PERSONALITY Boggart: Iason's Boggart is seeing his grandmother crying and broken down. She has always been a strong and stable pillar in her life. Her, drifting away is his biggest nightmare. Mirror of Erised: He sees his father in the Mirror of Erised, his father smiling with his arms outreached. Patronus: Giraffe - His happiest memory when his grandmother, Sybil, gave him a box, carefully wrapped in blue paper. Inside the box was the wand that belonged to his father, Hornbeam, Coral Core, 11/34 inches, made by a wand maker known as Gregorovitch. Being given this wand, when he was eleven, is by far his happiest memory. Iason is a runner at his heart. He is not the type of person that runs from his battles, but, he is always on the run. It is as if he cannot slow down. He relieves his stress by running. He runs every morning, like clockwork. No matter how late he goes to bed, he’s up by five-thirty in the morning so he can run. This is his routine, but, his routes are always different as he changes his direction. Iason is used to getting his way. He has learned to take advantage of his advantages. He’s used to being the center of attention, or at least being near the center of attention. This was a focus that he had to grow up with. His grandmother dominated politics. He grew up in the view of that life. While he is used to getting his way, he loves power. When he’s in charge, he tries to run a tight ship. Along with this, he’s very organized. His clothes are folded perfectly. His bed is perfectly made each morning. His desk always somehow looks perfect. This was due in large effect of him being raised upon appearance. He cares about appearance, and how his own environment influences him. This leads to him being detailed oriented. Pain is something that is real to him, physical pain. It distracts him from his emotions. He tries his best to bury his emotions, a task that is not easy. The pain gives him adrenaline. This is why he runs so much, he pushes himself until his lungs hurt. He takes risks, often not necessary, just to get the rush. If he gets wounded, he won’t go get help. He’ll bury it and try to treat it himself. This has made him rather good at healing magic. He strongly dislikes being at reunions, family dinners, or anything that is a dramafest. The arguments bore him. He does not want to keep up with them. But, he would prefer to just have a cup of coffee and pretend he’s not there. Along with this, with other people, Iason has to be the one to win. He does not tolerate himself losing unless he lost in a great game. Iason does not half-ass anything, that includes games. Nobody wins because he went easy. He was born into a strong standing family that moves in high life society. This forced him to learn his etiquette and manners. He knows what silverware to use. He is polite. He talks smoothly. He’s practiced in many subjects, coached by his family. They taught him to remain calm under pressure. When there’s too much pressure, he’ll run away and disappear. He is a rather intelligent and opinionated boy. Around those he trusts, he often speaks on impulse. He was taught by his grandmother to think before speaking, a trait that has become quite strong as of late. He has an apathetic demeanor. He cares for things and loves and hates things. But, he at times when speaking to others, can seem apathetic in their dealings. He experiences discomfort talking to some people and is simply not interested in them. This does wear off as people get to know him. He is emotional, but, he doesn’t let others see it. If someone does witness his emotion, and he doesn’t know them, he will try to ruin the person. Iason often forgets to eat, and it is not uncommon for him to lose weight. He forgets that he needs food. This is due to him battling his emotions as a young teenager, and to the current day. When he feels overwhelmed, he goes for a run. If he needs to cry, he cries in the shower. He tries his best to hide his emotion, but, he does not eat his emotions. If he’s nervous, he runs. If he’s sad, he goes to the shower. If he’s angry, he runs. If he’s happy, he’ll show it. It is not uncommon for his family members and close friends to bring him food to force him to eat. He’s very focused while studying. He’s afraid of the consequences from his grandmother if he were to fail in life. He is afraid of disappointing his family. His favorite food is bananas. Very few people know that about him. HISTORY Mother: Tiffany Elle Woods, 17 Squib Father: Griffin Galanis, 20, Slytherin, Pureblood Siblings: N/A Partners: N/A Others: Sybil Odele Galanis, 51, Slytherin, Pureblood - Grandmother Tyson Galanis, 50, Slytherin, Pureblood - Grandfather Yelena Galanis, 24, Ravenclaw, Pureblood - Aunt Iason Alaric Galanis was born at 12:00 AM on April 20, 1962 in Wales to a Squib, a Squib greatly hated by his living grandmother, but, that is not something he knows all too well. Her name was Tiffany Woods, she was only seventeen when she became pregnant with Alaric. Her partner was Griffin Galanis, a Pureblood wizard from an upstanding family, who had somehow fallen for the Squib. The reason as to why, Iason has never found out. The boy’s birthday falls upon the Aries-Taurus cusp. He was born just a few seconds after midnight when the zodiac moved to Taurus from Aries. He was raised by his father for the first three years of his life. His father often disappeared, and he was left with his grandparents to be babysat. Some weeks he spent more time with them than he did with his father. But, he always wanted his dad. Iason was incredibly attached. One night he was dropped off at his grandparents’ home. His grandparents’ seemed visibly upset with his father, berating him not to leave. His grandparents’ being upset, his father being angry only made Iason cry out for his dad. He ran outside after his father as he walked away. “Go back inside, Iason.” He spoke the cold words. He didn’t listen and ran after his father. He tripped, “Daddy!” Iason called out, his father disappeared into thin air. That was the last time he had ever seen his father. His grandmother came over and picked him up, carried him inside. At his father’s funeral, he refused to even look at the casket. He stood with his back turned away from his father when everyone stood up to view. He was too scared to see his father. Ten years old. No sign of magic came out of Iason yet. He had a surprising amount of control over his emotions. Though, he was nervous about not having magic. Friends he had made, the children of his grandparents’ friends, they all had magic. They constantly asked if he showed any yet. Sometimes he told a white lie, but, his family knew the truth. He did not show an ounce of magic. At eleven years old on his birthday of April 20, 1973 he had a few moments alone with his grandmother, after going to the zoo with his small family for his birthday. He was handed a wrapped long box. The paper was blue. Inside of the wrapping paper was a wood box with his family named carved on the outside of it. Inside of it, carefully packed was an 11 ¾ inch wand made out of Hornbeam with a core of Coral. The box had a small word carved into the inside of the lid Gregorovitch. He was told by his grandmother the wand belonged to his father. However, Iason was never told exactly how his grandparents were able to obtain the wand, that was defeated in a duel. When Iason held the wand, he felt warm and he levitated off the ground for a few seconds. He was taken by surprise, freaked out and screamed. He landed on his feet just staring at the wand. “I think it spoke to me.” He muttered. This was his first sign of magic, and the clear connection between him and his wand. His grandparents seemed to be pleased it took to him. At Hogwarts, he was sorted into Hufflepuff. The sorting hat had a small argument for a moment while on his head about being between two houses, but, Hufflepuff was the decision it made. At Hogwarts he took a quick liking to Arithmancy, Astrology, and Charms. Iason is not aware of the fact he is half-blood. He has never found out much about his mother, as he was never told. Any time he asked, the subject was changed. He stopped asking about his mother when he was fourteen. When he was fourteen, his aunt Yelena came into his room and gave him a photograph while his grandmother was out. He was told to keep it a secret. The photograph was of his father and of a pregnant woman, both smiling and happy. “That is your mother, Al.” She always called him by his middle name, for as long as he could remember. She never once called him Ian like he used in school, or even Iason. It was Al to her. Sixteen years old, his grandmother had a run for a political office. Minister for Magic. It was a stressful time for him. He felt as if people wanted to know too much about him. He had to deal with it. His grandmother was always strict on him, he had to have the best grades. He had to have good performance reports. Outside of school, he had to be respectful to everything. His name and reputation came first.
