Down in the deepest depths of the castle were the dungeons. So many corridors to get lost in and so dank. It was really a drag going down there. Brie had been a Hufflepuff at school so her common room had been in the basements, close to the dungeons, but she couldn't imagine having to go down to the dungeons to sleep like the Slytherins were expected to. Brie didn't like to smoosh a whole bunch of people together but maybe the dungeons were the reason why Slytherins always had resting bitch face syndrome. Perhaps the dungeons weren't exactly the best place for morale. Did Salazar Slytherin ever even think of that? Probably not. It was rumoured he had a Chamber of Secrets which was probably in the dungeons somewhere, but who even had time to search for that? It seemed quite impossible that anyone could find the Chamber of Secrets unless they already knew of its location. Brie highly suspected that if the Chamber did exist then it was probably accessed through a classroom or cupboard in the dungeons somewhere. But there was no real proof that Slytherin had a secret Chamber, it was probably all just stories Slytherins told the newbies. Probably.
So what was Brie doing down in the dungeons? It was depressing as hell but there were a few rooms down there with books she was interested in bringing up to the library. They had a few rare books and they probably weren't of interest to many people, but Brie had expanded the library a little to create enough space to accommodate the new old books, though they were in need of a little tender love and care before they could be put on the shelves for reading, but Brie was going to stay up late tonight, fixing up at least a few of these bad boys before letting the rest for a week and then they'd be up for a reading and if their content was appropriate enough, they could be put into various sections around the library, using the new expansion as overflow of the already existing books in the library.
Having dusted off the books one by one with magic and having them stack neatly into three piles, Cambria was ready to take them up to the office in the library. She left the room, the books lifting in their piles and following behind her. A few meters down the hall and she heard the classroom door close behind her. The torches that lit the hallways flickered creating the illusion that it was nighttime but it was barely past noon. She saw a few students heading to lunch and it wouldn't be long before those that didn't have a free period would be out of their lessons and headed to the great hall. Cambria had plans to head to the great hall after she dropped the books off but as she made her way down the second floor corridor she knew she was probably going to get wrapped up in looking at all these books and she'd miss lunch but she could always have a house elf bring her something delicious to eat a little later when her stomach rumbled so loud she'd shh it for disturbing the peace.

It's about time for my arrival Valentine enjoyed the cold winters at Hogwarts, if only for the fact that he was able to wear ridiculously expensive and beautiful fur coats and cloaks to keep him warm, and nobody batted an eyelid. He got looks for his taste in clothing most days, but people were used to him being extravagant and flamboyant. He lived on the stage, he was supposed to stand out and be seen. It had taken a bit of adjusting when he had taken the job offer back in September; students weren't giving him as many funny looks now as they had done six months ago. Some of them had been a little bit scared of him, others awed by his fame and sheer presence in the castle. Valentine stuck by his original claims that he didn't really want to be there. He was no Professor. Dumbledore had basically emotionally blackmailed him into the position by being powerful and generally awesome, and he had stroked Valentine's ego enough that he had agreed despite his doubts. He was a seer, he was fit for the position, but teaching teenagers? Come on. It was going alright. He didn't believe a single one of his students had the sight, but that wasn't what he was there for, he was there to teach them how to read tea leaves, and crystal balls, and other mumbo jumbo that had nothing to do with him. Oh, he knew the craft, he knew it well, but it was tedious teaching the parts he didn't hold any stock in. Next month he had an entire thirty one day plan for the kids to predict their own daily horoscopes based off of the stars. He had gotten Professor Rayne on board - he'd sold his soul and half of his finest alcoholic possessions to do so - and he was pretty sure every single one of his students now hated him since he had revealed the project to them a few days ago. Valentine, himself, was an Aries, and he predicted without looking at a single constellation that the entire month of March would hold a lot of turmoil and teenage whinging for him. With a flurry of drunken nights, and some cracking headaches to boot. He sauntered down the second floor corridor, planning to have lunch on his own rather than sitting like a spectacle in the Great Hall. His fur cloak flew behind him, his hair was perfect, and the vision that hit him of a student sprinting into a load of levitating books made sense when he turned a corner and saw one of the librarians transporting three piles of tomes down the corridor. "I would stop and put those down for the next minute and a half if I were you," he said casually as he approached. "Graham Hildenburn is about to come bolting around that corner." He pointed behind Miss Chase and paused, waiting for the inevitable sound of running footsteps. _______________________ tag: Cambria Josephine Chase words: 516 notes: <3 outfit: Extra. template by izzy[googlefont="Sacramento"][googlefont="Cinzel Decorative"]

Brie was lost in thought about all that she wanted to do with the Library. She could see it all clearly in her minds eye, almost as perfectly as she could see in front of her. Unfortunately her clear path was blocked by Beau and with one of his predictions, "Eye-eye, Captain." She said, moving the books to the side of the hallway and setting them close to the floor, letting them float half an inch above the probably dirty stones, never daring to put a book on a floor unless she knew it was spotless. "For the next minute and a half, eh?" She asked curiously, "Is that something you can switch on and off or is it something that just comes out of nowhere?" She asked, tilting her head a little. Brie had been on the fence about believing in anything that claimed to predict the future, but Beau Valentine was the real deal. He possessed gifts that were definitely real and Brie had no trouble in believing him when he said that Hildenburn was going to come bolting around the corner. She'd probably have lost her temper if he'd run into her books so young Graham should probably thank Professor Valentine whenever he got here.

It's about time for my arrival Miss Chase boldly questioned him about his abilities and Valentine raised one perfectly groomed eyebrow. "Nosy, aren't we," he replied, eyes flashing playfully. He moved closer to the wall to let other students pass, figuring he might as well wait for Hildenburn to run through before carrying on with his lunch hour. "I never used to be able to control it," he said, remembering a time when visions would hit him like a train, coming out of nowhere. That wasn't pleasant and it lasted for many years before he was strong enough to take the reins. Or brave enough to even want to try. "I can never switch it off, unfortunately, but I can see things when I choose now, as well. It took a while to master." And many nose bleeds and splitting headaches. He gave her a suspicious sideways glance. "Why?" Was she asking out of curiosity, or did she, like most other people, want something from him and his talent? _______________________ tag: Cambria Josephine Chase words: 188 notes: <3 outfit: Extra. template by izzy[googlefont="Sacramento"][googlefont="Cinzel Decorative"]

Brie was a curious little bee. It wasn't so much that she was just curious, more that she was entirely nosy, but she could pass it off as a mild curiosity if she wanted, but why bother hiding it when you were talking to a seer? Admittedly they weren't legillimens or anything, but they were about as good as. It was interesting to Brie, she'd never really known anyone that had some kind of future telling abilities. "Curiosity." She said with a shrug, just then heavy footsteps came at them and Hilden-whatever came bombing around the corner as fast as his stick legs could carry him, "Oi, slow down, boy." She barked in her 'scary' librarian voice. The lad looked petrified and almost skidded to a halt. He sheepishly walked off and Brie stared after him, "You fancy getting some drinks later at the Broomsticks?" She asked Beau the second the kid was out of earshot, her body language going from tense, pissed off to totally chilled. Brie liked getting to know her co-workers. They basically lived in a castle together, they were basically house mates and she'd prefer to get on with them and even be friends seeing that they had to spend their lives practically together. She waved her wand, the books coming up a little more off the ground as she prepared them for the journey back to the library.

It's about time for my arrival Hildenburn came right on cue, legging it as fast as he could around the corner, his robes flying behind him. Valentine merely gave him a bored look until Miss Chase barked a warning at the lad and nearly made Valentine jump out of his fur coat. "Whew," he whistled, giving her a wide eyed but impressed look. "The lady knows how to put her foot down." Hildenburn seemed to agree, and he slowed to a walk and gave them a sheepish look as he passed. Valentine knew that he was going to break into a run again as soon as he was out of sight, but it was no bother to him. He had prevented one minor disaster for the day, he was ready to move on. Only now he was being invited for drinks later. So much for staying out of people's way at the castle. He looked Miss Chase over. She seemed nice enough, though everyone could seem nice if they really wanted to. "I'll arrange a private booth," he said with a nod. "I don't walk through Hogsmeade without being accosted by starry eyed fans." Valentine couldn't walk down any street without being accosted by fans, let alone sit undisturbed in a pub for a few drinks with a colleague. Or ten colleagues, Merlin knew who else she would invite for drinks tonight. _______________________ tag: Cambria Josephine Chase words: 251 notes: <3 outfit: Extra. template by izzy[googlefont="Sacramento"][googlefont="Cinzel Decorative"]

Brie had learnt early on how to bark a good order or two. A lot of people didn't take you seriously when you looked as good as she did and so she had learnt to give them the shock of their lives when she'd shout in what she referred to as her 'angry' voice. She wasn't always angry when she used it but she damn well seemed it, so long as it did the trick, she was happy with it, "Fans?" She questioned, she knew very well what fans he was on about, but she couldn't be letting him get a big head, what kind of a future-friend would she be! "I don't think I have any fans, but it's nice to know my work and my looks are appreciated." She smirked. "Though I welcome a private booth. The amount of men I just have falling at my feet day and night is ridiculous, ugh!" She groaned with a playfully dramatic hair flip.

It's about time for my arrival Beau grinned at Miss Chase's sassiness. He liked sass. "Lady, you are not wrong," he told her, acknowledging how fabulous she was. "Own it." She was a sex goddess and there was no denying it. If he'd been into women she would have been high on his list of interests. Alas, he liked men. Beautiful, muscled, well hung men who he could boss around. There were none of those in the castle, unfortunately, and Beau could see himself spending his days surrounded by beautiful women, drinking his sorrows away in pubs until he quit his job and went back to the showbiz life full time. "I'll hook us up," he promised her, heading down the corridor and leaving her to her books. He turned the corner and hopped over a puddle that had formed when some idiot had tried and failed the simple task of carrying a drink down a hallway. His coat swished behind him, thoughts on his plans for the evening, and just how wrong they could go. He wasn't sure whether to dread it or look forward to it. _______________________ tag: Cambria Josephine Chase words: 207 notes: <3 outfit: Extra. template by izzy[googlefont="Sacramento"][googlefont="Cinzel Decorative"]
