It's about time for my arrival Beau grinned at Miss Chase's sassiness. He liked sass. "Lady, you are not wrong," he told her, acknowledging how fabulous she was. "Own it." She was a sex goddess and there was no denying it. If he'd been into women she would have been high on his list of interests. Alas, he liked men. Beautiful, muscled, well hung men who he could boss around. There were none of those in the castle, unfortunately, and Beau could see himself spending his days surrounded by beautiful women, drinking his sorrows away in pubs until he quit his job and went back to the showbiz life full time. "I'll hook us up," he promised her, heading down the corridor and leaving her to her books. He turned the corner and hopped over a puddle that had formed when some idiot had tried and failed the simple task of carrying a drink down a hallway. His coat swished behind him, thoughts on his plans for the evening, and just how wrong they could go. He wasn't sure whether to dread it or look forward to it. _______________________ tag: Cambria Josephine Chase words: 207 notes: <3 outfit: Extra. template by izzy[googlefont="Sacramento"][googlefont="Cinzel Decorative"]

It's about time for my arrival Hildenburn came right on cue, legging it as fast as he could around the corner, his robes flying behind him. Valentine merely gave him a bored look until Miss Chase barked a warning at the lad and nearly made Valentine jump out of his fur coat. "Whew," he whistled, giving her a wide eyed but impressed look. "The lady knows how to put her foot down." Hildenburn seemed to agree, and he slowed to a walk and gave them a sheepish look as he passed. Valentine knew that he was going to break into a run again as soon as he was out of sight, but it was no bother to him. He had prevented one minor disaster for the day, he was ready to move on. Only now he was being invited for drinks later. So much for staying out of people's way at the castle. He looked Miss Chase over. She seemed nice enough, though everyone could seem nice if they really wanted to. "I'll arrange a private booth," he said with a nod. "I don't walk through Hogsmeade without being accosted by starry eyed fans." Valentine couldn't walk down any street without being accosted by fans, let alone sit undisturbed in a pub for a few drinks with a colleague. Or ten colleagues, Merlin knew who else she would invite for drinks tonight. _______________________ tag: Cambria Josephine Chase words: 251 notes: <3 outfit: Extra. template by izzy[googlefont="Sacramento"][googlefont="Cinzel Decorative"]

It's about time for my arrival Miss Chase boldly questioned him about his abilities and Valentine raised one perfectly groomed eyebrow. "Nosy, aren't we," he replied, eyes flashing playfully. He moved closer to the wall to let other students pass, figuring he might as well wait for Hildenburn to run through before carrying on with his lunch hour. "I never used to be able to control it," he said, remembering a time when visions would hit him like a train, coming out of nowhere. That wasn't pleasant and it lasted for many years before he was strong enough to take the reins. Or brave enough to even want to try. "I can never switch it off, unfortunately, but I can see things when I choose now, as well. It took a while to master." And many nose bleeds and splitting headaches. He gave her a suspicious sideways glance. "Why?" Was she asking out of curiosity, or did she, like most other people, want something from him and his talent? _______________________ tag: Cambria Josephine Chase words: 188 notes: <3 outfit: Extra. template by izzy[googlefont="Sacramento"][googlefont="Cinzel Decorative"]

It's about time for my arrival Valentine enjoyed the cold winters at Hogwarts, if only for the fact that he was able to wear ridiculously expensive and beautiful fur coats and cloaks to keep him warm, and nobody batted an eyelid. He got looks for his taste in clothing most days, but people were used to him being extravagant and flamboyant. He lived on the stage, he was supposed to stand out and be seen. It had taken a bit of adjusting when he had taken the job offer back in September; students weren't giving him as many funny looks now as they had done six months ago. Some of them had been a little bit scared of him, others awed by his fame and sheer presence in the castle. Valentine stuck by his original claims that he didn't really want to be there. He was no Professor. Dumbledore had basically emotionally blackmailed him into the position by being powerful and generally awesome, and he had stroked Valentine's ego enough that he had agreed despite his doubts. He was a seer, he was fit for the position, but teaching teenagers? Come on. It was going alright. He didn't believe a single one of his students had the sight, but that wasn't what he was there for, he was there to teach them how to read tea leaves, and crystal balls, and other mumbo jumbo that had nothing to do with him. Oh, he knew the craft, he knew it well, but it was tedious teaching the parts he didn't hold any stock in. Next month he had an entire thirty one day plan for the kids to predict their own daily horoscopes based off of the stars. He had gotten Professor Rayne on board - he'd sold his soul and half of his finest alcoholic possessions to do so - and he was pretty sure every single one of his students now hated him since he had revealed the project to them a few days ago. Valentine, himself, was an Aries, and he predicted without looking at a single constellation that the entire month of March would hold a lot of turmoil and teenage whinging for him. With a flurry of drunken nights, and some cracking headaches to boot. He sauntered down the second floor corridor, planning to have lunch on his own rather than sitting like a spectacle in the Great Hall. His fur cloak flew behind him, his hair was perfect, and the vision that hit him of a student sprinting into a load of levitating books made sense when he turned a corner and saw one of the librarians transporting three piles of tomes down the corridor. "I would stop and put those down for the next minute and a half if I were you," he said casually as he approached. "Graham Hildenburn is about to come bolting around that corner." He pointed behind Miss Chase and paused, waiting for the inevitable sound of running footsteps. _______________________ tag: Cambria Josephine Chase words: 516 notes: <3 outfit: Extra. template by izzy[googlefont="Sacramento"][googlefont="Cinzel Decorative"]

PERSONALITY Boggart: Himself. Plain, normal, boring. Stripped of everything that Valentine thinks makes him shine. Stripped of fame. Stripped of talent. Stripped of adoration. Nothing. He is nothing. Just Beau. Mirror of Erised: His visions gone. They have always scared him. Yes, he uses them to his advantage and makes money off of them, but in truth, they frighten him, and he would prefer not to have them. To be free of them is the ultimate unattainable dream. Patronus: Peacock - Valentine's happiest memories consist of being on stage. There is no one particular instance of this, but just a general montage of that feeling he gets when the crowd is cheering his name. He feels invincible, like a God.
Beau - as only his closest friends and family call him - is a diva. A straight up diva. He is larger than life, and owns it, and don't ever try to bring him down because he will take you down with him. Flamboyant, gregarious, confident, bold, attention-lover (not seeker). He was a Gryffindor at school, and rightfully so, there is nowhere else he would have fitted. He is hard to miss, harder to ignore, and why would you want to when he's so darn entertaining!? He has an amazing sense of humour that usually involves strong bitchy undertones, but he loves to laugh. He is a showman first and foremost, and though he is deeply ensconced in the clairvoyant world, he considers himself a performer above all else.
He's a fun friend, but not a great friend. He will ditch you if he thinks you're no longer a fan. Supportive friends are a must for him, and though he doesn't ever try and force people to like him, if you don't big him up like you used to, he will lose interest an find new friends who will give him a boost. There are a few that slip through the cracks, a few that he just can't get rid of and wouldn't be able to survive without. Those are the people who see the stripped down version of him, the version Beau doesn't like anyone to see. He treasures those people, and they mean more to him than he is willing to admit.
Being openly gay his entire life, Beau is promiscuous to the extreme. He has a lifestyle that supports it, going to parties multiple times a week, always having someone to visit or travel the world with, he never lacks opportunity to sleep around and have fun. He has never thought about whether he wants a family or not. He doesn't think he's cut out for it, to be honest, but then he also knows that sometimes life throws things at you because the universe knows you can handle it. It's still not something he's actively searching for. Nor is love, really. He's happy to keep having fun, and if the right man came along to handle his bold ways, then so be it.
You don't want to get on the wrong side of Beau, he has a mighty temper on him, and when he kicks off it's like a toddler on turbo. He can throw a tantrum like no other, and he is very short tempered. It doesn't take much to irritate him. His tea is cold? He will flip. Someone gave him a dirty look? He'll come for you all guns blazing. Wake him up to early? WTF is wrong with you!? He doesn't hold grudges, though, and he is very changeable, so even if he hates you today, he might not tomorrow. He's a fickle one, but he has thrown kettles at people's heads before so just be on your guard if you have something unsavoury to talk to him about.
HISTORY Mother: Lestia Valentine, 53, pureblood, Slytherin Alumna Father: Cerberus Valentine, 55, pureblood, Gryffindor Alumni Siblings: Vivian Valentine, 31, pureblood, Slytherin Alumna Partners: None Others: N/A
Beau Valentine, absolutely stunning baby boy of Cerberus and Lestia, a pureblood couple who already had a daughter but prayed for a son. They knew he was gay when he was only small. He wore his sisters clothes and played with her toys, and would bust into his mother's makeup and do himself up like a doll. And he was happy. He would sing - oh, how he sang like an angel - and he would dance and put on shows for his family every day of his little life, and he was bloody good at it! They had a little superstar on their hands, and honestly, they were proud, and there was still the hope that he wouldn't be gay. Lord knew they needed him to carry on the family name, but the odds were looking slim. They loved him anyway, and nurtured his passions.
Beau had another side to him that they didn't nurture, however. He had visions. He saw things, future events, however big or small, that would always come to pass exactly how he had envisioned. It scared them, and it scared him. He didn't like seeing bad things. Good things were fun, but the bad stuff, well, he was only a boy, he shouldn't be seeing such things. His parents had pushed him into the world of showbiz at such a young age. He had a manger and other people who were rocketing his career skywards when he was just a kid. Beau's manager latched on to these visions and kept them in his pocket for future use.
Beau went to Hogwarts, sorted into Gryffindor, and on every holiday, he would work his perfect arse off, singing and doing small shows. He was gaining a name out there for being a very talented kid, and he loved how it felt. His peers didn't cotton on to it until he was in hit sixth year and had gained a bit more of a following, then his school life changed a bit. For the worse. He was tormented by muggleborns for being gay anyway, but now he was tormented for his beautiful voice, his love of dancing, and his attempts at being a star. He couldn't wait to leave. He graduated with decent grades on his parents insistence that he still take his education seriously, and then he was launched into the world as "Valentine".
He was a superstar. His career took off and he never looked back. His manager used his power as a Seer to make more money, telling the world that Valentine was gifted by the Gods, he could see the future and communicate with the dead, and so he not only ended up doing concerts, but also filled out theatres doing readings in front of a crowd. It was all fake. He couldn't control when he got a vision, he never had been able to, but pretending to do it for a crowd who were willing to pay copious amounts of money was easy. He was a performer, he could pull anything off. Including being a conman. He could talk to the dead, though he didn't like doing it. His genuine powers still scared him, and he took them very seriously.
The whole world loved Valentine, and Beau slowly disappeared, his normal self being eaten up by his showbiz persona, with only a few select people having access to the boy that was buried beneath. He only goes by Valentine now, and the first person to call him Beau - aside from his family - appeared at his door just a week ago. Albus Dumbledore. Valentine was surprised to see him, but he already knew what the visit would be about. He had Seen it. Many years ago, he had watched this visit play out in his head. Dumbledore told him that Professor Trelawney had been killed, and Hogwarts was in need of a new Divination Professor. Dumbledore didn't want just anyone to fill the position. He wanted someone with a real gift, someone who understood the craft.
"I know you like to do all of this Hocus Pocus for the crowds," Dumbledore told him, a knowing look in his eye. "But you have real talent, my boy. I remember what you can do." Of course he remembered. Valentine's visions had been out of control at school, Dumbledore had helped him immensely. And now it was time to pay for that help. He couldn't refuse. Flamboyant princess or not, Valentine knows he would be the right person for the role, and refusing to help Albus Dumbledore when he requested you, specifically, well, that wouldn't be a wise move. And so Valentine, superstar, rock star, Seer extraordinaire, has just begun a new career as the Divination Professor of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
