PERSONALITY Boggart: Losing one of her sisters Mirror of Erised: Collecting the award (and a lot of prize money) as World's Greatest Potioneer. She wants recognition for her hard and unique work. Patronus: Do you know what it is to be loved? To be truly loved and to never doubt it? Because Elissa does and she carries that feeling with her everywhere she goes. It's a powerful feeling and she draws on it to produce her patronus - An African bush elephant. Self-centred, obsessive, bitch. Just a few words that have been used to describe Elissa Fawley by those that don't really know her. Those that know her would call her self-sacrificing, dedicated and a bitch, but in a complementary way, of course! There isn't anything she wouldn't do for her family and closest friends but she won't let just anybody into her inner circle. Her trust has to be earnt one way or another. Elissa is a big believer in second chances, but believe me when I say one second chance is all you're getting. Let her down a second time (unless you're family) then she'll drop you. Whether she's known you for five minutes or five years, it doesn't matter, you're history to Liss. However, if you are close to Liss, and I'm talking really close, she'll let you in on all her secrets, but that's only if you're bascially family to her, which trust me, you're probably not. Dating wise Liss's history is a tad on the sketchy side. She has a habit of picking out the worst guy in the room and being in a six month relationship with them before she boots their arse to the curb. She's not one to let anybody - especially some guy - walk into her life and just try bossing her around, but those are the kinds of guys that make things interesting. Boring, straight laced, by the book types do nothing for her. Well okay, they do a little something if they're hot enough, but they're only worth a romp in the sack and then it's back to trying to make a relationship work with the toxic dickheads she usually ends up with. That's led to a few guys here and there calling her 'psycho' and what not. She's not strictly heterosexual, she considers herself extremely open minded but she does favour a nice big ... oh yeah! We were supposed to be talking about enemies here. Well One night stands with various people have never lead to enemies, but her relationships? Well they've all been guys and probably every single one of them hates her guts. There are probably more people in the world that hate her, but she doesn't really care. Fuck 'em, as she would say! Lissy. Lissa. El. Ellie. Els. All nicknames are acceptable to Liss. She doesn't care what you use so long as she knows you're talking to her! She's always been easy going, even as a kid. She was a little sister to Frey and then a big sister to Nelle. Being a sister was about one of the easiest things in the world for Liss. She was always more than happy to share her toys and her knowledge with her sister. Want Baby Polly who she'd just pretended to put to sleep? Sure! Want to know how to sneak into the kitchen to raid the cookie jar? Sure! Well perhaps she wasn't always sharing knowledgeable things like how to read or write, but stealing cookies was important sisterly bonding, and that counts for a lot in Liss's books! Being close to her sisters has always been important to Liss. She can't explain it but it's as though she's always drawn her strength from their bond. She's stronger with them in her life and she always has been. She knows she can do anything with her sisters by her side, and even if they're not, she's still able to kick arse because her sisters will have her back, no matter what the outcome. It's truly a strengthening thing to be able to trust and love so openly. And I do mean openly! Liss has no secrets from her sisters or her closest friends. To the outside world she might seem like a stone cold bitch at times, but to her sisters and her best friends, they know every little detail of her life! She has complete trust in them. When Freya went off to Hogwarts everyone in the family worried for Liss. She was so close to her big sister and now she was going to be gone for nine months of the year!? Well to everyone's surprise Liss handled it well. She wrote short letters to Freya while she was away at school and she and Nelle would send her drawings. It was easy being apart because Liss knew they'd be together again for Christmas and then again in the summer holidays. Eventually it was Liss's turn to go to Hogwarts. She was sorted immediately into Hufflepuff and she let out a cheer as the hat was removed from her head. She was so very excited for life at Hogwarts to begin, although she did miss Nelle and her parents more than she had expected, it was great to have Freya at the school with her, helping her get through the initial onset of homesickness. It helped that Liss learnt that she had quite the talent for potions. She had a natural instinct for the craft and she started spending more and more time in the dungeons, practising her potion making skills. She loved it more than any other subject. It was a breeze and something she was always top of the class in. Liss got through her OWLs and NEWTs with pretty decent grades, but her love of potions really stood out. It helped that she was pretty good at complimentary subjects like Herbology and Charms, too. She got a job straight out of Hogwarts as a potioneer at Slugs and Jiggers in Diagon Alley and she's been there ever since. She loves her job, she loves the pay and she especially loves a challenge ... at work. And possibly in her love life. Life was pretty good for Liss. This whole war thing was something she never really paid much attention to. She didn't really get involved in politics. Sure, she'd go vote, make her voice heard in that way, but beyond that, what more could she do? It wasn't until one of her best friends was murdered by the death eaters that Liss realised that this "Voldemort" (what kind of a stupid sodding name is that anyway!?) didn't care about pureblood lives being lost, he only cared about power and control. River and her husband Bert were gone. Darling little Ariel was left in the world without her parents and her uncle was off galavanting around the sodding world somewhere, out of touch. Liss wasn't sure how many owls she'd tried to send to Jules, but they weren't ever answered. He made his way back eventually and Liss has come to forgive him for being out of touch with River for so long, but mainly because 1. that was what River would have wanted, and 2. Because he got a job with her at the store where she was a potioneer. It wouldn't have made for an all too great work environment if she was a cow to him all the time, and besides, he was settling down, trying to get his life on track and Liss was going to support that for River and Ariel's sakes.
