"Heaps!" He grinned, more enthusiastic about his work than anything they'd seen or talked about before now, showing a completely different side of himself. "My boss is retiring next year so I'm hoping to get a promotion." he said, a littletoo smug about it, walking by paintings without even glancing at them anymore, almost losing sight of what he was doing. He wasn't here on a date with some random woman, this was a woman he was supposed to be wooing a little so that they could be married within six months. If she didn't like him then he was screwed, "But my work isn't to everyone's tastes," He said, shrugging, trying to reign himself back in, his mum would kill him if he screwed this up. "Do you like Quidditch?" He asked before he looked to a picture that looked boring as hell with not a lot of colour. Jake liked the ones with colour, they were more uplifting than the depressing stuff.

"I work in the Ministry," He said, escorting Amy into the next room or building, or whatever they were walking into. "I work in the Magical Department of Games and Sports, specifically setting up the Quidditch matches between the British and Irish teams, making sure everything is regulation, excetera." He was quite proud of his job, although he would never be able to explain why, but he enjoyed it, so to him that was all that really mattered, that and the pay was brilliant. "It's tough work sometimes, but it has a lot of perks. I get some of the best seats." He boasted, everyone loved Quidditch and women were usually impressed by what amazing seats he got them on dates and such, or perhaps it was being able to meet some of the players after that they liked? Either way, an impressed woman meant that he'd scored more than just good quidditch seats.

Was that pity? Her tone seemed as though she was pitying him and Jacob didn't like that at all. He'd have to do something later to prove his manliness because he couldn't have her thinking less of him. Perhaps he could lift a stone bench or something heavy that didn't seem as though it wouldn't be liftable because honestly, he needed to get her adoring him, not pitying. His mother would smack his arse if he came home and all he got was damned pity. He pushed out a laugh as Amelia tried to be humorous but honestly, Jake thought this was all shit, especially after the pity. He'd have to take her for food and wow her by ordering the most expensive thing on the menu. Flashing money was another good way of getting back some of his damaged ego. He carried on with Amelia, deciding he'd curse his mother later for sending him on a date to an art museum with an art seller lady, or whatever it was she did. "Shall we?" He said, extending his hand in the direction of the next bloody room. What would it be this time? Old women? Old naked women? Old naked women sitting on animals? Art was bloody weird, man.

What. The. Fuck. Jake was trying his hardest to remain engaged in the conversations and Amelia's telling of the pieces but it was so hard. He 'hmm'ed when he thought appropriate, he nodded his head and even threw out a "Yes, yes, I see." And "Wow, you really know your pieces," in the hopes that complimenting her would keep her talking so that he wouldn't have to think all that much on the art, but it happened, they were in another area and he was being asked his opinion and he pulled anything he could out of his arse based on what he saw and what he'd heard other's saying, "Me?" He said, his brow raised, "You're the expert," he chuckled, "But I'll give it a go." He looked the piece over again, hoping to take in more of what he was seeing but it was just the same as before. It was big so he knew that meant they had been rich, and the colours were dark but the boy was normal looking he supposed, although definitely serious looking, would it have hurt to crack a damn smile back then? "It convey's a rather sombre tone. While the family was wealthy judging by the size of the portrait and clothing on the boy, it gives me a cold feeling, one of loss." That was it, that was all he could manage, "Sorry," he apologised to Amy, "I don't often read too much into art, I just appreciate what's there, also the talent that goes into it all." He hoped a cute apology would make up for him knowing jack-shit, especially if it was coming across as knowing bugger all about the portrait, although if he was getting anything right, he hoped this would end in a total shag-fest.

So Amy was shit at art stuff but still liked it anyway so sold it? Seemed pretty straight forward to Jake although he'd not say any of that to anyone because knowing himself the way he did, Jake knew he'd probably blurt it out to someone and it would get back to his potential fiancee. Potential fiancee that was probably second most attractive, he thought as he looked her over. His eyes lingered on her face to see if she was looking at the artwork intently or if she was just pretending to like all this crap, but it seemed like she was genuine. Good for her. His wife would need a hobby and collecting good arts and shit would make him look good. "Breathtaking." He said quietly, following her lead, not having looked at the painting because he couldn't really give a shit, he was still looking at Amelia but figured he should check out the dollops of paint on canvas or whatever, so turned his head to look at the piece, unimpressed but hey, if she liked it then he'd pretend to too.

That sounded boring as hell, "That sounds like fulfilling work." He smiled, "Do you enjoy it?" If Amelia proved to be the chatty type then he was in for an easy date, one where he could let her take the lead on all this boring nonsense and get to know about her, not that it really mattered what she was like but he could behave well enough in her presence until they were wed and then he could just be himself after that, or maybe not until they'd conceived his first heir, he needed an heir and he didn't want his personality acting as birth control. It was one thing to get engaged, another to get married and yet he'd struggled to get that far, Merlin only knew if there would be difficulties and hurdles to overcome in getting the redhead knocked up after the nuptials.

Before the war? Which war? Oh crap. So this was old stuff too? Well at least his date looked happy about heading this way, so that was a bonus at least. He even felt relief at her genuine interest in what they were heading in to, "Wow, so you know a lot about this sort of thing then?" He asked, hoping she'd talk so much that he could just stay quiet on the whole subject. She sounded pretty passionate about it so maybe she would just talk and talk. He knew how to be vague and agree. He knew how to disagree without needing to put forth much of a point as to why he thought such a thing. On the whole, Jake was exceptionally talented at being completely fake.

Photo-re-al-li-ism? Phot-or-eal-ism? How the shit was the supposed to be pronounced. Jake chuckled at Amelia, "You're too sweet." Although he knew he looked damn fine in his mother's choice of clothing for him this afternoon, Jake was too busy trying to figure out how to say that word that he was most unfamiliar with. At least that other one he could say, "Would you mind a stroll about the Modern Expressionism?" He asked, as well as being an easy one for him to pronounce he was hoping that because it was 'modern' there might be something cool in there that he'd actually like. If he wasn't able to scratch his arse soon he was just going to bloody grab it. He felt as though his eyes might start watering soon and there was no way he was going to cry in front of some chick he'd just met.

"Don't pick your ears, don't put your finger up your nose, don't scratch your bottom, don't burp. Treat her like a lady, be respectful, blah blah blah." His mum had gone on and on at him before he'd gone on the date and it was just stuck in his mind, mostly because he really did need to scratch his arse. It was getting to the point where a mild itch was becoming a stabbing pain. Maybe as they went into the exhibit he could rub his arse up against the wall, making it seem as though he was letting someone past or giving Amelia space to walk through. "Yeah, it's pretty nice here." Actually he couldn't be faffed with the place but his mum had told him it would be a lovely place to take Amelia. She was into art or something boring, Jake had stopped paying attention. "You look like a piece of art yourself." He said, walking her towards the exhibit, past the line that was there because there was no way he was going to queue for something that was going to bore the shit out of him, "That shade of green really compliments you." He'd at least learnt more than just the standard 'you look lovely' or 'nice dress'. He'd very much been like that with his first fiancee and he supposed that now he was on number four he was definitely having to up his game quite tremendously. Now he just had to keep an eye out for something he could scratch his arse up against.

Jake took Amy's hand and bent his head, giving her a kiss. He lifted his head up, smiling, before he let go of her hand. "Just call me Jake," He told her, "'Jacob' is what my mother calls me when I'm in trouble." He laughed. "I've got the tickets so," He offered her his arm, "Shall we head on in?" Perhaps he was being a bit too forward with this one. She was nine years younger than him and that was the biggest age difference he'd had in a fiancee thus far, he didn't know how she'd feel about all this arm offering business but in Jake's opinion it was better to just get on with things rather than to stand awkwardly next to one another while going through the exhibits, having awkward conversations about your personal life that really you never actually wanted to share all that much about in the first place. Arranged marriages were weird but they worked. His family line was pure and strong and so, he'd heard, was the Greengrass line. The Bulstrode and the Greengrass lines coming together at long last would be a good thing, he'd been told, and Jake had no reason to think other wise.

Jake sat on a bench just inside of the Museum, tickets in the breast pocket of his jacket. His right leg over the top of his left, as he picked at a little ball of fluff that was coming off of his jacket. The thing was next to brand new. How was it possibly bobbling away already? He frowned as he kept picking at it, wondering when this Amelia person would get here. He'd been told he'd seen her before but honestly he couldn't remember. He could remember her older sister, though. Blonde, slim, elegant. The type of woman you wanted to screw face to face. He supposed if her sister was an uggo he could just bend her over and do her from behind, but he hoped that wouldn't be an issue. With any luck she'd be even hotter than her big sister and Jake could show her off at all the events, making all the other blokes jealous of his future wife.
Having had a run down from his mum on this girl, Jake already knew everything she was going to tell him about their first meeting, after all he had been through her talk three other times, and as it had been in the past, so it was today. His father told him to listen to his mother and to do them proud. He seemed to be eager for Jake to finally lock a girl down, and honestly, after three messed up engagements Jake was ready to actually have a wife. He supposed that was why they'd gone to the Greengrasses. Good, pure family, many daughters to marry off, and their reward for agreeing to marry off a daughter to Jake? Well he was the heir. They would know that the family fortune was going to Jake and so their daughter would be well taken care of financially. Their daughter wasn't the first born and they had quite a few more so chances of them all getting married off was slim. This engagement was a way of balance for both the families and it would make a great union, at least that was what Jake had been told. Or maybe something like that. Honestly, he hadn't paid too much attention.
Looking up and uncrossing his feet, Jake stood up and straighten his jacket. His mum had drilled into him four times now how appearances were everything. She'd also made sure he knew to make conversations about her, not to be a twat, although that wasn't exactly how she phrased it, it was the point she was trying to get across. So waiting for this girl - sorry, young woman - Jake looked about, lips pouted in boredom, ignoring the brunette in the tight top and mini-skirt over to the right that didn't seem to realise that it was still winter.

PERSONALITY Boggart: The dark. He's absolutely petrified of the dark. The boggart just surrounds him in darkness. He can see to the tips of his fingers but that's all.
Mirror of Erised: You sure you want to know that? It's not pretty. Naked chicks, dead bodies. The usual.
Patronus: He cannot produce a patronus. His happiest memories are all a blur because he's happiest when he's wasted.
Self centred, bit of a wanker and a total bully. Jake loves to cause pain, he finds it humorous and entertaining to just watch something struggle for life. It's no wonder that he went on to become a Death Eater after he graduated Hogwarts. It's just as well because really he'd have next to no friends, at least with the death eaters people are forced to include him in things, also because he's the heir of Bulstrode he's invited to all those high fancy whatever gatherings, although he'd rather skip most of them, it has been drilled into him by his parents that he has to attend those boring things. At least most of them have some kind fo after party that he can get wasted at. Thankfully Jake is an uncoordinated drunk meaning that when he starts a fight, he's easy to topple over. Sober his punch really hits hard, drunk? He'd be lucky to knock out a butterfly. Thankfully Jake isn't aggressive all that much when drunk, he's actually quite a happy drunk, willing to give people all the chances in the world, certain people can change. His body has scored him a few girls over the years but he's never had a lasting relationship because, let's face it, who the hell wants to be with this troll? Thankfully he has had a few engagements lined up for him, however three have fallen through, so will he ever get married? He hopes so. He liked the idea of having a wife that has to screw his brains out in order to try and produce as many kids as possible. At least he's good at rocking a girls world, that's about the only area of his life where he's actually pretty giving and good at what he does. Every other aspect of his life he is selfish but ... well there are no buts, he's not a great person.

Loving isn't exactly what Jake would have called his childhood. His father was stern and even occasionally abusive and his mother was a bit of a snooty cow, to be fair. Jake rarely had anything to do with his parents, raised by a nanny and tutors that taught him how he had to behave. He was the eldest child and a son, you would have thought that meant his parents would have adorned him with love and attention, but no. It didn't matter to Jake, he was content starting fires, burning ants and trying to jump on rabbits that he was able to paralyse with his magic. Yes, he was content with killing things, finding great amusement in it, in fact. Jake had brothers and sisters come along but he always found he got on better with the older kids. He was the eldest of his family and expected to be a leader but somehow he was always a follower. If he ever got into trouble it was because he'd followed someone else's directions. Never having really thought much for himself Jake didn't care for consequences, as in he gave zero shits and learnt absolutely nothing, even from a belt whipping from his dad. Hogwarts gave Jake a sense of freedom he'd never had before, especially given his house of Slytherin. He was wild, annoying and loud. He misbehaved in lessons and was often in detention. He was a jerk and a bully and never really grew out of it. Once a girl refuse to go to a dance with him so he killed her cat. He was constantly in fights and he was proud to say he won most of them. Jake graduated Hogwarts and was arranged to marry a pureblooded woman only she was disgusting and ugly and smelt like a pig so Jake demanded a new bride. Another was found but she met an untimely death, something Jake was surprisingly not involved with. His third fiancee was Regina Malfoy. She was beautiful, talented and he'd be able to shag plenty of chicks while she was away on her tours or whatever, so it'd be great, but then she ran off with the bloody Black bloodtraitor and so Jake was once again on the market. In that time his slightly younger brother married and had a daughter, a thuggy looking brat that Jake is all too willing to state looks like her father, pig nose and all. He's now engaged to Amelia Greengrass. A brand new decision with a date set for the summer. Jake's parents don't seem to want him waiting around for too long, he's already lost three fiancees one way or another, and they're not fond of losing a fourth.
