PERSONALITY Boggart: Her ex-boyfriend, Collin, watching her Mirror of Erised: Herself, successful, confident, and happy. At times she may see herself as a mum and wife, but not always. Patronus: Butterfly - Rhia is unable to conjure a patronus after several years in an emotionally abusive relationship. Once upon a time, it was that very relationship that she was able to think of in order to produce her butterfly patronus. Rhia is reserved and generally quiet in her day to day life, but she does have a wild side which comes out when she drinks or is overly tired. She would never consider herself a leader, though she won’t follow just anyone and she can make a decision should the moment call for her to. She prefers to hang out in the background, keep her head down, and work hard. Any friends she had in school would have been lost during her relationship with her now ex-boyfriend Collin, and she finds making friends as an adult much more difficult a task than when she was younger. Childhood friends that managed to stick around would be rebuilding a strained relationship, but Rhia would rather work to keep her friends than for them to disappear from her life completely. As the youngest Rayne child, Rhia had a very different view of her family growing up than her older siblings had. She was never close with her sister, who was nearly a decade older than she was, and her brother was a bit of a shit, but he spent his time mostly bullying other kids in the neighborhood. Neither had much time for Rhiannon, and her parents were always busy with their own thing, so Rhia learned to play by herself. She was a very reserved little girl, but she was creative and liked to use her imagination. She created all sorts of adventures for herself and her toys to go on in the backyard, the cries of her brother’s victims sounding in the background and he chased them down on his bike and began to wallop on them. It was strangely quiet in the neighborhood after her brother left for Hogwarts, and she managed to make a few friends in his absence – the kids weren’t as afraid of coming over with him gone. When it was her turn to go off to Hogwarts, she was sorted promptly into Ravenclaw which surprised her a bit. She didn’t think she was smart enough to be an Eagle, but then again, her sister had been in Ravenclaw and Rhia didn’t think she was overly intelligent, so why couldn’t Rhia too be sorted into the house of the wit? Rhia was thankful to have her friends in school, and her big brother’s reputation kept the majority of the troublemakers away, which allowed her time to do things she enjoyed, none of which was studying. She was a decent student in school, her professors frequently chastised her for not working harder because she had “such wasted potential” and while she was never going to be in the running for Prefect, she always wasn’t a poor student. Middle of the road seemed to be her sweet spot. In her final year at Hogwarts, Rhiannon started dating Collin. He was a Gryffindor boy in her same year and while he wasn’t stunningly attractive, he had a quality about him that Rhia fell for instantly. He was so confident and charming. They dated most of her seventh year and continued their relationship after graduation. They had even moved into a little flat in Wales together, but after nearly eight years together, Rhiannon broke off the relationship and moved out. It was a shocking split to her family and friends, most of whom had been unaware of the troubles in their relationship, mostly because Rhia rarely spent much time with anyone other than Collin. Most are still in the dark about the emotional abuse Rhia underwent, or dismissive of it as Collin had never physically hurt her. Rhia learned to keep quiet about Collin and she’s been free from him for a handful of years now, but every once in a while, she will see or hear something that reminds her of Collin and retreat into herself. Thankfully, she has a job that has kept her grounded (or at least busy), so she can never disappear for very long. Toward the final half of her relationship with Collin, and for about six years now, Rhiannon has been working at the International Magical Law Office within the Ministry of Magic. After years of legal training, Rhia has finally moved out of the apprentice role and is beginning to work more independently as a full-fledged Lawyer.
