Dorcas had left work later than she'd expected. Not by much, only ten minutes, but she'd been hoping she'd have been out on time as Jasper was coming over to her place later. She presumed that despite practically inviting himself over that he wouldn't be joining her for a shower after her run so she still went for her run, getting home a little later and sending her owl off to the local pizza shop. It was a muggle place but they seemed to love it when she order by owl. Beetle would peck at the window outside of the shop, amusing the patrons and the staff. Someone would come out and take the parchment from the eagle owl and then make her Order. Beetle would just fly off into the night as soon as his task was done. Dorcas didn't care that the pizza shop workers thought of her as some crazy, eccentric nut job, she was too lazy to call and talk to a real person and she was way too lazy to actually go into the shop herself and wait around. Her order tonight was her regular with a couple of extra pizza's too. She had beer, cider and a few other drinks spread across her fridge and cupboards so if he felt like something she had that. She just had no idea what Jasper liked but the order specifically asked for delivery at a slightly later time of 19:15 so there was no chance of it turning up while she showered. She had no idea if Jasper would have eaten before coming over but she liked to be prepared when it came to food, she wasn't the best at sharing so getting extra made sense, plus her mother had taught her it'd be rude to eat without having something on offer for your guest and she was bloody starving so she was absolutely going to eat her body weight in pizza tonight.
Dorcas had gone for her run and showered off as soon as she'd got home. She wrapped the towel around her body and had one up with her hair. She was tempted to stay like that until Jasper arrived, give him a little treat for being so kind. Or just give him a little treat because she wanted to. Merlin he wasn't her type but that body of his made him an exception. She could see by the way his suit fitted him that his body was basically all muscle. There were a few things Dorcas liked and enjoyed about Rodolphus but he didn't suit all her needs and she couldn't see that he ever would. It wasn't often that Dorcas fooled around with someone else but when she did she was rather more cautious than to do it in her own home. She'd given Rodolphus a key to her first flat not long after she'd moved in. It had only been about a month but by that point they'd been fooling around for well over two years with the twisted pervert seeking her out on her Hogsmeade weekends once he was graduated. Rodolphus was convenience, he was fun and he'd started something in her she'd never before even thought about let alone imagined she'd come to enjoy. But sometimes she needed more. Sometimes she needed gentle, a connection to someone beyond the physical. Hooking up with random guys or having a friend with benefits had worked for a while. Everyone was gentle compared to Rodolphus but she was less into all that now than she had ever been but that didn't mean she didn't enjoy the company a few others every now and then.
Dorcas got herself dressed and did her hair, drying it with her wand, having no idea how long it would be until Jasper turned up. In their line of business there was no telling what might pull you away. There was a slight chance Jasper would get a lead and have to leave at the drop of a hat but she suspected he was a bit more older fashioned than most blokes, he'd be the sort to send her an apologetic note and possibly even a flower or something ridiculously lame. Perhaps not to her but maybe to someone he liked or actually wanted to woo. Dorcas wasn't much the flower type of person. She'd received them a few times and her mum had always loved them and put them in vases for her but they stayed there until her mum cleared them, or until she had people coming over so she's lift the spell on her house that kept out house elves in order to let Rodolphus' house elf in to clean up properly. She was okay at keeping the cottage clean and tidy, she barely spent any time in it really and most food was take out unless she couldn't be bothered ordering something, then she'd just have cereal and listen to Rodolphus complaining about her poor diet choices. Bleh. The stupid sod could get stuffed. He was always complaining about something or the other. The house was too small, she wouldn't let him smoke inside, she sprayed soy sauce in his eye again. Merlin he was such a child sometimes. If he wasn't so fantastic in bed - and out of it as was usually the case - she would have told him to bugger off long ago, however she hadn't and as a result the stupid sod had become endearing.

Cat and Dog Those fingers in my hair That sly come hither stare That strips my conscience bare It's witchcraft.
608 words Mood: Playing it Cool “ Jasper lost track of time. Funny how a singular thing could cloud a mind the entire day only to be lost sight of toward the end of a working shift. Jasper’s mind had been on his conversation with Dorcas, analyzing his actions and conversation. Was it rude for him to practically invite himself over to her house? She didn’t seem to mind. Was he expecting something? Was she? Was this a date? Jasper had inwardly rolled his eyes at himself as that question repeated in his brain. He was not some overeager school boy asking a girl out. Hell, even when he was a teenager he didn’t question himself or fixate on a girl the way he was now, what the hell was wrong with him? But when the time came to leave and get ready for his not-date time slipped past him, working late on a case. It wasn’t until an owl dropped a letter at his desk that he realized the time. Artemis was asking if he was still coming by the farm to get the supplies or not. “Bollocks.” He uttered another spell to “close up” something he had worked on previously due to often losing himself in work. Neatly his files began to sort themselves and fly into the cabinet locking themselves up for the night while Jasper ran out of the room. He wasn’t late. Not really. But he was later than he wanted to be. Going to the farm hadn’t helped. It seemed that no matter how old a person was, they were still answerable to their parents. Once Porpentina learned the reason for Jasper’s visit, she didn’t leave it alone. Which is why at 7:15 (19:15) he was knocking at Dorcas’ door with a veritable feast of food that could easily fill up Jasper several times over – and he didn’t get to be as big as he was without an equally impressive diet. He wasn’t the only person at the door. Jasper found it only too ironic that he and the delivery man arrived at the same time, making his mother’s well-intentioned gift even more ridiculous. While Jasper wasn’t overly concerned with his figure, despite his physique as evidence of how much time he spent doing some sort of physical activity, it would require one hell of a work out to get through the surplus of food. There was a very pleasant way to stay in shape, and he’d be lying if his mind hadn’t gone there a thousand times since Dorcas’ pussy comment from this morning. Truthfully that wasn’t the first time his mind had gone in a carnal direction where Dorcas was concerned either. But over the years nothing had come from it. He respected her as an auror, and aside from the occasional conversation he’d never made a move.
He didn’t really take the time to consider the reasons why, but if he could be an observer in his life the answer would probably be the fact that they worked together. Jasper had a pretty good track record of loving and leaving with hearts still intact. The few and far times in between where a heart was a bit scarred Jasper felt an abundance of guilt that only distance (after several attempts to mend things) could fix. Were something to happen between him and Dorcas and subsequently go wrong, there was a potentially messy situation he’d rather avoid all together. So what the hell was he doing at her door? Guess he was just rolling with it for now. Jasper heard shuffling on the other side of the door, and all the previous internal dialogue and concern disappeared.”

Dorcas mucked around the house a little before there was a noise from the front. She'd only been playing with the kittens until they'd grown bored, which had been all of one minute, and then she'd checked the fridge for food, forgetting she'd ordered pizza. She remembered when she looked at the empty fridge and figured she should order something and that was when the little wand lit up in her mind, reminding her that she had four pizza's on the way, her usual Order of two pizzas, which she could usually sit a scoff down the majority of after a long day, and another two incase Jasper was anything at all like her - which with a figure like his she figured he was probably always eating. Heck, his desk was probably full of snacks now she came to think of it and she was definitely going to enquire about that at some point and probably hit him up for a sugar high if he had any decent, exceedingly unhealthy treats. Which she bloody hoped he did.
Dorcas made her way to the front door, gabbing her muggle money out of the little bowl she had on a table near the front door. She opened the door to be greeted with one not bloke holding food but two. "Come in, Scamander." She told Jasper who was easily the tallest and burlier of the two and better looking of Dorcas was quite frank about the young lad that barely seemed to be out of his teens and delivering take away food. Stepping aside while looking at the muggle money in her hand Dorcas left a bit of space for Jasper to get by and counted the notes. She grabbed a few of the notes and held them out to the delivery guy, who took them and then passed her the stack of pizzas she'd ordered, money pinched between his fingers precariously as the pizzas were held between his hands. They smelt delicious, she did love some good muggle pizza and while the place in the local town wasn't the very best in Italian cuisine, it was good enough for her liking. Then again Dorcas wasn't exactly all that fussy when it came to food. She lived off of take away and cereal when she was home, whatever the cafeteria at work had to offer and on Sunday's she had her parents roast to look forward to. Occasionally she'd make her way over to Dorian's and casually help herself to literally anything he had around the place but his foods were usually all way too healthy and often required prepping and cooking the food yourself. Dorcas much preferred something with a less than thirty second prep time or a quick spell to reheat something. When she wanted to eat she wanted to eat right in that moment, giving time to prep something and then actually cook it was insane in her mind which was probably why she really was such a terrible cook and had nearly burnt a few of her places to the ground since she'd been living on her own. Part of her was tempted to listen to Rodolphus and actually take some sodding cooking lessons but after work there was very little she could be arsed to do. Most of her nights simply consisted of either work, Rodolphus or chatting with her mum for a couple of hours about things she honestly did not care about and could wait until the weekend, but it wasn't as if she could just tell them woman to shut up, as she would with any other person. Dorcas often found her mother annoying but there wasn't anything she wouldn't do for the woman ... except have children.

Cat and Dog Those fingers in my hair That sly come hither stare That strips my conscience bare It's witchcraft.
450 words Mood: Playing it Cool “ Jasper was always eating. Snacking. Munching. And so on. At this point it was barely a conscious act, but a few girlfriends had remarked upon it as well as his sister a time or two when she had stayed with him. The man could eat, and he ate often. But none of what he ate added to an ounce of fat on him, whether that was good genes or the intense lifestyle he lived, was still up for debate. Probably a combination of the two, but it was plain to see that there was muscle beyond the physique he inherited from his parents. He put his body through hell. Chasing dark wizards around the globe or chasing his demons at the makeshift gym in his basement, there was no shortage of physical labor for the extremely fit auror. Dorcas would find herself well pleased with the cache of goodies he stored at his cubicle, but for the most part he ate pretty healthy. He loved cooking (though he rarely had the time), and the farm had a never-ending supply of fresh produce as well as protein – which was a godsend considering the many mouths to be fed. Dorcas’ fridge would be well stocked with said fruits of labor now that there wasn’t as many Scamander children to feed.He smiled as the door opened, though it was more of a sheepish grin – which would later be explained by the abundance of food he had brought – and went inside. The pizza did smell good. He briefly wondered if there were more people coming by that evening. He knew he could take a pizza down himself, but she had ordered four of them, how much could Dorcas eat? After the door was shut he turned his attention to her, “Sorry I’m a bit late, mum wouldn’t let me leave without packing up half of the food stores.” He nodded toward the pizza she was holding, “Between the two of us we could give up chasing criminals and open a restaurant, or at least buckle down and hibernate for the rest of winter.”Wasn’t that a delicious idea? There was no sexual connotation to his remark, but he caught the double meaning as soon as the words left his mouth. Food, sex, sex and then food, that would be a marvelous way to spend the rest of winter, particularly with Dorcas Meadowes. Pussy. Pussies. Cats damn it.Jasper’s mind was far more carnal in Dorcas presence than normal, even when flirting or shagging he didn’t seem to have the same kind of trouble as he was having just being around the brunette.“Where should I set these?” he asked referring to the food. ”

Dorcas had shut the door and the aroma of the pizzas was making her even hungrier. She looked over to the containers Jasper had and wondered what he'd brought with him. She didn't consider him late considering they didn't really have a set time but if he was late for anything it was the shower and that he should definitely be apologising for. She was great fun in the shower. Singing off tune was a real specialty. Jasper's little comment about buckling down for winter didn't go unnoticed and Dorcas smirked a little, walking towards the arch under her stairs. "I'm sure the food would last but could you?" She quirked an eyebrow quizzically, Dorcas was willing to bet Jasper's stamina in the bedroom could rival her own, or perhaps he would be a bit of a disappointment. There was only one sure fire way to find out for certain and perhaps she'd have a chance to later this evening after he'd taught her a thing or two about something a little more tame and, in Dorcas' opinion, far less fun.
"Just follow me. If you keep your eyes on my arse you should be fine." She gave a little brow wiggle and went under the stairs, through to her little reading area. It was a clam and light space but it was the least used room of the house, unless you counted cutting through it to get to the kitchen as a use. It had a couple of comfy places to sit and a large bookshelf full of all sorts of materials but Dorcas really had no use for the room. She'd sat in there a few times since she'd moved but mostly she read anything work related in the lounge down the other end of the house. As luck would have it the house wasn't actually all that big so she was through the reading room in no time and placing the pizzas down on the kitchen counter and spreading them out. "So what'd you bring?" She asked, opening up the first of the pizzas and setting it to the side and opening another, figuring Jasper was smart enough to follow her arse without walking into a wall though if he did walk into a wall it wasn't as if she could blame him, her arse could be quite the distraction. She just hoped if he did end up whacking his head that he could still help her out with how to look after the kittens, she had no idea what she was doing with those little monsters, nor where they were currently hiding. Chances were they were getting ready to pounce or sleeping. That seemed to be all they did.
