PERSONALITY Boggart: Aliens. Honest to Merlin, the thought that there are weird, highly intelligent beings out there, just watching and waiting... *shudder* He mostly takes Astronomy just so he can try and comfort himself that it's just a bunch of rocks floating around in space, and nothing more. Mirror of Erised: At this young stage in his life, Ash really wants nothing more than to be at home. He would see himself graduated from Hogwarts and living in a house of his own in the town he grew up in, close to his family and everything that is familiar to him. Patronus: Komodo Dragon - Ash cannot produce a Patronus yet, though when he does learn, it will take the form of a Komodo Dragon, a fellow homebody. Ash is a lovely lad. A little bit on the quieter side, he's a deep thinker, and feels even deeper than that. He is very much the kind of home bird that can't stand being away from his family, or his home, for too long. He gets terribly homesick at the castle, and hates living in a draughty, dirty, hard, cold place, and sleeping in a bed that countless others have slept in for centuries before him. He likes his home comforts, he likes his mum's cooking, and he likes his personal space. Sharing a room with so many people irks him to no end. That being said, Ash can get quite moody a lot. He won't hide it, either, he wears his heart on his sleeve, and whatever he is feeling, you will know instantly. He can hold a grudge like no other, and even though he has agreed to forgive a slight, he won't forget it, and it will be brought up in conversation when you're least expecting it. He loves a good moan. There are upsides to him, however, he's not all moody and homesick. Ash is a wonderful friend. Loyal as hell; when he makes friends, they're friends for life. He's not into frivolity when it comes to his mates, if you're in, you're in, and he's very picky about who he lets in. He loves his Quidditch, and enjoys keeping fit and having something to keep him occupied and fend off that homesickness. He's the guy who will give you cuddles just because, the guy who watches you with such intensity from across the room, dark eyes probing into your skull, but when you ask him why, he reveals he was merely thinking about dinner. He's no stranger to getting up close and personal with a girl or a guy around the castle, and he's not ashamed of it. He knows he's beautiful, but he's not arrogant about it, it's just a fact, and he likes to indulge with whoever wants a piece of him. Again, it keeps his mind busy. He's not looking to settle down so young, but he does enjoy life's pleasures, and can't resist a flirt. He loved his parents and baby brother intensely, and was a major cling on with his mum. She couldn't move without Ash crying for her to come back, and he would be glued to her hip wherever she went. She was a wonderful mother, she didn't mind in the slightest, though his clingy ways stuck with him as he got older. He was a good brother, playing beautifully with Ty, and sharing like a pro, his parents never had any complaints about him, other than that they wished he would be more adventurous. He wouldn't have sleep overs with family, and he didn't like going on holiday. He was happy when they were at home, and he could play with Ty in the garden, and sleep in his own bed. He showed no signs of magic as a child, but that was alright. His parents believed in him enough to never question whether he had magic at all or not. Of course he did, he was just a late bloomer. His Hogwarts letter came, and he felt sick. Absolutely sick. He didn't want to go. He wanted to stay at home with his parents and Ty, and learn magic at home. Why couldn't they teach him? Why did he have to be sent away? Why couldn't he just go to lessons in the day time and then come home each night? He sobbed for weeks, he had mighty tantrums when it came to shopping for his school supplies, and he really didn't care at all whether he had everything he would need. He didn't want any of it. He cried and caused a big scene at Kings Cross, and begged his mum to let him stay at home. He didn't want to learn magic, he just didn't. It wasn't fair! Needless to say, his mum, bless her patient soul, managed to get him on the train, and though she cried all the way home, she knew Ash would be okay, and she had done the right thing. Ash felt betrayed and devastated, and he cried on the train, refusing to talk to any other kids, and basically just sulking the whole way there. He went through the sorting ceremony feeling numb, and was shown to his new "home" in the dungeons, which he hated. It took him a long time to settle in and shake the majority of his grump over the whole thing. Months, in fact. It was only a couple of days before the first school holidays that he finally cheered up a bit, and that was only because he would be going home soon. He eventually made friends, though it was a slow process, and though he absolutely loathed the castle, he realised that with friends by his side it might be slightly more tolerable. Ty joined him the following year, which helped immensely. He joined the Slytherin Quidditch team as Keeper in his fourth year, and had really begun to shine at school. He learned well, and despite his earlier insistence that he didn't want to learn magic, he actually quite enjoyed it. His friends stuck by his side, and he had grown into his looks and actually had a girlfriend, though there have been many more, and quite a few boys in the mix since then. He is finishing up his sixth year, and excited about his seventh, because that means he can get out of this Merlin-forsaken castle once and for all.
