PERSONALITY Boggart: His sister coming back from the dead and telling everyone that he killed her. While Mirror of Erised: Himself on a private yacht with a lot of scantily clad women, gold, cigars, just everything Patronus: Not exactly happy, but it sparks a great deal of pride - the moment he killed his sister. He protected the family name. He did the right thing, plus he got away with murder and he found it was such a rush. Once upon a time, Dex was an easy going kind of guy. He was popular, fun and always up for a pint and a laugh. No one really knows what made Dex change but over the course of his career he's gradually gotten more and more serious. Many people blame the job, having gone from being an Auror seeing many things a person shouldn't, to head of a large department, it can't have been easy. And then there are the whisperings of his twin brother. The rumours of him being a werewolf and having killed their sister. There is a lot of mystery surrounding Dex and his brother Darius, but believe it or not, Dex doesn't let it get to him. He's serious all the time because he learnt the friends he'd had since school were muggle-loving morons and since getting shot of them one by one, he's not had many people to spend time with. Add to that that his brother actually is a werewolf goody-goody and you have what makes Dex, Dex! Oh, and his sister wasn't killed by his werewolf brother, she was killed by Dex. She wanted to run away with a muggleborn and Dex warned her that he'd see her dead before he allowed her to elope with a muggleborn. That's just the kind of brother that he is. So yeah, Dex hasn't exactly got his head on right, but who even cares? He's hot and he knows it! He can have any woman, any time. His wife stays home with the kids - as she should - while he earns the money that keeps a lavish roof over their heads. He's sharp and to the point, he doesn't put up with anyone's shit unless they're above him. There are plenty of people that dislike him because, frankly, it's easy to hate a twat. He was a placid and easy going baby, his parents having more trouble with their older child - older by twenty-seven minutes that was. Darius Sharpe was always the heir and Dexter the spare, but that didn't stop Dex from always working hard in life. He wasn't going to throw away such a fine education and he did all that he could to focus on being successful and outshining his brother. Dex loved his brother but there was a competitive edge there. When he was six, his parents had another child - a daughter. They called her Delaney and Dex never had much to do with her. She was raised one way, the boys another. It was just how it happened in their society. At age 11, Dex was off to Hogwarts. He was sorted into Slytherin and he found the dorms and common room cold and void of emotion. It was horrible. He hated every second he had to spend there so he found himself a regular spot to visit on the grounds in the clear weather, and the library in the wet weather. During his time at Hogwarts he strived to do his best, joining clubs and becoming Prefect and then Head Boy. He did his parents proud. Upon graduating Dex headed straight into the Ministry with his top grades. He joined the Auror program and for years worked as an Auror. At the age of 27 he married Davina. It was arranged and Dex had no feelings for is wife at all. They have three children together but Dex is determined to have another heir, and who could blame him after what had happened to his family. What happened, you might ask? Well one night his brother stupidly got bitten by a werewolf. The family naturally disowned him and everything that was to be Darius's became Dexter's. He was smug and proud and it was at a good time too, for his sister, Delaney, was plotting to run away with a muggleborn. Not while he was in charge. He found his sister and slit her throat. He was maddened beyond reason so he did what he had to in order to protect the family name. He never told a soul, knowing that his parents would never forgive him for killing their sweet princess, but Dexter would not have the Sharpe name tarnished, not while he was set to inherit the family wealth. A year later, when he was 32, the position as Head of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes opened up. He had never worked in that department, but having been an Auror he'd had to deal and manage his fair share of incidences. He applied for the job and got it. The first couple of years were a bit of a learning curve, but the department has been doing well under his lead. Now 36, he still leads the department.
