PERSONALITY Boggart: Seeing herself in a mirror, growing old, getting wrinkly, becoming frail. Mirror of Erised: Living a life of freedom. Odie would see herself sunbathing on the white sand of a tropical beach alone. No ring on her finger, no kids irritating her. Patronus: Swan - Happiness? What is that? Odie's (OH-dee) a rather strange little creature. She craves affection and attention yet pushes away everyone in her life, not letting herself get close to anyone. She only had one family member that she was close to and she died, leaving Odie alone and vulnerable, which is a shame, because if Odie finds someone she actually likes, she'd be so incredibly loyal and honest. She'd practically be a completely different person for them. Odie never really made friends in school, she never wanted them either. She was rather a loner and preferred to read rather than socialise, still, she was a Lestrange and so there were always plenty of arse kissers around, practically begging to be used and occasionally Odie would use people, however she needed them, plus occasionally it could prove entertaining. The closest Odie got to a friend in school was one girl that would sit near her in the library and study. Occasionally they'd swap notes on subjects and that would be the extent of their interactions, just a little tit for tat, fair trade as it were. It suited Odie rather well. Now that she's living in England, however, and wife of a gentleman, she's far more social than she's ever been before and she doesn't mind it too much. She's learnt the different families over the years, come to pick out her favourites regardless of whether she liked them or not (because honestly, crazy mum stories can't be topped). Romance has never been a big priority for Odie. She was raised knowing that she would be married off someday. As a Lestrange she was very much going to be sought after, ties to her family would do good for plenty of families in the French Wizarding aristocracy and so she never learnt to flirt and never knew when she was being flirted with. She ever kissed a boy or did other things until after she had graduated and she allowed her curiosity got the better of her. She's been with both men and women since but there's no interest in returning to women. She finds there's no attraction for her there, although she does find women pretty she has learnt that does not equate to the lust needed for a fling. Making enemies is a little difficult when you don't really talk to anyone, though Odie's shut off personality could potentially rub people the wrong way. She can also be quite quick to anger, head strong, and lacking in tact. She's smart and won't really put up with fools. She'll call out someone if they're wrong about something and usually people won't argue back because of her family. Trying to have a son. Felix Lestrange - grandpere, purblood, arsehole With three older brothers and an older sister, Odette's birth was rather overlooked. There was of course a birth announcement and the standard congratulations, but beyond that there was really no cause for celebration. This child was nothing special, nothing significant. Sure she was a testament to her parents love, but they had no desire to actually raise her, they did to her what they were taught to do - hand the children over to the nannies and house elves. It was considered their responsibility to raise the children to match the parents expectations, and that was exactly what they did. From a young age Odie was very aware that she was going to get married some day. She and her sister were going to have men asking for their hands in marriage and quite honestly the idea excited the young little witch. She and her sister would talk for hours upon hours of what it would be like to be wed. They spoke of their weddings, planning them out in as much detail as they possibly could. Despite the four year age gap, Odie and Giselle were extremely close. Growing up Odie was never left wanting. When she wanted something, she had it almost at once. Money poured from every vestibule in the Lestrange mansion. When you walked into the family home it was apparent that money was of no concern. They were one of the most prestigious families in the world, it was only right that it showed in their homes, their clothes, their manners, and just about every other possible way you could imagine. Odie attended Beauxbatons when she was eleven years old. She enjoyed school very much while her sister was there. She occasionally saw her older brothers, too, but they were scarce and she didn't really know them all that well. Still they seemed to look out for her from time to time and had she been able to do the same then she probably would have done, but there was nothing she could do for them, they were older and better at being able to read other people and situations. She'd have only been a bother. During the summer holidays between her fourth and fifth year everyone in the household came down with a bad case of the dragon pox. It claimed the life of Odie's younger brother Pierre and then her older brother Baptiste. Had they recognised the symptoms earlier then perhaps they would have all made it through but life was not meant to work out that way. Just as they were getting over it all and once her parted siblings were at rest, a freak accident that Odie was not allowed to know the details of, took Louis from them, leaving Giselle, Edgar and Odie the only remaining children. As was expected there was absolute heartache. Complications arose for Giselle. She'd not gotten better like the rest of them, her breathing just hadn't gotten back to normal. The healers kept her going though and she promised Odie she would be fine. Odie went back to school with only Edgar for company. They kept one another safe from the talk that surrounded them but it didn't really affect either one of them. Their bond grew and a couple of months after being at school they were pulled out for a month. Giselle had died, all Odie was ever told was that there were complications from the dragon pox and she'd just never recovered despite all the best medical advances. Life was never the same after Odie lost Giselle. She'd been pretty shut off as it was but she became even more closed. Her best friend - her only friend - in the entire world had died. She felt empty. There was a hole inside of her, taking up her whole chest and there was absolutely nothing in the world that could fill it. Edgar did his best to keep her spirits up but she was a lost cause really. Six months later and Edgar would be dead. Trampled by a hippogriff. Odie had no idea how to continue with life. She felt as though she wasn't moving forward, things were just happening around her, life was just passing her by while a haze hung around her head. As she stayed rooted to the spot she had her exams, she had her graduation and then she was being told she was betrothed. This snapped her out of her daze. She had lost every single one of her siblings, her parents were trying for more and not having any success, only finding they were having miscarriage after miscarriage, but they were still planning on selling off their daughter to the highest bidder. Odie flew into a rage. Pent up anger and frustrations all came loose. Perhaps the kitchen had not been the best place to break the news to her because a short while later Odie snapped herself out of what felt like a dream, as though someone else had control of her but she knew they hadn't because she was enjoying this too much. Once she had calmed herself down and her anger subsided, Odie found she was sat on her mother's stomach, plunging a knife into the woman's chest repeatedly. She was long dead, her eyes lost to nothing. Odie looked over to her father, his throat slit as he laid there in a pool of his own blood, just gone. It took longer than she had thought it would to stage some kind of invasion. She cleaned herself up, disposed of all her bloodied clothes and took a lot of possessions from around the home, making it look like a home invasion. To this day Odie has no idea how she managed to get away with murdering her parents. She still recalls paying a homeless person to swear she'd been with them. She'd set them up with new clothes and a place to stay for free indefinitely. That was until she went back and killed the guy a few years later. She was free. Odette could breathe. She was fresh out of Beauxbatons, 18 years old and she had the world at her feet! Or so she thought. After her parents funeral her grandfather approached her with his new fiancee, informing her that he was there for her. The home and everything in it would be hers. She would have her own vault filled with gold but that would be all. She would have no more from the overall family account, only what was left from her parents deaths, which was more than enough for anyone to live on really, however Odie was crushed because the news was followed with her grandpere telling her that he would be taking over finding her a suitable husband. Odette was heartbroken and angry. She was shipped off to England where she met a man who looked like a large praying mantis with ridiculous hair. They were never going to hit it off. Odie hated him before she'd ever met him. His family weren't pure like hers, they didn't go back nearly as far as her own bloodlines or even those of lesser purebloods and yet she had to marry him, some business arrangement more than anything and what was worse she had to give him children. Odie fell pregnant a year after they'd been married and gave birth when she was 20. They had a daughter and Odie named her after her sister. A few years later and they had another child, another girl and Odie named her Bridgette, a name her sister Giselle had always wanted for her daughter when they were grown up and married. Now, a few more years on, Odie is pregnant with their third child that she prays is a boy because honestly, she's not sure she could stand to have another of that stick insects children. She will play the wife, she will mix and mingle with society for she was raised to do so, but being so tightly wound is rarely any good for anyone and someday, Odie feels like she might just snap and kill everyone around her.
