 Rogues and Rascals If owls were indeed as easy to charm as girls were, Killian had been going about sending letters home all the wrong way. For a very long time. Did owls like to be complimented? It was something to think on. Dogs certainly did, and cats could be persuaded to approach for a tickle under the chin with a few sweet sounds, so why not birds? Killian tended to talk to Apollo as though he was a human more often than not, just chatting away as though they were old mates, which they were, but it wasn't really the point. He often got annoyed looks from his owl in response, or the occasional irritated peck on the arm. A far cry from a peck on the lips, which is where his efforts with the ladies usually got him. He made a mental note to tell Apollo how lovely his yellow eyes were, or how soft his feathers were the next time he saw him. As long as they were alone, he didn't fancy having an audience who thought he was trying to seduce a bird. Wait... Jazzy cut his thoughts short by announcing that treats were the answer, and he frowned as he realised just how far from the mark he had been with his plans of complimenting the owls. "Huh." Making a noise of acknowledgement, he watched as Jazzy called an owl down with ease, trying his best not to look at her arse, but kind of failing. Sort of. Half looking at it and half looking at the wall next to it didn't really count, did it. Ravenclaw logic told him he was fine, an indirect glance wasn't really a glance at all, and he tilted his head as he watched her with the tawny that had taken the bait. "Well how about I charm some of those owl treats from you, then charm me a bird," he suggested, hoping she had more in her pocket and was feeling generous enough to share. He didn't see why not, his dazzling smile was payment enough for a tiny owl treat, surely she'd take one look at it and hand him everything she had. Or not. Maybe. Rogues and Rascals He heard footsteps behind him as someone else approached the owlery, but Killian didn't bother turning to see who it was. He was doing his thing, whoever was behind him would do theirs, there was absolutely no need for him to turn and have a peek. Ten people could wander into the owlery to send letters and he wouldn't be all that bothered about sharing the space. He wasn't nosy. Okay, that was a lie, he was very nosy, something he blamed his mum for. Corona Vaile liked to know everything about everything, and if there was gossip to be heard, she'd know of it. It really wasn't his fault, it was just genetics, much like his swishy hair and sparkling eyes. And his hair did swish, and his eyes did sparkle as he turned his head just slightly so that he could take a tiny peek at whoever was approaching. He didn't regret it, and he turned a little bit more, his hand dropping, the letter still clutched tightly in it as he flashed a dazzling smile at Jazzy Moon, Gryffindor Captain and seriously hot babe. Her teasing went straight in one ear and out the other as Killian leaned back casually against one of the small owlery windows, his elbows resting on the ledge which could have been cleaner, but he wasn't thinking about owl droppings when he was looking at Jazzy. He struggled to think of anything much around her aside from Quidditch and kissing, neither of which were likely relevant right now. "Jasmine," he beamed, using her full title and making it sound way too beautiful - or so he thought. "Not everyone loves me as much as you do." And she did seem to adore his lips, if nothing else. "Stalking me already?" he asked. "I know my arse looks amazing walking up stairs, but following me up here to admire it is a bit much, don't you think." He was still smiling, the setting sun just about peeking through the windows and lighting up Jazzy's beautiful face. He chuckled at his own joke and waved his letter about a little bit. "Wanna help me charm a bird from a tree?" he asked, conceding that she was right. "Apollo!" Killian hissed, feet crunching on the steps of the owlery. "Psst! Apollo!" He didn't want to shout and cause a flurry of panicked owls to dart out of the windows at him, but his Eagle owl just wasn't responding. Killian wondered if Apollo had gone off to stretch his wings. It wouldn't be the first time, even after six years together, he still did as he pleased and had a rebel soul. Reaching the top of the steps, Killian paused in the doorway, dozens of sets of eyes fixed on him in shades of yellow and bronze and amber. "I'm sorry, okay?" he said. "You guys know who I'm looking for, have any of you seen him?" He stepped further into the owlery, shaking his head as a couple of the owls gave soft hoots in reply. "I gotta learn to speak owl," he muttered to himself, wondering if there was a spell anywhere that could allow you to understand or communicate with animals. It would likely be very complex and advanced if there was one, but now that he'd thought of it, he would have to check at the weekend.
For now, he just needed to get a letter sent off to his family. He liked to write home every week, once, if not more, and he hadn't done so so far this week. It was already Thursday and his mum's letter had arrived on Monday morning at breakfast. He usually wrote back the same day, and then again before the weekend. He'd been a little bit distracted trying to get his new Quidditch team into gear. There were a few new kids in the line up, but they were really promising, or so Killian thought, and being Captain was actually a lot of fun. He had known he would enjoy it, but not this much. He felt buzzed, organized, excited about the Quidditch Cup at the end of the year. Ravenclaw were going to kick arse, and he wouldn't have it any other way. He'd said as much in his letter for his parents, explaining that he'd been encouraging his team to bond and get to know and trust each other with a pizza night in the kitchens last night. It had been fun, if not a little bit risky, but they'd managed to pull it off and get back to the common room without being caught. He was having a pretty great time of it lately. "Any volunteers, since Apollo's off being a rogue?" he asked, pulling the letter from his cloak pocket and holding it up in the air.

Adding Killian in! <3 Killian Abraxas Vaile & Sirius Lee Black There's 2 years between them, but Killian likes his fun, and he'd have been someone who found the Marauders hilarious and probably got on quite well with them. Maybe friends of sorts, or they were before Sirius graduated, and can strike it back up once Killian finishes school? Killian Abraxas Vaile & Amelia Margaret Greengrass He's a year younger, but they totally snogged when they were younger, before she realised that he was a blood traitor. Things probably got a bit frosty after that. XD Killian Abraxas Vaile & Oliver Osiris Devereaux They wouldn't have been friends at school, since Ollie is about 4 years older, but Killian will be going into Pro Quidditch, so there's a future friendship for these two after Killian graduates! They'd get on soooo well! Killian Abraxas Vaile & Euphadora Rose Parkinson Ditto for these, the gap is too big for anything from school, but once he graduates he's coming for her! Killian Abraxas Vaile & Jasmine Cherry Moon Hey captain! Super Quidditch rivalry, but a flirty one. They fancy each other and have snogged in the past at some party or other, but would totally do it again. They're a fun duo off the pitch, and have the same ambitions, and it's just a fun, flirty friendship, and who knows where it'll go! They have chemistry, even on the pitch when they're trying to glare each other down.

XD Christopher Erebus Devereaux & Seraphina Alala Devereaux He's probably been more like a second dad than a brother over the years, but he still has that playful streak with his siblings, that immaturity that just comes out when you're with your brothers and sisters. They love each other a looooot, and would do anything for each other, but she stresses Kit out with her love of boys, and her short skirts. They butt heads over differences of opinion about what is or isn't appropriate, but he will only ever do what he thinks is best for her, and she can turn to him for anything. He's blunt with her, playful, nurturing, and encouraging. Yay siblings!! <3 Also, stop crushing on his best friend, he'll have a heart attack!! X'D Echo Arista Everwood & Seraphina Alala Devereaux Echo has always been spoken of as being good friends with the Devereaux girls, so these two are close friends. I imagine the three of them used to hang out a lot, visiting each other's houses in school holidays and all that jazz. They can talk about anything with each other, and though Echo is a bit closer with Roma purely because they were in the same house so saw more of each other at school, she still adores Sera and counts her as a close friend. These two partying would be so much fun. <3 Also, Sera and Roma have no idea that Echo is secretly crushing on Ollie, so shhhh. Don't tell them. XD Jonathan James Townsend & Seraphina Alala Devereaux He was the year above her, but I think they'd have been friends. He's always thought she was beautiful, but held back because she's always had her things with guys around the castle, and he didn't want to be just another name on a long list, so he settled for friendship instead. He offered to help her with school work a lot, and they definitely partied together, sooo much fun! Nowadays, he's determined to try and get her to undo that pesky swearing off guys thing, because he wants to take her out on a date. So watch out, Sera! Then again, he's friends with Ollie, so he'll have to tread carefully. Bahaha Finley Charles Avery & Seraphina Alala Devereaux He was two years older, but he was totally one of the guys she snogged in her early years, before he became an obvious jerk. XD Then they kind of just didn't interact much once he got older and crazier, but they'll still chat and say hi and whatnot if they run into each other now. No bad blood, but they're not real friendship material. Livia Eleanor Grace Burke & Seraphina Alala Devereaux Probably remember each other from school, not too big an age gap. The Devereauxs were marauding as purebloods, so Liv would have seen her as someone safe to mix with, and still would now. They'd probably make quite fun friends if they got the chance to hang out a bit. Evangeline Lucille Nott & Seraphina Alala Devereaux Big brother's gal pal! Evie has always been lovely to Kit's sisters. She encourages the short dresses and says partying and boys are good for the soul, so I don't know whether Sera would see her as someone fun and nice to hang out with. There's not too much of an age gap for them to be friends of sorts. Geralina Amara Drake & Seraphina Alala Devereaux Geralina and Kit are close, because they're so similar and it's comfy and easy. He's like a little brother to her, so she'd be super friendly and welcoming to Sera in the Order. Geralina loves Divination, so she'd happily talk Sera's leg off about it, maybe when Sera was at school she liked to get books from the library on the subject, and Geralina would help her and they'd get sucked into real deep chats about it all. XD Then since Sera's been out of school, she comes into Order meetings like "I got my palm read, you'll never believe..." and they just ignore Dumbles to talk about mumbo jumbo divination crap. X'D Or something!

PERSONALITY Boggart: Being forced to marry and have children before he is ready (this is what his parents are pushing him to do, desperately, since he's the only one who can carry on their family name and genes). The boggart would probably take the form of little kids who would swing off his arms, crying and demanding things.
Mirror of Erised: To be his own person, outside of the hopes and goals his parents have in mind for him. To have a career as successful as that of his mother and father. He wants more than anything to be a Professional Quidditch player, and would see himself as Keeper for Puddlemere United.
Patronus: Eagle - Killian's happiest memory is the day he got the position as Keeper on the Ravenclaw Quidditch team. He was in his fourth year, and it was something he had been wanting for years, so when he actually succeeded, he felt like he was walking on air for months afterwards. He still feels lucky to be on the team, to this day.
Killian is charismatic and fun, he can be a bit of a charmer (especially with girls), and is comfortable in most situations, being perfectly able to strike up conversations with total strangers. He's the type of person that could make a new best friend standing in line at the post office. He's confident, and it shows. He has a strange ability to make people think he knows what he's doing all of the time. He has no clue why people view him in that light, because more often than not, he's just winging it, but his friends have told him more than once that they feel more confident when he's around, which I suppose makes him an accidental leader, though he doesn't set out to be that.
He's intelligent, and a fast learner, picking things up quickly and absorbing information like a sponge. He does enjoy learning, but his love of knowledge mostly comes from being a bit nosy. He loves a good bit of gossip. He likes to be able to talk to people about any topic that crops up in conversation. He likes to be a jack of all trades, because it makes it easier for him to make friends, and he's a very sociable creature. He likes to be around friends, and make new ones, and is the life and soul of any party. It wouldn't be unusual to find him busting some moves in the middle of a dance floor without a care in the world, or skinny dipping in the lake. He loves fun, and being able to let loose and be silly. Girls tend to like the fun side of him, and though he's a charmer and knows the right things to say, he doesn't ever take advantage, he's a gentleman when it comes to winning girls over, and he's only ever genuine with compliments or pursuing his latest fancy. He's not looking for commitment, though, and although he has and will have girlfriends, he's always reluctant to get too attached, and likes to keep things fun and relaxed, since he doesn't want to be tied down so young.
Though not a commitment-phobe, he frets a decent amount about his parents putting pressure on him to continue the family name, as the only heir, and it shows in his relationships with girls. He's happy to date and have short-term relationships, but unless he found someone absolutely perfect in his very fussy eyes, then he wouldn't consider anything long-term. He can be very shallow and vain at times, okay, quite a bit, and likes to look good and have the best things if possible. It's pretty much always possible, because his parents are rich, but they make him earn any money that they put into his account, by keeping his grades up. He's not a spoiled rich brat, he was raised to know the value of hard work, and have a respect for money, but that doesn't mean he can't spoil his friends every now and then by splashing a bit of cash on little gifts for them.
He loves to see his friends happy, and considers those closest to him to be an extension of his family. He has a fiery temper, and will fight to defend his family and friends (verbally, he's not great in a physical fight aside from dueling, though he'd have a good go!). He's very open and tries to be honest as much as possible, but he can sometimes offend people with his opinions, since he sees no reason to pull punches when it comes to talking to strangers, so he may put people off on first impressions if the conversation topic is something he has an opinion on. All in all, Killian has a good heart, a great sense of fun, and is reliable, trustworthy and loyal in general. He will help people with school work if they need it, and is always happy to have company or someone to chat to (or learn school gossip from).

Killian was born on a hot summer's day into a family of wealthy purebloods, and had everything he ever wanted from a young age. His mother quit her job in France when she was pregnant with him and gave it all up to settle back in England on the family estate they had occupied before. It was a miracle that Killian even existed, as his parents had been told that they were medically unable to conceive a child, to their utter horror. This being the case, Killian was treated like a Prince, never wanting for anything, they went to every length to ensure his happiness and doted on him to the extreme.
Abraxas and Corona Vaile weren't stupid, however, they raised their son to respect the money they spent on him. They were sure to instil a strong set of values in him and taught him that he would have to earn his way in the world, fearing that he would become a rich brat and waste his life. Killian has always been grateful for this, as he sometimes finds it easy to get swept up in things, and often wonders what he would have turned out like if his parents weren't such strong, good people.
His mother's family are a perfect example of what he could have been, and though he only saw his Uncle Aurelius and cousins Finley and Annabelle a handful of times during his childhood, he understood straight away that they were different to him. Pureblooded, yes, but where Killian's parents had taught him to be accepting of others no matter their heritage, his cousins had been taught that only those like them were good enough. Killian fell into that category, but there was a rift between his mother and her siblings, they didn't like the path she had chosen, and the views she had taken on in her adult life. It reached a point where they stopped seeing any family at all, and Abraxas had no family of his own for his son to mix with other than a brother, Atticus, so Killian was forced into quite a lonely childhood, though he formed a strong bond with his Uncle Atticus, who was young and fun and adored his nephew.
He made friends with a few children his mother tutored from home, though he looked forward to the day he would go to Hogwarts and be surrounded by other kids, knowing in his heart that he was designed for friendship. He busied himself with books and learning everything he could that would help him excel at school once the time came, and his acceptance letter couldn't have come quick enough to the bright boy.
Hogwarts was the greatest adventure in Killian's eyes, and he couldn't wait to get there, his first day being so overwhelmingly exciting to him that he actually threw up. He was so eager and quick to learn that lessons were particularly enjoyable for him, and he was determined to do well and please his parents and professors. He still does to this day, though the excitement has maybe worn off a little. His cousins are all graduated now, the family rift having driven a huge wedge between Killian and the people who were meant to be his first friends, and he doesn't speak with the Avery kids at all. The Averys and their peers call him a blood traitor, he tries his best not to get sucked into a war with them, and lives his life the way he chooses. He's happy with his group of friends and his Quidditch, and has dreams of becoming a Professional Quidditch player once he graduates.
