An Idle Mind "Not at all," Johnny replied happily as Doc asked if he had anywhere else to be. Let's head to the Three Broomsticks." A drink with an old friend was a much more appealing prospect than spending the day on his own. He did love his own company, but there were certain people that he always had all the time in the world for, and Doc Dearborn was one of them. He waited while Doc paid for his book, and then the two men headed out of the book shop together, strolling through the sunny village towards the Three Broomsticks. The pub had been such a familiar feature for him as a child, what with visiting every month on Hogsmeade weekends with his friends, but sitting in there as an adult felt unnatural. Wearing normal clothes in there felt bizarre. Drinking anything other than butterbeer in there was just the freakiest concept, but he didn't have to change everything, and he let Doc buy him a butterbeer, insisting on getting the next round as they found a table. Johnny took his seat, icy blue eyes darting about the room at the other patrons, who all seemed to be older while school was out for the summer. Students tended to go elsewhere while they had the opportunity, but the pub still did wonderful business without them, and there was hardly an empty table in the building. The window seats were all taken, but sitting in the middle of the room was just as interesting, with great opportunities for people watching, and listening in on interesting conversations in every direction. And yes, he was that kind of curious person who would eavesdrop on strangers and silently judge them, but nobody needed to know that. A lot of Johnny's innermost thoughts never made it to his mouth, but there was nothing too dark in there, despite his secretive nature. "So how is Flo doing?" he asked as he sipped his butterbeer, the cool, sweet liquid doing him wonders on a hot day like today. Everyone seemed to be wearing next to nothing, but Johnny had on jeans which were literally stuck to his legs under the table. He should have worn shorts or cooler pants, but it was too late for that now. He would have to settle for cool beverages and a bit of shade to keep himself comfortable. _______________________ tag: Caradoc Bernard Dearborn words: 415 notes: <3 template by izzy[googlefont="La Belle Aurore"]

An Idle Mind Johnny was chuckling all the while Doc spoke, and just when he thought it couldn't get any worse, he let out a groan. "Oh, noooo!" he cringed, biting his fist as Doc explained how not only did his boot end up with human pee in it, but also pig shit, which was the real kicker. "You'd be surprised how clever pigs are. I can't believe Billy gave it back to you!" That didn't sound like such a far out concept for Billy Binks, though. The guy wasn't the sharpest tool in the box, and though he was a real fun time at parties, he was a bit daft when he was drunk, and Johnny always knew not to expect anything less than pig shit from him, though he never thought it would ever be a literal thing. He could only imagine the look on Doc's face when he'd been handed his boot back in that state, and he snorted again. Doc had one of those expressive faces that just made people laugh, it made Johnny laugh at least, and an image of last Christmas flashed through his mind. "Speaking of pigs, do you remember-" he sputtered through laughs as Doc's wildly bewildered face swam in his memory. "Do you remember tree shopping last year and that saleswoman had you cornered in the snow, trying to sell you more than a Christmas tree?" He began to howl with fresh laughter. "She had on the shortest skirt, and you just looked terrified. Your face was a picture!" Johnny had been browsing real trees in the field outside of the shop, and rounded one display of particularly tall trees to find Doc backed up against the outside of the building by Miss Piggy herself, blonde wig and all. Johnny had enjoyed the moment for a minute before calling out to Doc and basically saving him from a fate worse than death, but he would never forget the look on Doc's face as he tried to handle the woman. His stomach was beginning to hurt, and Johnny took a few deep breaths to try and get rid of the stitch that was stabbing into his ribs. A customer came into their aisle just then, and gave the two men a strange look, unsure of whether to be concerned or amused. Johnny cleared his throat and smiled at the woman, and she hurried on. "I think we're disturbing the peace," he chuckled. _______________________ tag: Caradoc Bernard Dearborn words: 422 notes: <3 template by izzy[googlefont="La Belle Aurore"]

An Idle Mind Johnny burst into laughter, doubling over at the mention of Coventry. Boy, that had been a night to remember! He had been so drunk, he was surprised he remembered much about it at all, but he did. Maybe it was because he'd stuck to drinking that beer that tasted like piss, rather than the amber liquid that everyone else was raving over. Johnny didn't know his way around Coventry, and he'd had work the next morning, so he'd had to be sensible to some degree, but bloody hell, it had been a riot. He remembered dancing a lot, which wasn't so unusual for Johnny. He tended to dance unprompted after half a drink, and didn't give a toss who joined in or what anyone thought of him. Wiping a tear away, he tried to compose himself, and raised his head to look at Doc, who was still laughing loudly. "Definitely not Coventry, that was the most bizarre night!" he said, voice higher than usual. He blew out a long breath to try and calm his laughter, and straightened up a bit more. "I woke up the next morning wearing a bra," he cackled. "So many people had signed it, I'm sure your name is on there, I've still got it." The bra had been white to begin with, but at some point during the night, it had gotten grubbier and grubbier, and now it was a lovely shade of brown with alcohol stains all over it. He kept it in his attic with some other questionable keepsakes he had gathered over the years. There was no chance of anyone stumbling across them, but he liked to know they were there. "Did you ever get your boot back from Billy Binks?" he asked, launching into a fresh set of howls as he remembered Doc limping around the brewery looking for his lost shoe. One of the shop assistants appeared at the end of their aisle and gave them a look that told Johnny they were clearly making far too much noise, and he put a hand over his mouth, clearing his throat and trying to stop laughing, his shoulders hitching up and down with the effort. It would be typical of him to get kicked out of a book shop because of his antics with Doc Dearborn. _______________________ tag: Caradoc Bernard Dearborn words: 405 notes: <3 template by izzy[googlefont="La Belle Aurore"]

Jonathan James Townsend & Narcissa Astrid Malfoy She was the beautiful older snob at school. He used to notice her in the courtyard and the Great Hall, but the age gap was too big, plus she'd have looked down her nose at him. He'd recognise her these days, but probably wouldn't go out of his way to speak to her unless she made an effort, too. Livia Eleanor Grace Burke & Narcissa Astrid Malfoy Liv likes to make her own mind up about people instead of listening to other opinions. She would have thought Cissa was a real lady when they were younger, and probably looked up to her a bit as someone classy and older, admiring Cissa when they let her hang with them and tag along. These days she knows all the rumours that have done the rounds about the Malfoys being infertile and other nasty bits and bobs, but she wouldn't care. She remembers Cissa being kind to her and would do the same if Cissa wanted to reconnect. She would try and distract her and give her a bit of cheer whenever they were together, rather than letting Cissa feel crap and uncomfortable about the past. Finley Charles Avery & Narcissa Astrid Malfoy She's definitely the best Black, hands down. Fin is always the perfect gentleman around her, and appreciates the effort she makes. Evangeline Lucille Nott & Narcissa Astrid Malfoy Frenemies!! Yes! Whatever issues they had at school (maybe boys? Grades? Other trivial crap?) just made them sort of resent each other, or feel competitive, maybe. Evie can do competitive all night. As adults, she would be fake nice to Cissa, but really she's jealous that Cissa is married and doing all the right things, while Evie is still single and her future (as far as family expectations) is still up in the air. At the same time, she has laughed over Cissa not being able to give Luci a child, and been quite the bitch about it. Complicated girl problems between these two. XD Christopher Erebus Devereaux & Narcissa Astrid Malfoy Ooooh! What if Cissa saw Evie snogging Kit that one time at school, and made an offhand comment about him not being good enough or something, and there the dislike from Evie was cemented, which lead to frenemies!? Then Evie stayed friends with Kit and Cissa became someone Kit kind of knew didn't like him. Evie probably mentioned it a time or two to him, so he just looks at Cissa as a complete snob, and wouldn't even look at her if they were in the same room. XD River Aurora Blackthorne & Narcissa Astrid Malfoy Perfect! River would have felt so guilty when Cissa lost her baby. </3 Julian Astraeus Blackthorne & Narcissa Astrid Malfoy Friendly, but slightly estranged. He would stop her in the street for a chat and ask how she was (and genuinely care about the answer). He loves any ties he can grab hold of to River, so staying in touch with her friends makes him feel good. Rabastan Aramis Lestrange & Narcissa Astrid Malfoy Family of sorts. They share a niece. Rabby is a good guy, he admires the effort Luci makes to stick by his wife, even if he does joke around with Luci and poke fun every now and then, when it comes to the crunch, he supports their marriage and would be nothing but happy for them if they ever get to have a child. Cissa is an exemplary wife in Rabby's eyes. So long as she doesn't possess her sister's crazy gene. XD Bellatrix Druella Lestrange & Narcissa Astrid Malfoy Bella loved her sister dearly, but could never understand her want for a child. She probably didn't support her in that as much as she could have, or at all, but for anything else, she was there. They were close until Bella started to become unhinged and didn't give a crap about anyone but herself and Voldy. Ghosty Bella says Cissa can have Aurora. *gasps for air* *dives in again* Echo Arista Everwood & Oliver Osiris Devereaux She's been crushing on him for a while now, but hasn't told a soul. She tries to play it cool around him, but looooves his playful nature and can't resist joining in. Once they get their flirt on, they'll be unstoppable and adorable! Devereverwood babies! X'D <3 Jonathan James Townsend & Oliver Osiris Devereaux Good mates! Ollie brings Azrael to the vet one day and every pet in the waiting room freaks out, and Johnny has to calm them all down. Lmfao He has no idea Ollie's half vamp, but he wouldn't care if he did now. He thinks Ollie is loads of fun, and just enjoys being one of the lads with him. Totally cheers him on at all his Quidditch matches, too! Maybe has a small Falcons banner on the wall at work. XD Livia Eleanor Grace Burke & Oliver Osiris Devereaux Pureblood (supposedly) cutie, good on the pitch, and that hair! She's definitely snapped him in action on a broom, and wants backstage passes to his games so she can do hot locker room photoshoots with him and his team! X'D Finley Charles Avery & Oliver Osiris Devereaux "Why does that tit have to come to my bar?" But he won't turn down good custom, so he doesn't say it out loud and just puts up with Ollie in the Starlight. No love lost, here. Ollie's just a clown in Fin's eyes, but whatevs. Evangeline Lucille Nott & Oliver Osiris Devereaux Kit's cute baby bro. She's friendly to him if they run into each other, but yeah, that's about it I think. Christopher Erebus Devereaux & Oliver Osiris Devereaux Kit is superrrrr protective of his siblings, but he knows Ollie is strong and can take care of himself. He frets so much when Ollie is away for work, but secretly enjoys the quiet around the house. XD He also loves the bones of Ollie for being such a spectacular cock blocker. It's a life saver for Kit. LMFAO Super close, best friends, supportive, honest, try and crack each other's bad habits, both fail spectacularly when surrounded by people they fancy, perfect. X'D Tristan Jude Dearborn & Oliver Osiris Devereaux Trist totally gave Ollie a ride on the back of his motorbike when they first met in the Order. Like literally after the first meeting. He thought Ollie was a great guy with so much potential. Geralina Amara Drake & Oliver Osiris Devereaux She's more comfortable with him because he's Kit's brother, so she copes better when they talk, and probably will end up seeing him as a brother figure eventually, similar to the way she is with Kit. Tessa Nicole Abbott & Oliver Osiris Devereaux LMAO He is adorable! I love him so much. X'D Tess was not offended at all, she just laughed her arse off and complimented him on having huge balls. Bahaha She loved the rattle, and always hails Ollie for a chat whenever she sees him passing through.

Pawsitively Marvelous It wasn't as though Johnny was ticking off the days on his calendar until he was fully qualified as a vet, only... he was. It was strange to him that being a magical vet was different to being a regular muggle one, but he wasn't complaining that it took only three years instead of five. He knew it was because magic was a lot faster to learn than science, and doing an operation on a pet mostly involved knowing which way to wave your wand and what spell to mutter, rather than stitching and prodding and poking all on your own. He fully intended to learn everything he would need to be a muggle vet, too, but for now, qualifying as a magical vet was right on the horizon, and he was beyond excited. Helping animals was something he had always been passionate about, and when he left school, he was torn about what to do. He was smart, he could have gone into the Ministry and had quite a successful career in some brainy department or other, but his heart wouldn't have been in it. His heart was definitely in this. Even as he pulled off his blue work top and threw it in the washing pile in the back room because a puppy had just peed on him, his heart was happy. He pulled on a new top, used to wearing blue scrubs every day by now, and made sure his wand was in his pocket before he checked his parchment. The next name to appear on his list was Mimosa Parkinson, and Johnny smiled. Excellent. He opened the door to the small room he was occupying for the day, and glanced around the waiting area for signs of Mimosa's owner. Unless she'd had major surgery to look like a middle aged Chinese woman, she wasn't there. Letting the door close gently behind him, Johnny crossed the small waiting room and peered out of the front door of the building. Dora leaned against a pillar outside, her tiny dog digging up flowers at her feet. He smirked to himself as she tugged on Mimosa's lead to try and stop her from ruining the flowers. "Mimosa Parkinson," he called, ever the professional in front of his colleagues and the other patients waiting to be seen inside. _______________________ tag: Euphadora Rose Parkinson words: 410 outfit: Sexy vet scrubs. An Idle Mind It was hard to know what to say to someone who had lost someone so close to them. Doc had lost a sibling. Johnny didn't have any siblings, so he could only really try to imagine what it must feel like, but his guess probably wasn't even half close to the reality of it. He nodded as Doc admitted it was tough to say how he was doing, but the good thing was that the guy was getting on with his life. He wasn't letting it get him down. It would be easy for anyone, really, to just shut down and let life slip through their fingers while they grieved, but Doc was here, nosing around a book shop, and that was brilliant. Johnny couldn't help but think perhaps it was best to just leave it there. There was no sense pushing it if Doc wasn't sure how to describe how he was doing. "You look well," Johnny told him, patting him on the arm before breaking contact completely. It was a small lie, the man had tired shadows beneath his eyes, but he looked better than the next man might if he was going through the same thing. He was beyond thrilled to hear that he had actually saved Midnight's life, and blew out a impressed breath at the news that the horse's sibling had died of the same thing. That felt good. Not good that Midnight had lost family, but good that Johnny had done something that had kept her from the same fate as her brother. Saving the life of any creature was the most wonderful feeling, and though he was near the end of his training, and had saved many an animal, it still felt new and fresh and exciting every time. "Oh, man," he shook his head, impressed. "I'm so happy to hear that she's doing well, then. And if I have to shove my hand up there again in the future, I'll be there," he said with a grin. "Maybe buy me a drink after," he laughed. "More history books?" Johnny asked, pointing at the single book Doc had in his hand. The man had a pretty extensive collection at home, Johnny had noticed - of course he was the type of person who nosed through other people's bookshelves when he visited their home - but it was nice to see someone having a passion for something. _______________________ tag: Caradoc Bernard Dearborn words: 420 notes: <3 template by izzy[googlefont="La Belle Aurore"]

Living room The living room is small but comfortable, with the stairs on the back wall leading to the second floor.
Kitchen The kitchen is more spacious and modern, and Johnny does a pretty good job of cooking in here, if he does say so himself.
Dining room Sticking with the small and comfortable theme, the dining room has a table with a window seat, which Johnny really loves as his dogs can jump up and sit with him for meals. He likes to sit in here to study or read.
Johnny's bedroom Clean and simple, Johnny's room is not really used much except for sleeping and snuggling with his pets at night. His mother keeps adding floral pillows whenever she visits, though they usually get thrown under the bed as soon as she leaves.
Spare bedroom The spare room is small and neat, always set up for guests, though they usually trash it and trigger Johnny's neat freak tendencies.
Bathroom The bathroom is quite masculine, but boasts a separate bath and shower, which is pretty awesome.
Garden Johnny insisted on saving his own money to pay for his first home, but he did let his parents splash a bit of cash on his garden, and had a jacuzzi and water feature fitted, and a nice patio area. Gotta have some perks!

An Idle Mind Johnny was beginning to wonder if there was something wrong with him. By now, he usually would have had at least two books picked out to purchase, but his hands were empty, and it had been a good twenty minutes since he had started looking. The trouble was, he already owned most of the books on the shelves in front of him. Maybe Flourish and Blotts might have been a better choice for him, after all. He tilted his head to read the titles on the spines at the next shelf, and frowned, sure he had heard someone murmur his name. He turned to look around the quiet shop, but there was nobody either side of him. Turning fully now, he had just enough time to register Doc Dearborn charging towards him with a huge grin on his face before he was pulled into a rough hug. "Doc!" Johnny exclaimed, embracing the older man happily and thumping him on the back with enthusiasm. He pulled away to look at Doc, Johnny's hand gripping the back of the other man's head as he studied Doc's face. "How are you doing?" he asked, gaze intense, knowing Doc had recently lost a brother. It had been a while since they'd seen each other, so Johnny had no idea how he was faring after Tristan's death. He hadn't seen Lunete for a while, either, though he had sent an owl and some flowers for her, saying how sorry he was and that if she ever needed a friend he would always be available as a shoulder to cry on. Not that he wanted her to cry, she was a tough cookie, but grief was a bitch, and he was a great listener. Doc, on the other hand, was the eldest, he was expected to cope better than his siblings, but he looked tired. "How's Midnight?" he went on, letting go of Doc's head but keeping a friendly hand on his arm as he enquired about the horse. "She hasn't had any more trouble since I cleared her out, has she?" The last time the two men had seen each other was at Doc's home, when Johnny had had to stick his whole arm up Midnight's bum to give her a horse enema when she was constipated. It hadn't been the most glamorous time, and Johnny hoped she was alright so that he wouldn't have to do it again. He had showered three times that night, unable to settle feeling like he had horse dung embedded into his skin, despite the long gloves he had worn. _______________________ tag: Caradoc Bernard Dearborn words: 450 notes: <3 template by izzy[googlefont="La Belle Aurore"]

An Idle Mind
The summer brought with it droves of teenagers filling shops and restaurants, and crowding streets, it was enough to tire the most patient of souls. It was still nice to get out and about, though, and especially nice with the summer sun blazing overhead, bringing smiles to the faces of everyone in Hogsmeade. The path was lined with bluebells and crocus flowers, little white drops hanging from their green stems, brightening up the journey into the small wizarding village. He had no needs for the day. He'd had breakfast, and so wasn't yet hungry, he had all of his notebooks and quills still stocked up from his last visit to Scrivenshafts a while back, and he didn't have enough of a sweet tooth to dive into Honeydukes like a lot of the other visitors to the small village did. If he was with friends he would have gone for a butterbeer in the Three Broomsticks, but as it was, Johnny was alone today, his friends all off doing other things. He was fine with that, not the overly clingy sort, he enjoyed being able to go his own way, and his own way when he was bored, meant the book shop.
Tomes and Scrolls was nowhere near as beautiful or full of character as Flourish and Blotts in Diagon Alley, but it still did the trick for a book lover, and his thought that the village would be mostly avoided by students over the summer had been mostly right, it was quiet today. Inhaling the scent of parchment deeply, Johnny paused in the doorway of the shop, listening to the tinkling bell fade out over his head above the door. He didn't have any particular books in mind, already having every veterinary book he needed, so he would be browsing for pleasure today, something that could take quite a while. It wasn't long until lunch time, but he'd happily skip a meal to have a thorough look around at all of the tomes on offer, and so he began pacing up and down the aisles, scanning the genres and the titles for something that might jump out at him.
Fiction was a surprising favourite of his. His friends had at first pegged him as the type to like educational books, things he could learn from, factual stuff, but Johnny secretly adored the escape fiction gave him. People tended to forget that he was a muggle, and all of this magic stuff was the ride of a lifetime to him, every single thing he could learn and absorb about this incredible world was special to him, and so yes, he did love a good book full of facts about magic, and things to learn, but he was without a doubt somebody who very much enjoyed the pull of a different world, a bit of magic, something exciting and new. He didn't brag about it, nor did he let on to people these days that magic was still a thrill to him, he had grown to act far more cool about it than he had in his first year at school, but it was definitely still an exciting ride for him.

Entrance A large entrance is the first stop in this lovely home, spacious and light, the stairs lead up to the second floor.
Living room Comfortable and bright, the living room looks out onto the back garden with large windows and patio doors.
Kitchen Big enough for three, the kitchen is kept clean and tidy, and is the area where Johnny's mum whips up some seriously delicious meals, especially when her son is home for the holidays.
Dining area The dining room is elegant, and links on to the equally elegant conservatory with views of the garden and a lovely skylight, which is stunning at night.
Conservatoy The conservatory is so comfortable and well used, it's almost a second living room. The family spend a lot of time in here, especially over the summer months.
Landing The landing is big enough for a comfortable couch by the window, somewhere Johnny often frequents when he's at home, with a good book in hand.
Master bedroom Johnny's parents room is simple and comfortable, and the largest in the house, kept beautiful by his mother, who rather enjoys her elaborate beauty corner.
Johnny's bedroom Neat. Tidy. Books everywhere. Large mirrors. Johnny's room is his haven when he's not at school, and he likes to look after it, not appreciating mess at all.
Spare bedrooms There are only two spare bedrooms in the house, the Townsends not one for overdoing it with useless rooms. These rooms are kept spotless and ready for guests at any time.
Reading room His mother being an author, Johnny's house has a small reading room with books lining the walls and his mothers achievements framed in pride of place.
Bathrooms The house has five bathrooms, all very similar in design, four en suite, and one main one to be used by daytime guests.
Garden The back garden is lovely, with a sprawling lawn and a lovely patio with tables and chairs. Barbeques are a must in the warmer weather.

Jonathan James Townsend & Amelia Margaret Greengrass He's a muggleborn. She probably hates him like Jovi does. He doesn't care. He'd be charming and friendly if they had to ever interact and he gives no fluffs what she thinks of him! X'D Jonathan James Townsend & Hazel Winifred Vector He takes her lesson, he's a good student. Smarty pants and well behaved in class. She might have caught him flirting with cute girls across the desks in the classroom over the years, but shhhh.

pear, nundu fang core, eleven inches |
PERSONALITY Boggart: A Thestral. Johnny has never seen anyone die, so he can't see them, and to him it's very logical to fear a creature you can't see, even when it's stood right in front of you. It creeps him out to no end. So, I suppose in essence he fears the unknown. Which is perfectly normal. Mirror of Erised: Johnny wants all of the things most people want. To be happy, to have a family that love each other, a home of his own, a few hundred pets. It would be a simple image, but it would give him so much satisfaction. Patronus: Panther - Johnny's happiest memory is the day he boarded the Hogwarts Express to go to school for the first time. He was so overwhelmed with excitement and adrenaline that he couldn't eat all day for fear of throwing up. Every time he looks back on that day, those same tingles of delight run down his spine, and he remembers how truly lucky he is to have this amazing opportunity in life.
Johnny was always a well-behaved boy, even though he was spoiled rotten by his parents, who had money to spare. It never seemed to go to his head, and though he would get up to his own kinds of mischief, Johnny was never one to get into trouble for any of his fun-loving behaviour. He has always been exceptionally good at finding loopholes. If there is a way around breaking a rule, he will find it. And if there isn't, then he'll still manage to charm his superiors into thinking him a lovely lad even though he's been a bit naughty. Given this, it goes without saying that Johnny is highly intelligent. Always top in his classes at school, he never seems to struggle or have any difficulty learning things, and has a natural understanding of a lot of subjects. And even if he doesn't, he only has to be shown a few times and he's got it nailed already. This goes a long way to helping him keep a good reputation with authority figures.
He has always had a very magnetic quality to him, the kind of vibe that draws people in and makes them want to befriend a person, without really knowing them. Self-protective as he is, Johnny is always welcoming to these people, and gives them all a fair chance. He knows how to turn on the charm and make people smile and laugh, and though he can switch this on and off at will, it is by no means fake. He is always very genuine with his compliments and praise, as well as his cutting humour. Though he loves to have his fun and push boundaries, Johnny is a person who anyone would be lucky to have on their side. He's generous and kind, giving and loyal and would go to the ends of the earth for a good cause. He especially loves animals, and would do anything for them. You can often find him up in the owlery, or sitting in the common room surrounded by cats that aren't his own. He visits the Magical Menagerie as often as possible, even though he finds it horribly cruel to see the creatures caged up and out of their natural habitat. He has always been this way, often taking in strays or injured things he would find on the street when he was a child. His parents always humoured him, as the icy treatment they would get if they didn't, just wasn't worth it.
Johnny has a wonderful zest for life. He can be fun, he can be crazy, and he can be very unpredictable. He is always up for a good party, and is usually to be found dancing away in the corner, surrounded by admiring girls. Charisma is a huge part of who he is, but mystery is equally there. He can be brooding at times, and even moody, liking his quiet time as much as his fun. At school he could often be found siting alone in the common room, seemingly daydreaming, something he still does in his adult life, though it wouldn't be wise to disturb him in these moments, he's got a temper on him and he doesn't like people prying into his innermost thoughts and feelings. Being a Muggleborn in a school house full of pureblood elitists had it's troubles, too, and Johnny has always been more than willing to fight his corner whenever he has to. He's not afraid to stand up for himself or others, and he's quick with his wand as well as his words.

Jonathan James Townsend was born on the 11th November 1958 to a Muggle couple, James and Maggie Townsend. He grew up in a small town on the outskirts of London, completely oblivious to the magical world and the link he had to it, Johnny and his family assuming the odd things that happened to him were purely coincidental. He would often be followed around by unexplainable occurrences, such as the time he blew a two and a half foot bubble with his chewing gum when he was nine years old, or the time, at the even earlier age of four, when he had a tantrum and all the lights in the street went out, only to come back on again when he had calmed down. There was even one incident at school, where Johnny's teacher called on him in class, Johnny had been trying to avoid being noticed by her, as he had no idea what the answer was, and so her desk burst into flames, leaving him forgotten about as she tried to put out the freak fire.
Two and a half months before his eleventh birthday, Johnny received a letter with a curious wax seal on the envelope. Upon tearing it open, he found a piece of parchment inside, declaring that he was a "wizard", and he was to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from the first of September, and not the private school his parents had lined up for him. After much in-depth discussion, and weeks of dithering, his parents finally came to the conclusion that, given all of the strange things happening that seemed to be getting more and more frequent, it might be best for their only son - only child, for that matter - to attend this magical school. Maybe it would help him. Maybe it would make him stop having freak incidents every few weeks. Or maybe, just maybe it would teach him how to control these incidents, and make them occur at will.
The latter is what Johnny hoped for. Not because he wanted to be able to have power and do bad things with it, such as set people's belongings on fire, but because he thought it would be extremely useful and interesting to be able to perform magic. He picked things up quickly, and his enthusiasm for learning aided him greatly in catching up with the kids around the castle who had been surrounded by magic their whole lives. He was sorted into Slytherin House, simply because he has the kind of drive and cunning mind to get whatever he wants in life, and the hat told him he could really shine there, which appealed to him tremendously. He's not your typical Slytherin, though, and made friends from all houses thanks to his charming, versatile ways. He enjoyed his schooling immensely, and was disappointed when his final year came about and he knew he would have to leave the castle for good. The most incredible years of his life would be behind him, and that was a hard pill to swallow.
With good grades under his belt, Johnny didn't take long to fall onto the right path in life, and he got himself a job at the Magical Menagerie, eventually getting a position as an assistant to a magical veterinarian that worked for the shop. He took to learning all about animal healing like a duck to water, and eventually was able to leave his job at the Menagerie to be a full time veterinary assistant. The money isn't great at the moment, but he only has another six months of training before he is a fully qualified vet, himself, and he has every intention of opening his own surgery for magical animals and making a difference in the world. He couldn't be happier that he's managed to combine his intelligence with his love of animals, and the hard work he puts in is worth every second when he gets to see the poorly creatures he's helped in full health again. It's the best job in the world. Johnny lives in his own home, which he saved for for two years so that he could afford it himself without any help from his parents, and his future is looking pretty bright.
