All this awkwardness was tearing at Elle. She wanted everything with Liam to just be normal. He was such an incredible guy, so funny, so honest, so genuine, that she wanted to at least be his friend, even if her feelings for him were so much more than that and his for her seemed to be similar. Elle lead the way back to the stairs and then down them. She had no idea where she was going but she took a turn and pulled open a door to a couple in a cupboard. “Oh! Oh my gosh. Sorry. So sorry!” She said shutting the door again on the couple, so glad that the pair were at least clothed. “Maybe this way.” She said to Liam, carrying on down the hall, opening a door to find a quiet and deserted office. It was so open and clear with such a romantic view of the lake. No! Not romantic, definitely not romantic. Platonic, very platonic. Views could most certainly be platonic.

Elle smiled and took a deep breath, glad that Liam agreed to talk to her. With any luck they could just have a chat and put any awkwardness behind them. This was a party, a place to have a good time, and it was silly that they couldn't enjoy themselves because of one another's presence, especially when they were so fond of each other. Elle followed Liam up the stairs and looked over his shoulder to the bathroom. "It wouldn't look too good if we came out of a bathroom together." She half-laughed, but it was true, it would look terribly suspicious and she'd feel completely awkward and this was already going to be awkward enough, "Perhaps we should find a room down stairs. They're less likely to be. bathroom or a bedroom." She chuckled but really she wanted to get away from the bedrooms. It wouldn't look good coming out of a bedroom, either.

Elle rounded the corner and found the stairs near to the entrance. She started making her way up, spotting an all too familiar face looking as though he would rather be just about anywhere else. Was it her? Was her mere presence causing him this much unrest? “Hey.” She said kind of timidly with a small smile. She didn’t want to scare him and she didn’t want to upset him anymore than she may have. “I just thought I’d come say ‘hi’ and see if maybe we could have a talk?” Just as the final word left her mouth she heard movement behind her. A couple hurried up the stairs hand in hand and Elle tried to flatten herself against the wall. Perhaps the stairs wasn’t the most private of places to talk, nor the most convenient.

Elle didn't have the best of luck, it seemed. She didn't mind talking to Geralina, not at all! In fact she was grateful of her colleagues presence, but just as she was trying to avoid looking at Liam, he got closer. Elle focused as hard as she could on geralina's face, trying not to break eye contact but the other witch glanced over towards the barbecue, leaving Elle's eyes to find another place to look and what did she find? Only the most incredible set of eyes passing her by. Her heart felt as though it had stopped for a moment and she looked back to Geralina, "Oh, um, a terrible blind date," She laughed, "a friend from school set me up with him, they work together. I fainted, he spilt juice all over me, ugh, just awful!" But it wasn't so bad now, it was a funny story and it cemented a great friendship. "Will you excuse me a moment? I'll be back in a bit." She smiled, leaving Geralina's company with every intent to return soon but she was just unable to get Liam out of her thoughts. It was awkward, but it shouldn't be, it wasn't as if there was anything wrong with being a friend of a married man, it wasn't as if they were having an affair, so why all the awkwardness? Oh right, because of the obvious attraction, yes, that. Well Elle thought, perhaps naively, that if they just had a chance to speak, however briefly right now, then they'd be able to clear the air and perhaps enjoy the party.

Elle was a little more relieved that she had someone at the party that she could chat to. Had Liam been there on his own then she probably would have said a few words to him, hung out a little and been far more relaxed, but seeing him there, with the gorgeous red head that just had to be his wife, had completely thrown Elle, so much so that now she was apologising to Geralina for having bumped into her. "I am, I'm fine. Oh Merlin, could you imagine if I wound up in the pool? That'd make for a great first impression." She laughed. Elle wasn't usually a klutz, she was around dangerous plants every day, she couldn't afford to be anything but vigilant, yet it seemed after being startled by light and a married man she had feelings for, that Elle wasn't all that graceful. "I didn't realise you knew Leo. What a small world."

Elle's blood was beginning to boil but she didn't want to cause a scene. She had to get back to the castle and she couldn't stick around to watch Tessa destroy her life again, but by Merlin, if Hannah got caught up in it at all, Elle wouldn't hesitate in taking her away from her mother until she sorted her life out again. Elle didn't think that it would come to that, but it was always somewhere in the back of her mind, not specifically this, but more along the lines of 'what if ...', Tess did have a history of going off the rails and while Elle had come back into her life again, Rufus was another matter. "I have to be going anyway." She snapped at Tessa. Elle bent down to a groggily waking Hannah, "Aunty Elle loves you darling," Elle kissed the top of Hannah's head and turned around, leaving Tessa to deal with whatever mess she had going on. A waking toddler, an excited dog and a twat ex-boyfriend was not a mess Elle needed to be getting into, so she left, walking away and avoiding the urge to flip the bird at Alaric.

Elle hadn't really known who to invite to Leo's barbecue and she just decided that she'd go alone. She was sure she'd know a few faces there and part of her was really hoping that Liam would be there, although there was another part of her mind that told her it would probably be for the best if he wasn't. This was a social gathering, a little get together for friends of Leo, she was sure that if Liam was there then his wife would be. Wife. That was still so strange to Elle. She was in love with a married man. It was just so unlike her. Still, there was a chance Liam and Chloe wouldn't be there and that was fine, Elle was looking forward to a lovely afternoon mingling and getting to know new people.
When she arrived at Leo's home, she stepped inside and looked about at the sterile decor. As she was looking about she saw Leo's back head upstairs and she supposed she'd have a chance to say hey to him later, in the meantime she'd have a little apple juice or something, and maybe get something to eat. This was a barbecue after all and the food smelt absolutely delicious. She wandered through the house and out to the back where the sun was shining brightly, reflecting off the pool and the lake, giving Elle a moment of absolute serenity until she saw Liam, with his wife. Elle turned to quickly look away and took a step, accidentally knocking in to tall glass of gorgeous, "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going." She said, hoping she didn't do any damage before realising it was Geralina and feeling an absolute sense of relief that she had someone she recognised at the party.

Azrielle couldn't believe that Alaric had the gall to be here, nor could she believe that Tessa was just wiping down the bar as though nothing was going on. The thought that Tessa had her take Hannah for the day so she could spend time with Alaric certainly crossed Elle's mind, but she pushed it aside quickly, hoping to Merlin that that wasn't the case. "I'm fairly certain this pub could do without your patronage." and it could, in fact it had done for quite some time, and Elle refused to see her sister fall down the same dark hole she had before, especially with Hannah around.

The man that Tessa was flirting with turned and called her Azzy. At first Elle didn't recognise him, it had been years since she'd seen him, but at the mention of that name, it all came flooding back. He looked much older than she thought he should have, and he was scruffier than she remembered, but it was Alaric, without a doubt. Her expression was no longer chipper as she looked to Tessa, mouth slightly agape. Elle had long since suspected that Alaric was actually Hannah's father, but Tessa would never talk about it, she was incredibly stubborn, but Elle had a feeling the truth would all pour out, much sooner than Tessa would like. "Al, hi." she said, slowly, looking down at Hannah, still fast asleep, "No," She said, not hearing Tessa telling her to come through, she was shocked at the presence of the man before her. "Just babysitting." She said, still slowly, "Forgive me, but what are you doing here?" She asked, she didn't want to jump in and embarrass Tessa, but the sight of the man that drove her sister deeper and deeper into darkness was not a welcome one for Elle, and she didn't care much if her sister got embarrassed or whatever, she had a few questions. Tessa had given her life meaning and this man was here to what? Drag her back down again? Elle would not stand for that.

Life as a Professor at Hogwarts usually meant you couldn't get away unless it was the Summer holidays or extreme emergencies. As it was, Elle had never had an emergency that had pulled her away from Hogwarts and she was usually happy with her days off during the summer or occasional weekend. Today was a day that she'd have usually spent at Hogwarts, being on hand in case one of her students had a question, but her students were all tied up with revision sessions for other lessons and Tessa had asked if she could have Hannah for the day. Elle had a couple of little things she needed for her plants that she could only get from a specialty shop in Diagon Alley so while there why not pop in a see her sister and spend some much needed time with her Hannah-Banana-Von-Bana! Hogwarts was amazing, but Elle did miss seeing her chubby-cheeked niece.
The day had been a rather typical spring day. A little rain that was chilly followed by some warm sunshine, but Elle was prepared for all weather with a nappy bag that ran deep and had at least five changes of clothes, plus a light jacket, a warm coat, a little cardigan and a few pairs of shoes. In Elle's defence, she didn't babysit Hannah a lot during the school year and they little tyke had grown so much that Elle had barely recognised her since their snuggles and Christmas. "Oh, clever girl." Elle smiled, sighing quietly at the sight of Hannah enjoying a little book that, once upon a time, Hannah would have just chewed the cardboard edges of, but today she had actually seemed interested in the colourful images, pawing her chubby hand at her favourite images, although it all seemed too much and she was drifting off into the land of nod. Elle figured this was probably the best time to return Hannah to Tessa. As much as Elle would have loved to spend the entire day and night with Hannah, she felt guilty about being too far away from her students for such a long amount of time when they might need her.
The contrast between outside in the sunny alley and stepping into the pub was huge. It took a moment for Elle's eyes to adjust to change in light. Blinking a couple of times, Elle then headed for the bar where she saw Tessa chatting to a customer, or was that flirting? With a customer? Well, whatever kept the patrons coming back, Elle supposed! "Hey," She said with a smile, looking awkward for interrupting her sister but she didn't want to just let herself on in to the bar, this was Tessa's little business, and while it had belonged to their parents, it was all Tessa's now and Elle would only treat it with absolute respect. Elle looked sideways at the scruffy looking guy with the floppy, dirty blonde hair and then quickly back to Tess, "I hope we're not interrupting anything." Although Elle had the distinct feeling that yes, she was actually interrupting right now and maybe she would have been better off just taking Hannah right through to the back.

PERSONALITY Boggart: Tessa being thrown in Azkaban. She's calmed down since being a mum but Elle still worries about her.
Mirror of Erised: Herself and Liam married with a home of their own and three children.
Patronus: Sea Eagle - Elle can't produce a patronus but her happiest memories are from her childhood and spending time with Liam.
The things you've got to understand about Azrielle is that she's honestly a gentle and giving person. She's quiet and observant and loves to help others. That's pretty much all she wants to do in life. After she graduated Hogwarts she had options - become a Healer, become a vet, or help her mum out at her shop. Being the family girl she is, Elle chose to help her mum in her shop. It's always been her dream to have a family of her own, but love has alluded her, or at least it had until recently. After all too many failed dates and short-lived romances, Elle came across an individual whose smile made her stomach flutter, whose touch made her heart leap. It's purely a friendship right now, but those longing gazes, those touches that linger all point Elle to believe that there is truly something there worth pursuing, however Liam Underwood is married and so a distance must be maintained, but Elle can feel herself caving yet there's no possible way she could ever stop seeing him. She reasons with herself that it's just friendship, but deep down she truly knows there's more to it than that. As lost as her love life is, her friendships are much more stable. She's loyal and forgiving, happy to go the extra mile for her loved ones ... and strangers. Elle can't help but be helpful! She's a giver!

Hello. My name's Elle, short for Azrielle, and I'm here to tell you a little about my life and who I am. I suppose we should start at the beginning. I was born to a pureblooded witch called Violent Abbott, formerly Hookum. Growing up she was the absolute best mother. So full of love and she taught me all I know about herbology and flowers. You see, it's her speciality being a florist and all. Dad was a pureblooded wizard called Quincy Abbott. He was a brilliant father. He owned the most famous wizarding pub in the whole of England - The Leaky Cauldron. I used to love running about there as a kid! There were always a lot of interesting characters but we weren't there often, mum wouldn't let us be there too often. I do remember dad having to throw a drunk old warlock out but that's about as dramatic as things ever got. Or at least as dramatic as I ever saw. When I was eleven I was off to Hogwarts where I was sorted into Hufflepuff! Just like Eeeeeveryone else in my family. The hat suggested Ravenclaw but back then I was just too timid and shy to be different. Mum, Dad, Ruf and Tess were all Hufflepuff, my grandparents were Hufflepuff, it just seemed wrong for me to be anywhere else. The sorting hat was really understanding and put me in Hufflepuff and that was that. I guess Hufflepuff suited me quite well. I made friends so easy there and I loved the common room. Tess was hitting her rebellious streak but she always kept a look-out for me. Once a boy called me 'ugly' and she just punched him in the face. It was awful. I was so worried that Tess was going to get into trouble, but she didn't. She even cheered me up by showing me to the kitchens. The house elves were so good to us and about three glasses of milk and countless chocolate chip cookies later I was ready to return to the common room. There are a lot of moments like that through my Hogwarts years and I'll always be in debt to Tess for helping me get through those first few years. Herbology and Care of Magical Creatures were my favourite lessons. I was so good at it, too. I knew everything and there was nothing that could stump me in Herbology and Care of Magical Creatures was just instinctual, as was Potions, really. That was another lesson I was good at. Actually, thinking on it - and I truly don't mean to brag, not in the slightest - I was actually pretty good at all my subjects. I struggled here and there but on the whole I was achieving some wonderful grades. Mum and dad were always telling me how proud they were of me. After Hogwarts I went to work with mum for a few years. I loved working in the shop and mum said that one day she wanted me to have the business. I can remember it like it was yesterday. The smell of the amaryllis was over powering, they'd just come in and a cool breeze was pushing the pollen through the shop. The wind chimes clanged out of tune and the tulips were beginning to wilt. Walls and buckets of flowers surrounded us and it was so beautiful, but I remember feeling like that wasn't the place for me. As much as I loved working with my mum, I didn't want the business for my own. I told mum how I felt and worried she might be a little disappointed, but she wasn't, not at all. Not long after I found a job teaching Herbology at Hogwarts and I've been here ever since! I adore teaching and think of myself as very lucky. OOC Play By: Ginnifer Goodwin Your Alias: Coco!
