Front Garden The large front garden is broken up by a circular driveway and lined with ivy and rosebushes. The wild of the woods is tamed with precision care, creating a large space for the James children to run around while playing. Back Garden A large patio sits off the dining room and divides the expansive back garden from the home. Stone steps lead away from the patio to the lush greenery, a stone walkway eventually becoming a pebbled path that leads out into the woods. Entry Corridor Paneled walls welcome visitors to the James' family home. A long corridor runs the length of the ground floor, from the front door all the way to the dining room at the back of the house. Lounge A large wood-trimmed room with vaulted ceilings is the first space directly off the entry corridor. The piano, a family heirloom, sits off to the side. Classic furnishings fill out the rest of the room, including a sitting space designed with enlightened conversation in mind. The stained glass windows are draped with velvet, floor length curtains, pulling the majestic appearance of the room together. Library Just beyond the lounge is the library, where the James keep all of their families' cherished books and memoirs. The children are encouraged to sit quietly while their nanny reads to them and while the eldest daughter, Giselle, studies. Raucous behavior is not permitted in this room, but just through the french doors they can run about outside to their hearts' content. Dining Room At the end of the long ground-floor corridor you will find the dinning room. Decorated in much the same fashion as the rest of the house, red floor-length curtains frame the windows, and decorative rugs cover the original hardwood floors. The table seats 10 comfortably, but the room can host several more with a quick enchantment. Kitchen Used mainly by the cook and the few servants the family employs, the kitchen is a smaller space with less fanfare than the rest of the home has been given. It suits its purpose and there is nothing elaborate here worth mentioning. First Floor Corridor Just beyond the lounge is a large staircase that leads to the first floor. Like the one below it, the first floor corridor spans the length of the house. Leading to the family's private quarters, one side of the corridor is open to overlook the large lounge below. Master Bedroom and En Suite Wood paneling throughout the room paired with strategically placed candelabras create a dark, intimate environment where the not-so-happy couple share their nights. A modern en suite was added after the couple purchased the home.
