PERSONALITY Boggart: Lord Voldemort killing him. Mirror of Erised: Himself standing beside his brother, united again. Patronus: Black Dog - As a Death Eater, Regulus was never able to produce a patronus, but recently he has begun to learn, and is confused as to why it takes the form of a black dog. Maybe he needs more practice. His happy memory is small, but solid. He and his brother as children, sneaking into the garden to make mud pies. Regulus is a bit of a faker. He did as he was told his whole life, became what his parents wanted him to be, followed all the rules (mostly), and made his father proud. He has never really had the opportunity to explore who he is when he's not under the scrutiny of his parents. Even at Hogwarts he felt like he was being watched. Too many other kids who might tell off him if he stepped out of line. The smartest thing to do was stick to the rules. And Reggie is smart. Gifted with brains above all else, he certainly has his wits about him. You can't pull the wool over his eyes, and he is highly perceptive, though getting him to speak up about it when you are trying to pull one over on him is a different matter. He has never been the most confident person. He is confident with his friends and lovers, but when it comes to standing up against the people that matter, he has always preferred to keep his thoughts and opinions to himself. Don't rock the boat. Until recently. He knows that the path his parents are making him follow is the wrong one. He's known it all along. His brother had the right idea, but banishment from the family has always seemed a bit too harsh of a punishment for Regulus. He likes his comforts and his circle of friends. But lately he is questioning his own morals. You see, he is a good person underneath the Slytherin Prince routine, and just recently, he has forced himself to step up and be a little bit bolder in life. We'll see how it goes. Slytherin Prince. Under all the pressure to be everything his disappointment of a big brother was not. It wasn't always that way, Reggie had a good childhood, relatively pressure free thanks to him being the youngest. It wasn't until his teens that everything got a lot harder. Sirius rebelled, and his parents looked to Regulus to fill those boots as the only son they had left. It was a tough job, but as far as the outside world was aware, he was up for the challenge. He was the perfect son on the outside, clever, popular, respectful, well-liked. He aced it. It was a different story on the inside. He missed his brother. He thought his brother had the right idea, to be honest. Being pushed to join the Death Eaters when he was only a teen solidified those thoughts, but Reggie never had the guts to do anything about it. He didn't want to be disowned as well, or worse, killed by Lord Voldemort for deserting. He played the role that was expected of him, and remained to terrified to speak out. He was a coward if ever there was one. Until this year. Reggie, gay as they come and cowering in the broom closet, was to be betrothed to someone. He didn't know who just yet, but it was the last nail in the coffin. The straw that broke the camel's back. He nicked one of Voldemort's horcruxes and ran. Ran straight for Albus Dumbledore and begged for protection. Of course, it didn't go as smoothly as that, and he was interrogated until the cows come home to make sure that he wasn't a spy for the Dark Lord. The bottom line is, he has hidden a horcrux where Voldemort will never be able to get to it, and he is now in hiding, and a full member of the Order of the Phoenix, giving them any and all information that he can from his short time as a Death Eater. He won't fight in the war, it's not in him, not yet, but he has taken the first huge, brave step in righting his wrongs.
