Wild and bereft assassin is born Fin left the back room of the restaurant with a spring in his step. Tonight would be perfect, and he had taken great measures to make sure that it went off without a hitch. He was currently standing in the finest magical restaurant in the whole of London, the entire room completely empty of diners, lights strung up adding a beautiful glow to the room which was his for the entire of Valentine's evening. It hadn't been easy to secure the place on such a popular night, and the restaurant had been fully booked until earlier this afternoon when Fin had placed the owner under the Imperius Curse and made him cancel every single booking and send all but two of his staff home. The chef, of course, was a necessity, and he was in the back - also under the Imperius Curse - making sure his kitchen was spotless for when Fin's date arrived. Their waitress was standing by the front door, stiff as a board, eyes wide and almost hollow as she waited for signs of Jovi arriving, under strict instructions to not move a muscle - including blinking - until Fin said so. He passed her on his way to the bathroom and stopped right in front of her. "Joy," he said, glancing at her name tag to remind himself of her name as he smoothed his coat down. "How do I look?" He met her gaze with a frown. She said nothing. "So rude. You need to work on your customer care skills." He shook his head as he crossed the restaurant to the men's room and checked himself out. A few spots of blood were still on his hands and sleeves, and he scrubbed them at the sink, using his wand to get rid of any marks on his clothing and fixing his hair in the mirror. He didn't have to pin the manager to the wall in the back room with daggers through his hands, but it had been fun, and depending on how well this date went he thought Jovi might like a few theatrics to spice up the date. She could kill him after dinner if she fancied. The man was done for anyway, as were the chef and waitress and as far as the outside world was concerned, the restaurant was closed for the evening. He'd planned it out quite thoroughly for a last minute thing, and now he just had to try not to kill the chef out of boredom before Jovi arrived. He'd sent a carriage for her, a dozen crimson roses inside, and he actually felt slightly nervous. Nerves were not a Fin thing and it felt strange that he was fussing so much. Dora had told him that it was cute, that it meant he really liked Jovi, and he had to agree. He liked her more than he had ever thought he would, especially since she had become a Death Eater and he'd discovered that she was just his brand of crazy. _______________________ tag: Jovian Isobel Corrine Rowle words: 530 outfit: Ever the gentlemannotes: <3 template by izzy [googlefont="Allura"][googlefont="Cinzel Decorative"]

Jovi had no idea what was going on with her relationship with Fin. What was happening? It wasn't a relationship, not really because they'd not even had a date yet but there was something there, there was most definitely something between them that was worth exploring, even if it was just a little fun for a short while. Jovi had been in plenty of relationships, she'd fooled around with some and just lead others on. She wasn't a fan of just one night stands unless she was getting over a break up. She was much more comfortable in a relationship and because she was cute, there was always a guy willing to impress her. Tonight it was Finley Avery. He certainly had his issues but none that Jovi found particularly off putting at the moment. It was true that she didn't yet know of many of his issues, but the ones she was aware of she had no trouble with. He was a little full of himself, a little vain, smart-arse, smug, and arrogant, but that wasn't anything she wasn't already used to. All of her ex's had some, if not all of those traits so she knew how to handle a guy like that. Unlike most of her ex's, Fin actually seemed more intelligent. Jovi had never bothered with the smarter guys because they seemed more like the sorts for settling down with and she'd not been ready to settle down. She still wasn't ready, but she was ready to move on from the teenage boys she'd been spending her time on, in favour of a real man.
The carriage that picked her up arrived on time, she however did not. Not lady was ever ready on time and so she kept the carriage waiting. She was fully dressed, hair and make up ready, but she obsessed over every little detail of her appearance in order to pass the time. After twenty minutes and a final play of her hair, Jovi left her family manor and made her way to the coach. She climbed inside to find roses waiting for her. She sighed. She'd rather hoped for something more from Fin but she supposed he was a man, she couldn't expect him to be too creative. She'd see how the night went. If it was more cliches then there probably wouldn't be a second date. She thought Fin was smarter than other men but so far she was thoroughly underwhelmed. The night was not off to a great start and she certainly hoped it would improve.
The carriage pulled away and Jovi spent her time of the journey inspecting the roses. They were beautiful, absolutely flawless. She looked over every petal that she could, looking for blemishes, wilted petals, broken leaves, anything but there was nothing to fault, even the colour was divine but such a given. She'd expect this kind of thing from any random guy. She supposed there was nothing special between herself a Fin right now, they had no proper history beside one snog and a few talks at her cousin's wedding and Christmas Eve party. Perhaps she was expecting too much of him, giving him too much credit.
The carriage arrived at her destination where she hoped Fin would be waiting with more than just the roses he'd left for her in the carriage. The door opened wide and Jovi was helped out of the carriage and she looked up at the restaurant sign. Prestigious. Nice. Very good. Though a single glance inside showed that it was completely empty. Jovi was perhaps a little impressed, assuming that Fin had paid a lot to have the place to himself. The flowers were weak but the amount of money it would have taken to clear the place completely, just for the two of them, was certainly impressive. If there was one thing Jovi liked, it was having money spent on her. The individual that had assisted her from the carriage held the door to the restaurant open for her, a little ringing of a bell sounded out her arrival. She stepped inside and her jacket was taken for her while her eyes looked around the room, thinking it looked rather pretty. She found the lighting soft and inviting and there was a table set up just for the two of them but it was going to take more than that to impress her on a first date.

Wild and bereft assassin is born It was slightly later than expected, but Jovi eventually arrived, and the woman on the door jumped to life, taking Jovi's jacket and hanging it up with a rather robotic aura about her. As long as she did her job without flaw, Fin didn't care if she cramped up from being so stiff. His eyes were on Jovi, who looked lovely, her hair long and free. Fin's first thought was highly inappropriate for a first date with a lady, but he found himself smiling anyway as his imagination got a bit carried away with him. "M'lady," he said, dropping into a fancy bow and tilting his head up to look at her through lashes that were thick and dark and just to die for. He gave her a dashing smile and straightened up, feeling playful tonight, and really just in a fantastic mood. He wasn't sure whether it was because he'd finally asked Jovi out, or because he had the manager of the finest restaurant in the city strung to a wall in a back room. Probably a combination of both, really. "Let me give you a little tour," he wiggled his eyebrows and held his arm out for Jovi to take. He snapped his fingers at the waitress. "Joy, let the chef know we're on our way and it had better be spotless back there if he wants to live long enough to cook for us tonight." Joy scurried off, and Fin turned to Jovi as he escorted her around the room. "That's Joy, she's our waitress, she's a good girl." he said, coming up to the table set up for them in the middle of the room. "We can sit over here with the twinkly lights if you like, orrr..." he kicked his foot into a door on the back wall which swung open to reveal a small staircase. "There's a rooftop area we can sit at. It's going to snow tonight, but I'm happy to eat in it if you are." It would probably be romantic, they could put up a few barrier spells to keep the snow from falling in their immediate vicinity, and a couple of warming charms. He turned and led Jovi across the room towards the kitchen, pushing the door back and calling out in a sing-song voice. "Oh, Kevinnnnn!" he sang. "Time's up." Kevin was stood in the middle of the room, a towel in his hands, which were shaking uncontrollably. "You gotta calm yourself down, Kev, you'll burn the place to the ground." He ran his finger over the counter top and inspected it as he spoke. It seemed clean enough, and he tipped his head to Jovi. "Kevin here is going to make us anything we want," he told her happily. "Kevin, I want steak, the biggest steak you have, and I want that special gravy that you have on the menu, the one that it says, and I quote 'takes the blood, sweat and tears of three of our finest chefs to make'." He nodded. "That one. And baby potatoes, and onions." That sounded good. Kevin nodded his head so hard it looked like his neck might snap, but Fin paid him no mind and encouraged Jovi to order. "What'll it be, beautiful?" he asked. _______________________ tag: Jovian Isobel Corrine Rowle words: 574 outfit: Ever the gentlemannotes: <3 template by izzy [googlefont="Allura"][googlefont="Cinzel Decorative"]

Jovi was being cautious and it was very much a conscious decision on her part. She tried telling herself that she just wanted to make sure that Fin was worthy of her time but it was so much more than that. Fin was Dora's best friend, they'd been best friends for as long as Jovi could remember and she didn't want to come between that. Jovi hadn't always been close to Dora but she'd been close with Theon, Dora's younger brother. Theon had been one of her closest friends but once he'd died Jovi found she and Dora actually got on pretty damn well together. It wasn't that Theon had been keeping her from interacting with Dora, it was just Theon was closer to Jovi in age and so they'd had extra time with one another. Like when Dora had gone off to Hogwarts before the two of them and then they had extra time with one another again when Dora had graduated, and so while Jovi had loved Theon very much, she'd never really properly known Dora until his death. Had Theon still been alive then Jovi felt she would gone for Fin very fast after graduating without even really considering his relationship with Dora, but now she was closer to Dora, she owed it to her cousin to make sure that Fin was a guy that was actually worth getting involved with so that she didn't create any tension between Fin and Dora, although she felt it more likely that she might create more tension between herself and Dora if anything.
Fin was hot, wickedly smart and extremely funny. He was borderline arrogant which she very much enjoyed and he knew it, all of it. He was a gentleman and Jovi felt that she owed it to herself to preserve her friendship with her cousin more so than she had to date a hot and smart guy, which was really a testament to how much she'd matured over her final years of Hogwarts. Jovi had told herself that she was going to take it slowly with Fin because really she knew she'd be willing to rush into something with how so damned attractive and charismatic he was, not to mention his bank account was something to turn her nose up at either, not that she was doing this for his gold, it was just a little perk if she did decide to date Fin.
The greeting Fin gave her was extravagant and playful. She was intrigued and amused. She smiled, taking his arm and noting that the waitresses eyes looked exceedingly red, almost as though she'd been crying but not quite. Jovi wondered what all that was about but she was letting Fin take the lead. So far all she saw was an empty restaurant that she presumed Fin had paid for. That was rather sweet, she supposed. She rather enjoyed the way he threatened the the chef via the waitress, that was a nice little touch. Jovi was well aware that Fin was a Death Eater, just as she was, but how much he enjoyed the threatening, torturing and all round fun parts of being a Death Fin Eater, Jovi was yet to witness. This far he was kind of impressive really. She hoped that if things were even slightly out of shape back in the kitchens that Fin would follow through on his threat, although if he killed the chef before he could make their meals then she hoped he had a back-up chef at the ready. Fin showed her the table they'd be dining at, or he gave her the option of a rooftop meal in the snow. Very romantic. She supposed it was Valentine's day and it would certainly make it a first date to remember. Just threatening the Chef kind of made it a better first date than most of her first dates, so she had high hopes for this evening. "You've gone to quite the effort, Mr Avery."
Fin lead her to the kitchens where she got to meet the trembling chef. Whatever Fin had done, he'd managed to strike absolute fear into the hearts of the staff at this restaurant and Jovi found herself somewhat admiring him for that. This was shaping up to be a perfect first date and it had only just started. Jovi kind of regretted making him wait that extra twenty minutes for her arrival. Next time she'd only make it fifteen. Okay, based on his order she was going to make it ten. Her eyes shifting from Fin to the chef. Then it was her turn to order. "Snidget." She said, curt and to the point, "Chef's choice of vegetables, but keep them seasonal and fresh." Snidget would be near impossible to find and certainly not legal. Not many chefs knew how to cook or even prepare the tiny, impossibly fast bird but Jovi was looking forward to having a chef rush around on the busiest night of the year, looking for an impossible meal in order to save his life, because if she was disappointed, she would certainly kill him, although she’d give Fin the chance to prove if he was a gentleman or not first, see if he’d kill the chef for being a disappointment. "What do we have in the way of wines?" She asked, looking to Fin, wondering if there was a cellar she could roam or if he'd have thoughts himself on what might pair well with her desired delicacy.

Wild and bereft assassin is born Was she impressed? She seemed impressed, though it was hard to tell with Jovi. She liked to tease and play games as much as Fin did, which was fun, but it made it nearly impossible to know if she was being sarcastic, or awkward, or completely genuine. Regardless of how Jovi felt, Fin was impressed when she ordered Snidget for dinner, and he would have let out a loud laugh had he not thought it might be a bit obnoxious. Instead he settled for grinning like a Cheshire cat. "Oooh, good choice," he said appreciatively, knowing how near impossible it would be for the chef to single-handedly prepare Snidget for her, as well as getting Fin's own order ready at the same time. This was just proving to be quite the entertaining evening, and it had only just begun. He was happy to see Jovi eager to join in on the fun, and when she asked about wine, he clapped his hands together, Joy under orders to jump whenever he or Jovi clapped. She practically leapt three feet off the floor as she ran to his side. Fin ignored her for the moment, leaving her hanging and enjoying the rapt yet tortured expression on her face as he addressed the shaking chef. "Kevin," he patted the man on the shoulder, expression half pity, half ridiculously excited to see the outcome of the evening. "Good luck. You have half an hour." Kevin said nothing, but ran from sight towards a huge pantry. Fin was pretty sure he'd seen the man's bottom lip trembling, but he wouldn't be able to cry. It was delightful. He turned back to Jovi with a smile. "Wanna take a tour through a creepy wine cellar?" he asked, shooing Joy ahead of them as the woman immediately understood her role. She led them through the kitchens and down a set of wide stairs that led into the cellar, her back stiff the entire time, as though she quite literally had a pole shoved as far up her arse as it could go. "Joy, you're so tense," he commented, "crack a smile, it won't kill you." He bit his lip as he enjoyed his own pun. Fin glanced at Jovi with a wicked look as he lifted one finger and slid it along his neck with a wink. Joy would be so dead by the end of the night. Oh, well. _______________________ tag: Jovian Isobel Corrine Rowle words: 431 outfit: Ever the gentlemannotes: <3 template by izzy [googlefont="Allura"][googlefont="Cinzel Decorative"]

This was shaping up to be the best date she'd ever been on. There were a lot of cute pureblooded guys and she'd dated a few of them but none had been as thoughtful of what to do for a first date than this. Was it too intense? Not really. If anything it was rather thrilling watching a man sweat for his life, a smirk settled smugly across Jovi's lips as she watched the Chef hurry for dear sweet life. The time limit Fin had imposed was impossible and it got Jovi hopeful that they'd be splattering the Chef's blood all over the kitchen and dining space, plastering the walls with his entrails. It would make for her most perfect Valentine's day to date. Fin was going to have a hard time out doing himself next year - if he lasted that long. Jovi wasn't used to keeping boyfriends around. They were rarely this interesting though, so who knew how Fin would go. Maybe he'd set a record of longest boyfriend, or perhaps he'd fail tonight and she'd have nothing more to do with him other than allowing him to stare wistfully after her, breathing in her perfume at gala's and such. She allowed all her ex's that much.
Fin offered her a tour through the wine cellar and Jovi was certainly up for that. "Definitely." She followed the waitress that was leading the way. Fin mocked he demeanour. She was probably well aware that she wouldn't be surviving the night but that was okay, it didn't lessen the fun in the slightest for Jovian. "Are you going to tell me how you got a top London restaurant to ourselves for the evening, on the busiest night of the year?" It was quite impressive. Very impressive actually. She very much doubted that Fin would let her know because it was all part of the fun to not know, but all the possibilities were killing her and she had to know. She wondered if there were a bunch of dead bodies at the back of the wine cellar or all the previous patrons of the evening. A little magic and the place would have been cleaned up and cleared in no time at all, and she had been fashionably late for the evening so there was no telling what he'd been up to while she'd been letting him await her ever iridescent presence.

Wild and bereft assassin is born Jovi jumped straight to the juiciest point of the date, and Fin grinned at her eagerness, though he shook his head at her. "You can't spoil the best bit before we've even begun," he said, running his finger along row upon row of wine bottles. Occasionally he would pull one out and read the label, before sliding it back into place and moving on. He didn't know what Jovi liked, but she could choose whatever she wanted, he would be happy with whatever she chose, he had never been too fussy when it came to alcohol. He could easily blame that on running a nightclub and having to be open to all of the spirits that he sold to patrons, but honestly, he had always been like that, and he would drink beer out of a shoe - a clean shoe - if it was all that was on the menu for the night. He couldn't really afford to drink anything stronger than wine tonight, seeing as he needed to be able to cover their tracks at the end of the evening, so he was happy for Jovi to take the lead. He would be remembering every single second of tonight. He spared a glance for Joy, who had stationed herself by a large barrel in the corner, looking like she wanted to shrink behind it. Fin smirked to himself and pulled another bottle from the shelf beside him. "Joy. Catch." He threw the bottle through the air without any more warning, and bit his lip, grinning as he watched her try and fail to catch the bottle, which smashed all over the floor at her feet. Fin shook his head disapprovingly at her as she scrambled to find a brush to sweep the mess up. At least she didn't have nothing to do anymore, he couldn't have her being bored. He went back to answering Jovi's question smoothly, as if his little game hadn't interrupted them at all. "Let's just say I managed to pin the manager down, and he just couldn't refuse," he said cleverly. The manager was indeed pinned down, and it was absolutely impossible for him to refuse Fin anything in his current state. There was a sparkle in his eyes as he spoke, wondering what Jovi would think of the reality of his words later on. _______________________ tag: Jovian Isobel Corrine Rowle words: 417 outfit: Ever the gentlemannotes: <3 template by izzy [googlefont="Allura"][googlefont="Cinzel Decorative"]

Jovi was having fun trying to figure out just how exactly Fin had gotten the restaurant to themselves. It would have cost an absolute fortune to pay for the location and Jovi quite liked the idea of Fin spending a complete fortune on her on their first date. It was something Jovi was raised to think - the more a guy spends on you, the more he likes you. It was something she could get behind and something she'd only ever encourage. She had a flat in London that her parents had given her after she'd graduated and she could have any money she wanted from her parents, and she took them for everything despite having a job of her own. The money she earned from her job at the Ministry went to her own account at Gringotts and was untouched. She had no need for it but it was good to have a small pile of gold starting to build through her own semi-hard work. It was somewhat satisfying knowing she could get rich through working. Why weren't all poor people rich? All they had to do was save, for Merlin's sake.
Jovi took a few steps away from Fin, looking at the wines on offer in the restaurant. It was a good selection. She'd seen better in her aunt Ceres' wine fridge, but this would do. Fin was busy tormenting the waitress while Jovi pulled out a bottle and looked at the label before putting it back. Not expensive enough. She did that with a few bottles, smirking as Fin gave a little hint as to how he'd come to have the restaurant tonight, his eyes positively gleaming in delight. Jovi was completely convinced that he was hinting to something more, perhaps something literal and she bit her bottom lip a little, in excitement. "Joy," She said, shifting her gaze from Fin to the scurrying waitress. "Find me a Chardonnay to sample. Something with some citrus-y undertones." She clicked her fingers at the woman, expecting her to dash right away but she seemed to fumble a little, trying to figure out how to meet Jovi's demands whilst simultaneously cleaning the mess Fin had created for her. Merlin she was having a wonderful time this evening. Fin really knew how to make an impressionable first date and she had a firm feeling that this was only the beginning of what was sure to be an incredibly memorable night.
