Order of the phoenix application
Connection to the Order: Tristan began working at Hogwarts last September (1978) and was therefore in Dumbledore's direct line of sight for scrutiny over whether he would make a good asset to the organization. He is also good friends with a few of the Order members, Geralina Drake and Dorcas Meadowes (and formerly Paris James). Dumbledore himself asked Tristan into his office for a chat in November, and revealed to him that he considered Tristan to be quite an impressive young man, and somebody he would very much like to have join his team of renegades fighting this war. Tristan was quite surprised, but extremely flattered. They spent an hour chatting about the ins and out of this organization, and upon learning that he had friends who were members, one of them being Paris, he didn't hesitate to sign up right there and then.
Useful Skills: Intelligent - Tristan is smart and has always strived to be the best, having a mind like his on board would surely only be a help to the Order. He's a quick thinker, and a fast learner, and pretty nifty with his wand.
He has the element of being relatively unknown in England of late. For most of his twenties he lived abroad, and so associated with foreigners more than Brits, therefore would not be a familiar face for anyone to pick out as possibly being actively involved in this war on the country. He most certainly wouldn't be on anyone's radar as one to watch.
Useful Affiliations: He works at the castle, and is therefore able to take an active role in keeping a close eye on the students and looking out for any grooming of youngsters by You Know Who and his followers.
Why join the Order of the Phoenix? Tristan is muggleborn, first and foremost. He has four siblings, all who would be prime targets for Death Eaters, and he does not want to see them dead. He would do anything in hos power to keep them safe, and if that means putting his own life on the line, then so be it. He is nothing if not dedicated to his family, especially after the loss of their mother a few years ago. His drive to keep his brothers and sisters out of harms was is strong, along with a feeling of not wanting to be a victim himself. He doesn't want to sit back and be seen as weak, as a target, as someone who should be running and going into hiding. No, he will fight back, he will not be a victim. Aside from that, one of Tristan's oldest and dearest friends from Hogwarts was the target of a Death Eater attack last May, Paris James was ruthlessly murdered in the street, and Tristan feels like taking her spot in the Order is a small way for him to honour her, and possibly one day avenge her. Though he is not a fighter, his ability to love has pushed him down this path, and he loves fiercely.
