Dorian led her in to where all the action was, which surprised Dorcas. She'd expected to need to drag him a little farther onto the dance floor but he seemed to be letting loose a little tonight and it meant that her night was getting off to a perfect start. "Just the ones I want to screw around with a little." Well he'd asked, and it wasn't limited to just men either but as much as she'd have enjoyed watching Dorian's features as that information sank in, she wasn't going to offer it up just for fun, besides, he might already know that she wasn't exactly limited to men. Sure she had a preference for the dimmer sex, but she wasn't limited to men only.
Dorcas started moving to the music and not too close to Dorian either. She stayed close enough that it was obvious they were dancing with one another but she chose not to smoosh her booty on up against him because honestly, dancing or not, there was a strong chance she'd try that later and she didn't want him bailing her birthday any time soon. She wasn't a terrible dancer but she wasn't one of those women that was being spun around in the middle of the dance floor, attracting some kind of magical spotlight while others either danced and pretended like it wasn't happening, or watched in awe of the magnificent dancer. Dorcas had no desires to move like that and she thought of the people that danced like that as show off bitches, apart from Tersha ... no wait, Tersha too, but she loved Tersha so that show off bitch was incredible to watch.

Dorcas smiled, tilting her head a little, fluttering her eyes in the most angelic way she could possibly muster in order to imply that normally she was such a good little angel. Of course it was far from the truth as Dorian well knew but that didn't matter. She was dressed as a devil because it was fun, the costume was crazy revealing and sparkly. The sparkles were the real reason she chose the costume. She felt cute in it too which was another good reason for choosing it, however she did feel cute in most things she wore because honestly, she was cute. "The next fancy dress do we go to, you can pick out my costume." She invited, it would be interesting to see what Dorian would put her in. Probably some high class, 18th century lady-lady dress with frills and petticoats and flowers and just all that grossness.
Someone else making a comment to Dorian about his fangs gave Dorcas cause to laugh. Of course someone had mentioned his fangs, and hopefully in a somewhat inappropriate manner too. Dorian was a straight up hotty and dressed as something that could give both pain and pleasure was just all kinds of arousing. He probably hadn't even realised what he'd done and once Tersha was here she'd probably try and eat him alive. Dorian was in for one hell of a night and if just her presence was enough for him, then tonight was going to be overwhelming because not only were her friends going to show an interest, there were plenty of other women out there too that were going to be up for hitting on the well formed auror.
"Sober Dorian promised sober Dorcas one dance. There's no telling how many dances drunk Dorcas will get drunk Dorian to agree to." She pointed out. She didn't doubt that she could get Dorian to agree to more than one dance, he often gave in because it was the path of least resistance and if he gave in with the little things then maybe she'd be less of a sod when it came to to bigger things, whatever they were, Dorcas hadn't really pushed the boundaries too far. She could have, she was sure, but there would only be genuine rejection there and that was no fun. "Come on." She said, finishing her drink and then taking his hand while placing her glass on the table, "Show me what sober Dorian's got for me." She stood up, her heels making her taller than usual but she was still small compared to Dorian. "Or we can just dance." she said with a wink and a smirk.

There. That slight twitch. That little sign that he had noticed and enjoyed her moment of internal conflict as she'd gone against her instinct. It was so subtle but it was as plain as the nose on his face. Voldemort was there, watching and sensing every little thing she allowed. Her instinct to draw her wand was something she hadn't expected, it was something that had jumped out yet she had controlled, but the man before her, well now he had a small tell and he let her see it. Perhaps he didn't think she would pick up on it, perhaps he didn't care if she did, but it was undeniable that he was very much aware of everything she was feeling, or at least what she was letting him and what came out in sudden bloody surprises, so she had to tread cautiously, she really had to guard herself well without being obvious about it, although she could practically feel the tension coming from Rodolphus' ballsack right now which was entirely amusing, although she'd have to wait until after her little dealing with the Dark Lord to fully enjoy it.
She listened as he spoke, her mouth curled into a rather satisfied and intrigued smirk as Voldemort spoke to her. Her connections at the ministry and in her life were rather useful to the Death Eaters, there was no denying that. She was in a rather good position for various tasks that could need undertaking at Lord Voldemort's command. "Exceedingly so." She bordered on arrogant but without a doubt she was confident and her voice carried that, along with an almost brazen expression across her face. She wasn't someone that was afraid to hold a conversation with someone. Be it her boss, the Minister, or evidently the Dark Lord.

There was an echo to everything. The sparse room really created quite the acoustic cove as Voldemort greeted her in such a way that some could consider warm. Dorcas however felt no such warmth, to her his words felt hollow and insincere, however she was willing to go along with the act he put on. If this was the guise he wore before his followers, and they in turn believed it, then they really were gullible pieces of shit. Dorcas had dealt with all manner of people in her line of work and she'd seen the faces of liars and while this man didn't give off any tells of lying, Dorcas was certain he felt he had better things he could be doing with his time, though really, who could pass up the chance to increase their army, even if it was only by one? Dorcas wasn't at all sure who the people were that were in the room with them, aside from Rodolphus, but she imagined it was most likely Voldemort's most trusted. An auror from a blood traitor family becoming a Death Eater was certainly unusual, she guessed. She couldn't imagine there were too many people happy with her presence amongst their ranks but they could just deal with it, one way or another.
Voldemort inspected the robes she wore then proceeded to remove her mask with a wave of his hand and it went against all of Dorcas' instincts not to pull her wand but she managed it. Pulling her wand out on the Dark Lord may have been a teeny bit dangerous, but in fairness it was trained into her to be a fairly standard response. She'd been an Auror for quite some time, those instincts were hard to suppress. At least he had something sensible to say, even if it sounded like a cheesy pick up line. Was this how he thought women wanted to be spoken to? Well maybe some women. She wouldn't have thought that Death Eater women would be into such charm but maybe they were, perhaps they lacked it in their lives so they fell for it hook, line, and sinker when presented with it by a fairly decent looking bloke. "Oh?" Her brow quirked, she knew that Rodolphus had spoken with Voldemort himself for had he not, she would not be in such a position right now, but just what they hell had they been speaking of? Tales of her beauty? Really? Did Rodolphus and Voldemort sit around, painting one another's nails, doing face masks, talking about girls they liked over cocktails or had Voldemort just enjoyed a leisurely meander of Rodolphus' mind? "Well I do aim to please, my Lord." She smirked a little coyly.

"Start the party early!? Why Mr. Humbert, are you implying that I may be some kind of lush?!" Dorcas stated, mock offended before she giggled, letting on she was only playing with him. She wasn't really any kind of alcoholic, sure she liked a few drinks here and there throughout the week, a little something special on occasions and most definitely a lot on a night out. Being held by Dorian felt so rigid and proper. There was nothing intimate to it at all and that disappointed Dorcas immensely. He could at least be a proper gentleman and grope her arse a little, it was her birthday after all! His comment on her costume earnt him a cheeky little grin with suggestive undertones. She didn't mind a compliment from Dorian, in fact she'd really quite like to encourage more of them but the dude was like a rock but with less emotions.
Dorcas lent back a little and looked over Dorian's costume. He had fangs and his usual sort of attire, splattered with a little blood. A Vampire was at least a costume that wasn't Batman, however it wasn't really a costume if he had everything in his wardrobe as everyday wear to begin with! The fangs and blood were a rather nice touch that definitely turned her on more than it should have, especially when he playfully chomped his teeth at her, showing his gleaming fangs, giving her an excuse to chuckle a little more before delving into what she was. "I'm a naughty little devil!" She said enthusiastically, wiggling a little on his lap, shimmying her shoulders a little.
Dorcas turned on Dorian's lap and stood up, grabbing her drink from the table that she put it down on before she joined Dorian on the sofa, sitting snuggly against him rather than on his lap, she needed to give him at least a little breathing space before she dragged him out on the dance floor. "You'll have to show me what you can do with those fangs later." She said, wiggling her brow a little and taking a sip of her drink. Being bitten by Dorian was a little bit of a fantasy. Being bitten by Dorian with fangs? Well that was definitely a new one to add to the list, unless he was really going to let loose tonight. "After you take me for a spin around the dance floor." She took another mouthful of her fancy drink, almost at the end of it.

Despite his long winded telling off, or what Dorcas considered long winded, concern still came through in Rodolphus' words and it was beginning to piss her off. His concern was frustrating and his feelings more so. If he couldn't control himself then she was going to have to get into the Death Eaters and ditch him. Surely it would be easy enough to do, just tell him she'd had enough and then that would be it. "Save your breath for someone that gives a shit." She came down heavy on the 'gives a shit', not caring what he had to say, not caring if Aurora would be left an orphan because honestly, Rodolphus would have brought it on the girl himself, it wasn't her doing if he got killed, even if it was directly her fault, the dumb arse shouldn't have been involved in stupid shit like this but then what would he even know about thinking for himself? He was trained as a kid to think one way and he never had the guts to question it because why would he? He was spoilt rotten, given all the money in the world and told he was perfect, why would he even begin to question that?
Rodolphus led the way down the stairs, Dorcas followed and watched angrily as the twat showed her the movement to go with the spell. Fucking child's play. Why he couldn't have let her in on tonight was a mystery. He was being a controlling wanker and no doubt enjoyed every second of it while she tried to brush it off, plotting revenge for another day. There was no way she was going to let him get away with tonight but she was not able to take her frustrations out on him now so she'd have to save it, tonight she had to be more focused than she'd ever been before in her life and so it made sense that tonight would be the night Rodolphus tested her patients, or perhaps it was just because there was everything on the line right now that she was more agitated by his ridiculous behaviour. Trying to protect her, what the hell was he even thinking? Stupid prick.
Dorcas nodded her head to Rodolphus and everything seemed to happen quite fast. First attempt at the spell and the Dark Mark launched from her wand and into the black sky. After a minute, possibly less, Dorcas was taken by Rodolphus to somewhere she wasn't sure of, feeling her heart skip a beat as she looked up at him and through to his black eyes from behind his mask. She told herself it was just from his hand grabbing her and the anticipation of apparating somewhere.
The air had a different feel to it than where they'd left. It was much fresher and free of the pollution one found in the muggles cities. Crisp air told Dorcas they were farther north than they had previously been or perhaps at a higher altitude. "Shut up, you wanker." She said affectionately. Her mood having changed and she had no idea why, she just assumed it was thanks to finally being within reach of a Dark Mark on her left forearm, all she had to do was keep her deep thoughts to herself, navigate Voldemort through her mind should he search. If she just kept her mind clear then there was the chance that Voldemort would know there was something the matter, if she could subtly guide him through her mind, just recalling the events of the night minus Rodolphus' help, then perhaps she'd get her dark mark without raising any suspicions.
Following Rodolphus through to the large house and then off through said house Dorcas stayed relatively close to him. She was within reaching distance of him at all times while she memorised the turns they were taking for if they were needed later in reverse. Rodolphus finally came to a halt at some doors and then opened them, walking her into a massive bloody room that looked as if it could fit far more people than it than it currently hosted. Dorcas supposed that this was the ballroom judging by the similarities to the ones she'd come across before. She kept her thoughts to a minimum, behaving herself because she knew she was to be the target of at least one legilimens attempt to infiltrate her mind. Thinking purely of thoughts of the evening, Dorcas came to a stop before the man she knew to be the one the Death Eaters all referred to as 'the Dark Lord' and she supposed she too would be calling him that from now on - if he thought her worthy enough to wear his mark. First things first, initiation. After that, well there was no telling yet how she might celebrate.

Post by Dorcas Amilie Meadowes on Nov 13, 2018 6:54:04 GMT
This year Dorcas was actually looking forward to her birthday. She always looked forward to her birthday but last year had been a little forced as she'd felt as though everyone had been thinking about Paris which had left her a little uncomfortable to celebrate without her cousin around, not that anyone could have guessed with Dorcas keeping her thoughts to herself and having extra fun playing with Dorian at dinner, Merlin the man made himself easy to torture. Admittedly she had thought of Paris all night long while out with her family but when she was home, trying to unwind from her night out, Rodolphus had visited and taken her off to America for the weekend. It had been a hell of time. They'd seen Queen live, got kicked out of the wild after party, gone shopping around New Orleans and even visited a few of the crappy touristy hot spots. Okay so Dorcas had loved every single second of it, even to the point that it was her happiest memory for when she needed her patronus. Seeing Rodolphus being manhandled by bouncers was a particular highlight she liked to recall. After a night she hadn't been sure she wanted but had gone along with anyway, Rodolphus had come along and made her forget about everything but having fun, allowing her to focus completely on herself, and him a little. He was a ridiculous arse but when it was a night like that, she could definitely get on board. Though of course the highlight in England had to of been the picture of his meat and veg that she now kept in her draw for shits and giggles, although she bloody hoped Aurora hadn't seen the sodding thing when she'd been rummaging through it for a bra to put on. Kids. They were still such a mystery to the Auror.
"I'm laaaaate!!" She said, running about her parents house. She'd had a fun afternoon with them and little Ariel who she'd dressed up as a chicken ... and then included a bit of blood, gore, and an alien bursting from her stomach once Dorian was off to get ready for the night. Dorcas headed back home to prepare for her night out but then returned to dress Ariel up properly for the evening with her parents, plus the birthday snuggles from the one year old were the absolute best. And on top of that, Ariel had loved her costume and her cuddles and all the treats Dorcas' parents had helped her find around the garden! Though naturally the one year old was rather fascinated with the Alien protruding from her stomach. She got to grab and play at it as much as she wanted. She even bent her head down to try and chew on the rubbery toy. Dorcas didn’t have time to stick around and put Ariel down for the night, she finished getting herself ready for the night.
"Bye! I love you!" She pecked her mum and dad on the cheeks and hurried out the door in her heels, knowing there was nothing she could do about being late now but she hurried a little nonetheless. Despite not being a girly sort of girl, Dorcas had always fond heels a breeze, even apparating in them, but after tonight this particular pair would probably be lost and she was fine with that - it just gave her an excellent excuse to go shoe shopping again. Dorcas intended to get drunk tonight so if only her shoes went missing by the end of the night it would be some kind of miracle. It was her birthday and she was going to let off a hell of a lot of steam and that would include dancing up against random people, snogging random people, and doing shots of tequila off of random people! Sure she'd have fun if she wasn’t drinking, but she'd have more fun drinking, and while she loved her birthday last year and what Rodolphus had done for her, she didn't fancy repeating the evening, not with him he was getting far too clingy and his daughter was becoming an issue. She didn't want to think about either of them tonight. Tonight she wanted a night with her friends and possibly groping Dorian's arse. Twice.
Appearing at the apparation spot closest to the club they were all meeting at tonight, Dorcas snuck her way to the front of the queue and was in pretty quickly. A lot of people were dressed up but being alone, attractive, and in next to no clothes on the cold autumn night she got herself noticed. Heck, she always got herself noticed when she wanted. Being in next to nothing had meant that Dorcas was let in rather fast but also that she'd had to make sure before getting dressed that she'd kept her new dark mark from view. She was accustomed to covering bruises, knowing all kinds of coverage spells for varying degrees of marks and bruises she was used to hiding over the years.
Once in the club she handed her sparkling red cloak over to the cloak room and took the little ticket with her cloak number on it. She looked about the club, knowing they were all arriving in their own time rather than meeting up beforehand but before she could spot anyone she felt a hand around her elbow and she looked to a very tall and bulky bloke. He’d definitely be attractive after a drink or five. He leant down and whispered in her ear. Dorcas nodded her head with a grin, twisting her body from side to side in a little excitement in understanding and when she was left she made a beeline for the bar, different coloured lights bouncing off the sequins of her costume but that didn't seem to unusual for the night, a lot of women were wearing sequins, and a fair few guys too. Half the wizarding population couldn't get muggle clothing right but they damn sure knew how to do Hallowe'en!
After her quick visit to the bar, Dorcas left with a couple of cocktails and made her way to a more private area that the bouncer had whispered to her about. Or told, it wasn’t really a whisper she just couldn’t fully hear him over the loud thumping of the music that was getting everyone in the mood to dance. Once at the private space, Dorcas sat her glass on the table and practically launched herself onto Dorian’s lap and wrapped her arms around him because fuck him, he could suffer a few hugs. "Happy birthday, to meee!" She said and then partially sang to him, leaning back and stretching her left leg out straight while making sure she held on to the crazy hot auror. Tonight was going to be fantastic and Dorcas was already enjoying her night. She wondered, as she sat up on Dorian properly, if there were any drinks that would get the stuffy hot auror semi-naked for the night. "What are you supposed to be!?" She asked over the music, although in fairness it wasn't as loud where they were as it was in the main part of the club. She'd certainly be dragging Dorian out on the dance floor soon enough.

If she didn't have a use for him then Dorcas would have dumped Rodolphus in a ditch somewhere. She'd have left him gagged and bound and come back for him the following day. He'd pissed her off, he'd risked her chances of becoming a Death Eater and she wanted to whack the dumb freaking arsehole across the back of the head and then proceed to push him down the stairs they'd just climbed. Unfortunately she didn't know where Voldemort was held up so she couldn't get herself there and she didn't have another Death Eater at hand to get her where she needed to go. "Not a chance." She'd had more than three attempts on her life and incidentally it was Rodolphus that had been the one to kill her and he hadn't even intended to, he'd just been too excited and got carried away. Typical. She should have seen his interfering coming. It was becoming hard to deny but he was definitely growing somewhat attached to her. She’d overlooked it when he’d brought her back to life and seen to it that she was looked after, he’d stayed with her the whole night, he’d even looked after her himself. He did that often when she was sick or not feeling 100%. What did she do when he was unwell? Fuck all. That was his business. When she was unwell? He’d sit and watch crappy TV with her until she fell asleep, he’d carry her to bed and tuck her in, he’d pointlessly see to it that her fridge was stocked with healthy foods. She ignored all the times he put forth some effort that hinted at him caring but he was really making it difficult to ignore now.
Rodolphus walked through the room, inspecting her handy work. Apart from the blood it wasn’t anything different to how she’d left a bedroom in his presence before. Dorcas looked at the bodies of those that had been in the Order with her. People that trusted her. Were they truly dead? Was this the end of them? Dorcas’ eyes followed Rodolphus’ feet, looking at the life source of the Anderssons just pooled on the ground. Rodolphus left bloody footprints around the room where he stepped and Dorcas’ eye was drawn to the fish that had given up on life. Would Dumbledore’s spell, if there was such a spell on the room that somehow prevented people from mundane deaths then would it stop the fish too? Dorcas wasn’t really an animal rights activist by any means, but she was curious about Dumbledore’s magic and, of the spell truly existed, she wanted to know more about it. It was a nifty bit of magic.
Following Rodolphus from the room she cleaned her shoes of any specks of blood or anything else that might be on them. She wanted no traces. Anything that could potentially lead back to her had to be gotten rid of - except Rodolphus, clearly. She listened to his advice with a small smirk, “My pretty little lip is the cornerstone of my charm.” Something that wasn’t exactly far from the truth but mostly people didn’t find her charming, just an arrogant bitch. At least those that did like her enjoyed her lip. Lord Voldemort probably wouldn’t be one of those people that got her, so it was probably safer to just fall in line. This was a deeply fear and deeply respected wizard after all, his followers bent over arse over tit in order to please him, the same would be expected of her.
Rodolphus almost confirmed to Dorcas that he knew what Voldemort was and that the best thing to do in the man’s presence was to keep a clear mind. Dorcas knew she could manage it, Rodolphus had no clue of what she was capable and she intended on keeping it that way. She didn’t need him knowing about her abilities. Her position at the ministry and her supposed wanted to see Voldemort’s plans come to full fruition would surely be enough to get her into the Death Eaters. It wasn’t as if you had to submit an entire resume or anything and really, she liked that there were a lot of things Rodolphus didn’t know about her. “Stop giving me advice. All this caring dragonshit is making me queasy.” She said, following a little way behind him and making her way downstairs and out of the front door to the cold night air where the temperature had jumped a couple of degrees while they’d been inside, apparently slaughtering the Anderssons.

Dorian was encouraging her to drink? What in the hell was going on? Dorcas fiddled with the front of her dress for a quick moment, straightening it out and then looking down the table, eyes searching for the bitch. Quickly her eyes settled on the bitch and Dorcas balled her fists. Her first instinct was always to smack the bitch, much like Tersha, but still being sober, Dorcas knew that was the shittest possible idea right now. Causing a scene in front of so many people, a lot of whom worked at the ministry or were from the tabloids, simply wasn't going to do. Instead of pouring herself a glass of wine, Dorcas grabbed the bottle and then the underside of Dorian's upper arm. "Up. Get up, we're leaving." She told him and she wasn't in the mood for any protesting either. She had enough sense to leave now before things got out of hand. If she stuck around and had a drink or two then there was no telling what she'd do to Vienna. Probably send a bees hive or something right at her face, Dorcas was pretty sure she was the one allergic to bees and wasps and clearly hurling a bees nest at her face in the middle of a busy gala was the best way to find out.
"You coming?" She asked Tersha, wondering if her feisty friend was going to stick around to smack Vienna or if she was going to let Dorcas get her home. Admittedly she was just going to grab the Knight bus, something that had been in Tersha's family for generations and that Dorcas insisted she never paid for. It had become an expectation of the drivers now that if she was hailing them, then there was a bed at the back of the third floor with her name on it. If she wasn't on board then often that bed was used by drunk couples to make out on and used to have a quicky while they were driven through the UK. Dorcas didn't mind so long as there were fresh sheets on it when she was on board, although tonight there'd be no using it because Dorian was a frigid little bitch really. A complete pussy tease. Dorcas didn't mind too much, so long as she got to stare at his arse as well as be a pain in it, then she might get a chance with him someday. Probably not. Maybe.

It took a little effort to pin the other witch down and while it was going on Dorcas heard Karl breathing heavily, she tracked his movements closely, waiting for him to come at her because although they were somewhat aware of the situation and aware that this was the best way for them to get away from their wanted status in the UK, naturally they had to fight back and really, they couldn't be sure that it was definitely Dorcas beneath the mask so she was expecting the worst of what they could throw at her. She was equipped enough to handle them both but just as she was about to punch Anna and take care of Karl, Rodolphus did something that pissed Dorcas off to no end. Dorcas silently clenched her jaw, swung a heavy punch at Anna and swiped her wand fast. The witch beneath her gasped and instantly grabbed at her own throat and blood started pouring between her fingers and covering the floor around her head. Dorcas just assumed Dumbledore knew what he was doing and and had the Anderssons protected. She had assumed before coming out tonight that he wasn't just offering them up as collateral damaged in order to get her into the Death Eaters. That she may not have been willing to go along with.
Standing, Dorcas whipped her wand, pinning Karl's hands beside him to stop him grabbing at his throat. Slicing her wand through the air in the same manor as when she'd cut Anna's throat, Dorcas looked at the deep cut and the fast flow of blood that came out. Karl continued trying to gasp but Dorcas didn't care, her head shot to Rodolphus, knowing Karl and Anna were either dying or experiencing the sensation of dying. Dorcas had no idea what the spell included or how it worked but at this point she was just doing as she was told, following orders to get what they needed - someone on the inside of the Death Eaters. "Don't ever touch my kills again." She said, angry that Rodolphus had dared interject himself into her business like that. Her mind, she hoped, was impenetrable to the Dark Lord. She could gently guide him to memories she allowed him to see and feel but others she kept secretly locked away, controlling everything that he saw, but she had no idea what Rodolphus was capable of. If Voldemort rummaged through his mind and found that Rodolphus had 'helped' her then could that cost her a place among the ranks of the Death Eaters? She hoped for Rodolphus' sake it did not because she'd hate to find out what she'd do to him if she didn't make it into the Death Eaters because he was a stupid dick.

Up the stairs and Dorcas looked one way and then towards the bedroom she believed the Anderssons to be in. She listened out, hearing the voices coming from the bedroom but more so listening for anyone else that might be present. There seemed to be silence everywhere else and so Dorcas continued on her path. Following the way to the bedroom she could hear the couple moving around and then the sound of mattress springs as someone either sat down or got into bed. Dorcas moved quietly, listening as much as she could until she heard the springs go again. They were either both in bed or they were both standing again but this was her chance to blast down the door and hopefully, keep them safe. Dorcas wasn't sure of what charms were placed on the house but supposedly there wasn't much that could actually kill this couple, but Dorcas had to make it look real enough without resorting to the unforgivable. Should be easy enough, right?
Giving herself some space from the doorway, Dorcas raised her wand, leaning back a little and then threw a spell at the wood door. The right half splintered away, completely shattering and handle flying off, flew into the window but did not break the glass. Shatterproof. No doubt a spell. The door had flown open, hit the doorstop behind it and closed again, although with no handle to keep it in place it lazily swung open and Dorcas made her way into the mess, the couple indeed in bed and scrambling for their wands. Dorcas flicked her wand, sending the bed flying onto its side, the mattress coming down over the couple and meeting the wall half way, creating a small alcove. First came Mr Andersson, throwing a spell that Dorcas dodged narrowly, leaning to the side as the jet of blue light whizzed past her and hit the door behind her. With another slash of her wand she moved the bed, the frame audibly dragging across the floor, crashing into the dresser where a little bowl sat with a gold fish that had been sleeping beneath the blue pebbles in the bottom. The bowl tumbled to the floor, smashing and throwing water, sparkly pebbles, and glass all over the room. The gold fish flapped around on the floor, suffocating as it tried to cling to life but Dorcas paid it no attention, instead she grabbed a large shard of glass from the broken bowl just as Mr Andersson came running out from his mattress shelter, tackled her to the ground, causing Dorcas to drop her wand while he shouted for his wife to run.
Dorcas balled her fist up tight and clocked Karl across the jaw. The lump fell off of her and Dorcas saw Anna running for the door. Grabbing her wand and leaving the glass, Dorcas scrambled to stand and sent a spell at Anna's feet, binding them together with rope. The witch fell and twisted herself around to face Dorcas. She raised her wand and Dorcas approached, the black robes handing perfectly off her tiny frame and the mask forgotten about by Dorcas for she had been concentrating on Anna and Karl. With a slash of her wand, Anna's wand went flying across the room, hitting the wall. Dorcas climbed on top of the wriggling witch, her wand raised while Karl gathered himself and grabbed the glass shard Dorcas had left behind, "Hold still," she said to Anna, adding a laugh onto the end of it because if she was selling it, she was going to sell it properly.

Measuring time in food was not a new concept to Dorcas. Rodolphus knew all too well that she wouldn't be going anywhere without having eaten and it didn't matter who demanded her presence, though she supposed if Voldemort himself was waiting for her then maybe she'd be a bit more punctual, but only a bit, she didn't want to give the bloke any hopes that he was better than a bag of greasy burgers. He may have been an all terrifying or whatever, but did he come above burgers? Well for now he did. He had to if she wanted in on the Death Eaters. Plus he was supposedly somewhat terrifying because he was apparently an incredible wizard, and even Dorcas' arrogance wasn't enough to let her think she could defeat him single handed, but she was trusting Dumbledore's judgement that she could use her occlumency to such a level that his legilimens abilities would not have her discovered and that was certainly something. Years of working on her skills with Dumbledore and here she was. No doubt this had been Dumbledore's plans from the beginning. He was a shrewd one.
It didn't surprise Dorcas that Rodolphus would have the safe house warded in one way or another. As much as he was a dickhead, he wasn't a stupid dickhead. He was actually very smart, smarter than her but she'd never admit that out loud. He was that type of arsehole everyone secretly hated yet loved, he was smug and for good reason. Not that Dorcas had ever really thought much about him during school. She'd only ever wanted to avoid him during that bit of her fifth year that he would make it clear that he wanted a little fun, and even then she'd "accidentally" cross his path and try and resist his lack of charm, but it never worked. She'd hated that she'd enjoyed the way he'd made her feel but it wasn't like anyone had ever known. Apart from Tersha close to his graduation. Or maybe after. It was so long ago now that Dorcas couldn't remember. Memories crossed into one another while others were so faint they were nearly gone. Nevertheless his graduation had not been the end of anything like she had thought it would be. No, his graduation was really only the beginning.
Food, floo, apparate, apparate, apparate, apparate. She knew the deal, Rodolphus was clearly forgetting what she did for a living and she made damn sure that he remembered. They were all over the place, going via busy magical communities so that their trails could easily be tangled up in those of others and then they were near the safe house. Dorcas was well unaware of the layout inside the safe house. She had made the choice of not knowing when Dumbledore offered her the opportunity. This had to be organic, natural. She couldn't go in knowing the layout but judging by the size of the place and the location, it seemed to be in a predominantly muggle community, she was willing to bet it was straight in to some stairs, lounge and dining room to the right, kitchen on through the back and upstairs was a bathroom and two bedrooms. It was an average little home in an average muggley neighbourhood. If there was more to the place than she expected then that was definitely a crap oversight on the purpose of the safe house, although perhaps that was how Dumbledore allowed the location to be leaked, perhaps there had been a surge of magical activity in a muggle neighbourhood where there ought not be any magic at all. Either way, she was better off not knowing the layout of the home.
Shouldering Rodolphus' hand away from her back Dorcas walked across the street, her eyes taking in the bedroom window where the couple had been. Back in the early days of her career she used to get butterflies. She'd be a little nervous over what was to come, but those days were long gone. What would happen would happen and Dorcas would come out of it alive, she always did and she always would. She was damned good at her job, one of the best, and it was a part of her life that she actually took seriously. That all transferred to this, to tonight, so as her eyes drank in the sight of the open front door and the bland brick exterior, Dorcas kept her training at the front of her mind, treating it mechanically, going through the motions.
Dorcas withdrew her wand. The mask was surprisingly more comfortable than she had expected but it was not something she cared for. If you had to hide behind a mask to make your point then you were a coward, in Dorcas' opinion. She'd much rather have to face Death Eaters face to face but they liked their anonymity, they cared too much about what people thought of them, more than they cared for their cause. Still here she was, trying to become one of them. Yay. "Wait here while I check downstairs." She told Rodolphus, knowing there probably wasn't anyone downstairs after they'd sighted the couple upstairs but she had to check. What if they had someone else with them, right?
In Dorcas went, quietly past Rodolphus and through to the lounge. It was empty and clear as she suspected and so she made her way through to the dining area and kitchen. The home was very similar to how she'd expected it but not exact. With a peek downstairs completed Dorcas made her way back out to the hallway. Quietly she started her way up the stairs, treading lightly, stepping gently. A stair squeaked and Dorcas paused for a second. She could hear the couple upstairs talking lightly with one another but she couldn't make out any words. Their sounds were muffled to the point that their bedroom door was closed, no doubt anticipating this evening, preparing themselves to "die".

There wasn't a lot of time and so Dorcas had to work fast. She was dressed and ready in record time and she zipped through the house, knowing it well enough for the fastest escapes possible. She was prepared for a lot, she'd been anticipating a night like this even though she had doubts creeping in that she was going to have to find another way into the Death Eaters before long. If that was the case then she'd have to go back to Dumbledore, call him a colossal wankjam and formulate a new plan, something that didn't involve Rodolphus. Thankfully that was not necessary for the stupid dick monster had decided to surprise her out of the blue, or what felt like out of the blue for her, for Rodolphus she imagined there was a bit of work involved. Whatever he'd been up to, and whatever anyone else might have been up to, she'd been behaving herself as much as she could. Now it was time to step out a little, pull off something that would get her busted if she was caught, but there was no way she'd get caught, her arrogance wouldn't allow it.
Once out of Rodolphus' home, Dorcas made her way to the closest point from which she could apparate. She had no idea how long she had before Rodolphus' return and so she had to act quickly. She left his estate, making her way to a new location and then another and another, she sent off her patronus, a little cat that leapt from her wand, and then she made her way back to Rodolphus' home via a few very quick stops. If there was anyone tracing her magic then hopefully it was enough to confuse them and have them lose track of her. It didn't seem likely that someone might be tailing her but in situations like this, you really couldn't be too careful.
Once back Dorcas made her way calmly back to the bedroom. She opened the bedroom window and lent against the window sill, looking out at the spectacular view. The gentle breeze gently caressed at her cheeks and blew at the loose wisps of hair around her face. She waited there for a couple of minutes, contemplating her task for this evening. She'd taken lives before but she'd always done it out of necessity, or by way of an accident. If you were going to fail then you may as well fail rather spectacularly and accidentally killing twelve out of the sixteen people in the building you were supposed to be helping arrest. At least they were all arseholes that the world was better off without so Dorcas had barely lost any sleep over it. The first few weeks had been rough but after having tortured herself and gone over their files enough, she decided she could love with herself and carry on with her job. It was the first big investigation into her during her career but it wasn't the last.
Dorcas was ready for the night ahead. Rodolphus entered the room and Dorcas turned about from the window, just in time to catch whatever it was he'd thrown. Whatever it it was it smelt amazing. Opening the bag she smirked, he knew her far too well and yet funnily, not well enough, at least that was an advantage for herself. Dorcas pulled out a hamburger and unwrapped it from it's packaging. She took a bite and chewed as Rodolphus complimented her with that look he had when she was in for one hell of a night of fun with him. She supposed he thought that would be exactly what this was so his reaction made sense. "Pic-yure uv sof-istica'ed grace." She said, mouthful of burger and not ashamed of it for a single second.
Dorcas swallowed her mouthful and held her burger and the bag in one hand, taking the picture from Rodolphus and looking at the couple she knew all too well. She liked the pair, they were decent people and Dorcas was pleased to see that their rumours had been followed, that their little trail was leading to tonight as planned by Dumbledore. How in the fuck did the old coot manage it? "It's Dumbledore - the scum at the bottom of the barrel is all he has." She said as an off handed comment. It was easy enough to bitch about Dumbledore really because half the time the saucy little minx deserved it. Wait, did she just call herself scum? Yes. Yes she did.
Rodolphus was clearly excited but to Dorcas it was work, or at least work like, plus she had a burger in her hand and she was pretty sure another in the bag, maybe some fries too. She wanted to eat! "I think I can handle all two of them." She said, a little smirk but her words sarcastic as hell, 'think' she could handle them? There were only two people there, two people would be no issue at all, she was an auror and while she'd never actually taken the time to get to know what Anna or Karl did, she knew that no matter what they didn't. they'd be no match for her. Though of course this was a set up and they weren't actually going to die, but no one knew that. Shh.
Rodolphus was trying his best to be sexy, bless him, but Dorcas' mind was elsewhere. Right now there were far more important things than thinking about sex and what they were going to do later because right now she was sexually satisfied a few times over and just hungry. When Rodolphus pulled away she bit into the burger, chewing purposefully at him and then swallowing her mouthful, "You're gonna have a hard time topping food." Sitting herself down on the stool-bench-whatever at the end of the bed, Dorcas carried on eating her burger as Rodolphus spoke. She set the greasy bag beside her, not caring if it made a mess of his little bench and looked up at him, her gaze following him as she ate and she crossed her right leg over her left. She did wait for a moment before she could talk without mashed up hamburger in her mouth though. "What time do we start?" She asked, taking yet another bite of her burger, wondering if her love of cheap food was holding anything up right now or if they were expected at a certain time.

"Bite me." She told him as he told her to call the cook. Call the sodding cook? That was not likely. And no cereal?! It was like he didn't even know her right now. Just because she was about to go out and potentially meet Voldemort, did not mean that cereal wouldn't do just an excellent job of sustaining her. But she would probably need food tonight. She couldn't very well have her stomach growling from hunger when possibly receiving a dark mark, though admittedly that'd be a fun story for Dumbledore over a glass of wine. Dorcas wondered what happened to followers that farted in Voldemort's presence. Did he find it disrespectful or did he just ignore it. It was pointless to wonder such things but it was daft little thoughts like that that made the evening ahead less daunting. She had a task ahead of her that might destroy just about anyone else, but keeping her thoughts on the bizarre stopped her from overthinking anything else. She needed to keep her mind void of emotions and thoughts, close herself off without raising suspicions. She had to deceive an accomplished legilimens. Dumbledore felt she was ready and so did she.
Searching the room for her wand, Dorcas found it while Rodolphus showered. Once she found it she used it to pull the robe out of the box and hung the robe in mid air, floating in front of her. It looked nice. Probably more expensive than all the other clothes that she owned. It made no difference to her how much an item of clothing cost, it was all going to get wrecked by Rodolphus or her job eventually. It made no sense to splurge on expensive items.
Once Rodolphus turned the shower off, Dorcas laid her new cloak on the messy bed. Her mask and gloves beside it she made her way towards the bathroom as Rodolphus got himself dressed. She took a moment to look at herself in the mirror before entering the bedroom once more, seeing Rodolphus all dressed and looking respectable. She smirked. It amused her how he fooled the world the way he did. "Okay." She said softly. She watched his arse as he left the room, shutting the bedroom door behind himself. Dorcas smirked again though it was more of a slanted smile, making her way into his ensuite and cleaning herself up in the shower, thinking of how Lord Voldemort must have been as much of a drama queen as Dumbledore - if not more. Honestly, who called themselves 'Lord'? What was he supposed to be Lord of exactly? Lord of the Flies? Lord of the Dance? Merlin she hoped it was fucking Lord of the sodding Dance, declaring to all that they should follow him to the dance. That would be truly spectacular.
After a quick wash and doing her hair in record time, Dorcas got out of the shower and just dried herself off with her towel and her hair with her wand. She fixed her hair as much as she was capable of without hours upon hours to sort it and she applied a little make up that she'd been keeping at Rodolphus' place. She brushed her teeth and then made her way out into the bedroom, shutting herself down from thoughts and feelings, there was no place for anything other than concentrating on what she had to do tonight. She got herself dressed and slid on the black robes Rodolphus had gotten her. She looked over the mask that would bring terror to many lives. There had been many masks, just like this one, that had destroyed families, hiding the faces of the cowards that donned them and now it was her turn to wear one and she felt nothing. Compartmentalising was a very useful talent.
