lips swiftly and brushing her long black hair in front of her shoulder to cover the scratches her nails had made over Hunter’s scars. She nodded as the older woman gave her instructions and shoved a duffel bag into her hands. Agent Meadowes, St Mungo’s, Creature Induced Injuries Ward. At least this would keep her occupied for a while. She had met Dorcas Meadowes a handful of times and she liked the witch. They could chat and maybe Dora would get a chance to chat up her wealthy husband Rodolphus Lestrange and get an invite to meet some of their single, wealthy friends. None of her plans came to fruition, however, when a man who was certainly not Mr Lestrange and definitely not a healer opened Agent Meadowes’ door and took the duffel bag with a polite thank you. We’re Agents Meadowes and Humbert having an affair?! Why was he here and not the witch’s husband? Oh, this would make for some good gossip back at the office!

She was a little bit ruined a beautiful disaster but she was magic
Dora was unaccustomed to having a house elf to order around, though she wouldn't have batted an eye at the opportunity to possess such a luxury. The last time she'd had anyone to clean up after her was when she'd lived at Hogwarts, and following her school years her flat was modest enough to keep tidy without much effort. She had pondered asking Fin for an elf for her birthday, Christmas, or just because she deserved one, but he had an aversion and she'd simply not got around to it yet. Toby, on the other hand, was so used to it that he'd summoned his elf to tend to his needs even when visiting friends. She supposed it was fitting; Dora would tend to his carnal needs (as was obligated by their unspoken arrangement) and the house elf would busy itself with the rest. Dora was happy to take advantage of Toby's wealth in more ways than one.
Lounging on the sofa, Dora turned the page of her new book. Green eyes scanning the words as the imagery played through her mind. Distant whining pulled her attention for a moment as she realized she'd not asked after Pansy since passing the babe off in a hurried daze, but the noise subsided after a few moments and Dora decided the child was probably fine. She went back to her book, tucking her hair behind her ear so as to not obstruct her view.

She was a little bit ruined a beautiful disaster but she was magic
The familiar face belonged to a brunette guy much taller than she, and Dora stared at him for a moment with a pretty smile and vacant eyes. A full two seconds passed before she realized he had greeted her and Dora blinked, speaking slowly. “I know you?” Her inflection suggested it was a question, but her head struggled to make it a statement. He looked oddly familiar, but she didn’t know why and couldn’t come up with a name. Most likely she had seen a picture of him in the Daily Prophet at some point, or maybe even a magazine though she did not often read magazines that discussed sports more than fashion. Leaning forward, Dora gave the man a hug that lasted a little too long. She was stroking the material of his shirt, which felt divine, and gave a happy little hum before pulling away. “Hi.”

She was a little bit ruined a beautiful disaster but she was magic
The sudden gush of wind and the sound of the door slamming behind her no longer made her jump. She had been desensitized to every signal that might have previously warned her of some sort of danger in this man’s presence. Instead, now, Dora felt excitement. Hunter teased that she was late, and Dora titled her head to one side, lengthening her neck for him as she approached. “I guess you ought to punish me, then.”

Mimi sniffed into the air, trying to get at the bottle that smelled all too familiar. This wouldn’t have been the pup’s first drink, though it had been a while since Dora had passed out with anything left in a bottle for Mimi to slurp up off the floor. Dora’s vice these days was not so portable as a bottle of champagne but gave her a far superior sense of carefreeness. Dora pulled the bottle closer to her and rested it on her hip, scratching the edge of the label with her thumb absentmindedly. “Well, that and you’d basically be paying for my lawyer so it’d be a conflict of interest or some rubbish like that.”

Ripping the wrapping off the gift, Dora turned the book over to look at the cover. The title ‘Wings of Darkness’ was overlayed on top of a picture of a woman running away from a dark house, the silhouette of a muscular man in the only lit window. Dora squealed excitedly. “I’ve heard good things about this one,” she mused aloud. She turned the book over again and looked at the back cover, then turned to the front page and began to read as she wandered out of the foyer and headed for the lounge. “There’s glasses in the kitchen” she called to Toby without lifting her nose from the book.

She was a little bit ruined a beautiful disaster but she was magic
There was never any trouble remembering exactly where she was meant to go whenever Hunter called her, but without his summons Dora struggled to remember where the vampire lived. There had been times when she felt the hunger for his bite but had no means of seeking him out. It was frustrating to say the least, but at this moment she only felt an eager excitement as she arrived outside of the little church the vampire ironically called home. The door was unlocked, as it always was when she was called to him, and Dora let herself in as she unbuttoned the collar of her top expectantly.

She was a little bit ruined a beautiful disaster but she was magic
She had checked the Ministry records before but had no luck. She could find nothing on where the vampire she knew only as Hunter lived. He had clearly given the Ministry officials a false name, if they had any record of him at all, but that would not dissuade her. Over her last several visits, despite somehow never remembering the intoxicating vampire’s address upon leaving, she had managed to retain a few key details that she hoped would help her narrow down his location. She just needed access to the records in the Magical Creatures Department. Again. This time, Dora was searching by location instead of by name, which might have been more difficult for any other witch, but Dora was quite versed in performing cataloging spells with a bloke between her thighs. A fair third of her flings in her Hogwarts days had been in the library, a place most would rarely expect to find her yet she felt very much at home among the books. The tall shelves stacked with reference materials had reminded her of visiting her father’s office when she was little, a welcomed memory that struck her in the public libraries or even a few bookshop to this day.
This time, however, Dora was not an innocent teen pressed up against a bookshelf trying to muffle herself so as not to get caught by the school librarian. She was on her back under a desk, purring into Mikhail’s ear as her wand hand carefully drew a file from the cabinets and floated it over onto the man’s desk above her. She whispered words of satisfaction as he came and she feigned a mutual arrival just to get on with things. She had more important matters at hand than fooling around with some low-level intern, but Mikhail was a means to an end that she’d already grown quite familiar with. “Can you hand me my shoes?” she asked, gesturing toward her heels that had “accidentally” been thrown across the room. Mikhail turned to search for her shoes and Dora quickly stuffed the entire file in the waistband of her skirt, pulling her top down over it so that he wouldn’t catch her. Instead of heading for the atrium as she normally would have from anywhere else in the massive building, Dora sneaked away into a storage cupboard and began searching the contents of the file until she had found what she was looking for.
Thomas Bellamy. That was definitely a false name, she thought with a little smirk. How clever must Hunter have thought himself when dealing with whatever idiot had completed this registration, giving such an obviously fake name to hide his true identity. An identity he so willingly shared with Dora. Her cheeks flushed with emotion at the thought, but her mouth was dry and muscles ached for him. She found the street name and departed as quickly as she could, but not before banishing the file back to its cabinet without a trace.
The street looked vaguely familiar but without a proper address Dora was left to wander up the pavement, studying anything that might jog her memory and lead her to him. She passed several row houses and then a park, but none of it seemed familiar. There was a little flower shop and more houses, then a church caught her eye. The stained glass seemed to dance in such a way that Dora couldn’t look away from it, and when her heart began to thud loudly in her chest, she knew she had found him. Despite her excitement, and her insistence that she just needed a little bite to get her through the rest of the day, Hunter seemed displeased with her. Dora was not as familiar with playing hard to get as most witches were, so she was shocked by his initial refusal and his rough treatment of her but eventually she got her way and by the time she arrived at Leo Zabini’s manor, Dora was feeling euphoric.
The door opened upon her arrival and she stepped inside, her memories of the man’s home from a year prior having clearly shrunk the place in her mind. She was lost within seconds, asking the pictures for directions, but followed the sounds of music and frivolity until the sun blinded her as she stepped out into the back garden. Shielding her eyes, Dora scanned the faces around the barbecue and then the pool, turning a smile toward the nearest familiar face.

Kit pulled her up off the desk and began ushering her out of his cubicle, practically lecturing her about not getting fired. “Alright, alright.” He was behaving in much the same manner as when she first met him. Well, the first time she’d been conscious, that is. Her knight in shining armor had saved her after getting struck with a chandelier during an attack, waking up as they arrived at hospital where Kit was all seriousness. It was impossibly attractive having someone take control of a situation like that. Him ordering her to get back to work gave her a surge of all those same feelings again, and Dora grinned to herself as Kit escorted her out of the auror department. He offered to bring her a coffee in an hour, something Dora wasn’t particularly fond of, but she appreciated the gesture and protective way he was acting with her. She stopped just passed the secretary’s desk and turned to look at him. “You’re the best, Kitten.” She gave him a long kiss on the lips before scampering off towards the lifts to return to her job in the atrium.
