So lets keep this short and sweet, shall we? I was born to very proper and not overly adoring parents. I grew up in all that pomp surrounding high classed magical families whose bloodlines date back years and years. We weren't the purist for the longest but we were pure for a few good generations and father had plenty of income that would not stop rolling in. Poverty was not a word I knew until I was eighteen and graduated from Hogwarts, but before that a lot had happened and I'll try and condense it down, at least a little. I was the first born child and only heir for Avalon and Lawson Meadowes. For a long time I had no siblings and I was raised as an only child. So far not so bad, I know. I was taught all about blood purity from my nanny, taught about how magic would sometimes be stolen from a magical baby resulting in a squib. The thieves of such magic? Muggles of course. I learnt early on, before I even attended Hogwarts what utter hogwash that all was and so I started questioning a lot of things in my life but I kept my questions to myself, exploring the answers alone, knowing I couldn't ask my parents nor any other adult I was supposed to trust at such a tender and impressionable age. Eventually it was time to go to Hogwarts. I'd questioned my entire upbringing and found solace in knowledge. I was sorted into the house of the learned, those with a thirst for learning. I felt at home as though I had found kindred spirits. I only ever had to return home for the Christmas and Summer holidays but at Hogwarts I made true friends, not those that I was forced to socialise with at fancy soirées. I learnt much in my time at Hogwarts and my favourite subject was most certainly the female anatomy, of which I was an expert. You see I was always a handsome lad, I had a way with words that would cause hearts to flutter, cheeks to blush, and knickers to ... well that's a bit more information than I think we need for right now. Needless to say I was what one might consider a bit of a ladies man. There was no one in particular that caught my eye and my parents were pushing for some kind of arranged marriage. If I hadn't found a bride for myself by the time I was 25 they would find one for me. Love was not something I would ever compromise on but at the same time I knew it couldn't be rushed or forced. The only person that ever caught my eye, made me smile for more than just being pretty was a feisty little spitfire in her fourth year while I was in my seventh. Obviously there was nothing that could happen, I was Head Boy, seventeen years old and she was a trouble making, blood traitor, fourth year that had just hexed the Slytherin Quidditch team captain from one end of the great hall to the other. She caught a lot of eyes that day but her name was something that would always stick with me, even after graduation. Emily Moon. I needed someone like that in my life, I could love someone like that, someone that was willing to do what was needed. Sure she may have seemed like a thug for blasting that poor captain across the great hall but having seen what happened, I can tell you, he most certainly deserved it. After graduation I came to realise that despite all my knowledge I was ignorant. There was much I needed to learn about everything in life. My parents had given me a younger sister while I had schooled at Hogwarts and I'd never really seen her much, I still don't see her much but we get on well. I'd always wanted to help people in my life, it felt like a calling and so with some of the most top grades in my year at Hogwarts in some of the most complex of classes, I made my way to St Mungo's where I trained hard and eventually became a healer. I worked, I wooed, I kept my parents happy. Father had always wanted me to carry on the family business but I insisted on being a Healer. Mother put her foot down with father and I was allowed to carry on my job with their blessing. Mother was, from what I recall, always the fair one, but cross her and she could become the most vindictive and vile human being you'd ever met, even father had his moments where he feared mother and what she would say or do. It was fair to say she ran the house, the family. Something I'd never realised until I was 24 and time was closing in and I was without a suitable girlfriend or wife. Mother started making arrangements and while she did I fell in love. I saw her working in a bookshop. Out in the muggle world I came across her in a run down, tiny little shop. I wasn't even sure if it was her but I went in, acted like I was browsing the shelves and that was when she pulled her wand out on me. We were the only two in the shop and she had her wand pointed at me. She told me to leave, that my kind wasn't welcome here and it took me a while to realise what she meant. I was still seen like one of those elitists that wanted to rid the world of muggles. I was far from that but she knew my name, my reputation and I knew hers. A few times I went back to the shop while she was working, chatted a little here and there, even asking her out on a date. She refused, she still didn't trust me or like my presence in the store but I was crafty, I only came when her manager was about, knowing she wouldn't dare draw her wand in front of a muggle but then one day she did. Despite the muggle being present and me not doing any harm she insisted I leave and never return. I've never had my heart broken in my life but in that moment I felt unsure of what my future would hold. I wanted the pleasure of having this woman in my life, I was certain I was falling in love, even though our encounters were brief and she had drawn her wand on me twice now. I was barred from the shop and I had no idea how I could see her again.
