It was so sweet of you to write! I had a wonderful Christmas, thank you, and I hope that you did too! It's always nice to hear from you - although I must confess that ten times a day may be a little excessive; could you possibly keep it to five?! Honestly, do feel free to ask me anything about Transfiguration or Potions or anything else, although I can't promise to be much help if Divination is involved- are you taking Divination? I'm so sorry, my mind is a sieve at the moment! What I get up to with James is my private concern and you are far too young to be thinking about that sort of thing- but I jest, of course, and I'll tell him it's from you; I'm sure he'll be delighted!
Best wishes for the New Year and for your NEWTs, although I'm quite sure I'll be hearing from you again before then in any case! Good luck- not that you'll need it.

Dear Echo;
I must admit that I entirely agree with you as regards Divination; I never could get on with it, and honestly, I'm not sure I want to know what the future holds anyway! It might not be good, and then what would I do? There's really no need to worry about History of Magic; so long as you revise properly and know all the dates, then you'll be able to cope with anything that they throw at you. Have confidence, and remember, you can ask me anything - although not about the birds and the bees, please!

I'm afraid if I were to take a picture of his face, I would have to spend so long explaining what a camera was that he'd look more bemused than shocked! Still, I'll do my best for you. I'm always happy when I'm snogging, as well you know! And how about you, my love? Any romance on the horizon? I must have all the gossip!

You said, and I quote 'I would rather kiss a Grindylow than take Divination', so do excuse me if I don't take your word about my wonderful future, won't you?! Can I not just sign myself Lily? Everyone knows who I am, it's not as though there are hundreds of others who use my owl and my envelopes to write letters to my friends!

Personally, I think it would be worse for the bird, since the bee can sting, but perhaps I'm biased? I've never been a bee... of course, I've never literally been a bird either, but you know what I mean! I'll shove a camera into Sirius' hands. He probably knows what he's doing with it. Nothing surprises me with that boy any more. Anyway, you really must let me know who you end up kissing - just be careful that you don't let him sting you, my dear!

But why can't I quote you?! You say such wonderful things! Really, Echo dear, you simply can't blame me if you keep contradicting yourself. If you must know, I haven't been practising... much... I just have naturally beautiful writing!
