PERSONALITY Boggart: An obliterater. As a child it was a nameless face, dressed in ministry robes coming to obliterate his knowledge of magic. Now that he works in the ministry, and knows those who work as Obliterater, it would likely be one of them. Mirror of Erised: Holding his child, the one he never got to meet due to unfortunate events. Patronus: Owl, his happiest memory was when he received his letter to Hogwarts while staying at Monica's house. Bad Boy- "I wish a maf*cker would try me!" Jesse grew up in the system, fighting for everything he's ever had. And he looooves to fight. Getting under people's skin brings him great pleasure and, here's the kicker, it's nearly impossible to get under his. He's basically steel plated these days, and he can take any insult or punch with a smile. Jesse is a skilled fighter, and he's also a great dueler. He does his best spell work while dueling, and loves to imagine blowing the face off of one of the death eaters. Just give him the chance. Party Hard- "I'm not here for a long time, I'm here for a good time." Partying has always been his thing. He's been sneaking out, sneaking into parties, getting drunk, and whatever else, for as long as he can remember. Things got a little crazy his sixth year after all the shit with Alisha went down, and he got help (per the request of Monica), but that doesn't matter now. He might not be an addict anymore, but Jesse still loves to party. Who doesn't love fast brooms, fast women, and cheap drinks? Flirtatious- "Did it hurt when you fell for me?" One would think that after the death of his girlfriend and loss of his unborn child just a few short years ago that Jesse wouldn't be interested in a relationship, and that would be correct. He's more about a good time, for now, but he's always been a flirt. Pretty faces are his weakness and he will flirt with literally any woman he sees fit, even if their boyfriend is right next to them. And a girl who can flirt back? He's melting, honestly. Jesse doesn't let people in very easily but he's a sucker for a woman's love. He falls hard, and fast for any girl who can meet his match. Spontaenous- "Just jump, the roof isn't that high!" If it's a bad idea, Jesse is probably up for it! Maybe it's that steady buzz he keeps all day, but he loves a good adventure. Day or night he's up for anything, just say the word. Making plans, however, not really his thing. He likes to live by the seat of his pants (it drives Monica crazy). The only constant thing in his life is work, and he wants to keep it that way. Guarded- "I don't trust you, and you shouldn't trust me." All his life he's known upset, and he's built his walls high to make sure that no one can get close enough to hurt him. He keeps everyone at an arms length, though they might not know it. Jesse can make people feel like they are close but deep down he doesn't trust anyone. Not even Monica, and that's saying something. As much as he doesn't trust others, he urges them to do the same. Jesse is a skilled liar, having perfected it over the course of his lifetime. Hell, that's his job! Making up lies for the Ministry! Dishonesty come easily to Jesse, and he has no remorse for his actions. Those who are dumb enough to believe him, are dumb enough to get hurt by him. Funny, Goofy, Silly- "Don't get me started!" Everything he says is laced with humor, it started out as a defense mechanism and now it's just who he is. Doesn't matter if he's fighting, flirting or just chatting, he's probably making a joke out of it. That, or he's being sarcastic. Or making a sarcastic joke, he's a man of many humors! Jesse doesn't seem like he takes anything seriously, and even if he does it might not sound that way. That Part Reserved For Someone Special There is a deep part of Jesse, one that only Alisha had ever seen, where he can be the opposite of himself. Someone who shows their fears, who speaks seriously, someone who isn't guarded. Someone who's willing to shed a tear, look for comfort, give and receive love. If someone is lucky enough to break down his high, high walls they might find the real Jesse. But, that's unlikely. HISTORY Mother: Unknown Father: Unknown Siblings: Unknown Partners: Alisha, Deceased, Ravenclaw, Muggleborn, Ex-girlfriend. Others: Monica Chitney, 54 years old, Halfblood, Foster Care Case Worker Jesse Meyers was born on a late autumn evening near the end of November, his mother's heart as cold as the wind. From what he had heard about her she was a drug addict, brought him into this world shaking from withdrawals and left him there in the hospital. Didn't even have the decency to give him to a nurse, she left him crying in the bassinet in her hospital room. The nurses took care of him until his little body stopped trembling, and the case workers could start placing him in foster care. He didn't remember much of the first four years, his first memory was the day he met Monica. It had been a few months since he had switched foster homes, these people seemed nice enough- but rarely paid attention to the four children under their roof. Jesse and two of his older foster siblings played in the back yard of the home, the playing was more fighting to be honest. As the older boys threatened to beat Jesse he snatched a spruce twig from the ground, pointed it at them and before he knew it they were laying flat on their backs three feet away. Monica came that day and took him to her office. Monica was a nice lady, she worked specifically with magical children as both a foster care case worker and a muggle liaison officer for the Ministry. She explained to Jesse that it was likely he possessed magical powers but urged him to keep it quiet. From then on she was the only case worker he saw. He continued living in the system, bouncing from family to family. There were a few times that adoption seemed likely, but the white families wanted white children, and the black families wanted black children. There was no place for him, no where to call home. In the summer of 1969 Monica came and took Jesse from his foster family, telling them of a possible forever family. It wasn't true, instead he went to her apartment in Diagon Alley and stayed with her, when he asked why she was told that she was expecting something for him. On the third day of his stay an owl came to her window with his letter to Hogwarts. Monica returned him to his foster family, explaining to them that his new family would be taking him in a few short weeks. Once he arrived at Hogwarts he was sorted into Slytherin house, excited as ever to begin his new life. It was hard for him to stay excited for long, he heard stories about what what happening to muggleborn witches and wizards outside of the walls of the castle. He had written to Monica about it, and she had replied that he need not worry. As long as he was at Hogwarts, he would be safe. He felt like a coward, shutting out many of the purebloods in his house in fear that they might hurt him. Jesse kept very much to himself in the beginning of his first year, but soon made some friends that helped him see not everyone was like the death eaters. As the year drew to an end he was sad to leave Hogwarts, and was once again thrown into the foster care system. As the years progressed attacks became more prevalent and Jesse found himself drawn toward dueling and defense against the dark arts. He was growing into a strong, and stubborn young man, who promised himself to never hide in the face of danger. The shame of how afraid he had been his first year stuck with him. During his third and fourth year families were being targeted left and right by the death eaters. He was happy, for once, that he didn't have a family. During his 5th year he met a Ravenclaw girl, Alisha, she was a muggleborn just like him, and had lost her family the year prior. She was in the foster care system, knew Monica, and had a lot in common with Jesse. The two became fast friends, eventually leading to more. The summer before 6th year he and Alisha had been placed in the same home, Monica insisted the two stick together (it was easier for her that way). Putting two hormonal teenagers together wasn't exactly a great idea and the two found it very easy to form a physical relationship. That August Alisha revealed to Jesse that she was pregnant. The two were sixteen, babies having babies, and as scared as he was, Jesse also found himself excited. He had never had a family before, and now they could be a family together. He had never imagined starting a family with Alisha, though. Truthfully, the two were just friends having fun. As the school year drew closer the two wondered what they would do with this pregnancy, and like clockwork Monica came the week before school to take them shopping for supplies. It was there that Alisha met her terrible fate. The two had been shopping and gathering their supplies all morning. Alisha's cat had fallen sick and passed away over the summer and she needed a new one. When she entered the store she was caught in one of the death eaters attacks on muggleborn business owners. She, as well as a few others, were trapped in the building as it burned. Sixth year was hard for Jesse as he coped with the loss of his friend, and his unborn child. No one knew about the baby, or that he and Alisha were even together. It was something he suffered in silence. He began to turn more to drinking and drugs as the year progressed. Jesse always had an attitude problem, but it worsened as his addictions spiraled. He was barely making it through his classes, and somehow Monica had found out. She wasn't his mother, by any means, but she knew she needed to step in and guide him. At the end of the year Monica threatened that if he didn't get help over the summer that he would not be welcome back to Hogwarts in the following year. Hogwarts was everything to Jesse, it was the only home he had ever known and the only thing he had ever loved. He spent half of that summer in a muggle rehabilitation center, and the other half in a half-way home. Monica stuck by him through it all, and he began seeing her more as a mother than a case worker. Jesse returned to Hogwarts for his final year before graduating in 1976. After graduation, Monica helped him to get an internship with the Ministry. She had worked as a muggle liaison for nearly twenty-five years there, she had pulled some strings to get him in. From 1976 to 1978 he served as an intern, not sure which department he had the most interest in. He floated in between them all, fetching coffee, making copies, sending out owls. He began to wonder if a job in the Ministry was right for him. That is, until the carnival attack in 1978. It was a horrendous attack killing and wounding muggles and wizards alike. The ministry was buzzing with a way to explain the muggle deaths, and like fate, Jesse stumbled into the board room as they discussed it. He offered a reasonable excuse, which they ended up using, and was offered a position as a member of the Muggle-Worthy Excuses Committee. He took the job and has been working there ever since.
